Washington's Lottery

This app seems to be 5-10 years behind other apps. The only reason I use it is I’m forced to. It is the only app for Washington. The only issue is the scanner (the only reason you download the app) consistently gets stuck on the loading after you scan a ticket, will crash or we’ll just say contact lottery. For as much money as the WA Date lottery makes they should be able to update this (What seems like a ancient peace of technology) you are forced to use it because of the points if you want to get something back for your loosing tickets & not feel like your wasting money. Not getting anything back. I know the stores items are expensive but I rather get a small amount back then nothing. I have a literal pile of loosing tickets because that need scanned but I cannot because the scanner will not cooperate. Please FIX THIS APP WA STATE LOTTERY. I probably spend $300-$400 a week in your machines and would like to have a working app to do this all in.

if this isn't 100% proof that anything related to government is garbage... and scammy for that matter. the state "lotto" and everything about it reeks of corruption and/or SEVERE incompetence no matter what aspect you are looking at. the fact that a lottery of desperation for the poverty riddled and controlled plebes even exists at all is proof we are living in a joke of a 'society' run by psychos and sociopaths all the a way. the best thing the world could do collectively at this point is collectively completely reject it, disavow all of it and simply start something better up despite and inspite of it. and i mean walking away from all of it including the government controlled corporations that only exist and have power because we continue to acknowledge them as authority at all. the truth is, despite all illusions and appearances, they are literally useless and nothing without our continued support of them. The 'emperor' truly has no clothes and never did. the sooner we acknowledge this fact appropriately, the sooner we can start truly evolving to an actual better world. it starts when we stop letting them manipulate,enslave and keep us unconscious to what they are doing. oh yeah and this app is clearly pathetic and broken and has been for years now. exactly like our clown government fake two party system run by other means than most realize yet.

I only use the app for the ticket scanner to double check my scratchers. More often then not the app doesn’t work once you scan the barcode. Sometimes it freezes on the loading screen. Sometimes it comes back with “Unexpected server error”, which at this point is a misnomer because it is actually pretty expected. Lol. Also, opening the ticket scanner pauses or stops whatever I’m listening to on my phone. I assume that’s because of the way it’s using the camera, but it’s annoying. If they fixed the backend and made the scanner not interrupt the audio on my phone this would be a great app.

Someone at WA State Lottery needs to pay attention! The updated app is terrible. Half the time when I try to scan a ticket, the scan camera turns white. Even when it doesn’t, I’ll try about ten times, moving the ticket around to different angles, and it still won’t scan. I got locked out of my account when I tried to log in after the new app launched. So I called and got a reset, and it still didn’t work. Then they sent me an email saying they were working on it and would let me know when it was fixed. Then I tried to send feedback in the app, and got an error message, that it couldn’t even contact within its own app! Now I’m not getting credits for tickets in my account because I’m just going to the store to scan. This app update is a disaster.

I just downloaded this app this morning. I used it to scan my non winning ticket. 😭 Maybe something has changed, but I was not required to give a bunch of data, in fact I didn’t add any data. It scans a lot of different ticket types, Powerball, MegaMillions, WA State Lotto, plus Scratchers. You can see the numbers that won and past numbers. I rarely play the lotto, but this app makes it super easy to see if your ticket won, or what it won, or in my case that it didn’t win.

I have tried many times setting up an account and have even had others within my family try and set up an account so we can use 360 to collect points for scratch tickets we buy that are not winners. We always receive the following: Input validation error. Contact Player Services. It will not allow us to set-up an account PERIOD. I have contacted Player Services multiple times whom state it works fine on their end and to remove app and re-load and or clear cache…still does not work and thus is very frustrating as now Player Services ignores my e-mails.

I’m sophisticated enough to understand the lottery games are...at best...a tax on people who are dumb at maths. I have played any way, even though my understanding of combinations & permutations means winning unlikely. When it was simple to scan my tickets on my phone & get near instant feedback, I played the game. Now you want my bio & give me less feedback. My state is stupid to undermine the games with such undesirable features that invade my privacy & make me hate the process. So now, when I want to throw a little money away, I’ll go to one of the nearby casinos. Dumb, dumber, dumberer. And other states like Colorado, the governments spend their lottery tax earnings on infrastructure that people can see...but not here. I’m done giving $ to Washington via the lottery.

Before the most current update you did not have to be signed in to check your ticket. Plus the older version of the app showed you your ticket numbers even if it wasn’t a winner. The updated version of the app you have to have an account and be signed in to scan your ticket. Once your ticket is scanned the updated version just says “Sorry, your not a winner”, it doesn’t show you your numbers on your ticket like the previous version. I like comparing my physical ticket numbers to what the app shows to make sure there’s not a mistake. Disappointed that that feature was changed. Probably won’t be buying as many tickets in the future.

The March 2024 update (for iPhone 12, anyway) eliminates the line that said when the next drawing was for that game as well as the cutoff time, under each game name. This is valuable information for people like me who are not gambling-addicted daily players who put hundreds of dollars into the lottery every week. Do you not want money from the occasional user, Washington? Leaning heavy on the “stupid tax” on daily players just like you do on the “sin tax” for booze?

Like all the other reviews said, they screwed the pooch on their apps so they can track and sell your information. This is disgusting that if I want to just check my ticket I have to provide ALL OF MY INFORMATION. I’m almost shocked that they didn’t ask for a social security number. Not only is their app stealing your information but even after I filled out and created an account it says that it’s locked and I need to contact a customer support person. Really glad that these vultures are allowed to operate a gambling app that is now going to further target you. Good job everyone involved, you made a quick and easy way to check tickets into a hair pulling exercise in frustration.

I downloaded this app on March 6, 2021. I was NOT required to create an account/log-in in order to scan my lotto tickets. Of course none of the other app features are available to me. The app works perfectly fine for the one reason I got it. The one criticism I do have is that on an iPad the image is the size of a small cell phone screen and displays only in a portrait orientation (I use the landscape orientation exclusively). Oh, one more complaint... I wish it would tell me sometime that I have a winning ticket!

The redesign that just came out is awful. The design team and UX team should realize they removed important info for users. The details of ticket sale cutoff time used to be easily readable under each draw game. Additionally, the scanner is now broken. The camera is washed out after one scan. And the app must be hard closed to fix this bug. Hopefully the team can sort the issues. Went from a 5 star app to borderline unusable. The best feature of this app was the scanner. Now it is awful and bugged. Before you GA a major redesign make sure the functionality is still there and bug bash it.

This new Washington Lottery app is a total joke. I like the old one much better. When you brought up the old version you could immediately see the numbers for that day weather you want to see lottery, hit 5, match 4 or keno you could see that very nights drawings. But now I keep getting a message that says that the numbers aren’t available at this time but here’s the thing if I delete the app and put it back on it will show me the numbers. The only way I can see each days numbers is I have to delete the app and then put it back on. C’mon, you can do better than that. This is a joke.

This app was changed in 2024 to update due to too many errors. Has gotten worse. In 2023 you could check the status after 2 hours of results, now, I’m three drawings behind. Not only does the scanner keep saying “there was an error please try again”, but you can’t even see the winning numbers. App only seems to work a couple of hours before drawings. At first, I thought it was my phone, but restarts didn’t help. Just wasted my time like this app does. If it does work, at least you can get points for a prize.

It works pretty quick. Just click scan in the bottom right corner. Then scan. Don’t click on “Enter Number” or it will ask you to set up an account. I guess that is the part some reviews are talking about giving their personal info. I’ve never had to do that.

A completely non-functional ticket scanner is totally inexcusable considering I’m betting it’s the primary reason people even download the app in the first place. I’d rather scan my tickets at home than hold up the line at an in person machine. The app worked just fine, nearly every time in an older version. And I see updates as recent as 2 days ago??? For bug fixes??? A joke. I am going to chalk it up to underpaid and understaffed software engineers rather than the competency of the engineers themselves because that’s the more likely scenario.

Used to be able to scan a ticket without having to give away your information to the jackals but they want to sell your information like so many other to whichever scammer that pays for the info. Funny how everyone says your information is confidential yet after owning a smartphone and downloading specific apps you get scam calls up the wazoo. Not giving these clowns the opportunity. will the developers have enough junk to update the review pictures to show the information they require to use this scanner? My guess is no they won’t because they know that they are overreaching hardcore.

I don’t play very often but every once in a while I figure I can afford to throw a couple of bucks at it when there’s a large jackpot. This app used to be a convenient way to quickly check your ticket. I guess there’s been some changes to the app since last I used it so that you now have to create and account just to check your ticket. Makes absolutely no sense. I don’t have to ID myself when I walk into a store and ask them to check the ticket. Basically they took all of the convenience out of the app in favor of personal data collection. Good bye app, and WA lottery.

I can’t believe they got approval to release the update app as it’s absolute garbage!! The scan your ticket feature works maybe (and I’m being generous) 25% of the time. It’s so wonderful (being sarcastic) to see “system error”or “server down” or “try later” message 75% of the time. The old version provided much more info at a glance, such as when the next drawing is. Now you have to click on each game to see when it will be. This app is a joke and shouldn’t have been put out to the public until it’s actually usable.

I have been using this app for a while and I used to be able to just click on the app icon and scan my ticket in just a few seconds ... with the recent update that the developers did this is a thing of the past - LOL. I had to create an account and now the scanner doesn’t even work ! Stupid update on the developers end! The app basically doesn’t function now ... I don’t want to check all my numbers because I keep tickets for a long time sometimes and I have to go back and check them ... what’s the point now of even using the app ???

In and as a Wa. State resident I find out how ironic that such a poorly ran organization can exist. I think is ran and managed by the individuals who run the ferry system. I don’t believe that in a lottery scratch program that if no top prices remain that the tickets should be removed or annotated on the ticket machines or posted that they don’t exist. It is the majority of less fortunate with not a millionaire budget to continue to win the big prize and are disappointed in the outcome of there purchase. This maybe the cause of your 1.7 rating and less than a stellar rating.

I used to use this for ticket scanning. Now, with the updates, you must create a profile that includes name, phone, email, age, gender and other invasive information JUST TO SCAN A TICKET. I complained to Washington lottery, and they told me the changes were necessary to 1) make sure no one under 18 was playing, and 2) to participate in the awards program soon to roll out. For the first point, I don’t understand how this is necessary and for the second point, who cares if like 90% of users only want the app to scan tickets. Terrible, terrible update. What were they thinking.

I was liking this app for the most part until I learned that points are forfeited after a year. That’s not cool. The one and only thing that I like about this app now is the scanner. However, I can do that in any store that sells scratchers; so really the app is not of much use to me. Very disappointed to get close to enough points to get the item I want, then have most of them taken away.

This was a wonderful app because it contained lottery info pertaining to JUST the games in my particular state. And now, SURPRISE, must create an account with loads of personal information. Gender? Birthdate? Phone?—-REALLY? If it was just email and password, I could work with that, maybe. But now let’s gather as much information as we can so it can be accessible to someone who wants it bad enough. SKIP IT! So now, I’ll just use my $3.50 a gallon gas and drive to the store to do my business. Thanks for ruining the app I had been waiting for, for a long time, finally got, and enjoyed using. Goodnight!

This app is .6 stars and that’s being awfully generous. I know it says 1.6 but the one is obviously a given so not counting. You guys fvcked up bad on this one. Can’t even get an e-gift card anymore. I have $4000 worth of loser tickets and can’t even get what I want from the store. Your app developers should find new careers. Just read the reviews.. if any business had reviews as terrible as yours you better believe a top down reorganization would ensue immediately if they wished to bail out their sinking ship. Your APP SUNK!

Now you have to open an account with Washington Loto just to try to scan your ticket. But the real question is will it scan , oh heck no. #1 is why do you have to even have an account and # why doesn't the junk work like the last app did. They make you give name, address, phone# dob just to scan your ticket. Guess it time to stop playing as it's become this stupid. Oh and if you look it's not made by the lotto commission it's made by specific games inc. that's who you are giving your info to.

Zero stars, not one. The people who designed and approved the latest update to this app should all be walked out the door. You have taken an app that was simple, effective and intuitive into something useless, annoying, and with some obvious failures that should have been considered way before it was posted for download. I don’t want to give you access to my personal information and I certainly don’t care about your “server error” after I have filled in 15 or more fields in your create an account form. Zero stars

Apps easy to use, get to scan my tickets and apparently now I get points even for losing tickets. Been racking up points with all my losing tickets, After reading the reviews sounds like everyone’s deleting the app, hopefully that means I’ll be able to get something good but I probably won’t lol

The app used to work fine but then they upgraded it and now requires a login with all kinds of sensitive personal information. Simply it’s information I won’t share on an app. As part of the state government, I didn’t see any information on how the state is maintaining the confidentiality of this information and what are the permitted uses of this information. Can this information be obtain from a freedom of information request? I don’t need this information in the public domain. Please return the app to previous version.

This used to be a 5-star app, giving you quick results, well-written intros, and an easy ticket scanner. Since the major update in November 2019, the scanner only works some of the time (error messages), the app doesn’t update the results for a few hours after the drawing, and you are now required to register to get any of the benefits from this app. I’m out. I’ll go back to the old method of just checking the website, if I bother playing at all. Whoever came up with this idea needs to be demoted.

What’s wrong with it? Having to sign in and give oersonal info in order to scan your numbers. I expect to fill out forms for a drivers license, but to play a lottery game, really? Suggest WA Lottery replace whoever approved this app change - transfer them to DMV and then roll back to the prior version. It was a fun game of chance. Some Big Brother control freak(s) took the fun out of the game with unnecessary requirements. It’s like paying someone to make your life more complex. Won’t be playing anymore unless and until they roll back this app.

Have to give it one star because I have to put down a rating. Would love to be able to use it, but every time over the last three months I get an “unable to open latest results” error message that keeps me from checking the other three tickets that I have been waiting to scan. Pay someone some money and make an app that is useful at all. Maybe use some lottery proceeds or the cannabis tax since the schools don’t seem to be getting it

This app has a terrible scanner on the Apple iPhone 15 pro max. Scan one ticket, if you can anyways as it is slow, then scan one immediately after and it whitewashes out, you cannot see the ticket through the camera and have to wait for it to finally refocus itself. I’ve found no issues with it being the phone through several inquiries on Google. Please fix this, it was slow on my Apple iPhone 13 Pro, but not like this…..

This app needs a major revision. The user experience isn’t great. While it does update winning numbers in a timely fashion, you sometimes have to close the app and reopen it. Not ideal. If you enter tickets for points, the app randomly logs you out after a period of no use so it may throw an error forcing you to log back in. Got enough points for a reward? Good luck trying to get a gift card. For a while, gift cards were easy to get. Now you have to fumble through a series of windows to reach egiftcards. This is where it gets worse. The app/store essentially freeze when you try to get a gift card. If you think going on the desktop is any better. You are seemingly logged out after you log in when trying to get a gift card.

I love this app but as of yesterday I cannot choose a gift card. It keeps freezing up. It is not from my device because I checked on a few devices with no luck. It freezes in the gift card but won’t let me retrieve it.

This app was down until they decided to completely upgrade everything and now it doesn’t work 90% of the time when trying to scan lottery tickets and you have to manually enter the number on all scratch tickets rendering this app mostly useless. You can’t even collect reward points because it says it has already been entered, even though it hasn’t been entered and you get no points for the tickets.

This app was useful. I don’t play lottery games all the time, but for the last month, the app will not scan the barcode on the ticket. I read that they now require an account, so I created one an tried again. No change, it still will not scan a barcode. I checked my settings and the permissions are fine. I don’t know how they could break THE major feature of the app, but they hav successfully managed to do so and are really slow to fix it, if they even plan to do so.

For a long time I used this app and it worked just fine. Never seemed to have any issues with it. It was a little bit laggy here and there but now it’s straight garbage. It literally takes forever to load into anything. I don’t know what they’ve done to it, but please fix…… It used to be convenient but now, Id have a better chance of winning a jackpot then I would being able to use this app without any issues…… 😞

Good lord this app is useless. I’m just going to delete it. The only reason to have it is the scanner and mine hasn’t worked in years. I’ve reinstalled the app, I’ve looked for version updates. No. This developer should be fired stat. Hard to imagine a govt program working, but at least you’d think a simple scanning app would be within reason. Way to go Washington state. If your considering downloading this app, just skip the headache and forget it.

I love this app and have gotten two very nice items for my points. The knife holder is fantastic! Only downfall is ya get alotta “something went wrong please call” messages so you have to stop an try again later, it happens way more often than it should.

My last review was low due to not being able to scan your ticket without having to log in. Now you don’t have to login to scan your ticket, but I still liked it when it showed your scanned ticket and showed the winning numbers from each line.

I was looking for a simple scanner to scan my lotto tickets. This app requires an account be created before I can simply scan my ticket. They state in the app that the personal information they require is for age verification. This is not necessary nor is it required by law. It shouldn’t be this difficult to scan a ticket in my opinion. Let the lady behind the counter check my ID when I collect my winnings, I don’t need an app to “pretend” it knows that I’m an adult because I have given it someone’s personal info.

I downloaded this app to be able to scan my tickets without having to go to the store, because we buy tickets once a week and check them at a later date. I work nights and don’t make it to the store as often - my wife usually buys the tickets and if they’re winners I give them to her to cash in. However, every time I scan it says “see lottery.” What’s the point of having the app if my main purpose is to scan my tickets?

This was a good app before the update now it is absolutely terrible since the update. You are now required to create an account to check tickets not sure what the logic behind that is. I think they ask for more info than needed to create account but even when I tried to create an account I keep getting an error “Unexpected server error please contact player services”. Do not recommend until they fix this app and maybe put it back the way it was.

Ticket scanner works, even on multi/draw tickets (but numbers are not readily saved for future reference). Jackpot and winning numbers are updated a couple hours after most drawings. Push notifications work when "The new winning numbers are up!" (uh, except its Thursday, and I deselected notifications for all games except Hit5 and Powerball so I guess it's all or nothing with the notifications)

I would give this app ZERO STARS if I could. The latest update is a huge downgrade from the prior version. It no longer shows the drawn numbers when you scan your ticket. Just indicates that your ticket is not a winner. Forces you to enter your personal information and create a login. This should NOT be required because you can neither purchase nor redeem tickets online. I am deleting this app. Will consider re-loading if the app is upgraded to actually be useful.

I had to give all kinds of personal information. Then wouldn’t let me sign on. Then after resetting pass word. Still couldn’t sign on. Then uninstalled and reinstalled just to find out wouldn’t work on tickets that did have “my Lottery 360” on them. Wouldn’t even let me enter by hand. Will by less tickets now that the only convenient way to check them is by wait in line at the store. Seems like they would want to free up kiosk for people buying tickets.

Just got the latest update which makes it inoperable with out setting up an account. It was fine before that to check tickets. But why would I want to set up an account and provide so much personal data (name, birth date, address, phone#, email address) just to see if I have a winning ticket or not? I’m not applying for a bank account or a loan. No wonder this app has so many more one star ratings over all other ratings. Just let me scan the ticket!!!

This app has been absolutely terrible since the update. They did an update with it a few months ago and the scanner on it doesn’t work. You might be able to scan one ticket and then you’re done most the time you can’t even do that be aware of this issue, they need to go back to what they had before a refund and whoever redesigned this thing for him because it’s awful.

The scanner has gotten worse over the past few updates, and now with the new UI changes it’s just garbage now. I’ve got 1 scratch ticket to scan, but attempts at scanning other tickets don’t seem to find/recognize the barcode. iPhone 15 Pro w/ios 17.4 UPDATE - made even worse: There was a new update, and now it seems to scan barcodes super quick, but then it says “Error or invalid entry. The service is disabled.”
