I absolutely love Studio Movie Grill !!! I am so happy with the employees of the studio movie Grill they treat me with respect, and they remember who I am and they’re very kind to me! I love the food! I like to treat myself out on Tuesday nights! Who can not afford to treat yourself out for $6.50! I like to get the food here as well I absolutely love the burgers and french fries! And I always wait to see what the monthly special is going to be or being a repeat, patron! You got a great thing happening here at the studio movie Grill! I wish the best of success for every person who makes a difference at the studio movie Grill! I can’t wait to return for my next movie!
I actually love this app, love the$10/year membership that ultimately saves us tons in fees, and love SMG in general. They are by far our favorite theaters! I knocked off a star, because the app used to have this feature that allowed you to add your ticket purchase to Apple wallet/calendar. It’s not available anymore, so that you have to go all the way into the “purchase” section in the app to retrieve your tickets. Used to, I could double click my phone button to open wallet and there were my movie tickets! Please bring that feature back!
We are going this Saturday for the special needs showing, and I want to preview the menu at home before we go. The problem is that there’s no way to just look at the menu without going through the ordering process and selecting your seats— and they don’t sell tickets for the SN showing online. For that matter, even if we were buying tickets to a regular showing, I would probably want to see the menu first before ordering tickets. We’ve been coming to SMG regularly for years, but this is our first time since covid, and we have no idea if the menu has changed or if we’ll be able to order our old favorites. It would be nice to be able to see the menu without having to go through the whole order process.
I tried to book some seats earlier, and order food. But the timer ran out, so I lost the seats AND my order. The seats were now “sold”, more likely disabled choices for me. So I had to start all over. Less than 10 mins to book your tickets and figure out what to eat and enter your credit card info is just not enough time. Not only that, you get charged a convenience fee, which I guess is standard. On top of that there’s tip if you’re getting food (you tip ahead of time, BEFORE you get their service!). I’m paying over 60$ now for just 2 people. It’s a lot of money, the app could at least be as convenient as their “convenience” fee suggests. My low rating is strictly for the app experience. It works fine UI is good, but their experience needs work, see the title I used.
I became a Director’s member with SMG for my love of movies, the familial experience, and the advanced atmosphere that this company offered. As life gets normal again, an entertaining movie at SMG with my wife is still enjoyable and worth it. Plus, Studio Movie Grill’s “community give back” program is a great idea. I became a director level member for the perks and really everything has been going well. I can only say that gaining points and being able to redeem is a hassle where you have to contact corporate and that if they even respond back. I sent them a message asking them how I can redeem my points three weeks ago and I have not heard from them at all. I spoke with a manger at an SMG location and she said she doesn't even know how to redeem the points. It feels like they don’t train there employees in ALL aspects of the services rendered by the company. I still wish this part would be a lot easier.
App is only good for purchasing tickets, but you can also do that on the website without have another app on your device. I thought we could order food instead of waiting 15+ mins for a server, but you cannot order via the app. Can’t even redeem rewards via the app, the server apologized and just gave us a soda for free for the trouble. I have to email support with a photo of every single food receipt to get the points added to my acct now that I paid for the director membership. Seems tedious for me to do, but also a waste of your company money as you’re paying real people to add points to my acct every time I order food.. when the app is literally advertised to do this.
I loved this app so much! I have the directors pass and visit SMG at least once a week. I love ordering through my phone because it’s less interaction with staff and with my anxiety that’s a big deal, and also because it adds it to my bill automatically and I don’t have to have a second charge to my card. Now that feature is gone! And anytime I order from the staff I never get my reward points. It’s a flawed system and for the prices of everything you’d expect the experience to be smoother.

I Am A SMG Director Member & I Feel Like The App Needs A Huge Update. As A Member, It Is A Terrible Experience For Me & Many Others. Here’s What Should Change: - Add The Food Menu To The App. I Don’t Even Know What To Order. Very Surprised This Isn’t In The App - The Settings Tab Is Very Confusing & Unorganized. It Looks Outdated & Was Made Before 2010 - Have A Way To View Your Gift Card Balance & Credits. I Can Only See How Many Points I Have… - Have A Way To Be Able To Change Your Account Settings Through The App. I Don’t Feel Like I Am Signed Into One - The Home Screen Is Always Outdated With The Movies. For Example, When A Movie Has Already Been Released, It Still Says It’s Coming Soon. Not Sure Why This Is… - There Is No Way To Contact Support Through The App. This Was A Problem Recently For Me The App Is Just A Huge Disappointment, Hope They Have A HUGE Update Soon…
The latest updated app will not allow me to purchase tickets after entering my payment information on the last page. I acknowledge the terms and conditions but the button you press to pay is greyed out and doesn't do anything when you do press it. I have purchased three tickets every week for Saturday showings over the last year, but unfortunately have been unable to use the app lately due to this error.
The app is great at making general purchases simple but anything other than that, no help really How do I request a refund? The app definitely is simple, and not in a great way. I purchased the wrong day and want to change dates. Also, at the checkout page it would be helpful to have the date and time of the tickets appear when the final button to purchase is present. Also how do the points work? Any feedback or a Refund would be appreciated.
I really like the convenience of this app. We use it every time we go to the movies. It would be nice if it was easier to switch times when looking at the same movie. If there is a way I haven’t seen, I have to go back to select all the movies then scroll to the one I want every time.
I don’t know who disabled the order food option on the app . It’s so stupid . I have director level access and I am thinking to cancel it because if I can’t order food on app then I am not earning points and If I am not earning points then I can’t redeem . I am not going to call SMG and have them manually add points . For just two people , me and my wife . I always spend over a 100 bucks there . They need to bring the order food service back on the app .
The ability to order tickets in the app great. Reserve the seats you want way in advance! Ordering food and drink is also easy, they just show up after trailers and interrupt the movie watching experience.
This app is convenient for ticket purchase only. Can’t order food. The older version you could order food but didn’t communicate your order to movie theater.
It’s always clean and peaceful and food fresh for the most part. My fav is the wings super fresh … they could do better with no charging for celery and carrots lol I thought it always came with wings where ever you go. But hey it’s still a cool place to watch a good flick :-)
Option to add food with purchase of tickets is gone
My father and I go to the location in Tyler Texas about once a month and just today I went to try and add our meal with the purchase of our tickets and I didn’t have the option to do so any longer. What’s going on with that? Please respond.
I’ve been an avid studio movie grill goer since December of 2021 and have only gone to studio movie grill since! Love the ability to order whatever I want directly to me in the theater whether it be popcorn, a hot meal or ice cream to alcohol, this place has it all.
Hands down my favorite theater! Love the service and being able to sip and watch a movie with the family the only negative is the chairs but even then I still love it.
We are so excited to have SMG available in Bakersfield! Living in Santa Barbara with dilapidated theaters is so unappealing. We’ve enjoyed cineplex in Westlake But SMG has better luxurious seating, delicious food and friendly atmosphere! Huge professional kitchen A Nice treat! ♥️🧨🇺🇸
Every time I need to reference my tickets I spend way too long looking for where they’re located in the app. It’d be great if there was an easy access popup in the app to bring up tickets around the time of the movie showing or a button to see them.
Where or how do I add another CC? The automatic scan did not work on my Barclays MC. How long do I did to hold the card in place for site to scan my card?
Service could be improved. Some servers have wonderful attitudes and get orders correct the first time. Other servers have nonchalant attitudes and mess up orders causing frustration. Seats at North Point are awesome! The SMG app is awesome but there are no specials offered on the app.
Menu online says order through the app but after going through the hassle of downloading, registering, and surrendering your personal information, you realize there is no way to order food through the app. SMG personnel confirmed this. Two star app at best.
I hope you add the option to order food from this app. The servers are great, but it gets busy at the very beginning and if some people ordered on the app it would alleviate that issue.
App was great while you could order tickets and food. Now they have removed the ability to order food. Why? Only reason I can think of is to enforce their mandatory 18% gratuity. When ordering on the app you could tip more or less. Now they make it more difficult to order, and pay your tab.
Great concept and the food is good but the seats are not the best. Not comfortable for my 6’2” husband. They also are not as comfortable as some other theaters. We go often bc it’s closest to our home.
The app no longer allows us to order ahead and will not tell the prices of things. I feel like this is a gimmick to get you to come in and get stuck with whatever they want to charge that day.
If you push the button now they want charge you an additional 18% service charge even for water. I was told I could use the app … but it will take longer . That is just horrible customer service
I loved this easy to use app but now it won’t let us check out… I’ve tried to contact support but support redirected me to buy tickets through the app. …but the app won’t let me buy tickets through the app.
App it terrible. Have to search around for everything. Have to do two separate orders for multiple seats. It’s jsut a bad experience. Will just order from the location from now on.
As a loyal customer to SMG I don’t find it reasonable to charge a booking fee when using their app. I would agree to a charge when its through a third party. Could also update the movie seats. They are already rundown.
I downloaded it. But I could not use it at all, because it says my password was wrong, and I never received any password reset email. And I tried to register on it, but it said I m already a member. ......
I hate that you have to ‘send order’ sooo much. And there is no more button at your seat to request help if they forget to bring your silverware. First time back to the movies and its such a hassle its not worth it.
This theater is booty cheeks bra, why do they tax for food😭😭 yall must be broke ash takin these ppl for processed food 🤦🏾♀️. Never coming here again . I recommend going to epic theater up in clermont this is ridiculous 😐. It’s to Boujee for me I stg I’m never coming back .
