Loaned my car while on vacation, 5 Stars
I never write reviews but I have to for Avail. I’m currently loaning my car to Avail while I’m out of the country for an extended time (30+ days). It’s been 1.5 weeks and my car has been rented non-stop in BWI, I’ve earned $266 dollars already + FREE PARKING and cleaning! Avail customer service is exceptional! They reach out to me letting me know that my 2 rear tires need to be replaced, got a low cost quote for my approval and is getting a quote for an oil change - all while I’m away. They really take care of everything for you! It’s easy money for you while your car is free for someone else to use and the free parking is much needed to say the least! I travel a lot and looking forward to making a little cash on the side with my car and Avail while I’m away!

CAR WAS STOLEN!!!
UNETHICAL AND UNACCEPTABLE!! I don’t write reviews, good or bad but they definitely earned this one!! I rented my car with avail while I was on a trip with my family, I was supposed to get back on July 12th and that’s when my car should have been available for me, before our flights back on the 12th we received a phone call from a representative letting us know that the car would be returned 3 hours later than expected so that would mean that we wouldn’t have our car when we got back, so that itself is a hassle when you live 40 minutes away from the airport!! When getting back we got told that our car should have been returned on the 10th and for the past 2 days they were trying to figure out where it was!!!!! So they bluntly told us a lie that led us to believe that our car was safe and on its way back!!! THIS IS DOWN RIGHT UNETHICAL AND UNACCEPTABLE!!! Oh and by the way it’s a Mercedes Benz almost brand new. So I took it upon myself and called the police to start making themselves accountable for the location and safety of my vehicle!! Trust goes both ways and they bluntly told a lie and broke that trust. I hope this reviews gets very high up the chain because I’m still at the airport talking to the police and trying to figure this out.

Don’t give them your car
Just tried this service for my first time. It probably works great for those who are renting other peoples cars but not for those who give Avail their car in exchange for free parking. Took a trip out of town with my family for two weeks and the first day someone rents my car they had an accident. It was poor communication and they couldn’t tell me what happened to my car. All they said was it was a “flat tire.” I could go on and on but bottom line is “is it worth saving $100 in parking to lend this company your car?” No way! Typical tech company that points you towards the app or an email for service. Sorry it’s my car and I loaned it to you and I should be able to talk to the parking attendant who saw my car not someone at a 1-800 number. Thankfully my car only had a flat tire which it took them 6 days to fix and put my car back in the lot. Don’t give them your car. You could have a great experience and gain $100 or you could have a nightmare where someone doesn’t care if they wreck someone else’s car and the service teams protocol is unprepared. (First time I ever wrote a review but hopefully this saves someone.)

Beware! Do not rent from Avail
My partner and I were so excited for our 4th of July long weekend. We made a reservation with Avail to rent a car for Thursday-Sunday. We followed the instructions to a T, we showed up at the garage, unlocked the lock box….. and surprise surprise NO KEY. We contacted Avail support which is just a chat bot. After spending roughly an hour chatting through sms, Avail told us to cancel our reservation and look for a new car. A glitch in the app wouldn’t allow me to cancel my own reservation so I had to wait for support to do it. By the time I was able to select a new car in the app, there were NO cars in the city for the dates we needed. This completely ruined our weekend plans. We never made it out of the city in time, we wasted money on an Airbnb that we couldn’t use bc we had no way to get to our destination. The customer service only has standard scripts to follow, it’s impossible to get a real person on the phone. They offered me a 40% coupon for my next rental but I will never use it bc I have no trust in this company. This service is scam.

NEVER book with Avail
Tried booking a car for my trip this weekend. Uploaded my license, got approved, booked and PAID for my car reservation. 8 minutes after booking I got an email saying my reservation was cancelled due to ‘internal risk guideline failure’. I immediately called and asked why and customer service said they can’t disclose why I failed but I am no longer allowed to book a car through them ever again?? I asked to speak to someone higher up and was told there is no one for me to speak to and that they would just say the same thing. I asked for more specifics of this guideline and they said they look at my driving record. My driving record is clean so i’m very unsure of why I am permanently banned from renting a car through them especially since this is my first time. I’ve gotten no answers and now i’m concerned about them having my card information and feel i have to cancel my debit card just days before my trip. At the very least don’t take payments or card information until someone is fully approved ???

DO NOT USE AVAIL - THEY ARE AWFUL
They are the absolute worst!!! DO NOT use this company for your car rental needs. I booked my car rental months in advance and called in multiple times and they canceled my reservation less than 24 hours before my flight the next day. They only communicate via email and if that email goes to your spam folder and you don’t see it well then you are screwed and they will cancel your reservation without so much as a phone call. I called them more than once and never did they communicate verbally what they stated in the email and when I called the night before my flight they said unfortunately their only way of communication is by Email and there’s nothing they can do to get my reservation back. If I could rate them less than one star I would. How could they not give me my reservation back when I called within two minutes of them sending me an email stating it was canceled. They do not care about their customers. They are the worst and most unprofessional company ever.

STAY AWAY - SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES
You will have nothing but headaches from this company. Largely because their customer service is entirely chat/email based with useless canned messages. I have yet to even get my hands in a car with Avail and I refuse to try again. My first reservation, the reservation details just disappeared. Poof, gone from the app. Okay …. the second reservation, they unexpectedly changed the car on me. Fine, not a big deal. Something came up and I cancelled my trip 1 week in advance, which mostly went fine. Then, several days later they charged me an additional fee for insurance. Huh??? I spoke to someone via chat at they said they could only refund the fee if I uploaded my insurance information. First of all, I don’t have a car or car insurance, that’s why I rent in the first place. Second of all, what difference does it make if my reservation has already been cancelled??? How can charge me additional for a service I’m no longer receiving. Still waiting for my money back. What a scam. Beware.

Owners Beware of toll charges and unfair toll policy
AVAIL claims their sharing process is hassle free but when renters use the vehicle and pass through tolls , it gets billed to the registered owners. Keep in mind that most tolls centers do not have Cash lanes anymore and the toll ( with penalties ) bet billed to vehicle owners. First of all, owners are NOT given such a heads up and are expected to read through pages of AVAIL’s FAQ to know and be prepared about this. This means, AVAIL expects them to spend significant time learning all their FAQ’s and then predict all possible issues arising out of sharing their vehicle. How is that hassle free sharing ? Since AVAIL is the one to learn of these issues first hand it’s their responsibility to come up with procedures to avoid or mitigate such issues. But sadly, they are choosing to pass the burden to owners because they will refuse to reimburse after 90 days of toll transaction. ( keep in mind the bills may generate several weeks after the transaction )

5/5! Definitely recommend over legacy rental car companies!
Picking up the car took a total of about 2-3 minutes. Dropping off was even quicker. Very smooth process! The vehicle was just like it appeared in the photos, if not better. Very easy to use the app and I definitely recommend it to anyone who has avail in their city. I’m in Chicago and it was by far cheaper than Turo Hertz and all the other legacy rental car companies.

Needs improvement
It’s surprising to me whenever people trash other peoples property but since they do there has to be some kind of oversight. Owners of the vehicles should never be charged for the errors of the drivers. The best solution could be allowing only drivers who also loan cars. People who see both sides of the equation should be more likely to be respectful the vehicles. The company should provide fleet license plates to prevent the owners being charged for the drivers tickets. It becomes a losing business when the people providing the cars have them stolen, damaged, ticketed, left with tolls they didn’t use and so on. Sure, they can go ahead and continue to take that risk but how long will people provide the cars? I’m not.

Doesn’t take manual but doesn’t tell you!
I was really excited to use Avail and the sign up process was straightforward. I spent a bunch of time putting all the information in and prepping my car. I arrived at the drop off point with a reservation to learn that they don’t accept manual transmission! Nothing I read said anything about that and I had even registered my car as manual on the app and it didn’t say anything about a manual car not being rentable. So we had spent time and money prepping the car and driving to the specific location only to be rejected. We had to scramble last minute to find affordable parking and we were really bummed. The Avail folks didn’t let us park there despite very unclear expectations on the app. It would be a very easy fix on the app to warn people that manual transmission isn’t accepted. Please change this so people can have more clear expectations about what will happen when they arrive.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER TREATMENT
I have rented with this company on numerous occasions, and for the most part, it’s been great. But just recently they randomly and unprovoked kicked me off the app and told me I’m unable to rent with the again. But here’s the kicker, THEY DONT EVEN KNOW WHY?! The customer support couldn’t even tell me why because the system doesn’t give details. It just automatically checks an account and says “yes” or “no” as to its eligibility. I’ve rented on so many occasions with NO PROBLEMS at all. Now all of a sudden, not only am I not able to rent, I can’t use the app ever again. The support lady told me they have changed policies and due to these policies once banned by the system, you can’t use the app ever again. On top of all of this, they also lost my garage sticker which costs money, they told me they had it, then when I arrive to pick it up they couldn’t find it anywhere. This company is a joke

I hate this company
I shared my car with avail back on may 18, 2021. I found out on may 31st that my car has not returned from its reservation. Then to only find out later that the car has been stolen!!!!! I have been calling religiously trying to get answers on what happened to my car! They won’t let me speak to a manager… the “trust and safety” department is unreachable and my case has been open for more than 50 days! I am making payments on a car that I DO NOT have. I have no been able to track my car through the Hyundai app for almost a month now!!!! My car is gone and NO ONE cares. No one has contact me about my vehicle it have has to CALL this company so much! This is so pathetic and I’m never working with this scammer friendly company again! My car is gone! They WILL NOT return my calls! I would give this company 0 stars if I could!!!!!! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY

Not great so far
I have had a really bad experience both with the app and with Avail overall. I am an owner and decided to rent my car on avail because it was way less maintenance than Turo. Well my first time renting the car, it incurred rear bumper damage and I wasn’t notified until much later. The app has built in redundancies that makes it very difficult to get paid (I.e. you have to have your license verified before getting paid but not before renting your car… why??) the app says you can only rent for 14 days at a time but in order to be eligible for Avail Plus 2.0, you have to schedule a 1 month rental. I’m pretty much not making any money at all right now because my car was damaged and Avail is dragging their feet getting the repairs done. This has been a nightmare from the ghetto. Would not advise.

Don’t lend your car with Avail
My experience is that Avail has horrible customer service . I have left my car with them at Denver airport 4 times, and they always miss some days, fuel charges or mileage fees. It’s not huge, but I am always missing $30-60 dollars . The only way I can police them is by using the telemetry in my car. If you don’t have that, there’s no way of knowing how long your car is out , and the app does not tell you any of that information. Avail doesn’t reply to emails (sent over 20 to try to try to fix a 3 day missing payment) and if you call you are out on hold for hours. Even though the representatives are nice and polite, they have no power to fix any of the issues. It’s a nice idea, really bad execution . Try some other way to share your car, you’ll be sorry to use this app.

Not professional
First car I rented was not checked. It had a rotor that was rusted so bad you can hear it. Had to switch it out with another. Rented for a second time no issues. The third time I tried to rent they said I didn’t meet the requirements they needed after renting twice already. Both times I rented I had my account on hold due to a gas or mileage charge which were both incorrect. I filled each car up and checked the mileage. Once paid, I booked a reservation and they cancelled it with no email or text. Mind you, I was already at the location. Had I not reached out too then, I wouldn’t have known what really happened. Not to mention there phone line has been down alll day.

They’ll let you down when you need them the most
I’ve been using Avail since 2021 and have used their company in three different states. All of a sudden they only have locations in TWO CITIES in the entire U.S. I tried to make a reservation this morning, make the reservation, but it doesn’t show up on my app. After waiting 30 minutes to speak to someone, I told them my issues, and then they tell me that I’m on a block list. I asked why and they can’t tell me why. So, if you want to be loyal to a company just for them to extremely downsize and then block you no reason, then Avail is the company for you. Go ahead and waste your unlimited data getting the app and waste your time trying to figure out what’s wrong with them.

Easy to use but price keeps going up
The ease of avail is actually very nice. I like the app and find everything has gotten better over time with their app (it used to be hot garbage). They outsource customer service and never had a good experience with them. But general use of getting a car has never been a problem! But now they keep adding more fees. Their is a new arbitrary “trip fee”. That wasn’t there a month ago. A $55 car is now costing almost $100 bucks for a day. Going to have to wind down using this service if prices don’t go down.

Amazing!
Recently went on a four day trip and had no problems! Everything was very easy to navigate, both in person and on the app. I am also so so grateful that Avail allows young drivers and doesn’t charge any young driver fees, because without them I wouldn’t have been able to take this trip since normal rental companies won’t allow it! I would 100% use this service again :)

CAR sharing
We shared our car at ORD and had a great experience! The car was cleaner than we’d seen in a long time after picking it back up, inside and out, and the car was rented out to at least 4 people. We earned a nice amount! There was a little bit an odd smell in the car at pick up, but after some air freshener in the car it quickly resolved. Definitely using this again!

Exceptional customer service!
I used this service in Denver. It was very convenient to shuttle to and there weren’t any lines or waiting time! The employees were so nice and they have the best customer service I’ve seen in a very long time. There was a slight worry that a car computer issue was going to cause a charge on my card, but the complete opposite happened as avail team went above and beyond for us!!

150 miles a day! Better off going to major rental CO.
Get this notification there now in Phoenix, so thought I would give it a try. Every vehicle that’s available has 150 mile limit per day! If anybody know anything about AZ, you would know it’s a tourist state. From Phoenix to the Grand Canyon and back is well over 150 miles. After adding the extra mileage, you’ll spend more then what you would have spent at Budget/Enterprise. You do better off using Turo. If you don’t want the miles on the car, don’t rent it out! App is user friendly with a nice setup. Prices seem reasonable until you look at mileage fee. To each it’s own!

Bad support team
Had multiple cars listed with them all came back with issues during the trip 1- car came back with obd connector wires cut and they just tell me to call support, i call support and they’re like we don’t handle that and someone will contact you from our leadership team , it’s been over a month and no one has contacted me 2-car was never detailed, they left trash and stuff in my car and even their tracking device 3-got car with empty tank and had to call multiple times to get reimbursed for only gas amount I know its the new company and they’re trying but their support system need to contact owners and solve things instead of ignoring

Badly managed system
First time I rented, they tried to charge me $500 for damage to the car that was already there before. I swore off renting from them, but couldn't find any alternatives for Thanksgiving, so I gave them a second try. This time, I spent 2 hours in a cold parking garage text-chatting with some fellow. Nobody had put the ramp exit pass in the car, and the person on the line couldn't figure out how to get me out of there. I get the impression Avail is trying to set up a network by doing everything as cheaply as possible. "Move fast and break things" may make their investors happy, but it's me who got broken.

Bad Experience
Loaned my cars with Avail, joined there year program to make $$$. Mid of the year they end the program abruptly and none of my cars are eligible for the new program… meanwhile while they had my cars they rented them to individuals that caused accidents, got speeding tickets, toll booth tickets and then they refused to reimburse me for toll tickets that happened on their watch saying that it was too late to report, even though I had no way of knowing until i received a letter in the mail in Feb 2022 from and out of state DMV saying you have a bill from Sep 2021! The operation they are running is messy and I won’t ever work with them again.

Beware - Do Not Trust this Company
I have had a nightmare of an experience renting my car to Avail. They confirmed reimbursement for damages caused to my vehicle while it was in their possession, but I have not reviewed a response from my claim in over three weeks (response time was supposed to be 2 - 3 days). I have written confirmation a bonus I was to receive, yet I haven’t received even a response in two months despite faxing (yes, they only except fax for certain documents) over a month ago. I could go on with my negative experience, but please do yourself a favor and do not trust your vehicle with this company. It is so far the worst decision I’ve made.

Not accepting EVs (yet?)
I got to register my model 3 in the app without problems, but when I was reading the small print there was a clause that no EV would be able to be shared, I called support and was told that Teslas were the only ones accepted, so I took it in. Gladly, they have honored the $100 bonus and have kept my car in the parking lot, but no additional earnings could be made and having known before I’d have used Turo as I also have set it up for Turo Go. Please update this as the system looks really promising! Thanks.

Issues
I never write a review but I need to do this on Avail, I linked my bank account and then I decided to unlink it and the app didn’t let me get it removed and then I contact support team to do so, at first they said OK we will send you OTP just give it us back as asked I did it right away and then asked for driver’s license I gave it and then said we can’t do it on our end you yourself have to take care of it on your end beside this I have got some more inconveniences from Avail so I highly recommend it for people who share their cars on it not to use unless they have nowhere else to rent out their cars

Pathetic customer supporr
I was sharing my car with Avail and it was involved in a crash on the first trip. I have been trying to get information regarding my car but the customer support is pathetic.. They have not been responding to emails and when I call they say they cannot provide any additional information and just that it has been in an accident and the lot team is looking at it. They won't provide any SLA, they wont let me talk to any supervisor, they won't even transfer the call to the Lot team. I would definitely NOT recommend Avail to anyone.!

No more rental cars for me!
I have used this service 4 times now at the Denver airport and continue to be impressed by this service. The process is fast and easy, the staff is very friendly and I received a great car every time, for a much lower price than the like rental cars over the same period of time. I hope to see this service in the others cities I travel to in the near future!!!!

I’m shorting car rental stocks
I use this every time I fly. The antiquated car rental companies don’t know it yet, but they’re in big trouble. Not only is my truck in better condition than when I drop it off, I also have insurance protection, save money on an Uber from my house to airport, save money on Uber back my house, oh, and then like $80 just magically shows up in my bank account. Unreal.

Poor experience through app.
The call center is always available without long hold times but the app is terrible. I have emailed avail support almost 10 times to let them know that my earnings are stuck on $0 and for various other issues. Out of about 10 emails in the past month I got two responses. One was apologizing since I resolved the issue on my own and they gave me a $25 gift card which was nice but doesn’t solve their communications issues if they continue the same pattern. I have since sent them an email 5-6 times over the last 2 weeks with no response other than to ask me to give the DL information after about a week and no response now for the last week after verifying my DL expiration date. The call center is very professional but their app and email support is terrible. If I would of known about this before putting my car into their program I may have reconsidered.

Very poor customer service.
The guys on premise were amazing, it was the phone and text customer service that was horrible. My dates were wrong on my reservation, and so I cancelled and tried to rebook. While there were multiple cars available there, they would not loan them to me, saying I need to wait for four hours to rebook, despite the fact that I was standing there looking at an available car. Text support was utterly useless “24 hour” phone support was unavailable. They may have just lost a customer.

Good two experiences
Surprised to see the negative experiences here but I guess thats par for the course when you’re in the business of renting out privately owned vehicles. Rented my car twice now and had a good experience both times. The best part is the free parking and car wash, the rental money is secondary. Car was returned clean and process was relatively painless.

Fast and Easy
I cannot imagine renting from anywhere else. The staff is helpful and friendly. The cars are clean and reliable. Overall, it is extremely fast, affordable and a very simple process. Even extending your rental is easy. I just hope no bad apples mess this process up.

Passive income
I love making income without doing anything and Avail car sharing is perfect for that. They are still working out some kinks but customer service is A #1! I’ve been in the customer service business for years and have never seen it any better than Avail. Always friendly staff and caring employees. I give 4 stars only because they are growing and can let’s find room for improvements.

Horrible
The app works fine and the concept is great, but the customer service is horrible and virtually non-existent. They have a chat feature only - no number to call if you have any issues. It takes forever for the agents to respond in the chat and they don’t seem like they’re interested in helping their customers when they do respond and do not follow up as they say they will. Wouldn’t recommend because if you have any issues at all, you’re basically out of luck.

BEST WORST APP
I started using this app once I moved to Denver, this used to be the best app ever until once I couldn't open the Key box to return the keys. I called the customer service but unfortunately, customer service didn't know how to deal with the problem ⚠️ they said they will read a book to answer my question!!! I had the keys for two days then they called and asked to put the key somewhere. I was charged for three days although they promised not to charge me! They really need to work on their customer service. Otherwise, they will lose more fans.

banned for no reason
I used avail a few times to rent cars and every time i returned my rented vehicle on time with no damage and refueled. one day i go to rent a car for the weekend and they take my money and then tell me im banned from renting…i asked customer service what’s the reason i can’t rent anymore and they tell me they don’t have to disclose that information and if they want to ban a user they can with no justification under the “law”..never got my money back either had to call my bank and go through a whole ordeal.

Great service!
I can’t say enough about this new app! At the bare minimum, you get to leave your car with them at the airport for free, get a free car wash and free shuttle ride to and from the airport 24/7. Best case scenario is that they rent your car out for you while you’re gone and supplement some travel expenses. Great customer service and insurance service as well!

This is the way to go if you’re looking for best value. The service attendants at the parking spot were great - no waiting around. Car I got was super clean with low mileage. Saved probably 130 bucks over Turo even. No extra or hidden fees that I could see. Will refer and will use again

This concept is brilliant, and they execute it well. I would love to Avail eventually make it into airport rental areas, but I have now loaned my car to Avail for several long weekends trips. I love it, and the execution of their customer service is the icing on the cake. App can be a little glitchy

After two wonderful experiences with the Avail team in Orlando, we left another car with Avail in Baltimore. This company just has a knack for hiring amazing people. Everyone we have met or spoken to on the phone has been polite and professional. We are hooked!

Customer Support is Horrible
I applied for the service went through everything just for them to deny my application and not tell me why and have to wait 3 months for a review. Insane, waited hours on the phone with them just to tell me that there’s nothing they can do, and the system is final, she couldn’t even tell me why I was being denied either. She basically just told me to screw off, it was crazy, I have no DUIs no speeding tickets on my record, clean honestly this customer support is horrible!

App doesn’t work
This app is very clunky, I’ve had nothing but issues with it from the start. Every time I’ve rented out my car, the reservation times have changed (without me initiating anything), so I’ve had to go back in and modify, which is a huge pain especially when the app rarely works. Customer support is helpful, but Avail only works consistently if you’re on your computer desktop. Have also had issues with receiving payment for sharing my car.

Not satisfied
I was looking forward to using service with Avail. Unfortunately, using the mobile app was inefficient to approve my driver’s license. The about company info says “ages 18+ “, I am 20. I spoke to customer service four times to sort out the issue. Representatives were kind, but they advised me to get a real driver’s license even though they can personally view my driver’s license submission! “Their system scans the cards and they cannot correct the system”. I was told my DL was a “photo ID”. My local dmv would not be pleased.

Joke of a service.
I decided to give this service a try for the first time. I was doubtful about using this type of service and at the end I was right. They confirmed my reservation. They checked my driver license. They took my money and then no car after I arrived at the airport. They never called just sent an email after their app gave me a confirmation saying the reservation was cancelled. I now have to wait for the refund and the inconvenience. Just rent the normal way. Stay away from this joke of a company.

Full of bugs. Poor support team. Regret trying it!
The app is full of bugs. It didn’t send me any notification or email when somebody borrowed my car. I didn’t know how I get paid. It just display a single earnings balance with no breakdown or history. The borrower made a big dent and two deep scratches on my hood which was really visible and will cost me a ton of money to fix it but Drift denied to cover as they said “those scratches/depression is less than 3 inches”. Very disappointed with the app and the team. Will not recommend it to anyone.

DO NOT RENT WITH THEM
I’ve rented from this company atleast 6 times and it is always a problem. Last time, the lockbox wouldn’t open so they cancelled my trip right then and there and told me to book a different vehicle. Today i arrive and the car keys were not in the lockbox, again they cancelled my reservation and left me stranded. I insisted that they try to help me by locating the keys, figuring out why this happened and they just keep sending me automated messages. Stick to Enterprise and Hertz.
