I have nothing to say but good things because I can connect to other students find out who have my class so I know who my classmates are for hand and the map feature is a lifesaver. I didn’t know UNT very well going over it. I think I do now.
I’m glad UNT has this, it just needs some improvement
I give this a 4/5 because I am glad UNT has this app. If you have ever gone to another school, you should know that schools don’t normally have applications. I like the map feature, especially as a new student. It works with Apple Maps, so it looks and feels familiar. The search capability filters out everything in the Apple Maps leaving only UNT buildings. However, the usability seems a little antiquated. It doesn’t give directions when you tap on a building//it doesn’t have very detailed maps under the normal map view when you zoom in, it doesn’t break down building maps like how Google Maps does with many malls. I don’t hold the lack of map features against UNT, because I know that is at fault to Apple and who they source their maps from. The UX is a little clunky. Animations are choppy and sometimes has issues with loading pages. As someone else mentioned before, the app is not formatted to the most recent iOS devices: in particular, the iPad Pro (2018). That isn’t too big of a deal, but it would be nice for those of us fortunate enough to have the new iPad. Feature Requests: - Can the Degree Audit be added? - Can an appointment request system be incorporated? For things like the Learning Center, Writing Center, Advising, etc.
Nice clean app where you can see all the posts. Keeping updates about the school. Great way to make friends. I wish they allow you to search on the student feed. Using keywords and then whatever post come with it. I don’t know why they removed that feature a year ago. I need that feature to receive the help I can get from previous posts with question that I have.
The app looks ugly and cluttered on an iPhone screen. It looks like an iPhone 4 app that was zoomed in and there’s lots of empty black space above and below the app. It also has an issue with notifications. If doesn’t seem to sync my read notifications from the website. My phone app currently has 155 unread notifications even though I’ve cleared them all on the website. You should just remove the Blackboard integration from it and refer people to the official Blackboard app at least until we finish the transition to Canvas.
Much faster and cleaner than previous versions, I enjoy the chat posting feature as well for students. I with it could access myUNT from app instead of in browser- but overall the app is easy to use.
I'm so happy they came out with this app because even as a senior there were still buildings I couldn't find and events I never knew were going on. Now I literally have my calendar, events AND classes all in one spot, on the go! Love it.
For a school as large as UNT, this app is really underwhelming. The Calendar doesn’t include dates the school is closed (e.g. Labor Day), but rather it lists only seven total events for the first two months of the school year. The calendar should include (at a minimum) course enrollment deadlines, school closure dates, and other significant events like mid term and final testing weeks. The Map portion of the app doesn't include parking locations - at all. It also doesn’t seem to link to Apple maps easily so if you don’t use Google maps to navigate you’re out of luck. Looking at Class Search, the details of the individual classes aren’t included, though a link to each course is frustratingly present on each of them.
This app works great for almost everything you need to do. You can’t see/do everything you can from laptop but that’s no biggie. I think the app works great and I haven’t had any issues with it.
Last semester the new features of communication where not there or made known. This year communicating with others is crucial and have been made aware in the app.
It’s the easiest way to find your way around campus with a user friendly interface a useful ressources for any type of help and guidance. I strongly recommend this app to any student on and off campus !!
i love the updated version of the UNT mobile app! It is much easier to navigate and I love the idea of it being like a social media sight where it allows students to leave threads or comments.
Way better than the first version of this app but there should be an easier/more personal way to reply to someone’s comment. Like by just pressing their comment and being able to reply to them rather than replying to the whole thread
I love it because I keep track of my grades and assignements as well as discussion even when I don’t have my computer. The notifications are important and the app makes it worth it. I libe it.
For some time now the app has prevented me from logging in, and when I was able to log in it would show me notifications for assignments due at the end of the semester at any point during the semester. The app is also poorly scaled for any of the newer iPhones, making the display feel too clutter. The only thing barring a one star review is the bus tracker.
As a student myself I absolutely love this. This is one of the only schools I’ve ever seen make an app so that students find an easier way to navigate all of their websites.
Very simple app to use and fun to see what people on campus are positing and discussing. App has very few features and doesn’t report messages very well. Compared to real social media platforms it’s crap but I still like using it to see what’s going on at UNT.
I enjoy the app very much. I like that includes social events and everything going on. For the most part I enjoy that it’s all accessible through your mobile phone!
I like the app. It’s easy to use and a good way to get fast answers and recommendations about Denton and UNT. I like having an online way to connect with other students!
The layout feels overcrowded and very unorganized it is hard to navigate and personalize. It’s not easy to use and I can’t decide what to get notified for which is frustrating when it comes to discussion boards. The app is constantly logging me out and is not easy to find what I need. It has good resources but is just too annoying to keep the app.
I love school and I love being a mean green eagle. This app is super useful for helping me get work done on time. I am definitely not procrastinating by playing video games and watching shows. UNT rocks!!! :)
For Feed: Reply box should expand, comments should be scrollable/dynamic when popping up a reply, also would be nice to see recent comments when in Feed view, and posts bump to top when replied. Great platform nonetheless!
It’s been awhile now, but they finally merged the app to retrieve website links to be easy to search. Need to input a keyword? This app will layout everything in an orderly fashion.
Sure I can ask “hey did anyone hear that noise near Bruce hall?” But I’d rather enjoy the chat memes, it feels like a special group and I’m glad to be a part of the chat
So previous versions used to be pretty good. Nothing amazing but they worked. This one now requires you to log in every time you wanna look at courses and schedule and recently has been shutting down, not listing classes, etc. Other versions were practical. This one is not.
It is good enough but it doesn’t help for several classes and it only shows certain things like announcements but not things placed in places like course contents.
The new update has completely broken the log in save feature and I’m constantly having to log into my MyUNT if I haven’t opened the app within the past 30 minutes.
