There are too many pop ups and you can't X out at times. I want news not adds.

It’s amazing you people care so little about what your viewers want. You can’t tell me you can’t find someone to design this app so it actually works! Then there’s the pop up ads, oh my gosh! What a bunch of morons you must have running your app design and internet department. A few years ago you had a very good app, I could go to settings and select only News stories for my area alone. Now it’s so unorganized it’s aggravating to use it at all. I’ve deleted it and then because I wanted to have local News, I’d go back and reinstall it, but it’s no better than before. You’d think with all the negative reviews you get, you’d fix it, but I guess you don’t read them, because as I said earlier, you don’t care. It’s disappointing that a News station that’s been around as long as you have can’t do any better than this. Enjoy you whopping 2.5 star rating!

I was looking for an email address to respond to story content, since I am not on social media. This app is very helpful, giving good news and weather coverage generally. I am concerned about two stories today re: kitten and puppy abuse. The point of such stories about animal and human abuse should be the punishment. Otherwise, the story just gives criminals bad ideas.

Great news and I enjoy keeping up with the latest in breaking news via the notifications. I find the ads very annoying. Almost like you’re trying to play a “Free Game” on the AppStore such as CandyCrush where you have to watch an ad to proceed. I’m sure you get lots of funding locally and have sales teams that could incorporate local business into a softer ad approach. Thanks for your consideration. This ap might get deleted soon from my phone should this not change.

This app has been basically unusable for the last 1-2 months. Every time I open it to look at a news story. The list of stories pops up for 1 second and then the whole app shuts down. I’ve tried uninstalling and re-installing. I’ve tried on WiFi and data signal. Seems to be a problem with the app.

This app constantly shuts down! I go in, X out the ad, click on news, it opens for 2 seconds and then the whole thing closes out. It has been doing this on and off for months, but the last few weeks it has been constant. Guess I’ll have to try one of the other news apps.

When you open it there is a Joe Biden campaign add wanting you to sign your name to his side of the far left. Stop tricking people with this add or any other add. Should be a half star rating. Too many apps out there for this bull crap. Remove it or I’ll remove the app altogether. It’s obvious that news7 is democratic. Fake news at its best. Report the terrorists attacks in our cities by our own people. People are dying. WAKE UP!!!

It is bad enough when you have to click past an ad to look at WDBJ7’s online app, but now they have added a ridiculous video ad that has to be viewed. The app stories often are incomplete and have grammatical errors. Also some stories promise follow-up, which never happens. I am seriously considering discarding the app and trying another source for local news.

Too many ads, news not posted in order. Get a breaking news alert and go to the app you have to scroll thru old news to find the breaking news. As you scroll you will find news from two days ago before news from this morning.

I use to use this app all the time to get my news. I stopped using it after the update that now requires you to have your location on to open it. Why does a news app need to have my location?

Too many alerts and too many ads. Too many alerts for minor things. “Someone dropped a gum wrapper today in Lynchburg.” Big Breaking news. I don’t live in Lynchburg or other “x” city and don’t care what happens there. Shutting everything down. Next step: remove the app.

Plays same news over morning, noon, evening then again next day. Showing CNN Fake news during the Sunday morning news at 6:34 am watch from my phone as couldn’t pick up channel on TV. Don’t worry changed to channel 10 which is on my side. See ya!!

Lately when I have a news alert pop up that I want to read more about, I can’t because when I go to open the app it just sits there with the little circle rotating and never opens...

You send me notifications to check this out and then I have to watch a commercial before I can see the notification. No thanks I turned off notifications.

The app tends to lag greatly on news reports-I see the same story for days. Which makes this not my first choice to stay updated

This app is one of the worst streaming apps I’ve ever downloaded. When you click on Live Stream, it plays a commercial, making you think it’s going to stream live and after the advertisement it says live stream not available.

Poor on demand service. May or may not work on any day.

Was bad enough to have to close an ad every time I wanted to see news. Now I have to endure a complete video before seeing breaking news! UNACCEPTABLE!!! Will change to another news outlet!

Ever since I updated this app it will no longer work i redownload and redownload and still nothing I haven’t been able to use this app in over six months

This app hasn’t worked for several months. I’ve deleted, and re-added app. Also disabled ad-blocker and VPN and the app still doesn’t work.

The moment you click on the icon the app crashes on my iPhone 12 pro.

Crashes as soon as it opens. I really don't want to watch commercials before I open the news or weather. Please go back to the old app. It worked great.

Doesn’t work since last update

There are several great features in this app. I love that it allows me to use Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. The only issue is there are spam ads that say I have won a 500 dollar gift card. If the team looks into this issue and corrects it, this would be a five star app.

If I get one more pop up that starts playing audio I’m deleting the app.

No place to download WDBJ7

I used to love this app and checked it everyday for the latest news. I've done my best to overlook all the grammar issues and typos, but come on people...do you even read the write-up before submitting it??!! Most of the errors could be caught by my fifth grade child!!! Now I've started noticing that the app isn't updated with current news stories for days! For example, it's December 27 and several articles currently published in the app date back to December 23, and no, there have been no updates on these older stories!!! Looks like I'll have to start tuning in to WSLS 10's app in order to get up-to-date news stories. So sad!

Just downloaded the new app. Already I see a problem, I see no way to search for articles. For example, I wanted to find info on New York primary results and see no way to search for it. I went back into to app and found the search feature, however no result ever posted, nor did a message that no results were found. Just because something is new and looks different doesn't mean it is better than what it replaced.

I don't even watch your news videos because I'm not going to sit there and watch a 30 second ad every time I want to watch a news story. Plus, if I rotate my phone during the video, the ad comes back on for another 30 seconds. Place your ads at the top or bottom of the screen, don't let them interrupt your news stories.

Where are closing shift and delays on this new app? Old app had it on pull down menu. Updated on 9/15 and in settings it says you can choose places for closing notifications. After putting it in and pressing done nothing happens.

The old app was better. The weather section on this app doesn't show much about upcoming week. I depend on wdbj7 for my weather and the way the app is now it's awful. I also don't get weather updates anymore when there is a warning. The app doesn't even show warnings or weather advisories anymore.

Pull down menu is gone. Can't filter news by type or locality. Huge, ugly logo interspersed dozens of times between stories. Search doesn't work. Thinks nascar is newsworthy even with sports turned off. Alert sound is obnoxious. Just awful. No wonder Norfolk-Southern is getting the hell out of Roanoke. They're embarrassed to be associated with the backwoods TV station.

Old version was so much better. Now I see that dang McDonalds ad every time I open app. Wish the ads would at least change. Have not been to McDonalds in years. Don't think you can search for stories anymore. If possible does not seem intuitive. Dropping the ball. So sad.

Doesn't seem possible but seems to be getting worse. Reminded us for a week about events at Tech and yet I'm stuck in traffic because there's a wreck on the interstate. Feels like the app has become as politically motivated as the national media. And the ads are horrible.

I get so fed up with having to watch a commercial for each news story. Especially hello this is Chris Hill and I am so grateful humble and blessed to share your money matters. Oh my gosh why do I have to watch that for every single news story I watch!?!?

It looks great, love how it works. BUT no way that I see to get to U.S. and world news. That's a BIG omission! Since the previous app is no longer functioning, I hope an update is really SOON!

The app this replaced was a lot better, no local news, no world news, no irresistible news. I am deleting this app and signing up for wsls app instead. Sorry wdbj you dropped the ball with this one

Have to log into Facebook for more stories. Hardly anything new from day to day. It was not that good before but now this app is just awful!

It hasn't worked for a week despite uninstalling and reinstalling and restarting my phone. Please fix it.

Will not allow set up of notifications. Terrible. App removed and I've gone elsewhere to be notified of local school closings

Installed new app on iPhone .Cuts off without notice. Poor performance and it takes forever to find anything at all! Don't like it at all!

Recently the app will not start. The advertisement will not load -- not that I want to see the ad. I am ready to delete the app.

I don't usually do reviews but I find the McDonald's ad that pops up EVERY time the ap is opened is quite annoying.
