Sometimes when there’s a “select the simplified equation” kind of question it won’t show up the unsimplified equation. Can’t blame y’all though :D Since writing this review the app has only been up for a week or so I can see why it could still be pretty buggy at times. Other than that there a few more performance issues that make it hard to get through a lesson, and a few glitchy cuts with the narrator whenever there’s a sound effect. I love teaching textbooks, and it’s kind of a shame that you had to start over with a mobile app. Since using this program I’ve been so much less stressed out and I can learn so much faster when I can go at my own pace and not be slowed down by anxiety from the pressure of others ;)
Teaching Textbooks has vastly improved my children’s math skills and simplified that area of school. There are many reasons why I’m loving Teaching Textbooks. I guess the top are, that they are able to rewatch a video several times which was a great relief to my daughter who struggles in math… no more frustrated teacher becoming impatient, which was a problem in her last school. I appreciate how much easier it is now because of our ability to leave the house yet continue their math while we travel. And since they immediately grade the lessons, I’m able to see any problems they’re having immediately. I would like the scratch pad work to be saved in an update at some point, so I could see where they’re going wrong, that would be a nice improvement. But I can still see which problems gave them trouble, go back and have them do the problem again in front of me and then I can help them from there. Overall, solid curriculum which can simplify the math part of your day at least!
There is no perfect program but for math, this has been a wonderful app for my kids to use. It allows them to learn and have fun with the stickers and wallpaper. I know that my kids have learned higher math so much better because of using this program. By example of this is my older kids have been able to help their younger siblings with different things because I believe they learned it so well. I don’t do so well in the higher math, but teaching textbooks has allowed my kids to learn without needing my help. Plus-all grading is inclusive. I don’t have to do anything-even better!
•Eraser button on scratchpad is delayed and takes long to continue to work. •Answer Key and Ebook on Parent side sometimes says that it hasn’t finished loading when I need it. •Overall layout is confusing. •I would like to see a saved version of the scratchpad work that my child did so that I could go back and check and explain things that he may have not understood.
I purchased (2) TT 4.0 packages, downloaded the appropriate apps, and tried to login. Every time I try to login I receive an error message saying my email and password are incorrect. I made sure I was signing in with the email/password I purchased with. I even tried resetting my password - to no avail. I understand that new programs can be glitchy, so I called customer service...and sat on hold for over 30 minutes, at which point my call was disconnected. I called back - a total of 74 times, all with the same result - either a busy signal, or a connection resulting in an auto hang-up. I can’t log in, I can’t speak to customer service to resolve anything.
Most of the time I can’t even get into the parent account. At first I was able to solve the issue by changing the password, but now it won’t even give me the option to type the password. It just shows the blank background. Voiceover will occasionally contradict what’s written in an equation, making it difficult to tell what numbers I’m supposed to be working with. When I answer a question correctly during a lecture, it will play the correct and incorrect sounds simultaneously. Overall not the worst ever but honestly I’d rather just use 3.0. I understand this is new but I expected better.
I found it easy to use. It’s a little laggy sometimes, but not too bad. The animations are pretty childish, so I just turned them off. Overall I think the app is pretty good, but there is one thing I’d like to add. There should be a place where all the rules, terms, etc. should be. It would be great for studying, and much easier than going through every lecture again. I hope this helps.
Pros MUCH better than the online version. As an 8th grade student it is a very useful app especially with the note pad that I can use with my s-pen letting me go paperless. The audio is high quality and enjoyable to use. It’s somewhat customizable to your appreciation, like wallpapers and certain sounds. Cons The animations seem very childish and take away from focusing on your math. It could use some editing, for ex: sometimes a lesson will be cut short or will skip a few words at the end. When using a Bluetooth keyboard the on screen one would not hide and let your own keyboard take control. A little buggy, but I assume that will be fixed with future updates. Otherwise, thanks tt math!
I wanted to use the free trial to see if this would work for my child but after spending over 30 minutes just trying to get it logged in to look at it I gave up- even if it’s the best math program ever if you can’t log in (and I’m tech savvy) then it’s trash. Kept getting error messages, tried redownloading the app, new log in, restarts, nothing worked past entering my email and password and trying to select a child (it accepted their info but glitched after that). Would loved to have tried it but this is way too glitchy for me to consider even with 3.0 having glowing reviews
Sometimes in a lesson it will play the first 3rd of the lesson and then just freeze. Sometimes I can fix it sometimes I can’t. There are a lot of other problems to, like it randomly crashing, the scratch book not working, imputing the right answer and it is marked as wrong, and a few others I can’t remember right now. Please fix it.
The app is great for school but the keyboard is annoying. The buttons are way too small and i keep clicking the wrong one or didnt click anything at all. I never get my password right and its just so frustrating
I received the teaching textbook dvds for algebra 1 and I put in my email and password and I thought that it would be an “account” for this app. Is it only for buying it? Help is appreciated.
I used this app for school for a year. It was pretty good, not many bugs, I don’t know why it only has 2.9 stars. Also I love the funny word problems and wallpapers
This app is very new, so bugs are expected, but there are just so many. First of all, if you try to pause voiceovers the pause button just won’t work. Sometimes, the go button just stops working, AND I will get a problem correct, but it says incorrect and I then watch the lecture and it says what I put in is the answer.
Please please please please please please please please please Please add support for the keyboards so it’s easier to type answers to problems, type password, and login.
Whenever gone into a lesson this dude has lack of teaching skills, when answering questions its questions that he hasn't taught, so whenever stuck on a question i got back and look through lessons but it's no where to be taught lazy teacher
I have this app on my computer everything was fine until they updated to 4.0. I love teaching textbooks they make math easier for me but I can’t get on lesson 16 and I can’t login in on my phone. 😡
The lessons were so incredibly hard to understand and there were no review lessons, I would 100% not recommend, it is so confusing and honestly torture to do
The guys who teach explain the lesson in a much harder way than in an easier way, it’s very hard to understand. I can go on YouTube and look up a much easier way to understand
