I was using another App for TV listings for years, it’s probably the biggest guide with lots of advertising, the TV G**** App, but it was updated and they dropped any description except the show name, at least for the shows I watched. With re-runs so common, I had to watch the beginning of each show to see if it was a show I hadn’t seen, or seen in awhile. With the “TV Listing App”, it is well organized, & simple to use. Once I find a show I might want to watch, by clicking on the show, I get a long list of the programs broadcasts that follow on that day, with a short description, and if the program is a new release. Looking above, I can continue to “ Tomorrow” and see move programming for that channel.
I am quite happy with the accuracy of the program listings and episode descriptions available on this app. The interface works well for seeing which programs are on currently; and, for the next couple hours across all selected stations. However, no TV listings app I’ve encountered is perfect. For me, this app’s “Achilles’ heel” is that it is not as easy and intuitive when looking ahead to the next day — especially if one doesn’t know what station the desired program is on. (Such as when trying to determine which network is airing your favorite team’s NFL broadcast, and at what specific time.) One must select a specific station, then press “Tomorrow,” then scroll down through to to the desired hour(s), beginning from 12 AM (which takes awhile if it is airing during Primetime). If not found on that channel, one can’t stay within that timeframe and view all channels; nor simply switch between channels to check other channels for the desired program. S/he must more laboriously go back/return to the current day, then select one specific other channel, again must press “Tomorrow,” etc. — repeating the entire process, until finally successful. Still, for me, this is an app I appreciate, use regularly, and feel is worth having.
East enough to use but sometimes inaccurate. It does not list all the channels available that I have access to on my cable network and it lists the wrong music channels. It even lists channels that aren’t on my cable network. I have Music Choice on my cable system but this lists Stingray, which used to be the music network before our cable company changed the lineup a bit, dropping some channels and adding others. I do have a way to check my other channels but it is time consuming and I can only see an hour at a time. But I can see what’s on 10-12 days ahead whereas I can only see 6 or 7 days’ worth with this app. When will the app be updated to match what I am getting on my cable system? One network I like to watch is NatGeoWild on channel 493 on my cable network but it’s not listed in your lineup. Please update to the current available channels in my area.
*Update - I wish that the notifications would wrap to another line for show names. Even with my iPhone display set to the smallest text the show names are sometimes truncated. It’s hard to tell what tell what the show is. For instance tonight at “8:00 P.M. on NBCHD (02): Am…” will be on. This is the best app I have found to replace TV Guide app since they “improved” it. (Everyone hates it.) You can put your favorite shows on a Watchlist and they appear in the Today tab for easy viewing times. The only problem I have is that if you view the Today list even one minute after your show starts, it no longer appears on the Today list. So it makes it harder to know quickly that one of your favorite shows is on right now. You have to go to the channel list and scan all the way through it for shows that are on right now.
It seems some of the channel providers have changed the times of when their shows appear so that your app does not keep up with this for some reason. I don’t know when this began a few months ago. I’m writing today in mid April 2024. For example, your guide shows a program I have been watching a long time up here at 6 o’clock and on my actual television set channels it is coming on at 9 o’clock. I am in Pacific time zone so it appears like your app is showing Eastern time zone which it didn’t do in the past and other programs are still accurate. It just seems, I’m guessing, that the channel providers change the time of a show, but your app is not keeping up with it, and I see no way to change it inside the app. I hope you can find a way. I don’t want to delete everything and start all over again.
Not always updated regularly. Lists the same shows on some channels for the same days for months. Example: local football shows during football season were listed in this app for months after they had been discontinued by the local stations, while the local stations’ listings on their respective websites were correct. Where are you getting your information? Obviously not from the local stations. I got this app so I wouldn’t have to look up all my local stations’ schedules individually. Other than that, it’s a pretty good app for having all my local stations (which are totally customizable by station, order, etc.) in one place. If you would just be more diligent about updating and listing the correct information, I would definitely rate it higher. Thank you for asking for feedback.
I tried several of the tv listings apps & found most of them difficult to set up and use. Some are so cluttered with ads & promos that I hated using them. This one works really well for me: *easy to select OTA channels *when you open the app, you can see what’s coming up for the next few hours, or, *you can select a channel & see all upcoming programs & jump to the next days if you want to schedule some viewing *program descriptions indicate new shows I’m very pleased with this app & hope that giving it 5 stars & a good review helps others avoid wasting time on the others
I love the app for the broadcast channels because they are never listed in Conventional places where the review of what is on broadcast television that night. It is always correct with the listings plus a little bit of information about the programs. When I first moved to the country and had broadcast stations I never knew what was on from one time to the next each day or each week because I did not get the newspaper and I did not have cable. So I had no idea what was available. The app is fantastic I have had no problems with it whatsoever and it lists all the broadcast stations that I receive. I highly recommend this app for anyone who is watching broadcast stations or free to air stations.
I use this app to set a reminder for when my favorite movies come on. It’s pretty good with that. The only thing is the TV Guide app has a watchlist app that you can add your favorite shows and or movies to. I can always go to that list and check to see if my favorite movies are coming on. On this app I always have to search and then set a reminder which is very annoying. Just make up a favorite list or watchlist that your users can frequently check instead always having to remember what movies you like and search for them. You have this only for shows and not for movies which dumb and annoying. Please add this feature ASAP or update your watchlist for movies.
I am still trying to find out how it all links & where to find stuff but it is rather easy to understand - for a person who has had a traumatic brain injury anyway. I appreciate the individual line-up for each channel by the hour progressively on a separate screen plus a description then of each show (if available). You’ve made it easier to see exactly how long each show lasts. I just am really appreciating this app. It might be nice to have even a gray scale gradient to differentiate sometimes. But it still works great for me!! 5 stars from me!!
This app is so easy to navigate. I love that it gives not only a channel’s lineup for the week, but also gives a brief description of the show or movie as well as the date it was made or started on tv. It sometimes gives you some info on the actors or the show or movie. I’m really big into trivia, so this is terrific. On shows you can also see how many seasons there were and a rundown of the titles on each show in a season. You can also set a reminder if there is a show you’d like to watch (or watch again). I’m so glad I’ve found this app!
This app is great for allowing me to know what what is for the apps I use on Apple TV. I’d give it 5 stars if there were a way to modify certain channels. There’s a couple of channels where it has the wrong time for what is going on for the live tv. It would be great to be able to set the time for individual channels that get the time wrong. It’s a little bit of a bummer when I see a show and get to that channel and it’s not on. I understand it’s not the developer’s fault that the station is sending them the wrong info based on a time zone. The solution would be to offset the time zone for the channel so that it offsets to the proper time due to reality.
I really dig this app as it make it easy just to see what’s on at the moment or, as I like to do, lets me look ahead to see what’s on late-night. The ads are not in the way and it’s simple to look a few days ahead. I don’t like how there you can only see about 6 days ahead on the schedule, but this is no deal breaker. The reminder notifications are great and also not intrusive or annoying. I recommended it to my dad who loves it, too. Simple to use! Love it!
TV Listings Plus is so much better than the others. Like another user wrote, I’ve been using the TV Guide app for years but decided it was time to change due to it hogging a lot of memory for advertising and trailers I’m not interested in. The ability to add favorites was useless since the networks were still scattered. This app is clean, simple and loaded with customization features. I just wish I’d known about “TV Listings Plus “ earlier. Very happy now!
I had been using the " No Cable" app and had to list my daily program line up in a document on my phone. Also there was not much of a description of the programs. I decided to see if there was a TV guide app. I downloaded this app and it was just what I was looking for. I like the features of seeing what was on channels in the next few hours, a detailed description of the program including key actors, and the season number of daily sitcoms. Thank you so much for placement of this app. It really is a "TV guide".
We cut the cable to the mega conglomerate cable, I don’t want to feed the rich as they stick it to us on their over prided cable. We bought a proper antenna and found this great app, it is so much easier and quicker to find what you are looking for on the app than looking on the tv. Good job ladies and gentlemen!! Cable is in the rearview mirror. Take the money you save and open up a savings account for kids, grandkids college fund. Take the money and donate to the children going to bed hungry every night in this country that is sucked dry by draconian taxes!!
I stumbled upon this app and decided, what the heck I’ll give it a try. I’m glad I did. No more channel surfing! Open this app and I can see what’s on or going to be on every channel I get. I no longer have to suffer through ads before seeing what’s playing, or flip back and forth trying to catch what’s on. Not to mention how much time is saved trying to find something to watch when I had to channel surf! Worth a try!
I rarely ever post a review that saying, I felt I had to give this app a four star rating. When TV guide did an update several months ago it was horrible so I went looking for another app and found this one. I have been using it now for months and am really happy with it. Very user-friendly, which is important to me, very easy to add or delete channels. I don’t think you can go wrong if you just give it a try.
The major item lacking in this app is the same gripe I have with others in that it fails to show all the channels I can receive and won’t let me add them either. Otherwise, I have little to criticize about it. It’s slim and offers a fair amount of program info. I would love to see a link to IMDB for a more complete show description as well as a listing of actors but that’s minor. All the others I’ve looked at are either way too skimpy with not enough info or they overwhelm with too much info with no way of paring them down easily.
After 25 years of paid cable, this App confirms I did the right thing. Now with this easy to read guide I can not only see the program title, but I see program minutes left, time allotted, future programs, search feature, and more. Not all channels in my area are listed, no problem, because I use a different App, but I always come back to this well designed and displayed Guide.
Had TV Guide app then it would not upgrade on my old iPh 6 which could not go higher than iOS 12.5 & needed 14. Was getting tired of all the ads popping up anyway. Just upgraded to iPh SE 2020 & still issues TVGuide. Downloaded this app & like it so much better. Can see what is on the channels for nxt couple hours at one glance. Plus can get additional info. I just have broadcast/antenna TV but still have 40 channels
I would have given it 5 stars, but I have an issue with the advertisements. I understand that advertising support pays for the service, but inadvertently, my finger sometimes misses touching the TV show that I want information about—instead, up come the dang ads. I wouldn’t mind that so much, but they plant some kind of spyware that tracks my interests so they can market similar products. If these businesses were legitimate (i.e., a physical location with their contact information) they wouldn’t get away with this type of deceitful practice. After writing all this, I lowered my rating to “3-stars.”
The TV guide part of this app works perfectly. However, this app has a feature that allows you to set a particular program, or follow a particular series, and it will put those programs into a “Watch List” and also send you an alert when your show is starting. This part of the app only works 50% of the time. Frustrating because you miss things you wanted to see, and/or, you have to constantly recheck the listings. If they could fix this issue, this would be a perfect app.
I struggled for a few years with TV Guide app so much that I took a chance on anything else. This guide is A+!! Constantly updates shows and accurate. I basically watch the same thing every night but so pleased with the ease of looking through the channels anyway. Love the search options and the simplicity of the guide. Highly recommend using this app as your TV Guide. It lives up it’s name.
I usually find the listings reliable except early on Sunday morning. I would like to watch Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman at 6 am on StartTV as it is listed, however every Sunday morning the show is some dog show instead. I think show that are educational/ informational follow at 7 and 8 am that are not what is listed. As this has happened for many Sunday mornings now, I would think that someone would correct the app to indeed make it reliable!
I can program in my favorite stations and it works with regular tv and cable. It alerts me when my favorite shows are about to start, and I can even keep track of which episodes I have seen. I am not super computer or app savvy but I have still been able to figure it out which is a big plus. It’s user friendly and I’m glad this is the one I chose to download!
It’s not actually this app. It’s just that digital TV doesn’t have anything new they just keep playing the same old crap over and over. I can watch stuff on the Internet quicker and easier so. You might want to tell the broadcasters that they need to step it up and quit playing crap over and over it’s ridiculous! Which in turn is fixed your app. Does anybody understand. Otherwise your app is fine. Just pass this down the line. If not they’re all going down. Including your app. Thank you
This is a fantastic tv listing app! We don’t have cable - we use an Eclipse indoor antenna, which picks up a lot of channels. I’d been using TV24 app for years, but had to delete because it wouldn’t sync with new local channels. This app found all our channels, and I can omit channels we never watch. The advertising is minimal, the app data size isn’t huge, and it works like it should. Definitely recommend. Thanks developers!!
I’ve Used many different TV guide apps including spectrum and several others. They always crash or will not load. I’ve been using this one for over a month and have never had an issue yet. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is because I do not like the layout choices. I’d rather see all of the TV shows listed straight across instead of down for a given channel.
I just switched to this app from the ATT U-verse app after they got rid of the tv listings page. Hallmark change their Movies and Mysteries name to Hallmark Mysteries and it isn’t an option now in the listings. I have to go to their webpage to see what is upcoming. Otherwise, I like the format, it was easy to set up and use. And now I can look ahead and see what the offerings are.
I’m a “Senior” that used TV Guide for decades. I’d look forward to its weekly arrival (snail mail) so I could plan ahead my family’s schedule of viewing, and enjoy the article’s. My children grew up knowing that was important mail 🤓. When the “change” was made in format (which I disliked) I stopped subscribing and used their app for the schedule, I never considered using something else… I found your app, liked the layout, and it’s ease of use. It’s my “go to”now! THANKS
The app is easy to use. You can change the order of the channels anyway you want them, and you can hide channels you don't want to see. The app is as accurate as the data source, so if the source is wrong, the app will be wrong - it is not the app's fault if the source is wrong. To get to 5 stars, I would like to see more details about all movies including the cast of the major roles and a link to an online review.
You can’t search for a channel, I have to scroll thru all the channels to find the channel I’m searching for. I have to search for shows then set up the alerts more than once to be alerted every time the show is coming on the air. For instance: I’ll select Fargo & set alerts & this is for 7 days. Once I select it, it should remain in my system & alert me without me having to search it and set alerts all over again.
I started using this version of TV Listings after I updated my old one. I couldn’t get it to list my shows in channel order! I got tired of trying so went to this version by totally different people and I’ve not had a problem since. No problems? Then I am one very happy camper who will remain loyal. Try this! You’ll like it! It’s accurate and problem free!
So helpful to have each day’s TV programs laid out in a row for easy choosing and visibility. Also, I really like the synopsis of each TV show. I use this app daily. I wish it had MTV PLUS channels 8.3 , 8.4, 8.5, 8.6, 8.7 information as it does all the other channels in the Salt Lake area. Thank you for being such a great assistance when I need to know what’s available on my favorite channels and shows.
Truth be told I left TV guide after having many, varied problems and being very frustrated. I decided to try this one and I love the different features. It’s great to set the channels so only the ones you watch are shown. Easy to add channels at any time. Also shows which programs follow each hour. I’ve had absolutely no problems since and love it. Thanks.
I’m going to start using a different TV app because this one constantly has a disgusting ad showing bubbles coming out of a man’s ear and I’m tired of seeing it. Seems like every time I give feedback that it’s repetitive or gross, and I try to block it, it just shows up more. I understand that ads are a necessary evil, but they don’t need to be that gross. And when you choose the “don’t show me this ad” option, then stop showing me the ad for crying out loud. There are other good apps out there where I can check tv listing without feeling nauseous.
I love this app. I finally can customize and re-order my channel listing the way I choose! We haven't had traditional cable for years and was struggling to find a guide where I didn't have to endlessly scroll through dozens of channels I didn't have. This guid makes it easy to cobble together the few channels we watch from the 7 or so we use direct logins with, like Syfy, Foxnow, TBS, TNT etc. paired with Philo. Thank you thank you!! 👍👍
Been testing some of the few TV program listings available. Though, there is one that is visually better, but so slow to load, and packed with videos and video ads, I deleted it and found this one, Prus. Prus is so faster loading and so easy to use, easy to set up and pertains easy to the choices of channels available. Nit fancy, but efficient, light and quick. Minor adjustment can be done.
After the well known app I used to use took a nose dive. I found this app. Still getting used to it. I like that I am able to get a name and preview of the episodes. I am sorry that I cannot give it 5 stars, but for me, it is hard to earn a “perfect” rating. If I could add that half star, I would. I also like that it shows the next two shows coming up for that channel, but they could find a way to make what’s on now stand out little easier.
I have been using this app for quite some time while rving but now that I've cut the cord I've been using it more. I like the ability to customize the channels displayed. It has been accurate as far as I have seen. While tving we moved often and I really hadn't explored the app thoroughly but now find it easy to use and customize.
I love this app. You can set it up to show only the channels you’re interested in, and you can skip ahead in time to see what’s coming up. You can set favorite shows so you’ll get alerts when it’s coming on so you don’t miss it. You can also set reminders on specific shows or movies. It’s very customizable to meet your needs.
I had the TV Guide app & deleted it after their most recent upgrade January 2021, it became difficult to use & has too much fluff! The TV Listings Plus app is easy to navigate & provides episode information on the different shows which I couldn’t find in the current TV Guide app. I wish I had discovered this app (TV Listings Plus) years ago!
This is the only TV schedule I use, which, for the most part works pretty well. However, It does not appear that it is updated if something has been changed within the past few hours. Also, occasionally, a good description is not fully fleshed out. Regardless of what I consider to be it’s shortcomings, I have been using it for over ten years.
Like the layout and the ability to flag favorite shows. Background processing is sometimes slow. For example if I launch the app and immediately open my “watchlist” it frequently omits a flagged show or two. But if I try again a few seconds later the watchlist will be more accurately filled out. Overall great app. I’ve tried others but this is my favorite.
Gives info about most shows that are programmed. Some are left blank and would like those to b improved. Also gives the year that the series started, not the year that the episode aired. That would be better info for me personally. Overall, I love this app over the TV GUIDE app. They really messed it up. Thank you all.
While at home, I use this to check programs because sometimes my cable provider shows inaccurate information. These guys seem to be pretty much on the money. Additionally, when I haul my fifth wheel all over the country, I watch antenna TV. It is very easy on this application to switch on over to the local, air broadcast channel listing.
This is the best App our there! Control of layout, minimal ads...only issue is occasional time zone issues for certain channels, programs being am hour off?...But this is likely from the providers themselves, and/or the fact that I live in AZ/Mountain Time Zone, where daylight savings time is not practiced or adjusted for. Though there are settings for this, certain channels are still off. AAA+++
I turn to this app a lot to find out what is on over-the-air. I do think it could update more when there are channel number changes. I have tried what I think is the update symbol but it doesn’t seem to work. I don’t know what is involved for their processing changes, so it may just take time.
This is a good app, but my complaint is that you rarely list the guest or topic for African Americans talk shows of Tamron Hall, Sherri and Jennifer Hudson. I feel you are discriminating against African American tv shows. I’ll give you time to change your listing before I make a complaint with Apple. The regular TV Guide app has the daily guest and topics listed, but I prefer your app. You show the guest for the Kelly Clarkson & Drew Barrymore show everyday. Hopefully you can take a little extra time and give us more info about the African Americans tv shows. Other than that you have a good app.
