Extremely difficult to navigate

I think it is extremely important to support newspapers. Having said that your website is not user friendly. I have to choose which articles to focus on. I can’t see all of the paper to decide what I want to read more thoroughly. Consequently I miss important information that I would have been interested in. I think you are accelerating the demise of local papers because of the frustration. I used to look forward to a quiet review of the paper—now it’s mostly aggravation.

Not as good as it was...

Years ago they used to be all kinds of news. Police beat things that happened in your own city. Now there is hardly anything... Ever since USA today, took over the paper has gone downhill..

Subscription services is trash

I’ve had almost constant issues with my digital subscription not being recognized by the app. I’m signed in, I have an annual subscription that last through the middle of next month, and I hit the “restore iTunes purchase” multiple times.

Waste of money

Waste of money and nothing newsworthy to read anyway. Most of the time the app won’t let me log in even though they gladly take my money. There is no one to talk to and by email they say they are trying to fix the problem but offer no solutions. Very frustrating!

SJ-R ap is easy to use

The ap is easy to use. I usually check the obits and headlines. Not much else in the paper any more

Can’t get my old version to load

I’m trying to get he app version that shows each day’s edition. So I can select a day other than today. I cannot find this in this version of the app.

Signing in

I have an acct with SJR. Yet when I want the app; I put in userid & password it states I need to put them both in after I have done it?? Sandra White

Pretty good app

This is a nicely laid out app and does an excellent job for what it's designed to do. The only drawback for me was paying for this app (quite some time ago) and it still displays advertisements! I've never seen another app that does that. Usually, when you pay those are removed. I've gotten used to them, as they don't get in the way to much but the removal in the paid version would have gotten the app 5 stars.

Impossible to Unsubscribe

There is no way to cancel your subscription. I have been trying for a week, and just got charged for another month.

E newspaper

Have had difficulty getting E newspaper to load. Top stories comes up immediately, but when I click on e newspaper nothing happens.

Clunky and Dissapointing

The app is not intuitive and really is downright primitive. On the positive side, it is appropriate for the content of what was a great newspaper but now needs to close.

Not worth it

Easy Access

Front page news and follow on stories very easy to access and read. I use all the time.

Accessible for voice over users

Navigation among the articles using voice over screen reader works, which it did not with previous versions. However, I agree with other comments regarding article organization

Nice navigation on the new app

Really like the new navigation. Especially being able to see the top stories sooner and real time.

Medicre at best

I wonder if the SJ-R advises those who pay to advertise on their very basic app that they block people who actually use the app and therefore fewer people see the ads they are being paid to run? Content is very lacking, especially local content. It is easier going to the web site than using the app which defeats the very purpose of the app.

Nice, but...

It keeps crashing! And that’s on this brand new iPhone SE 2020! What the heck? Can we get a more reliable app without all the stops and crashes PLEASE?!?

Not Bad

You can read most of the contents of the printed newspaper with this app. It's easy to use, and there are not a lot of pop up advertisements.

Worthless

Poor app. Stories are not updated. 2-3 days can pass before changes appear. Some stories are nothing more than a white page. Opening this app has locked my phone (I phone 10) numerous times. Use at your own risk.

Terrible

Stories are not updated the same ones there day after day. Not organized well, i.e. Local,national, opinion etc.. Biggest complaint; can't download the day's news and read offline. The old app, just a copy of the print version, was much better!

They've managed to Destroy a Great Newspaper, but At Least the theApp is Well Designed.

Poor news source

The app is okay if you want to check the news every couple of days. Needs to be kept up to date throughout the day. Look at St. Louis Post Dispatch and see how a news app is continually updated.

Horrible app

Did not think the sjr could get worse. I was wrong. It can and it did with this app. The app does nothing more than further water down, dilute and generally restrict the real news.

New SJ-R app

This is nothing like the blue sj-r.com app which I still have on my iPhone and mini ipad - but !!!- can no longer load on my new iPad It is nothing like the SJ-R paper view I like -It’s a change to something like all news app do I only want the original SJ-R app which for some reason you can no longer get unless you already have it on something as an old iPhone or iPad -nothing new can have because no longer at App Store Once they take the original SJ-R app away on older devices -I no have a choice but be force to no longer be able to read the newspaper view of SJ-R

The electronic version has no date and is missing a great deal of copy from the printed version, I'm switching back to the printed paper.pitiful!
