Channel 8 News

I especially like Channel 8 News because their News Men and Women are so friendly and caring about their individual positions there. And I also like the fact that we can hear about Illinois News and not just about Iowa as Channel 6 does because they’re in Iowa.

Ads, spam, repetitiveness

This isn’t a review of News Channel 8. This is a review of the news channel 8 app. I have had the app since it’s debut on the App Store. App usability is difficult due to the overwhelming amount of ads you have to watch before EVERY single click. You also cannot leave the screen to respond to a text message without returning to yet another ad video. The sheer volume of advertisements you need to swim through as a user comes across as abrasive and tacky. Also, generally it is the same ad. Over and over again at a 30 second clip. Tacky is a really good word for it.

Wish you were in Macomb!

Wish we could get channel 8 in Macomb. Called to get it back but didn’t happen. The 2quincy channels are not good when it comes to weather and news. Have to watch 8 on the app. Much appreciated to be able to connect. The fcc and Comcast evidently don’t agree to televise in Macomb.

Moving To Moline Soon.

The pandemic delayed our move to Moline 1.5 years. My wife who is an office manager for a big dental college in Dallas is now ready to retire. She has been there since 1972. I’m a freelance photographer and non-profit fundraiser. Hope to put our Dallas home up for sale in a month. Once sold go north young man go north😊

Channel 8 news and weather

I really enjoy channel 8 news and weather. When something is serious, they are serious. When it can be light they are. They look like they really enjoy their jobs and work together very good. I enjoy watching.

After moving here 16 years ago, channel 8 has always been my go to channel for the best news and weather! The personalities of all of your team are uplifting and work well together ! Thanks for brightening my day everyday!

Your coverage of all the small businesses is great! I also just “love” how your morning weather is covered. It’s fun learning about weather issues & the forecast!! Great job!!

Horrible

Would of given it no Stars if allowed. The old app was bad but was easy to navigate to find different articles. This new app is just horrible. Same news story’s day after day. Need a degree to find other news going on. The weather portion is no better I don’t rely on it I use other weather apps that are much better. I wouldn’t waste your time with this app it’s just as bad as there broadcasting.

I have most always been a Channel 8 watcher your news and commentators are very professional and accurate. I am an early riser and enjoy the early morning trio .

Annoying app

Whenever a news Related or weather alert comes on this app I end up with a game that I can’t end before the channel 8 actually comes through. Very annoying. I now count on another weather app due to this annoying factor. The old WQAD app did not have that

New App is Terrible

Switched to channel 6 app after the “new” channel 8 app came out. Old version of news 8 app made it much easier to read news stories. Have watched channel eight my entire life but now can’t use there new app. Downloaded channel 6 app, and layout is similar to Channel 8’s old app. Very disappointed wqad

Great If You Like Ads

Ads are distracting. Miss the old app. Alerts don’t tell you what is being detected anymore. You have to look at the phone to see. Seriously.... you call this an improvement? Off to find something better and that shouldn’t take long...

New app?

Thank you for making me switch to a different station. New app layout is terrible. Then your dang ads! Enough already. They keep popping up and changing the page. This new version deserves a zero star. Wasting our time.
