I saw on instagram that you guys updated the app for ios. I thought that meant for all apple products but I guess not... So is the new update coming for mac soon? Also I keep getting a lot of bugs and glitches. Like when I close the app its says it "closed unexpectedly". Also sometimes the eyedropper tool acts weird and doesn't let me select it on the first tap. Hopefully these issues fix with the new update because I really like this app overall
It seems like every day a new issue arises, and no matter how many times you refresh the app or restart your computer, another bug comes right back around. I really thought the issue would have gone away after upgrading from Sketchbook to Sketchbook Pro, but that was just a waste of money. Same bugs, same glitches, same everything. It is honestly a shame that an app with so much potential has so many unnecessary issues. The only thing stopping me from moving on to another program is the outstanding graphics quality and brushes this app has. But really though, the bugs are completely unpredictable.
The app is very good as far as its features and user interface. Unfortunately it crashes all the time. Maybe after every 10-20 moves. I noticed it happening when I manipulate the layers using the layers palette but it happens when I use other tools too so I can't say for certain what's causing it. I'd like to offer some help if I can. I'm using a 2020 macbook pro with the latest OS.
The option to hide UI while drawing is so nice! I can actually work on my projects without having to squint at it through a million windows. I wish there was a more active community, and more brushes, but I've been using Sketchbook for years and can't imagine switching to another program.
I've used this for a while and seeing the difference between the phone version and this to be disheartening. Such as it just crashing randomly, crashing when I try to name a layer, crashing when trying to make a flipabook, the selection tool just stop works along with the magnification tool. It all just feels really clunky and some of the features need to be implemented. But the amount of times I've run into issues really bums me out.
Still runs under rosetta2 for over 2 years. I wished for the app to support apple silicon natively so I can face less bugs and more battery life. But it's been 2 years and they haven't done anything about it. At this point I doubt they will. don't get me wrong, the app still works fine, just not without it's flaws and if you are in love with the simple UI, go for it. just don't expect much when it comes to performance.
I have used Sketchbook for as long as I can remember; like before Adobe switched from Creative Suite, to Creative Cloud! I get why Copic is gone, which does make me sad, because I loved how I could match my work digitally and physically, but why do Mac users always have to be the last to get any new update?!?! I mean it's not that difficult to port from iPadOS to MacOS, they use the same SDK and scripting language! Come on guys, if you can port to iPadOS, there is no excuse why Android should be getting a beta with the new Color enhancements, and Mac users get an app that crashes worse then Biden on a bicycle!
Professional artist here and I've never loved a program so much and then been so thuroughly defeated by it. THis sketchbook Pro not only shuts down whenever it feels like it, it restarts the Macbook killing everything. I feel it's only a matter of time before it corrupts something for good. Read the honest reviews, after years of a top notch amazing product, it's not worth a penny now.
i had got this for free and it used to have the copic color palette feature. accidentally closed the toolbar and could not bring it back. So I thought i could just delete the app and reinstall it for free. Instead I had to pay 20 dollars for it and now it: doesn't have the color palette feature. glitches extremely often (never used to glitch at all) and closes very often deleting all my unsaved progress.
I used this app since version 6, before it was then bought by autodesk. It was always stable, even so it didn't change much over the years, working well with my different Cintiq tablets. So I decided to buy it again. But unfortunately the pen pressure is really bad, no matter how I try to adjust my Wacom settings. Going back to Photoshop.
I used to love this app and used it daily. Now I can't be on it for even 5 minutes before it shuts down and I lose all of my work. Even if I periodically save, after it shuts down and reloads, it never loads back to the exact place I last saved. I am fed up and will no longer be trying to give this app a chance.
Love this app but the bugs are neverending lately.
I've used Sketchbook Pro since i switched to digital illustration in 2012. It's easily the fastest and most intuitive drawing app there is period but various issues are killing it. latest is i cant undo brush strokes all of a sudden. I dont know. I really hate using photoshop for line drawing but it seems like there is just no other way around it.
Great technical support from Sketchbook. I'm a huge fan. This is the best sketching app there is. Just in case there are any issues pop up, save often and make backups!
Dear Sketchboo Pro, it's time for some serious testing -> bug fixes -> patches for this app. Soon To Potential Users, I am happy with the (working) functionality and potential for this app, but you are unlikely to be able to use Sketchbook Pro as a very affordable tool for basic professional work. There are some critical bugs in the app; i.e., when I select Export Framebook it results in an app crash. I have encountered other crashes too. I would like to encourage users to let the Sketchbook Pro team know about some of the bugs you find. I am hopeful that they will take this app seriously and get bug fixes in soon.
I recently converted from Windows to Mac. On my Surface I had the free Sketchbook and it worked wonderfully. On the Mac I found I had to pay for the software and did so willingly. But I find it constantly crashes, layers randomly get deleted as you try to edit them, and it's just generally a bad experience. Essentially unusable.
This app will work fine for a bit, then crash over and over.
As stated in the title, sometimes the app works, other times it crashes repeatedly. It manages to save some of my work, but loses several minutes of work every time it crashes. Unless there is a great fix, I'd really like my $20 returned.
Just purchased this app hoping to access my picture gallery from icloud. Sketchbook is no longer linked to Autodesk and now the gallery of photos cannot be accessed without mobile app. Still can't access files or gallery. This is just wrong!
constantly crashes and or deletes projects when working on multiple projects
I have work with autodesk for many years, but this app has been deleting my projects when I switch from one project to another. please fix this !!!!!!!
Not only does the app crash all the time, but all of the colour/adjusting/undo options either disappear or go off on their own and the app keeps refusing to respond to editing that I try to do. I don't know who else has had this problem, but please fix it.
Great tool. Used it for 15 years. Comparable to photoshop. Not crazy about the lastest update. The x on the transform tool isn't sensitive enough. And the redesigned brush puck is bad. I preferrred the gray brush puck.
I was looking for a long gone file from my ipad and was not there then i started to try to recreate it opened up the font selection and it crashed It also appears that they do not collect data on this app to help improve it but instead asks us to send them an email tp try to help (sounds like a scam to me) overall I was hoping for higher quality and sad i waisted my money
When I try to create a flipbook, it crashes. When I try to import to different formats, it crashes. I haven't managed to do much of anything without it crashing instantly.
For this being a $20 application, I thought I would get the option to install more brushes but there isn't one. The given brush sets are so limiting and dry, Wish I could refund.
Zooming and panning the canvas is a slideshow of lag. Tried quitting all other apps, disabling canvas rotation, and shorting the undo history per their performance trouble shooting guide. Still pretty much unusable. Running on a 2017 mbp, 2.8gh i7, and 16gb ram
This needs to be updated... the pucks size wrongly on a seperate monitor... it's buggy... just not good at the moment (since being taken from Autodesk).
I'm a professional comic book artist and have done most of my inking in this program for over a decade now. In my opinion nothing compares to the desktop version. I'm so happy it's found a new home where hopefully it will get the love and attention it deserves. Fingers crossed that we'll be able to import custom brush sets with the mobile version soon ;) Keep kicking butt guys!
