Notifications are really poorly done

The app is okay. The ads are annoying but I can live with them. However, the breaking news notifications are making me consider removing the app. I love breaking news notifications. I have a bunch of apps that do them. This one, and I am not exaggerating, are terrible. They are not breaking news. Why do I need a notification that a 1 year old is still looking for her 3 year old sister who died in a car crash? Do you really feel the need to notify that three treasure coast children have died since Christmas, after notifying me multiple times about each accident. None of the accidents are worthy of a breaking news alert. It’s like the notifications are trying to be clickbait but are poorly executed. Since Christmas there have been maybe two notifications that are at all worthy of the having breaking news. I remember a few years ago there were a lot of traffic alerts and that would be more useful than dead baby ones. Close to uninstalling and unsubscribing from the paper if this abuse doesn’t stop.

Terrible news

Doesn’t matter when you look up tcpalm to read news it’s the same story over and over. 6 different headlines about local rapper that killed two associates. How many articles does it take to say same story. It’s been up now for three weeks, and it’s now back at top as if it just happened. 6 different headlines bout the sex parlors, and still getting same attention as it did 2 weeks ago, let it go. My advice is fire everyone at your outlet and rehire. Maybe then weekly we will be able to read something interestingly New.

Videos when you don’t want them

Nothing worse than trying to catch up on the news in a boring meeting then tapping on a story that has a video with LOUD audio. All video stories should have a flag in the main page that lets you know its video. Also, tapping on the text to read more pushes me onto a video commercial, not the rest of that article. I pay for my subscription but that’s soon to end. USA TODAY, the far left leaning rag now seems to control our content. The Stuart News and TC Palm are fading away from unbiased reporting on local stories. App failure just makes me ready to pull the plug sooner.

Stuart News digital print edition is nice to have but the reality is the pages do not foraminifera

However I think the print version needs to Redesign the ability to see the whole page when reading on iPhones and and a able touch hyperlinks to article of interest. I don’t really understand how Digital kicked the pants off newsprint in a matter of months And the cost of getting a paper delivered is …NUTS Thanks for reading. Media talk and commentary are a great reflection on daily work life blend and what’s juicin at the moment. I come in peace from the world of PR and writing for River Living two page spread with professional photography. I was the content coordinator as well. 30 to 24 pages monthly. Fast access to local info

It’s hard to get connected, even with a paid subscription, they have a weird management of accounts, if it happens to you: call technical support, dont email , just call on the good old phone 9-5 Once connected, it is a very nice app, easy to navigate and lots of relevant local information

Not as good as the old app

The pop-up ads are totally annoying. I look at the ads appearing in the newpaper, but refuse to give any attention to the pop-ups. The default launch page is the Stuart edition of the paper, even though I subscribe to the Press Journal. If there is a way to make the Press Journal the default, it is not self-intuitive. I have to click on 3 different links to bring up the Press Journal. The old app was much better.

Ads are out of control!

Just touch near an ad and you see the ad, every time! Worst app for ads of any! Don’t you make enough money selling your $1.00 a copy slanted newspaper? This paper and website have gone completely downhill since “big business” bought them! It used to be a great local paper-NO MORE!

Hacked, Crashed or Antiquated?

Today is the 2nd time in 2 weeks my eEdition will not load. It says it’s server is down, or cannot be located. I wonder if they’ve been hacked, or crashed. Anyway, can you give us a name and local phone number of someone local I can talk to on the phone without going through a phone robot that simply runs us around in a circle. I’ve saved this, and I’m about ready to post this on FB and UTube.

Don't look for the promised tab to toggle off auto-renewal....

It's a decent app for local news when you're out of town and the 6 month promotional rate is fairly priced. The promise that you can toggle off auto renewal (at full price) is hollow though. That tab just doesn't exist. Mark your calendar and cancel if it you don't care for the full price.

January Food Deals still the April Headline

Take a look at the “Bargainista” section to learn about stale news and months-old offerings. Take a look at the “news” section and you can still find out that I95 is blocked because of an accident 6 days ago. I hope it’s been cleared. Doesn’t any one edit this stuff? This is part of the USA Today network. It has to be one of the WORST news sites on the web. The print edition of the paper is almost as bad. That’s why I cancelled my subscription.

Awful

Latest app takes about a minute to load on iPad. You first got a black screen, then grey screen, then finally the first page. Then when scrolling through the pages, suddenly reverts back to page 1. Reloading the app doesn’t improve it. Tech support is of no help. Online chat refers you to a $1.00 fix it site. Doesn’t even compare to the original app!

Best way to consume TCPALM

I have received updates from TCPALM periodically and found them valuable so I subscribed. From there I decided to try the app and this is a much better way to consume the TCPALM information in a timely and efficient way.

Horrible.

This is the worst app I’ve ever tried to use. I pay to be a subscriber to TCPalm but when I try to read the “subscriber only” stories, 99% of the time the app has kicked me out of my account and tells me to restore my purchase, only then to say it can’t restore it at this time. But don’t worry, they make sure to charge me every month. I absolutely hate this app.

Terrible app

The app is hard to navigate, does not load quickly. It also goes to a white screen then comes back on another page somewhere else. The pop up ads are annoying. When my subscription is over I will look for another way to get local news.

Great for local news

I love reading about my community, and there are occasionally very informing articles. The app itself is very glitchy. The editing of the articles isn’t great either. There are a lot of spelling errors and missed edits.

Confusing and Difficult

This app is extremely difficult to use, navigate and find what is desired. I advise you to get 20 people of all ages to sit with the designers and show them just how ridiculously hard this is to use. I have used computers for forty years and I would say that this is one of the worst apps I have ever used. Anthony Marturano

Not customizable

Would like to select the priory/order of the next news. Constantly have sports at the “top”. This personally for me is not my “top news” that I’m interested in. I have even disengage the sport notification, but still the app always shows sports as the top story. Please allow me to customize.

Tyler Treadway, when are you going to print addresses on the places you are reporting on. The last 6 articles. People need address to find these facilities on their GPS machines. What’s the problem?? How can we support them when we can’t find them !!!

ENewspaper still not right.

The eNewspaper portion of this app still does not work like the app that only does the readable paper. When it does, I will use it. This app always comes up on the Stuart News and does not remember what version I used last.

Subscription doesn’t stay logged in.

Every time I open the app and try to read an article, it tells me to buy a subscription. I try to restore the subscription, and it freezes up.

Press Journal?

Why can’t I save the e-edition that relates to my vicinity. I subscribed to Press Journal. I like the crossword in comics. Downloaded to read weekly since I just get Sunday delivery. The app makes me default to Stewart. The programmers could do that. Put the selections under e-edition selection? Thank you

I pay every month for this subscription but when I click on articles for subscribers only it tells me to log in or create an account and I’ve even called the newspaper they blame the fact I have apple, what in the world

Good news but

Even with a paid subscription, have to sit through an ad for each video - sometimes they ads are longer than the video. As much as I want to support local news, $13 a month isn’t worth it.

eNewspaper defaults to Stuart News. Needs a setting

The eNewspaper portion of the TCPalm app needs to allow the subscriber to default to the newspaper that they want to read. It takes quite a bit of effort to switch to the Press Journal from the Stewart news.

Morning nothing GOOD about your App today!! This morning The papers would not go past ( LOAD) page 5!!!! Pages are not loading!!!!! Always having to use the Gear to reload. Today USA will not load 1st page!!!!! Now today the Rochester Democrat will not load with the NEW York papers!!!!!!!

Too much spin

This app is a little news mixed with a lot of leftist spin. It is NOT JUST NEWS. I use it to keep up on local news when I’m traveling but I wish I could get simple facts without left propaganda. News alerts mix important events with stupid human interest non-news; there is no way to filter news from filler.

Hard to navigate print editions

Hard to get to my local newspaper. I have to do about 5 clicks to get there. Print version is jumpy. Zooming in and out is jumpy, not what I normally expect when zooming text.

Do you not have the funds or commitment to develop and maintain a decent app? Always buggy. Never a smooth experience day to day. Asking for sign in indiscriminately. You’re a big corporation. Figure it out.

Quality Bust

Navigating to useful information is next to impossible. I’ve come to realize that there is no quality information. Most news is days old by the time it hits the app.

VERO BEACH press journal

The paper is a Joke The Monday paper is. Two section’s off two day old news with 60 % Adds. you have eliminated all of the Financial news and stock market reports even when you went to a Sat full report you could not let us have that. The sports page has gotten down to a two page national and a one page local during the World Series you did not have the box scores. We have been a subscriber for many years and will probably subject ourselves to more of your abuse Ed Baud

Worst App EVER

I sign in but still cannot get stories. They are blocked by a pop-up forcing me to sign up for a free 30-day subscription. I don’t even know what to do with this app anymore. I’d give it zero stars if I could.
