Avelo

I haven’t used this app a lot but it’s clearly inferior for login. It’s expecting users to remember which id/email as well as the password. No options for faceid and it doesn’t tie into the password manager. I had to manually add id/password to the psd manager and then it’s still a bit clunky. On the positive side I was able to find, book, and pay for a flight pretty easily. Of course the added fees for a seat and carryon are ridiculous. New Haven is convenient but Breeze (Hartford) is slightly less ridiculous; flies more often and I can park for $7 a day. Nothing in this last paragraph is the fault of the app!

I don’t quite understand why this app does not show my previous or future trips. Click on “my account” and it goes to My Trips. But… no trips are listed there. What’s the problem? What is the point of the app if I can’t check to see if there has been any change to my flight? My first trip with Avelo, they sent an email (buried in the 217 other emails they send with promotions) saying they canceled my flight and booked me on one the next morning. HELLO! The email should have had in bold letters “🚨IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING YOUR FLIGHT! PLEASE READ!” It didn’t…it just said “Flight status update..” I HAPPENED to log into my account a few days before to double check everything and when I entered my conf # it gave me a totally diff day and time for my flight… and oh look at that, my flight was canceled and rebooked. The app should be sending push notifications regarding flight changes, reminders to check-in, etc… I had to change my plans which was FINE - glad I checked. But this info should have been in the app… Come on guys! This is simple stuff - every other airline app allows you to access all your flight info and sends reminders. Other than app issues - I had no problem with the actual flight etc… 😏 It was pretty chill and uneventful.

This app is a white labeled, cookie cutter app that does not serve customer needs. I purchased tickets online, but I cannot see them in the app? Why not? As another customer has pointed out, flight status is not shown in the app. Again, why not? The account information that I provided when purchasing tickets online is not present in the app. Why is the app not using the same account info as the website? What is the point of this app, other than to serve as a sales funnel for tickets? Why would I feel comfortable purchasing tickets through the app if my information isn’t even synced between platforms? I understand that Avelo may have purchased a white labeled app and has plans to add functionality, but these things are table stakes. This app should be pulled off the App Store until it has the necessary features to serve the minimum expectations of customer experience.

I see a ton of bad reviews and I just want to be the one to say people complain about literally anything and it’s really not that bad. While the app is a bit clunky compare to others I’ve used (JetBlue, Delta, Southwest), I was able to retrieve my boarding pass and add it to my Apple wallet which is all I really care about. That said, the “add to Apple wallet” option in the app doesn’t work, I receive an error. In order to get it to my wallet, I had to either trigger the email or SMS text, THEN use the Apple wallet option. I’ll also add I work in tech and consider myself a bit more patient and tech savvy, so maybe I’m just biased 😂 I don’t think all the 1 start reviews are warranted because the app functions pretty well.

The Avelo Airlines app has significantly improved my travel experience with its user-friendly interface and seamless features. Signing in is quick and secure, and booking flights is easy with clear choices. Managing my trips, checking flight status, and making changes are all convenient and smooth. The trip management feature acts like a personal travel assistant, and payments are quick and secure with multiple options. Overall, the app makes travel planning and management easy and stress-free. Highly recommended!

I’ve read lots of the previous reviews and my experience was a bit different in Feb 2024. Searching flight options, booking the flight, adding baggage, and checking out was very simple and easy. Once I decided on the flight, it took maybe 3 minutes to add passengers, add bags, and check out. That’s great! Logging in each time you use the app is annoying. It’s not a big deal, but having to enter an email address and password with each use is an extra, and unnecessary step. This would give the app an extra ⭐️ from me.

This app is completely useless except for checking in. And if your flight has had any changes, you won’t know until you try to check in. It doesn’t list your trips so you can’t click on a trip and check the status. I spent fifteen minutes on two different occasions and accomplished nothing. Also, it won’t save my date of birth. It tells me that the format is wrong and shows me exactly what’s typed in there as “correct,” and still won’t accept it. And I got stuck in there and had to close the app in order to get out of the “personal data” loop. I hope the flight itself is better than this app. I’ll go back to Alaska and Southwest after this trip because at least I can use their apps to find my trips.

When we got to the airport to get on the flight it got delayed 30 minutes before boarding even thought I tried to look for any delays earlier but it didn’t show anything and on a flight that was supposed to leave at 8am was SUPPOSED to leave at 10:20 am so we than boarded and the plane didn’t leave til 1 PM, 1PM! It didn’t stop there as we flew Avelo on the way back home and everything was going as planned until we were about to land but there was a slight drizzle and instead of landing in CT which is where we were supposed to land we landed in Baltimore freaking Maryland and even on the way to Maryland we just kept flying in circles until we finally landed this was for sure the worst flying expierience ever!!!

I’ve come to the conclusion that people are never going to be happy no matter what!!If you ever tried to book a flight on Spirit then you would have something to complain about. Booking was a BREEZE!! Easiest ever and you don’t get worked over for every little item for extra $$$. So with that said I’m sold for now just be happy your not booking on Spirit Airlines because you will have something to really complain about that’s for certain!!! 😎

The app is pretty poor for any person that may fly. Spirit offers better functions. The app glitches and forces close. When you open the app it doesn’t even show your current booked flight on the header. You have to search it. There’s no save feature or real time updates to check your flight status. Upgrading ticket options are little to non existent. You can’t even retrieve your boarding pass through the app. I’m confused how this app even made it through and consumer testing.

This app serves no purpose whatsoever. It does as much if not less than the browser website, only clunkier and glitchier. Also why even have an account if none of your info gets stored? A comprehensive list of everything this app CAN’T do: You can’t check flight status, access boarding pass, view seat map at any time other than during check-in, access flight history, store account info or passenger details, store payment options. It doesn’t even save your upcoming flight reservations so if you want to check in, change, or cancel, you have to dig up the email and type in the confirmation.

I am using Avelo airlines for 1st time. When you purchase tickets.. show up to airport.. and quit complaining. I just flew American Airlines.. Instead of solely relying on their app I just googled the e.g. AA2378 and information came up better than app. Like which terminal.. which gate.. Flight status… Avelo has customer service number which answers the phone for those who have questions. Avelo ticket is 70% cheaper than AA.

I feel like 2 stars is a fair review because as far as it showing my flight as well as being able to check in— it works great! When it comes to changing seat selections… adjust bags… any sort of changes that need to be made just send me to a blank screen. Bummer! I want to be prepared and make it as easy for myself and the people in the airport by being prepared but it’s difficult to do when I’m getting a blank screen. Please update to fix! Thank you.

Hope the flights are better than app!!! Can’t find reservations on app… most of the time it’s just blank white pages. Silly me didn’t realize I paid for seats when I chose them. Seats choice was more than flight tickets. Paid $500 for $300 tickets. My fault for accepting it but they list it so it appears to be seat numbers to me. Took 2 days to get email response. I tried calling but hung up after 25 minutes and never told where I was in que. They have a lot of work needed on customer service and this APP. Covid is no longer an excuse either !!!!

Honestly, I’m not sure what all the bad reviews are about. Maybe they had a recent update? I was able to download the app, find my flight, book my flight, check into my flight, and add my ticket to my wallet on my iPhone. Not a single hiccup. Must be a lot of illiterate people in here, because I literally had zero issues.

i’ll say “ditto” to the mostly negative reviews about this app. I enjoy Avelo for what it is, although the prices have gone up significantly in the past six month-year. I used to be thrilled when I could book a no-carry on super-budget flight for the cities I often travel for $39-$59. Now, the lowest I see is $71-$134 (one-way). what happened?

I was a little nervous to download the app after all the reviews. But they must’ve done an update because it seems to work just fine. I could search flights. My old flight that I already booked shows up. No glitches so far. hopefully my experience continues.

Congratulations Avelo! Hands down you are the worst airline app. Todays inaccuracy: you show an upcoming flight for one date ( a date that we changed long ago) but when we click on it, it now shows the correct date. You send cryptic emails about changes that have been made but no details to those changes. You email about funds being added but those funds never show up on the app. Oh, by the way, by the time you add up the cost of a seat and luggage charge…you ain’t so cheap.

App requires you to log in each time you open it, and there’s about a 50/50 shot it won’t actually log you in. There’s a lot of loading screens that go nowhere and things like flight status don’t work or don’t update at all. Plan on printing your boarding pass or adding it to your wallet when you check in, and then track your flight at the airport. Do not rely on this app for travel. Really surprising how bad the app is considering how competent the actual airline is.

The app is not the most user friendly app or flashy one at that. However it allows you to book your flight retrieve your flight info and download your boarding pass. Pretty straight forward and once you have used it a couple of times it’s much easier to navigate.

I wish so badly this app was better. It does what it needs to do… but bare bones at best. It’s concerning the last update was over a year ago. I hope they push some new updates and redesigns that make seeing flight information (past and present) and doing actions like checking in, easier and not requiring the confirmation ticket number. That’s a pain.

Personally, i think its dumb that people are complaining about one thing. If you don't like that one specific thing, then don't write an entire essay about it. Anyways good airline company, prices are fair and I myself are going to Orlando with Avelo soon. And I'm pretty excited about that

Can’t believe this is allowed to be an airline app. No checkin ability Can’t view existing reservations. Can’t update seats. Reservation finder doesn’t work. All u can do apparently is find flights but doubt that works. And customer service is non existent. Min half hour to hour on hold. I have flown multiple times on avelo and want them to succeed. But gosh. The frustration when something goes wrong which is often is so bad that I think the bigger airlines may be better

I’m fascinated by how awful this app is. There must have been an in-house competition as to who could build a more useless app. Ah well, after I got over my shock that I can’t even see my booked flights on this app, I just deleted it and do it old school - paper boarding passes at the airport, little post-it notes in my (real actual) wallet with confirmation numbers. And I hand typed all my flights into iCal since there is no auto-addition like other airlines. Air Avelo - cute, quaint, cheap, and good for a giggle.

Listen, they are a cute spunky airline that takes me where I want to go. But the app is really not good at all. I’m not sure about this update they are talking about but, yeah…no. Once I’ve logged on (multiple times) it still doesn’t have a section or an ability to see my upcoming flights. So of course you can’t adjust or view or make changes to anything. I want it to be good. I want them to be successful. But y’all need to start with this app.

It’s an ok app. There’s no way to bookmark a flight so you can go back and check it, you just have to enter your confirmation number and your last name everytime. 2 of the 3 buttons in the app just open a website in the app. More of the features should be directly integrated into the app.

Where do I begin. You have to login using your email and password every time you open it. Are you serious? Next I can’t get my trips to load at all, so can’t purchase any services, can’t get updated information like a gate change while I was at the airport. Never use this app or Avelo ever again Update: received response saying the app was fixed. Still can’t get anything to load. Still worthless.

I’ve flown Avelo twice so far and it was a good experience. BUT—their app is seriously a joke. If I could give 0 stars for the app I would. I don’t understand why Avelo hasn’t fixed it yet. You can’t book flights, look up your upcoming trips, or legit do ANYTHING in there. What’s the point in offering an app to customers if you’re not going to make it usable??? It makes the airline look janky and even cheaper. Not a good look, Avelo.

I am going to be taking my first trip on Avelo tomorrow and so far the process hasn’t been comforting. I had to email them 4 times until I finally received a confirmation of my ticket and then I decided to try the app to check in today. This App is total garbage. I couldn’t login in and it kept glitching constantly and told me I would have to wait to see a gate agent. I don’t think I have ever used a worse app. Garbage.

Why in the world can I NOT get my boarding pass once I check in? It asks if you want to send to my Apple wallet but takes you to a screen with a bunch of random characters and never gets added to my Apple wallet. I can go back and add seats or bags but can’t get a simple boarding pass? Strange. I love the airline but the app could be better.

Signing in seems to only work some of the time. When it does work, the app seems to stutter and load for long periods. Only reason I use the app is because the mobile website popup UI actually impedes your ability to interact with buttons on the page, such as selecting the last few rows of seats on a flight, or even selecting the option to add a checked bag.

This app is not very user friendly. You will find it difficult to find the information you need. Going from one link to another within the app is very slow. Sometimes the likes/pages don’t even load. I’m sure Avelo will get there eventually but for now, this app needs work.

This app doesn’t work well. I have to sign in every time instead of it remembering my log in info and once I’m logged in the Home Screen won’t load. I then go to the drop down menu to check my upcoming flight, type the confirmation # in and can’t find the reservation. If I want to view it, I have to go through an internet search. This app is useless.

“My account” doesn’t show my trip. Does it only show when you’ve taken the trip? What does work is the site offers change or update reservation. That’s the way to check your reservation and DON’T change it if you want to keep it.

Just got the app and don’t know what to say. I guess you can’t look up the flight you just booked? All I see is the link to book future flights??? Navigating between things all I get are blank white pages. Afraid to go to change/cancel link-might cancel my flight. Hope this allows for check-in and to obtain boarding passes and put them in wallet??? Not impressed.

Hi. I like the affordability of this airline. I just wish that the app could be more accessible. I would like to be able to add my trip to it. The only option I have is Cancel or Change trip but not add. Once the Add an existing trip is added. I will adjust my score.

Zero point in downloading the app when you can just book using your browser. The app doesn’t show any of your reservation information which is incredibly frustrating. An upcoming flight of mine changed and I only found out because of an email that went to my spam folder. They very much need to fix this.

I download this app and when I attempted to create an account the screen froze… I uninstalled / reinstalled, but still unable to create an account. I appreciate no frills, discount airlines, but app development is not the place to skimp. I don’t expect Avelo Airlines will last more then a year or so if this app is any indication of what consumers should expect when flying with them.

On the website you can create an account using your Google, Facebook or Microsoft logins. On the app, you only have options for Facebook and Microsoft. Therefore, if you set up your account on a desktop using Google, you are screwed and the app is worthless. Might be time to update your systems to 2007 levels of integration.

In the summer of 2022 Avelo saved me literally THOUSANDS of dollars in flights to see my family. It’s time for me to start flying again, but for some mysterious reason my account “doesn’t exist” even though they’ve sent me emails every three days since 2022. Disappointing database management. Hopefully I don’t have the same experience on their website…

If you try to create an account, you get a spinning wheel that never resolves itself. If you try to get boarding passes for multiple people on the same itinerary, it can only send one of them — the same one every time you try — to your wallet, and there doesn’t appear to be a way to send the other people their boarding passes.

This is the most useless “app” ever! You can’t see anything past or future! I leave next week for Orlando, I hope the flights better than the “app” and costumer service! I had to call and ask a question that I couldn’t get an answer to on the app. The person in the other end of the line was rude and hateful!

Definitely not user friendly. No way to track travel funds in app. If you don’t make the reservation under your name it won’t register the reservation on your account. Flights should be shown by travel date not date you booked. Please update!!!

This app is literally useless. First, it requires you login with your full email address and password every single time. Why doesn’t it allow facial recognition like every other app on the market? It doesn’t track your previous trips it doesn’t allow alerts or updates is literally useless.

Can’t sign in with google because the in app browser is not compliant with google standards. Tried to make my own account via verification and password and it just kept spinning. This app is horrible and Avelo should be ashamed of this. They have been in business for some time now and customers can’t login to the app? Come on give me a break

Spent over 40 minutes trying to add a bag. Had to call customer service twice. To add a bag, it’s under change/cancel. Then if you don’t pay immediately (which I didn’t because there as no confirmation of the payment) you are locked out of paying on multiple browsers across multiple devices.

I don’t understand why like every other airline app we can’t just stay signed in and have a tab to see our current, past, and future trips. This is a very primitive app that would really benefit from updates to match competitor’s apps.

I was already nervous about flying this airline no one has ever heard of before; with its skeptically low prices. I’m just trying to prepay for my carryon & THERE IS NOWHERE ON THE APP TO PAY. There’s also nowhere on the full website to pay. There’s hardly any info at about anything on the app or website….not feeling very confident about this flight….

I sure hope yo see some improvements to this app because right now it is pretty bad. I ought to be able to see the flight I booked when I sign in. And I also think that I shouldn’t have to sign in every time I use the app. I expect more functionality than what it currently offers.

The latest update will log me in, but then just leaves pulsing ghost boxes on the screen. 🫥 I also wish the app would truly “remember me”, not force me to manually enter credentials each time. I think the app is simple, easy to navigate, and well-designed (when it was functioning). I have enjoyed flying Avelo so far! A simple reward program would be appreciated— maybe if only for things like points toward baggage fees, or picking your seat. I appreciate this airlines! 🙂
