Great program, a few bugs
Beautiful interface, wide range of customizations. A bit quirky: I have never been able to get the badge to appear on my iPhone, iPad or Mac icon. (yes- I know the correct seettings to enable this) More importantly, when I try to move emails into custom folders, sometimes they stay in ,or return to the inbox repeatedly. I have asked for a fix several times. Still worth using. Thanks.

The 'Rules' made in 'Settings' are slow and can't be exported to your mobile device
I am not sure if I interact with email in a weird way, but I think there should be an easy way to divert your email into different categories like receipts, updates, personal, projects, etc. I have tried to set this kind of paradigm up using the 'Rules' in 'Settings', but Airmail doesn't really handle it very well. It takes a long time to sort through my email, it doesn't sort email that I think should have been sorted, and you can't export your 'Rules' to your mobile device. In general, Airmail doesn't sync sent messages across devices, the windows and emails don't resize properly, I can't figure out how to stop some email from going into my Spam folder and the application feels a little clunky to use. I am not sure if there is a reason for me to continue paying for the Airmail Pro app instead of going back to Apple Mail....

Great app, but search box utility is limited and signatures need to cover all platforms
I tried Airmail several years ago but went with a different product. I abandoned the other product over a pricing issue, and I went to Apple Mail on my Mac Mini, my iPhone, and my iPad. Now I have switched to Airmail obn all three devices. I'm very happy with Airmail. Its features make it worth the price. I am semi-retured but still working. Airmail fulfills my needs for two Gmail accounts and an iCloud mail account. Two complaints, however: 1. The search box used to search for emails does not allow use of phrases, just single words. While the search box has lots of capabilities, this reliance on just single-word search terms limits the specific search I can invoke. 2. I'm very happy that signatures can use HTML coding. But I'd like the option to set signatures for each of my three accounts across all my devices, i.e., the Mac Mini, the iPad, and the iPhone. Also, the onboarding process was confusing. For a while,. after I paid for an upgrade to my subscription, I still received notices regularly asking me to purchase the upgrade I had already chosen and paid for, This was annoying and required an email interaction with AirMail support.

I wanted to like this but
There is a VERY short trial period for this app. I was unable to get it to connect to my email account. It kept going in a loop with an error, not letting me fix the issue, not letting me do anything except running the loop. I tried to get help on the website and that too put me in a loop where the bot asked what I needed help with, and anything I wrote got the answer: "You can rate the app here," which was not any kind of help. They don't give refunds, and they were going to charge my credit card if I didn't get out of the loop. I tried to unsubscribe, but because it was still in the free trial, I couldn't unsubscribe. I finally found an email address on the website and send a request for help, where I finally got a response. Had they offered any sort of useful help at the time, I'd have likely kept it, but a three day trial isn't long enough, especially if you're not going to offer useful, timely help.

Not without small issues but... the best
I've been an Airmail user for many, many years and overall very happy. It's not perfect - takes a lot of memory, sometimes can get a bit buggy, settings don't seem to sync properly. And there can be occasional rendering issues with some email providers but particularly on iOS there is a button to view the original. All of that said, show me something better. There isn't anything. Love the layout with icons, the rules work very very well and are easy to setup, tons of services supported and quite a bit of customizations offered.

RAM Hog and Missing One Key Element
I've now been using Airmail for the past 8 or so years since it was first released and I love the layout - which is why I use it - but it's becoming more and more of a RAM hog to the point where i have to quit and restart it to clear the RAM it's using. The key element missing is also vacation/away notifications which don't exist and not sure it even exists in the Pro version as I can't seem to get in touch with support despite emailing them. There's also the incessant nag screen that pops up every time you restart and then again always at the worst times when you're in the middle of something with no way to turn it off except to pay even more for the Pro version!

Integration, Syncing, Help...
I am so utterly frustrated with this app right now. I subscribed to the app and it works fine on my desktop. I have a laptop associated with the same account and since I purchased the app, it should just sync to my laptop when I open it and enter the info. The app would not allow me to open it without subscribing again, which I shouldn't have to do. Then, when I tried to use the live chat support, it always disconnects after I answer the initial question of how I can be helped and it doesn't go any further than that in the process. I'm trying to cancel the unnecessary second subscription and sync the app I already paid for and I can't seem to get any help anywhere. Can anyone friggin' help me?! Ugh!!!

Airmail does not actually send plain text
When instructed to send messages as plain text, Airmail does not do so. Instead, the app silently encodes some characters. For example, # in column 1 appears in the transmitted message as =23. This causes certain information sent by email to the Majordomo mailing list handler to fail. I have verified this by receiving a rejection from Majordomo in response to an Airmail message. I looked at the raw content of the message and saw the encoded body content. I then sent the exaxt same message from Microsoft Outlook, and the result was success. This erroneous behavior is inexcusable and unacceptable. Plain text is plain text for a reason. Do it right or don't do it at all, but don't lie about what you are doing.

Love Airmail
I've been using it since inception. It's not perfect, no email program is. I love the interface, and all the options to customize. Customer service is very good. I haven't had to use it much now, but in the past I was frequently asking questions and getting prompt and detailed replys. Remember, they're in England so us West Coasters have to factor in an 8 hour time difference. Special shout out to Steven, he's been there since the begnining!

Love Airmail but Cannot Get any Support
I love Airmail and all it's features but about a month ago I started getting an error on two of my accounts and cannot send emails. I started a conversation with Airmail Support about this and then they ghosted me halfway through the troubleshooting process. I have sent numerous emails begging for assistance and no one will respond. I can send emails with these accounts using other email clients. If Airmail refuses to help me figure this out, I may just have to jump ship to another email client. I don't know what else to do!

What support?
My Airmail app virtually disapeared from my computer overnight. I did nothing different, put my computer to sleep and in the morning went to check email and the airmail app was gone from my dock and when opening from the applications folder, required 100% new set up of all my email clients. contacted support chat and after saying hello, the only return message I got from the chat was a link to post a reviuew of my support experience.. I could see that my requests for help were being read, but over a half hour recieved absolutely zero response. So off I go to reset all of my email clients... good times...

Fixed problem quickly
I was having trouble setting up my credentials for my Comcast email account and left a comment for the developers, who got back to me within a reasonable amount of time and as it turns out had already fixed the problem. That's a good thing, because I really like the app, both on the desktop and my iPhone. Thanks!

App is great, the UPGRADE POPUP is bad
Lower rating due to thea modal/pop-up that appears after some amount of time asking me to upgrade to a subscription. Over and over. I get it. Business models change. As a customer of many years, who paid full-price for a product (at that time) this modal is annoying and feels disrespectful that I can't silence it permamently. The app is great otherwise, other then a few bugs over the years, I want to stick with the app... if the company

Worked fine until recently
I was loving Airmail and suddenly it refused to send from several of my email addresses that are hosted through Network Solutions. Not all, mind you. Just some. For some reason it gets confused. I've checked and double checked the settings and, according to Network Solutions, they're perfect and should work. At this point I'm forced to use Network Solutions email port which ticks me off. I shouldn't have to go to two places to send emails.

Serving me well for 15 years and counting!
I leave everything in my inbox but use tags there. This is GMail. 15 years ago, Airmail was the only desktop app that had a remotely viable implementation of GMail tagging. I look into newer apps at times, and I get the sense that this still is the case. Besides, Airmail never served me wrong over the years. Heartfelt thank you to the Airmail team!

Best Email Client
I've tried them all. Hands down the best email client. Works terrific, especially if you have several email addresses with different signatures. Easy to setup. Tons of features if you like to customize. Can't say enough. Works with Google Workspace, works with iCloud, works with GoDaddy free email, you name it, it works. Will never use Apple Mail again!

Airmail is the best Mac mail client by far
I looked at all the other mail client options and found Airmail to be the only full featured client to meet me needs. I’m constantly surprised at how much AirMail can do. I am frustrated when I can't get help but I was very haoppy with the response from Steven as I wasn't sure my mail was lost. Happy to have everything resolved and working.

Love AirMail, but ...
... the feature AirMail is missing is when AirMail is configured to use multiple accounts (which I do). The composition tool needs to be sensitive to which mailbox is currently active, and when composing an e-mail, AirMail needs to default to the From: e-mail address for THAT account. It currently does not do this, and I've ended up sending more e-mails from the wrong account that I can't count.

It's good, see for yourself
I've been using Airmail now for three years and it's hands down the best email app I've used on the Mac. Its color coding makes it easy to distinguish accounts and individual emails. The integration with other apps such Fantastical is great. I'm not sure why the reviews are so low in aggregate. Check it out for yourself. I think it's great.

It does a lot!!
I love this app. The only problem I have is that because it offers so many customizations and settings to use to customize your work flow, it can sometimes take longer to find just what you need. Having said that, it is so much better than Apple Mail right out of the box.

Great mail client, but...
i've been using this app since day one of it's release and find it to be the best overall choice for mail client if you don't use google mail. but i would love to see a feature for spam. why can't airmail remeber what emails are considered junk/spam and automaticly add them to junk/spm folder? i'm manually flaging them as marked, but they just keep coming back to my inbox.

Works most of the time
It often will drop off of wifi, so I always have to check the home screen before sending an email, to be sure that it is connected (I imagine it sends Outbox emails when it connects, but why has it dropped out?). Other than that unreliability, not a bad email client.

Great Opportunity
I've bounce around a lot of email programs trying to find one I liked; Newton, Office, now Airmail. And I'm loving Airmail. Steve was great and responsive helping close the gaps in the perfect email program. It's a little overwhelming, but highly customizable and about 2 weeks into it, far more functional than outlook. Emails do not get delivered
I have used this app for 5 years My biggest problem is many of my emails send but do not get delivered. Also if you have the app on multiple devices your settings will change for your email accounts without your knowledge when you update the app. I probably should change app but I feel they are all pretty crappy on some level

Good
I've bought the previous paid version. It's really bizarre that it wants me to pay more everytime i open it. It has a few bugs, like not syncing perfect with email apps from phone when u erase some email from your phone. Sometimes when undo a deleted email, it doesnt appear if you dont leave the inbox page and come back or restart it. But it's a good app.

Works with issues
The search in emails (especially when searching across different accounts) is buggy and annoying. Overall I like it, but it does crash a lot. Another common issue is I reply to an email and it sends the reply to me.

airmail needs improvement
i got the app becuase of its intelligent search function, which was the best i could find- but it is VEry slow to update the new mail, it takes forever to sync up when i open the sleeping computer-- always faster to just open gmail website which is unfortunate- considering cancelling subscription because of this.

No Support or Communication
As much as I like Airmail along with it's functionality, getting answers to questions or help from the developers is very poor!! I've had a couple of issues to which I've reached out in the app for support and never receive a response.

Almost perfect
I love this app and rely on it without question. It is invalubale to me & my husband. The only thing I would like is to be able to color an entire date cell. For some things in life you just need an in-your-face visual que. Good job Fantastical!

I'd give it 4.5 if I could
Overall, Airmail is great. I wish I could do a few things... they're pretty basic and mostly would help my personal workflow. 1. Buy the app instead of paying $2.99/month 2. For some reason, attachments do not always show up when searching 3. I wish I could set up rules to color the whole message in the sidebar instead of just little corners 4. When I get an alert and I'm in another app, I'd like to be able to hit trash and not be transported to Airmail, and just stay where I was Again, overall... wonderful.

Reply problem on airmail for iPad
I’m using airmail on my iPad. I send an email to multiple addresses; when the individuals respond and I want to reply to that person’s response, I am not able to get the app to open up a reply box. I tried to chat with airmail support, but all they did was send me a link to leave a review here. They didn’t offer any solutions.

Content not loading ! getting worese !
I have been a user of this app for over 6 years, but it has been steadily declining in quality. Recently, emails fail to load properly, and when I try to open them, there is a significant delay. Additionally, the customer support is extremely poor. Attempts to reach out via email or live chat go unanswered. The lack of communication and support is highly frustrating and disappointing.

I've been using Airmail PRO for about 5 years now and I don't/can't use anything else. I love the ease of setup and once things are setup, you don't have to worry about it anymore. I've had 0 problems and issues!

Used to be great, now very buggy
Airmail used to be fantastic. I still use it every day, but it's full of so many bugs, from account syncing, to erasing signatures, to my iPad which now hasn't been able to get my work email for over a year despite deleting and adding the account multiple times, resetting server caches, etc (and there is no error given, it fails silently)

Airmail keeps failing after changing password for email account
Had to change my password due to a breech for a comcast (Xfinity) email address. Changed successfully on Airmail for mac, but iOS clients keep failing when trying to save credentials. Airmail provides no failure diagnostics on iOS, so can't tell if the the IMAP or SMTP credentials that are failing. Credentials are correct. Apple Mail app on iOS works fine with updated password. I am a Pro user. Need more responsive support.

Open Source software is always cantankaris, and then I see it's owned by an Italian company. Who knows. So many promises in sharing with other applications, so little power to make it happen. I think now I just break out in tears and push "submit"

Quality has gone downhill
Used to be the best email app available. Still kind of is, but that says a lot about the email client lanscape, I suppose. So many stupid bugs that never get fixed: Folders randomly changing colors, random UI issues like the icons in the toolbar becoming blurred after computer wakes from sleep, folder trees randomly expanding and collapsing. No real innovation or new features in the last 2-3 years. The only good thing I can really say at this point is that they haven't tried to force half baked AI features on us yet... but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

Just Anoying
I paid for the app some time ago. After one of the routine upgrades they started strong arming you to pay for the "Pro" version. No notice that I would have to pay annually or have to constantly deal with pop-up ads to switch to "Pro". Normally I would'nt have a problem paying for the service, but because of their tactics I will continue to refuse to upgrade. Just really bad marketing.

Great for composing/scheduling, but...
I've used AirMail for a couple years now. It's great for composing and organizing email. It really lacks on search and takes a while to load new messages after it's been closed. The search feature is weak compared to using outlook on a browser.

Very Powerful but
This is a very powerful email client. However, not all functions work smoothly..Eg: Send later, never sends. A few otheer functions as well are buggy...if they were fixed, this would be a solid 5 star...also, it doesn't work as fast as other clients I've found.

Very Feature Rich
This is so far the best agnostic email client I have used. The interface is highly customizable and it seems to be robust. Rules are my sore thumb, when you rely on a rule set, it does not sync to your handheld device so you have to leave the mac running at home to actively appy rules throughout the day. The good: Robust Very nice UI intuitive Play's well with many other applications. The not so good: The live help system is buggy in Safari mobile Rules sync to iCloud do not update IOS client

Pay or else
They only want you to use this if you are subscribed. You are not paying for more features; you are paying to be able to use the app without tons of pop-ups. This issue has been getting steadily worse. I like supporting developers, but I don't think I can justify the subscription.

HELP IS HARD TO GET WHEN YOU HAVE ISSUES
I have an account i accidently created somehow that doesn't even have an email address. Everytime I log in it asks me to create a password. I've tried deleting this email (that doesn't even have an address) and sent messages to support for help. Nothing....

Sent mail goes to trash
I have tried to contact support and gotten only a referral to write a review When I send a message via email, the outgoing email will appear in the sent file, then the next day it will not be there only to be found in the trash. I haven’t trashed it. Please help,this is quite annoying

Still buggy after all these years.
Want to love it but don't. It still creates phantom email accounts every time you shut it down and then asks you for a password over and over again. It also won't preview images of files in emails, just spins and spins. On my iPhone it freezes the app all the time. Designed to be pretty, not a tool.

No support to find
I have tried multible times to contact Airmail via their "live chat", both on my laptop and iphone. However no one ever replies to the chat. Waiting for 30-40 minutes. I am sorry but I am not about to pay for a product, that I can't ask questions about.

Crashes on mac
This has not consistently worked since I got a new computer, and it's incredibly frustrating. It used to be my go-to for having all my email in one place, my favorite function is the "select all from the same sender" but now it won't stay open for more than 2 minutes, usually less.
