I have heard for years about WCU and more cons than pros but my personal experience has been excellent. I decided to go to private school even with a 4.0 science gpa because Of CA nursing school impactions. I’m 34 years old with two kids and I’m done waiting. In addition, I’m lucky to have an educational trust to pay my tuition which is not the whole amount due to so many class transfers so overall private school was the best route for me. Still I had my concerns due to reading reviews about WCU. I recommend avoiding students reviews and instead look at accreditation school reviewing sites. These are far more accurate. Some students get into WCU without any school experience and are setting themselves up for too much. Like I said, I have already completed half of the classes and have adjusted to demanding classes. The staff have been super helpful and I’m very happy with the school.
When i first spoke to Emily, i was skiptical about the school and its nursing program due to the fact that tjey always own a career college. But after i got to know the admissions director, Monica, and few other faculties, i find the school to be super friendly and layback. I am halfway through my first term; i have nothing but positive experience from both the professors, Admin staff, and classmates alike. I highly recommend WCU. just to be clear, i am not an interested party of the school nor did i get pay to write this review. Its purely coming from my heart. Ben C
Love how connected the school community is on this app! We can post just about anything on the student feed for everyone and anyone to respond. I have found a great deal of information through other classmates. Great platform where students don’t feel lost. Highly recommend it, especially to new incoming students!
App is great for students as you can ask your peers questions regarding classes, selling textbooks or old uniforms. Or even to keep up to date with information about the school. They do a awful job moderating the content. The feed is now clogged with multiple posts about CPR/BLS/ALS, MLM marketing, and most recently someone claiming to sell high end makeup with the comment “this is not a scam”. Just hoping they start to stop these stupid posts so actual important content is found.
I haven’t felt so welcome as I did with WCU- even through virtual lecture. The tools are provided for student success. I had been jumping from one school to another and this is by far the best experience I’ve had so far. I hope to complete my program soon and hope to become and alumni where I can come back and help others achieve their goals.
This app is really convenient and I love having all my information in one place on my phone. However, something needs to be done about the notification settings... if there was a way to view all at once or just simple scrolling by the notification would clear it because having 500 notifications is a bit much a quite unnecessary.
Welcome to the age of technology. In a time where so many institutions and industries saw they were behind on progress and innovation, especially brought to the forefront because of the pandemic, I can really appreciate the efficiency and usefulness of this app. It completely streamlines school, life, and work flow. Great app! Love how connected I can be with other students at WCU. Also keeps me in the know and helps answer questions regarding assignments, uniform standards, textbook info, events at school etc.. I feel so much less nervous about taking this program now with this app.
I’m so glad to have a school app that has it’s own little Facebook group. So much connection that happens. To top of the sweetness, I can get homework reminders and announcements for class without having to look at my emails!
Makes it much more enjoyable and informative. It’s nice that everyone is helpful, and the fact we can all Join in and create a safe place for students is the best tool I’ve experienced so far in school.
The first couple days I felt a little lost at times. Navigating the website took a bit of getting used to. I kept worrying that I was missing something. But 3 days in and I feel more comfortable now and I’m ready for the rest of the term:))
This app is great to be up to date with all of your assignments and updates with the course. However, I would recommend to lessen the updates. It does get overwhelming when you have over 800+ notifications from each and every discussion board or assignment posted.
Please fix the app, with the last update I can no longer search through posts. If I put in any key word in the search bar I always get “NO POSTS” whereas before it always produced a match. Today I have received 2 notifications on my phone of ppl responding to my posts and when I open the app, NOTHING.
This app is great. The design is awesome and the new update brings more life to it. You can now check your student email and remain upto date with class lessons and activities.
Before the update. Was able to “search” key words in the forum section of the app. Now when entering a word, it notifies you that nothing populated or was searched. Wish the app was able to do that again. Made it easy to look back at old post using reference words.
The App worked perfectly well initially, but for some reason, I can’t seem to search for a post on a particular topic. I have to keep scrolling to find it, which is time consuming. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it, but still not working
Great app for staying in touch with students at the university ..... I only wish that when we add friends we are notified when they post or post shows up on profile
The app is great but I don’t need 1000+ notifications especially if I have read the notification on my desktop. It’s overwhelming that I have to read “read” my notifications
The app uploads everything from a previous time leaving you to delete each item one by one. I do not have the time to delete items one by one. Really should make navigation through the app smoother and clean up of unwanted items more accessible throughout the app.
I used to be able to use the app just fine, but now I’m unable to log in. When I try to, it logs me out immediately and asks me to sign in again. It is a bit overwhelming to see 300+ notifications and I wish there was a way to mass delete all of the notifications.
