Great product
For years I have paid for the fastest internet speeds from my provider. During these years my equipment never allowed me to maximize the experience I was paying for. I was paying a lot and just scratching the surface of performance. I tried switching internet service providers, upgrading modems, Wi-Fi extenders, moving the modem and trying LAN connections nothing worked well throughout the entire house. Finally I bought the Asus Zen Wi-Fi mesh system with three nodes. I am getting the best speeds I have ever seen and the experience remains the same throughout the entire house and all the way to the back fence of the property. Before it was painful trying to stream movies or music by our pool, now it works perfectly with no lag, no buffering, no connectivity issues. We are very happy to have made the switch to the mesh Asus Zen Wi-Fi system. It set up quick and easy. It was up working reliably in no time at all. Well worth the cost which is still significantly cheaper than the Orbi; the other mesh Wi-Fi system I was considering. Absolutely no regrets. It’s simple to install, reliable, fast and powerful.

Awesome app; parental controls request...
First off - This app works great! I am able to monitor my network from anywhere: home, work, the gym, etc. it also gives visibility to the new AiMesh features and shows which devices are connected to the mesh nodes and which are connected to the main router. The parental controls “family” feature allows me to group a kid’s devices and enable/disable network access with one action. I can also setup schedules for each device or group of devices. Now for the feature request: In the Family feature, I would like to have the ability to override the schedule and enable/disable internet for a kid without erasing the existing schedules for those devices. It would work kind of like my thermostat- when I come home early I can turn up the heat manually but then the schedule still is in operation and will set the temp back at night. Also, it would be nice to be able to enable internet for a kid for a set time period. I.e. A two hour block. Anyway, this is a great app and leads the industry. Keep up the great work!

New design is poor/buggy
Since the design update for this app, which I think was intended to make aiMesh more prevalent, I have reduced my rating from for stars to one star. The changes make it difficult to locate familiar features since many of them are just icons with no text. It took me at least 15 minutes to find the features I used the most in the old app like reboot which is now well hidden. In addition I cannot see the RAM/CPU utilization in one nice display on the main screen, you are now forced to go through a series of menus to get to a CPU or RAM use displays but no combined display like the app offered previously. Moving between the CPU/RAM/Home screens is now very cumbersome,. In the old design I could reboot and then quickly and easily monitor my devices, CPU, and RAM utilization? The new app makes this difficult and it seems like there is a bug in the connected devices count because I have to switch between screens to get an updated count. Considering these issues that most affected my app use plus several others that I haven't mentioned my opinion is this new UI is far worse than the old one. If they could just fix the connected devices but and put a way to see the old style combined CPU/RAM display back on the main screen it would raise my star rating to near four stars.

Works Perfectly
Not sure why there are so many bad reviews for this app. I’m set up a pair of RT-68U routers in an AiMesh configuration, downloaded the app, and it immediately discovered both routers (and no, I didn’t have to use the default Asus SSIDs as people are reporting). It’s great for seeing which devices are connected to each router and the signal strength they are getting. Made placement of my AiMesh node much easier. Also has a lot of functionality vs. other router apps I’ve used. Lastly, anyone that trashed the app because it doesn’t work with their T-Mobile branded router is being wildly unfair. Yes, T-Mo re-badges Asus routers, but they use their own custom firmware. They CAN be flashed to Asus routers, but it’s a difficult and still-evolving process. Don’t give a Sony remote control a bad review because it won’t change channels on your Panasonic TV.

Great app just missing 1 key component
I’ve been using the app for a while now and it does everything I’ve needed or wanted it to do with the exception of one thing. Like others have stated, in the parent control part it would be awesome to be able to override the time limits. I have all my kids things set for a certain time on school nights and a later time on the weekends. The problem occurs when they have a day off school and want to stay up a bit later. It would be nice to just be able to override the time restrictions versus have to modify them. It would also be great to be able to put them in a single group to be able to modify all at once. Between all the kids they have 10 devices on there so it takes a bit to go through each one. You can do this when setting them up but when modifying you have to do 1 at a time. Other than this issue it’s a great app for controlling your home Wi-Fi network!

Great route, lousy app
To start with in set up you have to select the correct device type before the app can find it. If you have an ASUS ZenWiFi AX and incorrectly select AX Hybrid or Mini it will not show up. Since the app can obviously work with any of their products why not just search for any of them? Not a huge deal but it added a few minutes of frustration when I initially got it wrong. Then, if you’re setting up multiple devices you have to either turn them on one at a time or guess as to which is which. Again, more of an annoyance than a deal breaker. Next, it apparently can’t tell the difference between an iPad and an iPhone so it is nearly impossible to figure out how to name them. If you disable one temporarily to identify which is which you can’t re-enable it from the same place. You have to navigate to a different menu to do that. Why? In trying to set up and name my devices one of them got entered twice and there’s no way to remove the duplicate entry. I have three different passwords - one for the network, one for an ASUS account in the app, and a third for an ASUS account when I tried to register the routers. Again, why? BTW, I have so far been unsuccessful in registering my routers since after entering the SN I get a pop up that says successful but the underlying page says “Server busy, try again later”. That’s just the first hour’s worth of frustrations.

Poor UX
When I first tried the app I got alerts to accept notifications and for the app to use the device location. These are not needed to use the app. However, it apparently searches for the router after returning from the settings screen, so be sure to go to settings even if you don’t allow the unnecessary location. It’s a mystery to me why it would need to know location. Anyway the first time trying to connect I entered admin user and password. I got a message logging on was not working and that I should manually restart the router. This issue was confirmed by trying to connect using the web. After restarting the router, I was unable to connect again until I uninstalled the app and installed it again. It looks like if it fails to connect it gets into a state from which it can’t recover. After reinstalling the app, I went to settings again and this time it connected after prompting me to enter my credentials again. Bottom line: if you are having issues with the app I suggest deleting it and reinstalling it again.

Useful, but with rough edges, and I’m not getting a strong feeling of commitment from Asus to fix it
I run this on my iPhone and have an RT-AX55 router. I can access a lot of useful functionality from this app. However, there are a few issues that are problematic. For example, if you try and assign devices to users, you won’t get very far before you see an error: “Notice! Maximum 16 clients”. What does this mean? There is no explanation or workaround. If you assign more than 19 devices to 3 users, the system simply prevents you from doing any more with this error. It’s not clear what “16” is referring to. For anyone with more than a handful of devices or more than just 1 child in their home, this feature is currently useless. Some otherwise clunky UI makes this app nice but not necessary: almost all deep customization you have to do from a browser, anyway. Is this app awful? No. But it’s got some rough edges and it’s not clear that the company is putting much effort into improving it.

Upgraded from 1 star to 4 since they fixed the unblock/block bug
The developer actually listened to my review and fixed this fundamental bug. Kudos and thanks! I have simple needs for this app so « it works » for me. I wish we could block/unblock apps even when they are offline (not connected to the wifi at that particular point). Prior review: The last update broke the block/unblock device functionality. This is extremely important. Without it, it’s impossible to manage family access. I’m lucky enough to have disabled updates on my wife’s phone so she kept the prior version, but that’s obviously not a solution! PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP! I understand bugs happens but there is no reason to not fix this! Please fix it already. Else I will have to buy another router just due to this bug and it certainly won’t be an ASUS! Fix it please!

Very Useful
I setup an AIMESH network and find the app very useful for monitoring it. It’s also been great for managing time restrictions for the teenagers who are always online. I’m very lenient but, during the hours in which they should be sleeping, I have internet access blocked via parameters set within the app. It is also vey helpful to be able to change the QOS settings from within the app. During my work hours I prioritize WFM. After that I change it to whatever is being done the most. Either gaming or media streaming. I’d say the app is nicely done. I especially appreciate that ASUS has decided that their customers should be the ones managing their networks and not them. That’s why I steered clear of Eero, and Google Nest mesh solutions.

Continuously Improving!
My router(s) (an AC66U-B1) isn’t exactly new, but I am very impressed that ASUS continues to improve both the firmware and apps like this in support of it. While you still need to access a router directly for several tasks that this app can’t handle, it offers a whole LAN management - meaning that if you have a mesh or stand alone AP’s you can make modifications and manage things system wide. This is really handy when your network grows beyond a single firewall/AP LAN. I really like the graphics and the ability to customize device names. It really gives you a good handle when diagnosing and tweaking your system which is something other vendors either charge for or omit.

[updated] Can’t connect.
Apparently the app can’t see my ASUS routers (plural) since I’ve set my own SSIDs. It just keeps asking if I want to connect to an ASUS router’s default SSID. No, I AM already connected on my mobile device to MY SSID, which I setup as a security measure when first deploying my routers. Allow this app to work with custom SSIDs and then I’ll be able to use it and possibly give a better review. After leaving above review, checked app again and it had found one of my two ASUS routers. The one it didn’t find has the T-Mobile firmware on it. I believe that is why it’s not showing up. I am planning on upgrading that firmware in the next couple of days and will see if the app recognizes that router. The app appears to have a good assortment of controls for managing the router/s. I have not had time to test much of them, but it seems to be pretty intuitive from first impressions.

Could use more insights
The real-time traffic feature is good if I’m troubleshooting an issue or want to see how much data is being used, but it would be better if there was a historical look back. I’d want to know maybe over the last 30 days how many GBs we’ve used, down to the day and maybe even hour level. Also would like to to automatically perform speed tests in set intervals and times so that I can see how consistent my provider’s service is. There are a fair amount of customizable options, but I think there is a big learning curve to being able to use them. Average users, like myself, would just use the standard settings. Should try to help educate on what settings to use and why.

Grateful Parent - Buy ASUS & Use This App
Having this app adds a lot of value to owning the ASUS wireless router. There are things you can do in this app that aren’t possible otherwise. As a parent, it’s has lots of helpful features for control like device scheduling and usage monitoring. It allows me to help my spouse remotely while I’m out of the home. ASUS periodically offers firmware updates to keep it current, which I can check via the app. Better yet, the features in the app actually work. I’ve been using the app for over 6 months. When our kids value internet so much now, apps like these gives parents a valuable resource to help teach time management and responsibility online & at home.

Super slow, can’t change settings, view network
Where to begin? The app is super slow. After running a security scan multiple times, and after several app updates over the past few months, I still can’t change security settings. I see the yellow “i” next to the settings and try to change it. It does something for like a minute and then fails. The worst part though is that I can connect to the 5ghz network with devices in my home. In fact, my phone is connected to it right now. But the app, running on this phone, doesn’t recognize it. It only displays the 2.4ghz network as if it’s the only one I have. I bought this off a friend’s trusted recommendation. The internet, and WiFi, have been around for way too long to ship this kind of experience. By the way, I have already tried resetting my router once and setting everything back up again…same problem.

A major improvement over using a pc browser.
My previous routers didn’t have any capabilities of connecting directly with my phone, so I had to go out of my way to find instructions on administrating them online. Having to type a complex url link just to change the password is a bit much, considering that routers are easy to set up even without apps. This app has all the settings I need and allows me to just most features on the routers. Even more impressive, the mesh management and multi router administration essentially makes this an all in one command center.

Lacking in Parental Control
I used the routers containing the Circle for many years, but my three gaming kids needed something more gamer-friendly. While there are some parental controls, my kids manage to find workarounds that they weren’t able to with Netgear/Circle. I can shut off the internet for one kid and his devices, but he’s still getting online. Also, I can’t figure out how to shut off the router for the entire house. If I’m at work and need to talk to the kids, they somehow aren’t able to hear their phones until I shut off the internet to the whole house. Easy peasey with Netgear/Circle, not an option with this. As a single mom with a house full of boys, the internet is my only equalizer, and this app leaves much to be desired.

ASUS is the best! IMO!
I love how easy the app was to use and setup in conjunction with my router. I find it to have many useful features without being overly complicated. Even as a user with very minimal experience, I was able to control my WiFi system with ease, at an above average experience level. Features I never thought possible were at my fingertips and I’m amazed at how easy it was to install useful features such and beam forming, two channel setups & device access levels. The parental controls are paramount and I’m not sure how I’d ever use any other option, much less desire to.

Works for me
This app works well for me. While I can get very technical, I’m backing off and just doing a cursory review of basics. This app and router gives me enough control to keep me happy. Other folks can go into the deep dives, but I feel that this is a great way to control and protect my home network. It gives me a great amount of control in a fairly easy to use interface. The thing I value most: they keep on top of updates and security. That alone gives me a good feeling. So many routers don’t do updates as they are needed- this combo does. The firmware updates are easy to do and give me peace of mind. Thanks for a decent system!

Better than you think
So while I am surely not a network admin I think this app provides you with a very easy setup experience and has relatively quick access to even some more advanced feature like changing the network DNS setting right in the app. But the GUI for this route from the web interface is very fully featured. I just wish there was a way to use some of the advertised features like AI protection and QOS without sending all my telemetry data to who know where. That said not a deal breaker still a great product.

Broken App, Creepy Privacy Policy
App has always been disappointingly janky and flaky on connection. EDIT: Most recently up-to-date version I can literally be on the non-guest network on my phone or laptop, no VPN or anything, and it will still give me "Remote Connection unavailable" as an error. It's bad enough that remote connection doesn't work while I'm away, but to have it ruin my local connection? What exactly is the point of this app? AT&T's router management app consistently offered a better experience than this, shocking, I know. Not ones to rest on their laurels, ASUS recently forced users to agree to just hand over all traffic they send over their home networks to ASUS with their creepy new privacy policy, or else features that WERE ALREADY WORKING on your router will stop. I'm never buying ASUS again.

Great idea less than great functionality
I’ve had ASUS routers for quite a while now. The main reason is the promise of the dream of what this app could be. I like that it can give me access to the whole mesh network. Unfortunately I have to cross my fingers every time I try to log in that it will connect. The issue may be the age of my router (3 years) but it wasn’t super reliable when the router was new. I try to stay on top of checking for firmware updates but it’s hit or miss whether or not it will make connection to the servers to check for any. The web interface to the router isn’t much better. I know it doesn’t make a lot of sense but I love their equipment I just wish the interfaces were more reliable.

Nice app, but opens a security flaw
I installed this app, and was totally satisfied with the functionality it offered. Then I did a security scan and noted a large red dot beside Allow Web Access from WAN. What this means is that someone with the name and password can reconfigure the router from the web! This is a security flaw. It turns out that web access must be turned on for the app to work, and once on, things can only be completely reset from the computer direct wired to the router. If you think about it, such a hole has to be opened for the app to work. However, unless you value convenience over security, this makes the app a “ no-go” for me. Just a password is too easy to break. Even a strong one.

Made by a student but functions
This app looks like it was made by a student to save some development costs. It does what it needs to do at least but it looks and works like developers had no proper experience. Password and name input fields behave like generic text fields with grammar fixes, autocompletion and uppercasing. If you're not paying attention you can end up setting a totally different password from what you entered and then trying to figure out why you can't connect. It even tried to change my text when I was entering port numbers for port forwarding, and what it was changing it to was obviously unacceptable value. Its like I have to fight to configure router through this app. So I end up configuring it via web interface and only use this app to looks at stats/settings.

Great Router
I bought this router to replace an already great router but wanted to take full advantage of my 1G service. This router is really fast. I love the dedicated Backhaul and it was very easy to set up. Took me less than 10 minutes. I also like that I do not have to pay a subscription fee for features like parental control which are standard for other manufacturers. I have not had any issues with this mesh system. This product is a highly recommend no matter what level of experience you have setting up a home network.

Since update it doesn’t work
I have had this router and app for over 3 years. The app worked great up until the last couple of update. I was able to name the Devices on my network so I would know and determine which ones to turn off. Now whenever I name a device whenever you refresh it it goes back to a default name. There are items on my network that show off on the off-line setting and you cannot control them. I’ve deleted and reinstall the app numerous times without any luck. I have contacted their technical support line which is a joke. Once somebody gets back to you they tell you to fill out feedback on the app. Once you fill out the feedback no one ever gets back with you. The app now is a joke the only thing we use it for is just the router to see if it’s on anymore it’s useless

I’ve done lots of home network installations. Quite frankly there is a trend to make off with your data as a consumers. A perfect example of this is most brands trying to mandate you only control your home network with a bike device. This is unacceptable. Continue to demand intelligent and capable web front ends that are agnostic to devices. If the security implications are not obvious - if a company requires your phone to access information they are have not just acquired both your home network information but your mobile footprint. I got one am not willing to simply hand over my entire premise for operational security to some random Chinese company. No. Asus has done well to provide an excellent product that not only works well - it abides to my stringent requirements kf literally having a great web admin base as well as running a Linux kernel so that I can run extra security settings through offense and otherwise.

App itself needs password protection
Updating review based on developer providing instructions how to set app password The app itself needs to be locked down with password protection (Face ID ideally). Since your WiFi network passwords are in there, and since managing parent controls can be done there too, this app will expose all that without password protection. I sometimes let my kids have access to my device. This is too unsecured, and in a few seconds they could have passwords or change parent control settings.

Asus routers are top notch!!!
This app has been great for me and several family members. Nobody uses it, but me. I do all the checking and updating for three separate households and their routers on this one app. I wish this app would notify me when there’s a new update or just go ahead and download and install it on its own, but it doesn’t. I’ve got a lot of money wrapped up in Asus products including my newest (2 years old) Asus Pro Duo Laptop. I could definitely have and use more Asus products if Asus would send me some. Lol, but seriously though…

I have had this app for quite awhile. When it works, it works well. The app, however, has constant issues with it functioning properly. Right now all my devices are connecting without issue to the router. The app itself will not connect. Come on developers, get your act together. Your giving ASUS a bad name, with this app. Update: The app has been working fine for many months, but now “Here we go again”. Since updating the app it no longer connects to the router. Really getting frustrated….

Poor connection
When I first bought the Asus router it was lightning fast! After a couple months of having it I’ve had nothing but trouble connecting devices or streaming tv’s. Not sure why or what happened but in order to connect 8 devices I have to disconnect other devices just to get internet or stream. When We first purchased it we had 20+ devices hooked up no problems, now we can’t have more than 8. I’ll probably sell and get something else. Super disappointed!!

Useless
Update, I tried turning off by VPN and go figure, I was able to access the app and all features. Really Asus, you didn't anticipate that people use VPNs? I'll raise my score when this issue is addressed and in sure the app is working correctly. As with others, each updated during 2020 has made my home mesh network work worse and worse. Furthermore, I am also receiving the ios14 error regarding permission. Although it shows that the app has permission, the app keeps requesting it. I uninstalled the app and after the reinstall, I can't even get past the setup screen to manage an existing network...the permission error blocks me from using the app and renders it useless. This is junk and pathetic.

Odd Changes
I noticed a few times one of the device names changed on its own. I named my Apple TV on the ASUS App as "Apple TV Movie Room" and today it changed to "APPLETVOVIEROOM" without me editing it. Do this mean the Apple TV has been hacked? Also, how come even though I temporarily block devices, some were still able to connect to the wifi / internet. I know this because I enabled a wifi connection and the supposed blocked device still connected to the wifi and functioned like normal. Please update the firmware as soon as possible. It has been a year since I started using an ASUS router and I can only recall a firmware update once. Thank you.

XT8 Mesh Terrible
When I first received my 4 XT8s, connectivity stayed stable and green on the app. In other words the dedicated backhaul used 5ghz-2 at 5ghz not 2.4Ghz. In the last year with multiple firmware upgrades this is not the case at all. They always revert to 2.4ghz backhaul regardless of what I do or don’t do. I love the ASUS firmware but this has caused soooo much wasted time and effort in addition to loss of the speed at which I paid for, that alternatives must be considered. This problem is plagueing the user community and ASUS has not solved the problem. ASUS is a brand I have come to trust with motherboards for 20 years but this serious lack of consistency and actual answers that solve problems with this product line is simply unnaceptable.

Complicated but useful
After buying an ASUS WiFi router, I became dependent on this app. Unfortunately, during the set up process I received an error message repeatedly, saying something like, “notice: connection failed.” Then after closing that message it suddenly worked. Other than that error, the app has worked perfectly fine. And my new WiFi router is super fast and reliable. However, I find it hard to find settings in the app, such as activating a guest network. I would also appreciate more guidance for what other features and settings do.

Love the router, hate the app.
I finally found a router that had everything I needed, and most importantly, parental control. But this app leaves a lot to be desired. Schedule block: each day has to be edited individually and only has hourly control. Parental control that doesn’t show user history? It only shows the top 5 often used apps compared to my old router that showed every website visited and time spent on that page. It would be useful to have the device list organized by band and Ethernet connection instead of one giant list. Also, it would be nice to receive a notification the first time a device connects to the internet. Would allow admin to keep track of (and edit labels of) devices that are supposed to be connected, and ones to whom kids gave the password unbeknownst to the parents. All in all, while the router seems to be working fine, the app is frustrating. I’m debating swapping the router back to the tplink archer 5400 that I had before. The TP link app is much more user friendly than this Asus app. Please ASUS, fix the app. I really really want to use this router!

Cant backup your list of routers with saved passwords!
I have over 50 business/homes with Asus routers/mesh networks saved in app with some networks being 5 devices in a single account using this app, you cannot restore from iCloud backup because you lose all of your saved routers and passwords. There is no way to back up your saved routers and passwords to an alternate location or in iCloud data or transfer to another device. The app automatically connects to the last router you were connected to and you have to wait sometimes two minutes before you can select a different router. The app is much slower then using a standard web interface. there is no way to manually put in the IP address of the router you want to set up and most times the app does not find your router.

ASUS App Review
Let me start by saying this is a great app that I use daily. I love the simplicity and overall performance of the app. I have an ASUS AC1900 and I love the fact that I’m able to have a 5Gz, 2.4Gz, and a guest network on either or. I love this because there are a lot of people that come over and always ask for wifi. It’s 2018 so why should I be surprised? My only recommendation would be if you could specify what network the devices are using as it only shows either 5Gz and 2.4Gz instead of saying if they’re on the guest network or not. Thank you.

Everything you need!
For network savvy folks to the do-it-yourself-network admin, this app and ASUS devices have all the security features and network management controls anybody could ever ask for. I’d go as far as to say the XT9 mesh routers coupled with a good modem and a fast internet speed are capable of running a small business network very easily. The QoS controls are very easy to use. Remote management options are easy to set up and free TrendMicro protection and firmware updates for life. Truly awesome products and services.

Great app for monitoring my network
I was a little hesitant to use this app after seeing the reviews and overall score (2.4 as of this writing), but it works great and was easy to setup. I downloaded it, opened it, and it automatically discovered my ASUS router. Logged in, and was able to see about the same amount of info if I was logged into the dashboard via browser. I love being able to see who is monopolizing bandwidth (cough, wife, cough, working from home, cough) and throttling said person stealthily, so our gaming sessions work without packet loss etc. I can also disable WiFi/internet to my kids’ computers, PS4, or iPads with minimal effort. My only issue - and not worth leaving off a star - is that the app stays in portrait mode. My iPad is in a keyboard case in landscape mode, so it’s awkward using the keyboard. Other than naming a few devices on the network, I probably won’t use the keyboard much with this app.

Does what it says
NOTE: Make sure you have the latest firmware. Doing that seems to have saved me from the issues I've seen in older reviews. Also, when I used the app for the first time I sat right next to the router. The app found the router easily, and continued to when I used the app again upstairs. Having said that, I am also confused by all the the low ratings. The description says you can rename devices, monitor traffic and set up your router. I have an older model router, yet the app allowed me to do all that, easily.

Better than expected
I knew I was going to like the router. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the software. I’m use to using the laptop to access router homepages, but there’s nothing that the phone app can’t do. Its well laid out, features like QOS and game prioritization are surprisingly easy to use. I also like when setting up a device you don’t need to know all the port forwarding numbers, ASUS has done that for you. I received open network type on all games. Well done.

Awesome!
I upgraded to ASUS to expand my capacity to add security cameras. We have a fairly large area to cover and have had dead zones for years. I was concerned that the mesh ASUS system with only a base and one node would not be enough. Happily I was incorrect. No dead zones with excellent signal strength throughout our home. Set up? Too easy. The app? Excellent and intuitive. I shopped all of the main competition. The final selling point for me was the built in security - with no annual subscription. This product is a winner.

Terrible node performance
Really wanted to like this set up. When the mesh network is working, I would say it’s top notch. The problem is the wireless backhaul of the remote nodes keep defaulting back to 2.4ghzb even though the radio signal is always 50db to 55db. When this happens I need to reset the network and than it usually performs great for 5 to 10 days and than it reverts back to the same problem. I wish ASUS would fix this because I made the move from Linksys and had high hopes for this mesh network. I am on the verge of getting rid of them to try another brand of mesh. Would love to have ASUS reach out to me and maybe fix this problem. Thanks

Its good when its working
I have an RTAC3100 which I would highly recommend. The app itself is ok. When its working right, its really good. That said, It seems to fail after router or app updates. By that I mean it will ask to set up the connection to the router again. Only the router wont recognize the app when you enter you PW. You have to power off/on the router then try again. Its a hassle if you have guests and want to quickly turn on a guest network for them. Short of that its quite good.

App Won’t Connect To Router
I have had my ASUS router for a few years now and have not had any issues with it until recently. Although my devices are connected to the internet just fine, my app will it connect to my router. I haven’t changed any settings in the past. Just one day, app stopped connecting. Frustrating. I’ve tried to reset the router several times. The app will connect after the reset for about a minute and then disconnects. Thus, the two star rating. I’m not giving it a one star because it has worked in the past. Hopefully there’ll be an update that will help with this issue.

Better then others I have bought
Wireless mesh works very well. Better than the cable modem that I’ve got. Better than the stuff you get from the cable company in my opinion. It’s the only thing that doesn’t crash 100 times a day or 100 times a month I don’t think I’ve had to reset it, but one time when I first bought it. Very satisfied with this product. I would definitely buy it again.

Latest update has problems
Cannot connect, or connects to the router but doesn’t list any connected devices. Hoping for a bug fix soon. Used to work great prior to this latest update, as my previous comments indicated — Previous review — Automates firmware updates & makes keeping an eye on the local network quick & easy. Don’t have to bring up the router page in a browser anymore. App has improved with recent updates. I’ll keep using it.

DO NOT UPDATE FIRMWARE!
The pop up asking me to review my system could come at a more terrible time for the company. After updating firmware my nodes occasionally drop connection. This requires that I turn the power off to the node and once it boots up it reconnects only to work for a week or so. Until this update a few months ago, this system as has been one of my favorite purchases in a long time. It allowed me to have lightning fast and stable internet connection all over my home and to my detached garage 50 feet away where I have my third node. I’m not sure that I can recommend this system for others as I have done in the past. Asus…..the clock is ticking.

Unreliable
I have experienced unreliable service. They work well some times, and some other times they are not very functional, which cause me a lot of disruptions at home with everything. I have to consistently do restarts. One of the devices stopped working. They’re less than a year old devices. I contacted IT support and they couldn’t find a resolution after about an hour and a half of troubleshooting. They had to ask for escalation and follow up later. I didn’t hear from them after all. It’s very frustrating and time consuming to seek resolutions. I wouldn’t invest on this technology or services. I hope there are better options in the marketplace.
