Mixed Success

Have successfully used the app once or twice but a few times have had issues either adding items or checking out. For instance either the checkout screen does not load, or get to the checkout screen and tap “Pay Now” and…it just spins and spins. Tried restarting phone, reinstalling app, deleting items in cart and re-adding —still can’t checkout. Other times you’ll add a beer and it will add a quantity of “0” and cannot be altered only deleted. Could be sold out, could be a bug but lack of feedback in app results in confusion.

Would suggest purchasing in a store

Update: So they made this right and fixed the issue. Hoping ordering issues won’t happen again. My experience hasn’t been good and it’s my first and last order, which I asked them to cancel. Ordered four products and was told after six days that two weren’t even in stock and what was in stock wasn’t even shipped yet. I think it might be best if one just goes into a retail store to purchase product. Unfortunately most of what is in retail stores is very limited to maybe one or two types of N/A beer, which is unfortunate.

Beer is great, app is painful

Why do I need to login every time I use the app? Why does the enable notifications popup need to show up every time I open the app? Love the dry tracker and the beer, the app experience is lacking. Do better. May 1 update. The app is even worse now. As noted by other recent reviewers, the app is not accepting valid credentials, so there’s no way to log in to the app. Come on, man. May 28 update. If I first delete the app and then reinstall, I am able to log in. A day or two later, the app (maddeningly) logs me out, and then when I try to log in, the spinning star thingy just spins and spins and nothing happens. Until I delete the app again and reinstall. Can we set this so that the app just keeps me logged in? Please?

Developer plz read: Very buggy, and address issues.

First, big Athletic fan here, and subscriber for some time. App is great idea but this one is not ready for primetime. The app displayed my account info the first time I logged in but no longer shows it nor does it pull my order info. Also please fix the “state” field in the contact info to allow for the US Virgin Islands (VI) —-standard US postage applies here —it works on the website, and you already send me 6 six-packs a month. Cheers!

Great notifications

While in most apps, I am not usually the biggest fan of their notifications, with this app I really like learning about the different brews that are available, especially when some of them are limited edition. On that note, if you missed out on the Oktoberfest, you missed out!

Never Login in

I was excited about this app mostly for the tracker and to be able to pass order online. I would say 1/10 time I’m able to log into my account to actually do so. It just keeps spinning and never logs in. It would be a great improvement to also add a “remember me” so you don’t need to login everytime you want to add days to your tracker and to add face ID for easier and faster login than typing email/password everytime.

3rd update 3rd strike

So frustrating. Still doesn’t recognize my membership. Wouldn’t allow me to check out with my member benefit of free shipping for under $50. To their credit, the developer did respond to my earlier review and issues. Tried using the website that did not allow me to check out with a app based discount which I couldn’t use in the app either. Sigh. I might have to start drinking again

Can’t login on the app

The app has very limited utility. For some reason, it logs me out automatically. When I try to log back in, my password won’t work. When I use the forgot password link I get routed to the website where I can change my password and login to my account. But when I try to go back to the app, I’m not logged in and the new password won’t work. Most of the apps features have no value if you can’t log in, so you’re better off just using the website.

It’s still pretty buggy

They fixed it a little bit but it still does require me to log in every time I open it. The app itself has some stability issues as well, for example I have noticed that clicking “track my record” on the home page requires you to log in, but after you enter your login credentials it won’t let you log in. You have to go to the Account page after you’re already logged in, and log in from there.

Practically unusable

The app makes me log in again every single time I want to use it, and every time I open it I get a message prompting me to enable notifications. Only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because I appreciate the idea of having a dry tracker (which doesn’t work half the time either) and the ability to place orders through the app. Please fix!

Great for buying nonalcoholic

A decent app to purchase as well as locate where they sell their brews. I really like the tracking feature, but I’ve noticed I sometimes have issues being logged out, and it takes a little time to log back in.

Tracker issues

The tracker always makes me log back in when I want to use it. I use it almost daily, so this is a pain. Still keeping the app for now because I like the beer but considering getting rid of it because logging every time is annoying.

This app makes getting my all time favorite brews super easy and enjoyable. Really cool way to look for new products and create a subscription.

Good idea poor execution

I really love that progress tracking feature that allows me to count my dry days. Trouble is I have to log back in every single time and the last couple times I had to delete the app and re-download it. I think it’s almost time for me to find something else to use. ** update developer reached out to say problem is fixed, but I am still having the issue

Odd

The mobile app seems to have no way to select a slower period than four weeks for the subscription… And your mobile website was designed so poorly as if you want nobody to ever make a purchase from you… Not sure if anybody at your company has tried to use your product, but I think your sales could go up drastically if you fix this mess

Keeps logging me out / Now won’t let me log in

I love the idea of this app, but it keeps getting worse and worse. First, I wasn’t a fan of having to log in every single time I wanted to track my sober streak record. Since cancelling my subscription due to finance issues, now it won’t let me log in. When I try to log in online, I am able to log in.

App doesn’t work reliably

Multiple times I couldn’t load the tracker, support told me to delete & reload the app. Today all my tracking data disappeared and January shows no tracking. Really like the product, but the app isn’t good quality.

Great beer, mediocre app

Love the beer, app is a big disappointment. Beer descriptions won’t load, get errors trying to add items to cart, generally very slow. Hope they can get this right with an update but for now I’ll stick to the website. I’m currently using ios16 on an iPhone 11.

Good brews, app is lacking.

Like that I’m able to browse the brews on the app. However, I’m unable to manage my subscription via the app, which is odd. Definitely one of the main things you’d want to do from a user experience perspective.

Slow & Clunky

5 stars for the beer. 1 star for the app. Hands down the slowest/worst app I’ve ever used. I click “Account Info” and it takes almost a full minute to load, if it loads at all. Shopping can be a bit clunky as well. Not ready for prime time. Hoping they release some fixes soon.

Unable to manage subscription orders

This is a great idea, and looks good, but why release an app to members that doesn’t include the functionality to allow members to access their accounts or update their subscriptions??

Constantly signed out

How am I supposed to easily keep track of my non drinking days when I have to log in every time and sometimes it doesn’t work. Please fix it!!

Rejects valid credentials

For the last few updates, it frequently rejects valid credentials. I try a couple of times a day. Eventually, it works for a couple of days, then craps out again.

Great beer, terrible app

The pop-up screens do not work well. For example, I am trying to edit my monthly subscription but I can only see half the pop-up screen. I cant change my subscription.

Sloooooooooooooooooooow

Didn’t transfer my account info to the app. Click a button, wait a few minutes and watch the “just wiping the foam off your beer” slogan for….a few minutes. Hope they fix it.

Horrible

It won’t let me log in. This has to be one of the fastest growing NA Beer companies in the country and with how much they charge for a 6-Pack they need to invest a little bit more in the App to fix the issues. Be better ABC.

Ordering system needs some touching up

ID.me discounts seem to work everywhere for Athletic except within the app, even when your account is linked. The ID.me button on the checkout page does not seem to be linked to anything.

Broken app

I couldn’t create an account via the app. So did it on the website. Then couldn’t use that login to access the app. Too bad the app isn’t as good as their beer.

Easy to use, some gaps compared to web

Update 10/25/22: Appreciate the dev response regarding the beer selection and they are working on adding calorie info. Adding a star for that and will update once the calories are added. The app itself is simple to use and easy to navigate. However not all beers are listed and not all calorie information is present in the app. I understand there is an app-exclusive beer, but why are some of the other limited edition beers only available on the web? I’d like to make one combined order for >$50 for free shipping but this makes it impossible to do so.
