I am a huge fan of this game. The app is OK. There seems to be only a single puzzle that you have access to at any given time. New puzzles are uploaded Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. There is no content library. I will speak for myself, but I would pay $$ for no ads and a full content library that was updated with new puzzles daily. I realize these puzzles are still built by hand, but still - I think there is a market for it. I’ve been playing this game for years and have turned my nieces and nephews on to it now, too!
My husband and I both love this game. His neurologist suggested he play games that make him think and this was perfect for that. However, the app isn’t working and the app keeps saying that there are technical difficulties and they are working on them. It has been several weeks and I am wondering if the developer has decided not to fix it.
I love Wonderword; used to play it daily in the newspaper. I like the app, but it’s recently added advertisements—understandably—and they are huge and overwhelming. It’s much too easy to click on them because they look like they’re a change to the interface instead of an ad. I hope they will fix this; it’s extremely annoying. Then it would be 5 stars.
I enjoy this puzzle games and briefly enjoyed doing them in my local newspaper before cancelling my subscription. There are physical books to help satiated the need to solve the puzzle while offline but one and down. While this app does update on a fairly regular basis, having an archive would be nice to have while waiting for new puzzles to upload. I would give 3.5/5 (too bad there’s no half star options)
I’ve loved WONDERWORD for 20+ years and owned several of their books. They need to add more content to the app! You finish a puzzle (in 5? 10? minutes) and have to wait two days for another? Make in app purchases available! I’d spend $2.99 for another 10 puzzles. Have several additional “packs” for purchase and you could make a fortune!
The app is just like in the paper so I was excited to download it as I loved it in the paper, Highly disappointed. First tried on my galaxy 9+ and it cuts off 3 of the 15 columns. I contacted the company and after asking for a screen shot they told me there are"too many phones". So I tried it on my iPad and the grid is maybe 1x1"...bearly big enough to see the letters but WAY too small to circle any words. Other apps have auto size figured out don't know why they couldn't. Big disappointment!
I’ve been away for a few weeks and the format of the game changed. Letter spacing and markups are way off in alignment. Vertical words don’t work well. Diagonal words are impossible.
I have enjoyed WONDERWORD for many years and was glad to see the app. If I had the option of more than just Monday, Wednesday, Friday, I would play out to much! Works fine on my iPhone. Won’t work on my iPad though? Would like the larger screen.

I love Wonder Word! My mom has the actual booklet series at home. I wanted an app version to play on the go but the app will not launch. I downloaded it but when I go to open up the app the circle just keeps spinning like it’s loading. I deleted it and downloaded it again but it did the same thing. I tried this several times. 🤷🏽♀️
I liked using the app on my iPad because of the larger screen and I could use my Apple Pencil not having to get so many fingerprints on the screen. Playing the web version is not the best. Have to use my fingers and adjust the screen to see the word list when playing in landscape mode.
I really like WONDERWORD; however, the last couple of weeks the puzzle of the day was used 3 days in a row and can’t be cleared for other puzzles. Are there not any more puzzles?
I only wish they would give me a game a day. It’s free but I would buy this game if they provided more puzzles. Still I look forward to the 3 a week I get.
I like WONDERWORD a lot used to play it every day in the newspaper. I have the app on my iPad for a few months. My problem is that it will not open. I just see the little thinking circle. Any thoughts?
I’ve been waiting for months for this app to work again on my iPad, but even after deleting, reloading the app, all I get is the sign up for the app and a blank page. So disappointing, first the local paper dropped this puzzle, and now the app hasn’t worked for months.
I downloaded the app but I have never been able to open the app on my iPhone or my iPad. I’m not sure what the problem is. I love playing WONDERWORD from the newspaper but we are going to have to stop getting the e-edition due to the increased cost. I was so excited to see there was an app. I hope you will be able to assist me. Thank you, Pat
This app is so frustrating. The app let me play many games and then all of a sudden it locked the levels and I can’t go any further!! What’s the use in downloading this app if I can’t play any more levels???
I have loved this game until recently. First it just quit working and then when it came back-new & improved-the word list is missing. This is only happening on my iPad Pro and not my iPhone. The list shows up there just fine. PLEASE HELP. I want to love this game again.
New game three times a week. Can replay. Automatic scratch out. Click on a remaining word and the first letter of that word shows all your the locations on all the game screen.
Doesn’t format correctly. Only shows two lines of words at bottom on iPad. This company has a track record of putting out puzzles that don’t work properly. If you open and close it might format correctly.
If you can’t actually play it then the app is useless. I love the game, but the app doesn’t work. Like with other commenters, I too would pay $$ for an app that works and has a library of games to play
Gee. If new puzzles come out a few times a week, why can’t we bank those and play when we want to or have time to. I love WONDERWORD and want more more more.
New iPad and icon transferred but opens to a blank screen that directs me to the App Store. I tried deleting and reinstalling without success. Bummer as I enjoy the MWF puzzles.
I have downloaded this app and all I have is a banner giving me the Apple Store or android store. Also I have waited to write a review hoping this would get fixed. Then wondered if maybe you are not aware that it’s still a problem. Before you had problems with the app I played this game all the time and loved it. I’m hoping this get fixed soon.

As of 12/1/23, there’s only a black screen. Have deleted and reinstalled without success. As of 11/1/23 am getting 404 error messages. Have deleted and reinstalled without success. Still hoping this gam3 will come back to life. Don’t know why, but the puzzle showed up. As of 3/23/22, can’t get it to work. Have deleted and reloaded several times; app either quits or presents an empty blue screen. iPad is updated, nothing has changed since Monday when I did the puzzle. Disappointed. As of 3/23, it hasn’t worked for over a month. I have deleted it and replaced it numerous times. My iPad is up to date. I have cleared the cache on the app according to Apple instructions. No luck. Just a plain blue screen. Don’t know if programmers are on extended vacation or what, but I miss playing this game.
