I have literally spent hours yesterday and today trying to book a flight on the website. I have gotten several errors including declining my payment on my credit card, and then on my husband’s. I checked with the credit card company, and no charges were attempted on either card. There were other misc errors that locked things up, like telling me my email already existed. I ended up downloading the app, and everything went through smoothly and perfectly the very first try.
There are only a total of 16 reviews which the majority of are terrible 5 stars so hopefully this message will go to the top and save someone hours of valuable time and unexpected funds.. they make it impossible to check in online so they can charge you at the gate. The app and website will take you on a series of circles and waste your time. First time.. Last time. Watch out mates
The website and app have severe issues. Payments will not go through, my booking was wiped out, their telephone number is an automated loop that directs you to their website or to chat, but their chat is also automated. The email sends out standard, repetitive replies that direct you elsewhere. They finally answered to confirm my booking, yet their online system still shows “no booking” found. As such, I cannot pay for my seats nor can I check in online. Now I am forced to pay for the extra cost for them to print out my boarding pass and pay for the seats which should have been taken care of weeks ago. Take my advice and choose a different airline!
I enjoy going with Volotea much more than Ryanair unfortunately you decided to leave Trieste airport which is much more convenient for me so I had to change carrier many times
Neither website nor the app would provide me with a mobile boarding pass and instructed me to go to the desk at the airport to print one out despite it being 2022. Airport was a hot mess as hundreds of people on the same flight had the same problem and there weren’t any self serve kiosks to print a simple boarding pass. App and website also gave us multiple error codes whenever we tried to manage our own booking and saying that the reservation could not be found despite us being able to check in. Will avoid this airline in the future.
Your website is an inconsistent mess. I am a megavolotea plus member. 9 times out of ten when booking a reservation all of the benefits of being megavoleoplus are not offered to me. Your telephone agents don’t seem to know this and insist that it is added as an option to purchase, however it is not. He said that we received an email that the combo plus option was going away. I never received an email like that. He suggested that it went in my spam. I clean out my spam every day. I have never received a message like that from Volotea.
Hours wasted trying to check in online (app and desktop)! I’m not sure if that is their “strategy” to charge the €30 pp at the counter; I’m really hoping it won’t happen tomorrow when we have our flight. It is easy to book a flight, but it is a pain to check in online! Beware! Fix the app, please. This will make new customers no booking again with this airline.
Volotea is garbage. This app is also garbage. Do yourself a favor and pick another airline. Good luck trying to talk to a human if you need support. Their “chat” service is merely a bot. Not helpful. No ability to add bags on the app after you book. You will be picked apart by fees and extras. Contracted airport employees (like Swissport) are slow, incompetent, dismissive, etc. Boarding is a disorganized mess and airplanes are dirty. Inflight service is a joke.
I purchased a few flights from this airline and decided to get megavolotea. Well that was a mistake to say the least. At the gate they charged me €30 extra to get my boarding pass. Thought I had priority boarding turns out that’s not included with the paid subscription. So deceptive not worth the money
The app abuses the notification system to send promotions, unfortunately negating valuable uses such as sending up to date flight information, etc, if you choose to disable notifications to avoid this nonsense.
Downloaded it for the second time to give it another try but it was most disappointing (again). It was impossible for me to book a flight as I constantly get a banner telling me that "Log In failed" and it blocked any other functions. I am not a member of Megavolotea so I don't know why it insists on me logging in. Finally I used the website and it worked great. Never again.

1. wouldn't let me check in on the app, despite it being a few hours before the flight. 2. required me to go to the airport to check in. 3. was charged 30 euros to get my boarding pass sounds like a scam to me.... plane ticket that was marketed as 50 euro should have been marketed as 80. avoid this airline.
Worst app ever. Tried to set up account. Took me three tries. Finally booked as a guest. Then app kept locking up and freezing. Took me 45 minute to book the flight!

Deserves zero stars for a slow app that makes things as complicated as possible. Trying to check flight status took 5 minutes for something that should take 30 seconds. Hopefully this was just a glitch. Dog poop app from a dog poop airline.
