Close but with a big flaw
I’ve tried the app a few times and successfully ordered food. Each time though it wasn’t as seamless as other apps, so this one falls below the standard. Mainly, it has not saved my credit card at least once if not twice. Also, when I try to enter my card on ngo, pasting is disabled so I have to check 1Password for my card number then switch to spot on to enter as many digits as I remember then back to 1Password (unlock with Face ID again) then back to Spot On to enter more digits and repeat as many times as necessary to get it all entered. It’s enough of a pain for me to call it out here. Please fix the pasting issue or just add Apple Pay to make this app way more useful in my opinion. Thanks.

Terrible password reset process
I’m quite surprised that I got into the app, but through some persistence and careful guesswork, I managed to interpret (and follow) the password reset process. I almost feel like clapping for the developers - you did it! Except yikes, precisely why did you design it exactly that way - to keep everyone out? I could report the several flaws that I ran into if that would be helpful, but I only want to type them out if someone is listening. And honestly, why can’t a person on the inside notice what’s wrong, anyway? I’ve found that most problems occur because nobody who is in charge has ever encountered or had to face the issue, so I hope this message reaches someone who is now willing to attempt to reset their own password without thinking about anything they already know about the process.

Wish I could give 0 stars
Seems like this app is a scam. Had issues with a food order and couldn’t cancel it because there was no option on the app. There is no record of the order on the app, pretty sure it’s a scam. Placed the order on a Friday and contacted the app customer service immediately and they said they would get back to me within an hour. Fast forward to Monday and still never got a response. I had to contact them again. Finally someone reached out asking for the restaurants information but after I answered no response again. I reached out again on Tuesday only to get an email saying that I need to contact the restaurant. I deal with DoorDash, Ubereats, and grubhub all the time and I’ve never experienced this. There was legitimately 0 effort to help me out, again because it’s probably a scam. I don’t recommend anybody use this app, it’s complete garbage.

First impression
First impressions can be a big thing. And the first thing you see when you look at the map when you find businesses in a certain area is a lot of little icons that look like would be different businesses but all come up under the same name. I thought “man. That’s weird, this fishing guide has 3 different addresses and icons” only to find out you have to zoom in really close for it to fix that glitch. This is what I’ve found in about 1 minute of using the app. Normally I’d dump it because that seems like something that should be an obvious fix before releasing and I haven’t even really gotten into the app yet. But I feel like I should give it a chance and see if they fix it in an upcoming update. Like really soon.

Poor account setup
The app is mostly fine but I’m giving 2 stars for the fact that you can’t merge accounts. I have 2 accounts now somehow and have no way to attach my name or email to one of them. Customer support didn’t really have an answer for me, which is annoying and (obviously) unhelpful. If you can keep track of a single account then it is helpful and fun to get rewards.

User Experience is Indeed Spot On
I have been using this app for about a year now. I’ll be honest, initially it was pretty rough. In the last year though it has improved by leaps and bounds. It is easier to use, seems to perform better, and is all around a more polished user experience. I love that they added Apple Pay and the menus are now easier to navigate. The thing I like most about what SpotOn seems to do though is it really seems to benefit local businesses, which I’m a big fan of. Kudos to the team, and keep it up.

Horrible app and customer service
This app used to work fine but all of a sudden it stopped working for me. My payment information remained the same and all of a sudden I started receiving error messages when trying to place orders. I tried to contact the spot on customer service team and no one really did much to try to figure this out. I even had one employee say “maybe the restaurant is closed” after I had explained my situation to her. This was extremely unprofessional and insulting. I will no longer use this app to place my orders and I encourage businesses to utilize a different company for online order placing.

Irritating and basically useless
It never remembers that I registered so I try to register then it tells me that I am registered then I try and it tells me that it doesn’t know me, etc, etc, etc. It forced my roommate to reset his password 4 times and once he finally got in to order it was like he was a new customer even though he’s used it a lot. I’ve begged my favorite restaurant to stop using it and I’ve pretty much stopped ordering from that restaurant and won’t use any restaurant that uses this app. Oh, and it forces you to register so if you don’t, it won’t let you order from that restaurant.

Poor Implementation / Low Value
Downloaded it his app thinking it would be faster than ordering over the phone. Boy was I wrong. Interface is clunky, requiring too many precise clicks which is less than easy with larger fingers. Finally got to checkout only to be told to update my pickup time. More clicks. Back to checkout only to get api errors after authorizing payment through Apple Pay. Wasted close to five minutes on this hot mess. Total time on the phone ordering less than a minute. Sometimes new isn’t better.

terrible app does not work!
from the customer perspective this app is useless, only manages to make sure my credit card gets charged but apparently the retailers dont get your order even though there is a rec'd order message after being charged. no email confirmation or text confirmation, no history of what you ordered, completely useless. when I arrived I still had to wait to pick up because they never got the order! cant imagine this being good for a business, either, absolute trash! chownow, weebly or square use those!

A local with a love for deals
I love this app because it allows me to get loyalty on places I have already been frequenting and trade in my spots for discounts or items at my fave places. The app it’s self is pretty easy to use. I just wish they had more businesses on the app

Can’t order food from the app anymore
I’d give no star if I can. I used to use SpotOn app on my iPhone to order food. It was easy and convenient. However, I couldn’t do that anymore since a few months ago. Now I have to go to the restaurant’s website to order food although it’s still through SpotOn. What’s going on, SpotOn? What’s the use of your app if I can’t order through it? I don’t need to see the review of the restaurants. There are apps much better than yours to see the reviews.

Payment UI is bad
No Apple Pay. No auto fill credit card information. No Copy paste. I gave up since I didn’t feel like entering all the digits by hand. I instead reverted to the website version. I had to enter my order twice. Funny thing is the restaurant said using Spoton is easier than ordering at the counter. Spoton says the app is easier than the website. Neither was true.

I love this app. I can easily see who is offering deals in my area, and use the app to check in at those businesses. Also, the 24/7 customer support is outstanding! It’s a free app, what have you got to lose?!

Where did in app ordering go?
I used to be able to order from within the app from my local cafe, but the order form no longer shows up. When ordering within the app worked, it was functional but not as good a UX as other apps.

A nice way to be able to order from favorite restaurants, see what rewards I have to redeem, and good customer support 😊 sometimes the app has a few bugs it seems, but nonetheless, helpful!!!

App can't math
Attempted to order from a local Ramen restaurant. Went to place my order, was told that minimum needed to be $30. Added items until subtotal was over $30. Still presented error message. Added another $2 item. Still wouldn't let me place the order. Happened through this app as well as the React web-based version. App fails at basic math.

App built by someone who doesn’t use apps?
When placing an order through the app, the payment system is a nightmare. Definitely no Apple Pay, but also no way to paste in credit card details (that I store securely in a password manager). I’m not sure the developers have actually tried the app out, because the customer experience is painful.

There is something wrong with this app it’s not even opening up to go to the restaurant to see your account and rewards at a local restaurant Why is the app not working and why are the bugs not fixed or updated. This app has been off for some time now!

Worst food ordering app I have ever encountered
Exasperating setup, no history and now I can no longer figure out how to order. The people who created this seem mostly interested in find merchants. The customer experience is awful. The web site is almost as bad. Would never try it again but my favorite restaurant mistakenly got duped into using it.

Not user friendly
After creating my account, my password would not work so I had to reset it. The email link takes me to the login page. Not user friendly at all!! I use a lot of apps but this one needs some bugs worked out. I cannot even log back into my account to order.

This doesn’t work
Doesn’t work with password keychain, doesn’t let you use cards from wallet, won’t even let you paste Apple Card number into number field, and crashed upon completing transaction. I’m deleting now, and probably won’t go to any restaurant that asks me to use this app.

Will not work on iPhone 6s
Installed Spot On on my work phone (iPhone 6s) and it would not even let me enter my email address during setup. I tried again using the Facebook interface and it said it couldn’t retrieve my email address. I uninstalled it. Fix this and I’ll upgrade my review accordingly.

I am very unhappy.
I cannot create an account and start earning rewards at one of my favorite restaurants. The app will not accept my phone number or my wife’s. I have contacted the helpline and have never had a response. I am very sad it doesn’t work for me.

This app is a joke.
Counter intuitive interface, and errors when making payment. I felt like I was in 2010 when I was using the app. No excuse for the issues in this day, hard to believe they charge businesses for a system that doesn’t work.

Useless
My app has not worked for 6 or more months now. At first customer service seemed to be helpful. They made some efforts to get it fixed for me. But when they couldn’t figure out the problem they just stopped responding. Now they just ignore my emails altogether.

Bad UX
I am stuck in a loop unable to reset my password. Send email. Click link. Force open in app. App doesn’t understand reset. Try again. This time open link I’m browser. Browser forces back to app. App still doesn’t know what to do. Repeat. Ad. Nauseum.

Poor development
The app won’t let me do anything past entering my email address to sign up. I’ve got a reward for a place I frequent that requires me to make an account, but it’s going to expire because this app doesn’t work.
