Worth the money

I have really enjoyed being able to study on the go. I listen while cleaning, driving and more. However, I wish there was a way to listen without my phone screen being on, I wish that I could leave the app and come back where I left off, but the section within the chapter restarts. I wish I knew sooner that retaking the practice exam gives new questions, I thought it was like the quizzes that repeat the same questions..and I’m doing US history 2 and one of the lecturers sounds as though she has a speech impediment which I’m not judging but makes it difficult to understand what she’s trying to say.

They don’t care about feedback—many mistakes!

They make it super HARD to give feedback. There are many mistakes in the Spanish 145, 147 practice tests, but they make it nearly impossible to get help. Can’t even discuss with anyone! One example: “Which question word would you use to find out in what year Picasso painted a painting?” Obviously, it would be “¿En QUE año”, but they marked it wrong saying it was “CUANDO”…and it’s nearly impossible to send that in to them. They should make it simple; why am I paying a Premium for this service when it’s inaccurate at best, and when I ask for clarification, their responses are aloof? They reply to my request for a fix (or at least clarification) with things like “we need more info”, but only allow for one screen shot per submission. There are at least a dozen more errors, and while I believe it would be a waste of my time reporting them all, I maintain that they are doing a HUGE disservice to their all-trusting customers. Still, though, this story program is better than some prep courses, IF the test is on this material (but it could be better if they actually valued feedback), but it’s so expensive…wondering how much they pay their contributors, & could I get a free month or two for my useful corrections? I mean, they do aim for accuracy, right? Guess I’m wrong on both accounts.

Could be better-Content is good but usability needs improvement

The content is definitely on the mark. The problem is usability, especially with the mobile app. The developers really need to think harder about how someone is going to use this. While the tutorial videos are likely to be viewed on a desktop/laptop while seated at a desk, it’s possible but less likely that it will be used that way on a mobile device-especially a phone. It’s far more likely that a person is going to want to study flash cards or key formulas on their phone—a quick reinforcement on the go. It’s very difficult to find the flashcards. There also should be a way to save a link to the flash card sets so you don’t have to waste time searching for them. When you only have a few minutes, a person wants to get in, study something quick, and get out. This aspect really needs improvement. It’s a little overpriced considering how poorly that aspect is executed. Use from a pc while at a desk so you can take notes and work out sample problems and such is very good. Downgrading my review from 3 stars to 2 stars. Support for questions regarding content is very poor.

App crashing/They hide most reviews that complain

The app is constantly crashing and I have to delete and reinstall the app multiple times a day. The courses just disappear in the middle of a quiz and then there’s nothing. Just a hello screen. I have tried to contact support several times and support does not respond to my emails. So the generic response to contact support is useless since you do not respond. This is not a cheap app and someone shouldn’t have to fight it every day in order to use it. And they should definitely not be ignored when trying to get support for a crashed app. I wrote a review before and explained all my problems and my review was not published. After writing another review about them deleting my previous review, my review magically appeared. If you notice, there is only a couple of reviews recently. With the number of customers they have, they probably are getting plenty of complaints. Since they hid my review, I assume they do it for others as well. Their app rating is bogus

Content Gaps

The app was very easy to use and I enjoyed the convenience of both being able to study anywhere and the many practice questions. However, the content included in the lessons left me with more questions than answers. There was content not included in a lesson that showed up in the practice question, and many times the lesson neglects to mention how/why something was done. Additionally, several lessons were unnecessary for the curriculum of the test. The app was fine, but in terms of actual study/learning material, you’re better off going somewhere else. There were a few occasions though, such as when you hit the provide feedback button, the keyboard blocks the text box and you cannot scroll down to see what you type. It frequently exited me out of the quizzes I was taking as well when I switched to my calculator and came back.

$30 a month!

Im an elementary school teacher. The videos are great. The tests are a little too difficult and some are only a few questions meaning grades get low very quickly. I had no idea this subscription was $30/month. For simple videos this is very pricey. It makes me sad that my kids can’t use this because it’s already cost me a $100 for a few months and with thanksgiving and now Xmas holiday I don’t use it. I’m a single mom And a foster parent. Im not looking for sympathy but just wish these kind of resources were more affordable. I only need the 3rd grade standards so even if they just charged by the course (I can’t use a lot of the other content, and I would think for most people it’s the same). I’m Asking for a refund so hopefully customer service can help me out.

Affordable college credit! Best purchase ever!

I’ve been using the app for a few months now to obtain college credit. This truly is great for all types of learners! I didn’t think it would work well for me as I typically learn by hands on or interacting with an instructor. But I’ve had great success with this program! And I must say that the tech support is pretty great too. They corrected an app issue within days of being reported. The videos are awesome and the short quizzes at the end of each really help me to retain new knowledge! To the teachers: Thanks for the hard work and great material! I’m definitely going to continue paying for it until I’ve gotten all the credit I can since it’s much cheaper than traditional schools.

Worth the money

My style of learning. The videos are straight to the point and explains concepts in a digestible way. You also get the videos transcript. If that isn’t enough the material is also broken down in small units that you can read. After each unit you can take a short quiz 5 question quiz to test your knowledge. You also get 10 free questions that you can ask subject matter “experts” - who answers your question within the day. After you burn through the 10 free questions you can RE-up each question would be $4 or buy a package of 10 for $40.

Practice tests are full of errors

I love the UI and the teaching methodology for this app and website. I would give them 5 stars. Other tools are not as good, but the content has not been professionally edited and there are way too many errors, over 5% of the quiz and test questions, in my experience. The company responds that errors happen, but every time I find an error it creates confusion in my study process and hurts my confidence in the material. I did not pass my exam even though I had competed the entire course work, every quiz and practice test. The only logical reason for me, as I’ve passed many test before, is the content issues created brain fog for me, and reduced my confidence in the material that I learned.

Saved me THOUSANDS of dollars

This platform has given me a new lease on life! It’s allowed me to save THOUSANDS on my college tuition. I use this platform to take courses that will transfer directly over to my Cybersecurity degree program through Western Governor’s University. The app is never buggy, always accessible on my iPhone or iPad, so I can literally take my learning with me anywhere I go! The exams and proctoring are much less complicated than other sites as well. Can’t recommend this resource enough for anyone considering going back to school. Safe your money and try this!

Great way to learn, but the app needs work.

Great content, material throughly explained, very easy to digest..Extremely thankful that I’ve come across a such platform, however the app needs work. I’m presently experiencing poor functionality in which I’ve never experienced once before. The app tends to time out, and shut down at random. Lesson pages take forever to reload..which can become a huge frustration. For the cost, we definitely need better efficiency. Wish that I could give you guys 5 stars..because truly, this is a GREAT way to learn. However there’s definitely a need for improvement in this area.

honestly so amazing!

I am trying to get out of high school as early as possible (I am homeschooled) and the GED study guide is so good! The lessons are incredibly easy to follow along and understand. There are so many features that make it easy for me to learn. The CC on every video helps with my ADHD, and the lessons are worded very well so that it’s easy to pay attention to! I also like that I can track my progress, pick a custom schedule, do quizzes to test my progress and more! A very good app and 100% recommend if you are looking for something to help with school!

Passed FTCE Biology 6-12 as a non-bio, non-teaching major with the help of this

I used this tool as recommended by a Florida teacher to pass the Biology FTCE. It was a MAJOR part in my success. Here’s what I did: -Watched videos/ read text and took quizzes until I got 100s on each one. -Used a guide book as a general pointer of what I needed to study in the field of Biology. - Took book diagnostic tests (about 5 times) - Took online exams that mimicked the FTCE exam - Got a teaching mentor and a good mental well being support group. At times I thought this tool was TOO in depth and thought I was wasting my time.. thinking there’s no chance that Okazaki fragments would show up on the test.. guess what- they sure did! This tool saved my bacon. I used it on a weekly basis (4-5 days for 1-2 hours) It took me 6 months of prep, having had a 5 year gap between my humanities degree and no studying in between to pass the first time. Invest in yourself, invest in this tool :)

Really confused

. The only reason I gave it a high rating was for you to read it but to me it gets ⭐️ this many stars. I was watching a video that was talking about x and y and it said y was up and down, and x was sideways, then when it was explaining an equation, it said x was up and down and y was sideways make up your mind. There is something else i don’t like, it was talking about unknown value and they did the examples to fast, my mom had to stop what she was doing and explain it to me, so y’all really need to work on that.😡😡😡

Horrible customer service/broken ‘cancel’ link

I really hate giving such a low rating but any app who has a broken link to cancel a subscription is a scam. I finally found a place to report a problem with the link and left this note: I actually really like the app and may have used it again if needed but if I can’t cancel cause the link won’t work then no way. That’s a crap way to keep someone from cancelling and will force me to dispute the charge with my credit card if I can’t cancel. I was then sent an email saying they would cancel but also had this attached to it (direct copy from the email from ‘Maurice’): ‘We would appreciate civility on communications as a common courtesy for all parties. We will give consideration on this one but any further communication with horrible language and approach will be deleted and blocked. Thank you for your understanding.’ First they scam you with an inactive cancel system then they send an email insulting you. I liked the material and may have used it again for my kids if needed but NO WAY will I do it now. Using the word crap won’t even cause a g rated film to lose its rating.

Bad costumer service and a set up

I been taking classes for two weeks now, trying to finish so I douhave to pay much, but this is a set up. Write many emails trying to contact someone and when they answer with an email no one give the answer I ask for. Everyone give the same answer and don't really help with the questions Im concerned. When I ask for a call back 3 times never call back. I been talling them that I'm struggling with the course for two weeks and no support respond. THIS IS A SET UP. They take two weuto review a test, not even Harvard takes this long. It's a set up so you don't finish the class in one month, and keep paying the membership. I'm very disappointed, Im a mom with 3 kids with no money and time to loose. This is sad and unbelievable.

Needs improvements

Criminal Justice says there are 107 (or so) chapters but I can only see 11! Navigating is convoluted and not very simple. I should be able to toggle back and forth easier than I can. I think you need to have more input from people who aren’t the developers so you can find out where to make improvements. Also I gave you guys my credit card because I need the help. But I was never told what the cost is up front. It just says free trial...You can do better. I might cancel this if I don’t see improvements within the30 day time frame which would be too bad because I have two kids who also enjoy using this app!

More user friendly

The app is great but I wish it was more user friendly for people with low vision. I think the app would be perfect if we could zoom in on the review questions. Or have a speaking option when reading the questions. The app was glitching and wouldn’t let me select the answer for the practice questions. Not sure if it’s a bug but the app would be great if maybe there was a few adjustments.

Rip off! Potential teachers who don’t have $299 don’t need to study apparently

Was very excited about this opportunity because everywhere I turn I’m getting money squeezed out of me for this process of getting my credentials. Our family isn’t poor but we don’t have all this money to dump into study material to ensure I pass my exam. Thought this would be a good chance for me to learn and practice. Was nice until I tried to take the practice exam and found out I could answer 1 question before being asked to subscribe! $299!!! Jesus! That’s more than it costs to actually take the test. Why is every book, app, and study guide so expensive! God forbid someone tries to succeed who doesn’t have endless amounts of money! Very disappointed!

I would love to use this as a research reference

But one problem I hate the fact that there isn't a way to sign up that isn't free. Not all people have an online way ability to pay for your lessons. I admire your clearness in your lessons on your regular website, but this is the same stupid issue I have with Nation Geographic. It's like you're begging for only online money both of you. There are so many animal articles I wish I could read from you, but I can't because I never done online pay. Personally I do prefer your site over National Geographic website. I'm an adult and yet I do not earn much.

Helpful Study Methods and Tracking

The app gives ample feedback and allows you to see areas you need additional review in. The only setback is if you switch to audio mode on videos, the app doesn’t always synch and loses your place. If you’re aware of the headings and content you’re on it’s not as big of a deal, but definitely a challenge when driving and trying to pick up where you left off.

So far so good!

About 30% into my first course with the intention of using SDC as a college accelerator for my next degree program. Everything is easy to digest and consise. No real complaints thus far. I like that I get motivators in the form of a text message to encourage me to keep pushing through while also letting me know my current progress in the current program of study. Looking forward to the final exam as well as deep diving into the rest of my courses!

Expensive but worth it

I was unsure about spending the money on this without being sure I would like this app or that it would even help me better understand! I’m using this app to prepare for a final exam. The lessons in it break everything down I learned in class, and read in my book, and helps me better understand everything!! It is so worth it and I just wish I had found this app much sooner

I just had to leave a review.

This is the ultimate best education app I’ve found. You can look up basically any class - from high school to college and also it has specific Uexcel courses and Clep - if you’re testing out for college credit. They even have a chemistry certificate course. I can’t tell you how invaluable this app has been for me. The lessons make everything extremely easy to learn and study for. I can’t recommend this enough for people . Worth the money? Oh yeah.

Studying for the HESI exam

I’ve been doing some studying using the computer and my phone. Love the ability to study using the phone, the app was easier to use than the computer, as I was repeating the 50 question quizzes and not really learning. I just couldn’t find the lessons. Also there is A&P study questions but the HESI TEST only consist of 3 sections, vocabulary, math, and reading comprehension. So I’m not sure of why the science part is on the study guide.

Easy to use

I really enjoy using this app. One of the best features is that you can download videos to your phone and listen to them or watch them while you’re on the go. I will connect my phone to my car and listen to the video lessons while I am driving to and from work. The app connects to your online account so when you open the app and login, all of the courses that you selected online appear automatically. Great app.

The BEST study for credit program... period!!!

I am only 4 classes away from my bachelors from being finished and I am sad I did not find this earlier!!! I could have saved sooo much time and finished school early. At least 3 of the 4 are in this program. I am ecstatic because the videos, progress checks, and simplicity of the app makes me so happy. I love this app. Comprehension and learning this way is wayyyyyyyy better than any of my college courses.

If it works, it’s alright

The exams and study guides have a lot of information and can be very helpful. They have videos and reading for all different types of learners. The problem is, A) it’s expensive B) the app barely works Most of the time during a quiz I have to click on answer submissions multiple times. The placement test is finicky, and often runs into errors and cannot save your results. This is fine on the computer because you can see the correct answers prior to the test and learn from that; from the phone app, however, this is problematic and results in a big waste of time.

Useful Information - Subscription Required for Courses

You can view excerpts of the information available which may be enough for if you’re just looking for certain information, but to view anything in it’s entirety or to take a course you have to sign up and pay $60 a month for unlimited access and you can cancel at anytime. I was disappointed seeing no in-app purchase in apps the description.

Boring

This app is okay, not the best though. For me, the videos are very boring and there voice isn’t enthusiastic. They practically speak like a robot and it just makes it so hard to pay attention. It also doesn’t have a recent search history so I can just click on different topics. I’m also not a big fan of the light theme and the overall layout. However, it does look better on mobile than it does on a computer. Overall, I’d give it a 3/5 for how boring it gets.

Worth the money!

I am a college kid that is always busy and on the go. This app makes it easy for me to study while I’m in the gym or car ride home. It is really proving to help me understand the knowledge I need. The software is also super easy to navigate through which nowadays is a problem for older adults. No matter you experience with technology you can excel in studying using this app.

Good content, biased visuals

I have used this app to help me with my teacher certification exams. And I find the content to be extremely helpful. The breakdown and quizzes and spot on to maintain information. However, I find the visuals to be extremely stereotypical and racist. When discussing negative and abnormal behaviors, the characters are usually Black and male. When discussing normal and positive behaviors white characters are used. We are in a time where this cannot be accepted anymore. I also believe that there should be diversity of characters used throughout the courses.

Dashboard LOVE HATE

Why do I need to open both my app and computer to assign my son his classes for the week. Each and every class assigned to him should be listed and put into the proper category, the program should also know what class is next and be easy to assign I spend hours going around and around on your dashboard to find the classes I assigned the classes he completed the classes he needs to complete the upcoming week it really should not be this challenging to assign classes This will be the #1 reason I leave your program

Great app

I’ve been using this to prepare for the upcoming TACHS exam and it is amazing. Great questions, practice quizzes and tests. Videos are very informative as well. Only room for improvement is the videos quality. The speakers microphone is slightly outdated, making it even harder to understand the mama accent. It isn’t to the point where I can’t understand, but would be nicer if updated.

Great but very expensive

Although in lots of ways this app is invaluable & has helped significantly in helping me study for the TEAS—it is extremely expensive. It’s almost worth it because the lessons are so fantastic & broken down perfectly but wish they offered a low income option. I did the 30 day free trial and fell in love but really cannot afford to spend 2 dollars a day on it as it is 60 dollars a month.

Bad interface

The interface of the app isn’t that great. The website and the material itself are great but I often find that parts of the lesson are cut off because the app must not be compatible with every iPhone screen. It’s pretty frustrating to navigate the app sometimes and I frequently have to close it out and re-load it. Very buggy and I hope their engineers are trying to fix this. Makes studying on the phone unenjoyable

It’s fine but there’s a problem

The app is fine, but what’s not is 5th grade science on chapter 10 lessons 5-10 is talking about sex like dude that’s not really appropriate, lesson 7 especially isn’t! my point is why are you guys teaching this to 10 and 11 year olds? It also made me a little uncomfortable answering those quiz questions. Except for that the apps nice 👍🏼

Missing quizzes/tests

I have noticed a lot of finished quizzes and tests not showing as done. My son takes them on his account and they should transfer over and show done on the main account. They also don’t transfer over to the grade book on the web version. Other than that (which is kind of big because the grade book is pointless if it doesn’t get all grades) I enjoy the app and site. The videos have been helping my son.

Get this!

If you know that you study different from others and need to use pictures, sound, and video this is an amazing study guide. All 23 chapters have modules throughout the chapters and quizzes after each module. It’s the audio, video and reads for me!!! This is a Life saver. The reads, video lessons, quizzes and exams are organized just right. They are short and keep you moving right along the chaptersz

This is a great investment!!

I recently was pulled out of school for reasons I can’t mention, and my mother had no idea how to educate me. After months and months of searching for things, she found study, and it helps so much! I can learn at my own pace! (Much faster than the public schools) and it has so many courses I can take!!! Thank you study!! 😋

Great subscription, but pricey

I purchased this to study for my PE CSETs. However, I quickly discovered that there are many lessons I can incorporate to Google Classroom for my History, AVID and PE classes. This is especially great for distance learning! I wish it wasn’t so expensive, though. My principal agreed to purchase it for me until she found out the price. Once my CSETs are over, I will sadly discontinue my subscription.

Look no further! This app is incredible! So easy to digest, with lessons that cover everything needed in so many subject areas. I am so thankful for such an amazing tool to have and to use anytime, anywhere. I am learning so much! Thank you to everyone who worked really hard in developing this program!! It is worth every penny! Best investment EVER!

Monthly charge ....

First I was hesitant on paying for something I was not sure about but this app is very helpful when you need to understand something visually or quickly. I would give 10 thumbs up but I only have 2 :) Thank developers this app has been my helper on long and hard working but still studying days! Helped get my assignments in on time too!

Worst customer service

I pay $60 a month for this and it’s crap. The app won’t let me submit grades, I have to constantly update my password, the keys are very sticky, but the worst part is that I emailed them and heard nothing back. I called NINE TIMES, got a “real” person 3 of those times who transferred me to someone in technical support. That led to the instant VM to leave a message and they would get back to me. I left 3 messages and finally got an email back wanting more information on my issues... I explained again. I have not heard back. I am contacting my bank to dispute the charges. Too bad.. it’s a great concept.

Excellent

I used this app for my SHRM CP exam and I learned so much. However, the problem is, when I took the test, everything that I learned on this app, none of it was on the exam. I still give this app 5 stars because I did learn a lot. SHRM is a set up and basically to pass the exam, you need their study material which cost over $1,000.

Amazing way to learn.

This app feels like a game changer. Bite sized lessons help keep you from getting overwhelmed. They have text and video lessons to mix it up. There are quizzes at the end of every lesson and test at the end of every chapter. They even helped you set and keep your learning goals with text and or email alerts.

NO FREE TRIAL!!! You WILL be charged on day 1!

The courses for test prep are fine. The lessons are short but give you what you need. For math, i prefer Kahn Academy because his lessons are simple, to the point, and don’t make me feel like a 5th grader...for free. HOWEVER, the free 30 day trial for this app/website is NOT free! I was immediately charged $59 the day i signed up. Based on other reviews, I’m afraid to ask for a refund right now for fear I will be locked out of the content. I do still have a test to study for. Wish i had read the reviews first. DONT ADVERTISE THAT SOMETHING IS FREE WHEN IT IS NOT!

Great idea!

While googling an answer to a question this app came up. Looked cool and had an informative video covering the definition of the word I was looking up. To see it, I did the trial membership option. I did not continue the membership and received a refund (after some time due to corona) I see the value in this app, very informative on the topic I researched.

Great for HESI

I had 2 1/2 weeks to prepare for the HESI due to timing of enrollment into a program so I needed a fast review on everything. Fortunately I work in the healthcare field so it was a review and not needing to learn from scratch. This app was absolutely the reason I passed on the first try only missing a handful of questions for the entire test.

Problems viewing video lessons on the app

Not all of the video lessons are visible in the app as compared to the website. For instance, under my 1st chapter in the Integrated social studies, only the first 6 lessons are viewable. There is no scroll bar to scroll down and reach the rest of the lessons on the app. I have to actually use the official internet website to access the other video lessons. Can you guys fix this? Contact me if you have questions about what I’m referring to. For $60 a month, this shouldnt be an issue.
