Super Fun-Will Play Again

I loved this app! I found it on tiktok, and decided it would be awesome to host a virtual party due to COVID-19. We hosted a party with the Misty Isle theme. The app made hosting super easy and hassle free. I wish I had read the theme overview to my party during the introduction so they had better context and background information. They were all feeling a bit confused and I was confused as well because I did not know what each player knew and did not know. Everything went smoothly, but there was some confusion about when the victim was supposed to die and when the murderer was supposed to come forward. The only reason it did not get 5 stars was because the app did not calculate the votes correctly and the “winners” were not accurate based on the votes, so I had to have everyone text me their vote. I also would have liked to vote as a host, because I did not know who the murderer was until the conclusion, but I did not have a voting button. I will be downloading more packs, and I am eager to try to host an “in person” murder mystery! Thanks for making this awesome app.

Best zoom party ever!

I’ve actually never played a murder mystery before and wanted to bring one virtually for my team’s holiday party and after extensive research I landed on this app because it seemed so much more accessible and easy to use than these other $60-$70 mysteries. My coworkers and I had a blast! We played with all 21 characters on zoom. We played for just over an hour but you can easily play for 2-3 hours depending on how much time you have and want to devote to each round. The app is easy to follow and I loved the voting feature. Another reason I rated this game 5 startle was their live chat support, I needed help more than once and or had questions about how to play and they answered me within minutes! I would def buy another game and recommend this app. One thing that could be improved is the instructions both for host/guest as the host doesn’t see the same thing as the guest sees and if you never played a murder mystery before you aren’t exactly sure of how and when to go to the next round, etc. But otherwise a great app and so affordable!

A great time!

Thanks for the speedy support reply A was almost in real time! My only critique was that for us first timers we could use a few more specific tips on how to explain to players how to interact with each other to get more info from each other. We didn’t dig quite as deep as we could have but still had a great time!

Storytelling like no other!

I hardly leave any reviews but this app definitely deserved my review. First I’d like to thank the support team who answered my questions and gave me great ideas on how to decorate my home. They even shared a link to a sweet playlist! My guest and I loved how much we interacted with each other to tell a story. This has great storylines, characters, drama and mystery! And talk about those surprise twists at the end! Can’t wait to play another. Hopefully this app gets the traction it deserves. I see some reviews complaining about the price... I don’t mind the price compared $50-$80 you’ll spend on a murder pack online and that’s not even including decorations and food. In total I spent about $60 (theme, food and decorations). I would have spent roughly around $150 for all that but was able to save so much by using this app. Thanks devs! Keep up the great work!

Small Review but mostly Theme Suggestions

I have yet to organize a party, but all of the packs look very fun and are relatively cheap! I really hope to use a theme soon! As for recommendations for future themes, I have a few: -A college Greek Life theme (may be difficult to make 'family friendly' though) -A high school Senior Prom theme (all characters involved could still be 18, so as not to involve violence against minors) -Alternatively, a high school reunion theme -A fairytale theme (preferably all from the same author, i.e. all Grimm Bros, all Hans Christian Anderson, all Aesop, etc) -A more specific 'fairytale' theme with all characters from old popular children's novels, like Peter Pan or Alice in Wonderland -A Shakespeare theme (with characters from various plays, maybe Shakespeare himself is the one who's killed?) -Various holiday themes, like Santa being murdered on Christmas Eve or the mysterious death of a monster during the annual monster gathering of Halloween -A Greek gods and goddesses theme -Get really meta and have a 'murder at a murder mystery party' theme -A female only theme, maybe a bachelorette party -A superhero theme Aaaaand that's all I have for now. You guys probably can't even make that many themes, but I got a little carried away and don't wanna delete any of them

Not made for virtual, online, teams, zoom, FaceTime.

We just finished our party. How do I get my money back? This was not made for virtual party like is advertised. There was no way to talk to people privately. We should have been able to see our part a couple days early so we could practice our characters secrets and objectives rather than trying to figure it out during. As the host it was not clear on how to take the party to the next step. At the end I didn’t get to bite on anything as the host and then when I clicked on results it only gave me an error message of “pull to refresh” “no results”. My guest said they voted on best dressed, best character and we could not get any results. Out of 5 stars this was negative 1. I will be leaving a review to warn others but would like my money back please!

Disappointed

I read that there was a pdf version available for users who didn’t have an iOS device. I purchased a theme called Copper Creek Calamity to try it out. Apparently you have to pay $3 extra for each user who will be using the pdf version. Also they can’t participate in the voting or other features that iOS users get. The design is poor, we had five players but the game came with seven characters so there were plot holes, and no one could figure out how we were solving a murder mystery-this theme focused on us trying to figure out how to stop a potential bank robbery? Then when someone was murdered towards the end of the game, the murderer was instructed to confess right away. So there wasn’t much sleuthing to be done. Idk disappointed in paying $8 (including one pdf version) for a one time failed party game.

What games make me want to see in the future?

You said to put in a review what seems really like to see in the future i’d like to see a thing with a vampires in the castle and werewolves and all that Gothic stuff that like that and like to see a steam with maybe Wellington and his men and berries and gardens in Tennessee charger such as that. That may be a theme when you’ve got mythical reachers like dragons and unicorns and Pegasus is because humans and other things in which people can really stretch the imagination and Minnie children’s hands and I didn’t abilities or just have fun pretending to be something that they never will be such as an unicorn. I have many more ideas what things like we want to see in the future?

Good but needs improvement

This app has a lot of potential but needs improvement. I think it’s an affordable option at $1 a player. However, there are 3 issues I ran into: 1. One character’s objectives had to do with a player that wasn’t in a character pack I bought. So his objectives were confusing and he wasn’t able to complete them 2. More guidance throughout the game and specific questions for each player to ask would be helpful in facilitating the game. Not a whole script, but just a few questions per player. 3. The host should be able to vote since they don’t see the murderer until the end. They also aren’t able to vote on “best” awards. Our voting never worked and so we had to vote my mouth. Overall I’d play again, but the game would benefit from some minor improvements!

SO FUN

Used this app to host a murder mystery party for my 28th birthday and it was an absolute blast! We chose the Copper Creek theme and went all out with Wild West decorations and costumes, and the app did not disappoint when it came to the storyline and characters. Definitely will try the other themes in the future. Really, really hope they keep making more and would be great if they could make an app for Androids.

Didn’t get what I paid for

So I just downloaded this app today, my friend suggested it and said we could all play together whenever. Since none of us had a theme pack I purchased Murder and all that Jazz. Since it was the cheapest I figured if we liked it that there would be a possibility of getting another in the future. But when I went to host a party it told me I haven’t purchased a theme. I went to my in-app purchased to see i it didn’t go through and it did. I hope I will receive it soon so I can update this review. Good idea and concept but unfortunate turnout.

This is NOT a free app

Technically, I suppose you can say it’s “free” but you cannot play without purchasing a theme. I hear they previously offered one free theme, but now no longer do that - hence making this app worthless unless your ready to drop some cash. I love Murder Mystery parties, but am unwilling to pay until I know what I am buying. Heck, even some of the most reputable MM companies offer a free game so you get an idea of the gameplay and quality of story. You should either make this a paid app with one free theme, or make it abundantly clear that this front-end is no good without buying themes. Really disappointed.

Great concept, app needs improvement

We had a lot of fun playing the game, and exploring the characters and plot twists. The game felt a little short and the app itself needs some improvement. The rounds would not open at the same time, so not everyone had the information they needed. It would also be more helpful if the app had a notification each time a round opened or the host received an update.

Crashed before letting us see conclusion

Unfortunately, this app has bugs. We had a good party on New Year’s Eve with 12 people. The game progressed until we were to review the results and read the conclusion...but then it crashed. None of us could get in to see the results and basically ruined the party. :( Also, we felt there wasn’t enough scripted lines to make the event more interesting. While ad lib is cool too based on the clues and objectives, it was missing done story in doing so. Other apps are better in that respect.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

Wow! My friends and I are quarantined and we found this app to play with Zoom and FaceTime! I’m not sure why Apple has not featured this app, it will definitely keep everyone indoors during the COVID-19 outbreak. Stay safe everyone! Oh and say hello to Kermit for us! Good concept but bad turnout

I’m pretty sure my friend paid for a game, and the murderer wasn’t even one of the characters we had! The game only lasted for 30 minutes, maybe we didn’t play it right, but from what I can tell, this game was bad.

Disappointed

Very disappointed with the app only being Apple friendly and it won’t even work on my iPad! And then I have to pay extra to print the pdf of the character after already paying for the characters!

Great Themes

We've played all but one theme! Murder and all that Jazz was my favorite! These themes are not pricey compared to $100 you spent looking for one online.

I really was excited to play this game; I loved the idea for this game, but I can’t buy ANYTHING!! I think it would make the game way better if you had a theme that was free. So I really hope u write a response.

Enjoyable

Though it was enjoyable, the app needs to have more prompts for switching of rounds and for the person who dies. There were no indications of when to switch rounds and of who dies.

Don’t waste your time

I love this! But...

This app is amazing...! A smart way into occupying your attention. You can find your friends and solve different kinds of mysteries together! I wish more people could get this.. ^^; However, this app would be more enjoyable if it could also be compatible with Non-Apple products. I'm requesting my friends to get an account, but they don't own any of the devices that are compatible with this one.

An amazing night!

My friends and I had a blast following directions of what our characters motives were from the app! Surf, Sand, Sun, Murder was really fun! I recommend you play it this summer! I would love to see a story for a high school reunion! That would be so much fun! Can we also get an app for non-Apple products? Thanks! Can't wait for more characters and mysteries! Keep up the good work!

Great App

This is a great idea for an application. It is super fun and easy to use. I just found it on the App Store and am planning a great Halloween party with it. I would definitely recommend it :)

App RUINED a well planned party

After all attending the party arrived a user who was logged out, not by the user, tried to log on and the password didn't work, no password reset either, however the user password was correct. Support reset the password and would not work, support deleted the account and after adding the account and recreating the party it still would not allow the host to start the party. The event could not continue. This app has to many flaws to take a chance to plan a party and have something go wrong. Complete waste of time.

Read the information about your character to understand their motivation and why they might be the murderer. Get your costume together, some suggestions included in the app. Finally, show up at the location everyone agreed to. The host will unlock "Introduction" to get the party started. Host As the murder mystery host, it's your job to introduce the theme to the guests, kick off the investigation and eventually announce who committed the crime. Don't worry. We have all of your important lines written out on the app. You just focus on making sure you and your guests have a good time! Whodunnit mysteries are designed for the host to participate in the party, so even though you'll be coordinating the whole thing, you still get to take a stab at solving the murder! Guest As a guest in a Whodunnit murder mystery, your job is to get into character, follow your objectives, and have a good time!
