How do I begin?

First of all, great app name. It just sounds so creative, like your sketching a whole day in a whole life!..Creating characters, and life..just so beautiful. Also, the prompts? OMG! Their SOOOOOOO creative and unique in their own special way. Today I did “Cone” and I also did “Magic”. How I did 2? The late prompts. Their so great! Like if you miss a day, you can go back and sketch the prompt. And also do whatever day your on! Sadly you can only do 3 entries a day (Not a bad thing, good in fact. It helps users not spam post.) The only “critique” is that you can’t really ask people to like or check out your profile...it’s not much of a critique, blocking beggars, but I think it should be allowed if they ask only very briefly and simply just said “check out my profile!! It’s epic” or something like that, just not “Pls like PLS PLS PLS” or “CHECK OUT MY PROFILE PLS” or anything like that. It would be fine if it was allowed for mature or 15+ (Mature 13-year-olds POSSIBLY allowed if they behave maturely and politely) and any beggars post would be deleted in a amount of time or immediately. Or if anyone sees a beggar they’d report to a moderator... but yeah that’s my only critique. Thank you SO much for making Sketch a Day. It’s a absolutely PERFECT app. -Fellow Drawer ✍️ 📖 ❤️

Great app for artists but unintentionally biased

I’m truly nervous for writing this review for the fear of backlash or retaliation: but it truly must be said. This app is amazing to help art blocks and get creative. The artists on this app are all so friendly, compassionate, supportive of one another and helpful when needed. However there is an option to contact support yet they do not read nor respond. There is a rule that “Reposting old work is not allowed. The whole point of the app is to draw daily, not to "farm" likes.” And there has been old work posted with MINOR new details added; some it’s literally just the same piece reposted. I’ve read the reviews where artists are penalized for breaking more minor rules than that, yet these other artists get away with reusing old work from long ago (so it’s not noticeable), and the rest of us are working hard on sketching NEW pieces for every prompt. I truly love this app; I’ll continue to use it, but it is 100% not fair that particular artists can get away with breaking rules and others either lose their day streak, suspended, or kicked off. I’ve taken this with a grain of salt for a little while until it became more and more common yet still goes unnoticed. I sincerely hope I’m not retaliated against for this review.

All sorts of great things .

It’s an amazing place to come to , for practicing new things finding new interesting art supplies like you could move from alcohol markers to watercolor . And they even give you ideas of what to draw! Isn’t that just simply amazing?! Not only those great features but they also have a incredibly kind and understanding community which makes it great for beginners to share there art without to much judgement! And I just love that you still have many options without VIP it’s just amazing. It’s a great way to show your art . Might I add it isn’t the most popular app , which is also a bad thing , sad it’s underrated but it lowers the chance of it somehow getting hacked. If your an artist of any type I recommend this ! And if you just want to view art and talk with chill people this is a must get for you ! Stunningly amazing job developers! Credits all they way to you :) ! Thank you for reading .

Fantastic YES YES YES

About 2 months ago I got more into drawing, but I never knew what to draw. Someone in my class kept talking about Sketch a Day. So I downloaded it and I have over a 70 day streak. This app is great because I really struggled with coming up with something to draw, so when this app prompts you everyday to draw something new, it gets my creativity flowing. It’s also a really nice community there. I really enjoy the comments feature because when someone leaves a nice comment on your drawing, you feel good. And when you leave a nice comment on someone else’s drawing, it makes you feel good because you know you’re making that person feel good. I absolutely LOVE this app. I totally recommend downloading this app if you struggle to come up with an idea to draw, want to share your artworks, meet new people, and fill up your time. Digital vs paper /paint 📝 ect... but rate this app 5 ⭐️s

This app is amazing & it sure inspires me to draw.. but I wonder about digital and the people who paint 🎨 on paper. Everyone is amazing artist. But I feel like digital artist don’t get as much likes as the ones that paints.. I could be wrong but that’s what I’m seeing. And I think because the monitors might think 💭 we either trace or manipulate a photo when our artwork is great. And truthfully I was thinking of backing out & delete this app. I really don’t want to. Right now ivy is for tomorrow drawing. I was going to draw her and then leave as my last artwork. This review has nothing to do with the developer, but how people look at the different medium we use and how they are us. Thank you.

Revisiting Liked Sketches and Editing Your Post?

I love this app! Most of the time when I want to draw, I’m not sure what to draw, or I’m stuck drawing the same old stuff I always do. This app helps me to think outside of my normal creative box and I feel like I have improved a lot as an artist! Or at least I’ve uncovered some talents I didn’t realize I had. Both of which, I think is great!!! The only two things I would really like to see added to this app is 1): A way to view the art you’ve liked from other people. I find that I wish I could go back and look at art I’ve liked, but there’s not really an easy way to do that unless I happened to favorite the artist. And 2): A way to edit a post without having to delete it and do it over. Sometimes after I’ve posted, and it has been liked and/or commented on, I realize that I spelled something wrong in the description, but I can’t fix it unless I want to start over. If either of these things (or both), could be added to the app I know me and at least a few other people would love it! Thank you for reading this and for the app! 👍

Amazing! Highly recommend!

This app is great for anyone needing inspiration, practice, or feedback! This app is amazing because there’s a community of people filled with everyone from beginners to pros! You can even filter different mediums. I’ve never encountered any rude comments here, and the only nasty comment I’ve ever seen disappeared and the account was suspended within minutes-they have a great moderation system. You can interact with other artists by replying to posts or comments, and you can even favorite them to sort through new works of your favorite creators! If anyone is looking for friends here, my user is CriticalQuery!

So, great ap, it’s easy to post things etc, but I can’t seem to find the terms and conditions, and too many ads I’m okay with the ones who are just pop ups, but the ones that take over, your entire screen are so annoying, all in all you need this app, so many people will love your art and using it made me feel like people outside of my friend group liked my art and that I could get good feed back and constructive criticism and tips, this is a great app for ambitious artists who have absolutely no creativity!

This is one of the best creative, interactive, apps out there

I originally installed this app half a year ago, in the hopes of getting my creative juices working. I am seriously surprised when I found out not a lot of people are using it. Not only do you have friendly interactions with others, but you also have the amazing art pieces on here. This app functions brilliantly as I get to see the less known artists with their different kind of pieces. Additionally, your age doesn’t matter at all. You can publish your pieces without any trouble. It’s easy and compatible for everyone.

Inspiring & Helpful

Joined to improve/sharpen my illustration hand skills. Getting a daily random subject to illustrate is a great way for me to unlock my creativity. Drawing every day is helping me to hone my skills and style. Additionally I set a 30 minute time limit for myself to push myself to work rapidly. Love seeing the creativity ways others around the world interpret the same subject matter, being able to Like and Comment on their work makes for an overall positive community. Exactly what I was looking for!

Wish it had a bit more.

Overall, I love this app. I sometimes find it hard to think of something to sketch. With this app, each day a topic is given for you to use your imagination and create a sketch. It gets you thinking of things to draw that you never would have thought of yourself. Once you’re done with your sketch, you can post it. You’re able to see other users sketches and you can “like” them. I just wish it had a little bit more to the app. Maybe some sketching tips or some more options. It would be nice to be able to add a caption to your sketch, as well.

Development issues

The new update was very lack luster and you are not able to upload the daily prompts without ads taking over and see can no longer see the recent art from others as you were previously. I sent a message to the customer support just to get an message back from Tom telling me to delete the free app if I was so unhappy. Talk about a letdown I’ve been on the app for a couple years and have really enjoyed it up until the recent update, figuring that I would reach out to support and they would give some tips to manage the new system and to be told that I’m not worth anything because I don’t pay and delete the free app, dear Tom, that is not the way that you do customer service

Amazing app

This app is a great way to extend your range of art study. I’ve spent most of my time studying anatomy and perspective, so when I was prompted to draw an oven, though I wasn’t too stoked at first about drawing an oven, the learning process was a lot more fun than I imagined it would be. Definitely recommend this app to anyone who has a hard time figuring out what to draw or at least anyone willing to learn to draw anything. PS…I NEVER leave written reviews, THATS how much I appreciate the concept behind this app

Great Community

I recently started drawing as a hobby because I always loved drawing as a kid. I wanted to find an app that had a community of artists where I could upload my sketches and I really love my experience so far. The themes are great and give me a direction to go with my art and I love seeing artists being supportive of other’s works. It really helps motivate you to draw no matter what your skill level is since everyone can participate. I look forward to seeing the app continue to grow in the future!

Best game ever

It is a really awesome app to share and see other people’s drawing!You can even like and comment on people posts you can talk to people in the comments and it’s really fun but a disclaimer if you copy some please do say that you copies them is not fair to copy someone and claim it as your own not only is it unfair rude and a jerky move it’s also illegal so please do get the app and be honest (I got the copyright thing from the producer of the game) Thank have a beautiful and wonderful rest of your day or night

This app is a quick and easy go to place to get ideas on things to draw. It's a motivational tool to help put ink to paper everyday by spending less time and being overwhelmed when searching online. As a person learning to draw, needing an extra crutch and confidence boost, it would be nice if a quick tutorial was included along side the 'ideas'. Defiantly like that the developer is engaged and hasn't disappeared as other apps have. Good work 'Sketch A Day'!

My favorite app

I have greatly enjoyed using Sketch a Day! The community has been very supportive and uplifting, I’ve not experienced any negativity at all. There are artists from very small and basic to very skilled! It has encouraged me to draw once again! I would highly recommend this app. They give you a theme every day and depending on your interpretation, you draw and submit. Really cool to see those that think outside of the box! It is my favorite app! Get drawing!!!

Good community

The only reason I’m giving a three star is because they deleted one of my posts and when I delete a post it still says it’s there. I have 25 sketches but it says I have 29. And it says I have 646 likes but I really only have 616. So the one they deleted had 30 likes. But it still shows on profile that it’s there (doesn’t even show the drawing). I like it when they can tell us why they deleted it, There was nothing wrong with the drawing! I even put a adult filter!! This pisses me off, fix it.

This app is amazing it gives you one prompt every day and you can see other peoples work and yours not only that but you can submit a your own work to show and maybe even win no lag and you can see previous prompts from the day before if you missed them all in all this app is awesome and great for anyone who can’t think of something to draw with

Great

This is a great app if you are stuck on ideas and getting motivated to draw in general. Like the description says, it is pretty simple and you can get into the art mood pretty easily. Don’t wait and definitely try it out. There are so many artists that have brilliant art pieces and you can even find out artists new to the app. Honestly I can’t believe that there are only a few hundred of people using this.

Love this app!

It helps me keep up my artistic hobbies and see other people's creativity, and gives me inspiration when I don't know what to draw. I like that old submissions can be edited, but I wish the photo on the old one could also be edited without deleting the post. I have a photo one one of mine where the lighting isn't great and I accidentally turned the picture sideways, and I can't fix it now.

Good but could improve

Hey so sketch a day is great I can share my art work and I love that and I love discovering amazing artists but it will glitch we’re it will not let me see today’s prompt and I have great Internet connection but sometimes it will never load also sometimes the prompts are weird and just not fun to draw I think they should make multiple prompts for the day but overall it is pretty good thanks for reading this and reading all my typos I know there are some in anyway yeah good app

Love it

I have always liked art and I had nobody to show it to who loved art as much as I do and that’s here now thanks to this it’s a great app tons of different art styles I like the subject a day idea I have always found myself drawing a blank when it comes to what I should draw and with this you have ideas overall I love this app and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to share their art with the world!

I love this app

It gives you daily challenges for art ideas with all types of media. And you can look at other peoples submissions and comment or like them, you can link your art instagram. Plus when i don't have motivation or i cant think of an idea i just go on the app and see my daily challenge to get me started for the day!

Great app!

I downloaded this app recently and I encountered a small bug. My phone screen was to small to display all the buttons so it pushed the cancel button into the submit button. I contacted support and that day they responded with: I'm working on a fix right now, sorry about the issue. Two days later, the fix was complete and waiting for Apples approval. Amazing customer service.

Awesome app for art block

This app is great for breaking art block! I love the fact that it will give you a prompt every day, plus let you see future and past ones. The community is also great; I have only seen people encourage and compliment each other. Moderators also have dealt with issues such as plagiarism in a respectful manner. I’ll definitely recommend this app to my art friends!

Great app!

This is a really good app! So much fun to see everyone else’s drawings. But only one suggestion. You should make it so no one will know why the category will be the next day! It would be a fun surprise! And maybe a few categories. You could keep the stuff you had and make it a “random” category and make some other ones like “characters” or “places” ext. but other wise the app is great and I love it!

Love It! So fun and very friendly

I have so much fun sharing my art I’ve been looking for a place to share my work with people to get unbiased feedback and this solved that for me! It’s so easy to use and it feels very safe to use, the community is so nice and supportive! I love seeing people art and learning from the “Learn” section. It’s a great app and I definitely recommend!!!

I Like It

Yeah this app was fun! I was worried it would be overrun by a paywall, but even without paying the app is really fun! There’s an active community and I enjoy posting my dumb 2 minute sketches I barely have time for, along with my hour long sketches I could actually sit down and do. It keeps me drawing a little something each day.

good good good!!!

i love using the app! it’s an awesome way to get a bunch of artists together to support other artists! i've been using it for two weeks(ish) and i only have a small issue. the caption system is a bit clunky. you can write three lines of text, but it’s all squished into this one text line that doesn't expand down, so it’s hard to double check or edit what you've typed before posting. other than that points (which is only a small part of the app), it’s an amazing platform. the moderators are really good about making sure people stick to the rules/prompts and the community is amazing (and big!). i think anyone wanting to be in an artist-based community to see different art techniques and improve their skills should try it out.

Excellent App

I just downloaded this app yesterday and am already a huge fan. Love the prompts, the community and the whole set up of the app. I haven’t seen something like this since DrawQuest, which unfortunately went under a few years ago. So happy to see there are still artist communities thriving on a fun, non-judgmental platform. Kudos to the developer!

I adore it but....

I have had sketch a day for almost a year and I adore it! I have gotten so much better at drawing and haven’t missed a single day. Ever. Well I have missed a few but I posted them the day after which still counts. But I AM SO CLOSE TO A YEAR well I was....I didn’t miss a day though, it says I missed one but I looked at all of them and it didn’t say so and I am devastated that it says I lost my streak!!! Sketch a day please, please, PLEASE fix this 😰

Picks up where Inktober left off

This was my first year participating in Inktober and when it was done I wanted something to keep me in the habit of drawing daily. This app has been a great motivator to keep me drawing daily. The prompts are one word prompts, just like Inktober, five enough guidance to keep me motivated and drawing. I highly recommend to someone looking to keep up their newly developed Inktober habits.

I really love this app

This app gives me the freedom to see other peoples artwork while putting my own artwork on a place where people aren’t often judging. The people on this app are so nice and are really good at giving nice feedback. The creator really makes sure everything is fair and nice and I really love this app. 10/10 would recommend for all artists.

Wake up the artist in you!

Daily prompts urge you to create. The other artist’s postings encourage you to explore different mediums and try new styles. Easy to upload from photo library, in app camera doesn’t allow for cropping. Great app, moved to my iPhone home page for daily reminder.

Helped me start drawing again

This is exactly what I needed. I loved Inkoctober but it was one month a year, and I wanted more promts to open my imagination daily. And this did it! The community it’s great, tips about drawing and tutorials l. Makes you feel good sharing your art with fellow artist of all levels and media. NLQ

One Adjustment ‘Til Perfet

Great idea for this app! I love it, it gets me drawing me more often, and I love looking at all the other works. The problem is how the prompt appears over images. This can spoil or sway ideas which is a little frustrating. If the initial viewing of the prompt could be separated from the pictures, it’d be a perfect app

Great app

I love this app because it inspires me to post my art work and inspires me to draw things out of my style. You can see what other artists do and. Overall this app is great. I do think they can add free chats and a few things to post every day instead of just one.

Great App, excellent customer Service

Experienced a tiny issue becoming a Gold Member, however Tom was quick, and diligent in fixing the small issue I had. Excellent app for creative ideas and collaboration. Giving 5 star rating because it’s an all around great app to give and receive support for artists exclusively.

I really like the prompts idea, it gives me something to follow but doesn’t directly say what I should draw and it can be interpreted it many different ways, it is a great community of artists, not everyone is amazing and that’s fine, the app provides a non-stressful environment for artists new or experienced

Also the app has a store in it to but art supplies, super cool for new artists looking for supplies or just finding some different supplies. The gold membership is only like $4. So affordable and it helps the developers so much. Amazing I love it so far.

Quick review

I find this app very nice and inspirational. Every day there is a theme that you must draw and it helps run ideas through your brain! I got this app two days ago and it’s a nice app. One of my favorite drawings that is currently the most like drawing is the unicorn one. I hope this review was helpful~!

Almost perfect

This is a great app it gets your creative juices flowing which is completely the point. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because there is no way to block other artists. Some people only post pictures and I know this sounds petty but this app is for sketching or other paper/canvas arts I don’t want to see your photo of a pen cap.

Got me out of the funk

Was really struggling with my art when I stumbled across this app. The daily prompts are nice, but it’s the community that got me engaged with my art again. They have created a space that engenders creativity and celebration and I am truly thankful for it.
