Let’s play a game: how many buttons should the user press before never getting a straightforward option for contacting tech support for help with the app? Seriously, how hard is it to add a button which shoots off an e-mail to the developers with user feedback or request for assistance? Here’s an annoying bug for you to humanely exterminate: when a user selects multiple prescriptions to refill (say, 3), but one of them has a different pickup date than the other two, the app currently presents all three prescriptions for each pickup date. The confirmation screen also shows that all three prescriptions will be available on both pickup dates. Surprises are fun and all, but it would be better to know exactly if I’m going to run out of a medication before the mystery fill date. Y’all know what I’m saying? Cheers!
I have a 12 pro max, always have the lastest OS, have used this app for a couple years now, and I also work on iOS apps for a living. On launch screen, if you backgrounded or force closed the app and reopen it later (say 20-30 days), it has a small popup that says the session expired and I was logged in. It autodismisses after like 5 seconds but you can't tap anything or interact with the app or dismiss the alert. If this was a subview placed on a clear dismiss-on-tap view it would be much more user friendly. Or even a small x button to close it? Then, any time I go to refill a prescription for the past few months, I can view the prescription and tap the request refill button and then it says the prescription info couldn't be found. One time out of the three the Bartells got the prescription, the other times it didn't. Stupid. Additionally, within the past 8 months, when a prescription was "ready for pickup" in the app, the local location didn't have it and said that happens when they update the status to say it was delayed/on hold. I had to sign up for texts to get alerts about this. When I review my Rx history, it isn't ordered chronologically which is really bizarre and non standard. Also, refillable prescriptions aren't put above ones that are not refillable for some reason? Confusing.
This app is bad. Whoever designed this should be ashamed of themselves. However it would be ok if they fixed two big things: 1. The login view is cumbersome. The message that tells me I’ve been logged out blocks all action. Why?? I have to sit there for several second just waiting for it to fade. I literally cannot do anything else. This is dumb. There’s no need to block all user action for this. Also the login process is SEVERAL iOS and iPhone hardware versions behind. Updating this would be nice. 2. Why the app fetches data as much as it does is beyond me. And how it handles fetching the data just dumb. So dumb. I’m a software engineer. I get what that app is doing. But there’s no reason why this cannot be accomplished is some better fashion. You do ANYTHING and the app fetches data. It’s incredibly annoying. And while this goes on for far, far too long, you can’t do anything. Nothing. You just sit there (or leave the app in total frustration and write a review like I am now). They should have it get new data when the user pulls down on the prescription list. The pull-to-refresh design is standard practice among iPhone apps. It it beyond me why this app doesn’t do this instead shutting down all user action to fetching data if you simply breathe on it. It’s wild. Every single time I have to sit there while the app fetches data I regret using the app. I hate this so much.
1. There is an unskippable "you have been logged out" screen which blocks you from logging back in for 10 seconds. I would rather use that time to log back in. 2. Pulling data can take a full minute. That's about ten times longer than it ever should take. It's been slower since the acquisition. 3. Since the Rite-Aid acquisition, many Rx show up without names or any information other than "this prescription is on file with your pharmacy." This wasn't a problem before. 4. Requesting a refill through the app brings up the same message as #3, so I need to call to figure out if it's ready for pickup. The pharmacists are awesome and usually have it ready in record time, but I shouldn't need to bother them to learn data that's already in your system. 5. The pharmacists are awesome, yes, and they are also underpaid and overworked. They deserve better treatment from their employer. 6. There is no difference in the app between "we're working on it," "it's almost ready," "your doctor made an error," and "it's too soon for your insurance to cover it." These should all be transparent so I can spend less time bothering the pharmacists. I'm looking for a new pharmacy. I hope I can get the pharmacists to switch with me.
I have had constant issues with this app. I would refill prescriptions and have them tell me the date they would be ready, only for me to call the day of to double check and see if they’re ready only for the pharmacist to tell me they had never been refilled. I’ve also noted that if you refill through the app the date it gives you is significantly longer from the date of refill request, compared to calling and talking to a pharmacist to refill. These issues could be a minor inconvenience, however this is a drug store and getting your vital medications on time is kind of important. I’m very frustrated for the pharmacists as often the stores are already under staffed and now they have to take time away to answer more calls making the under staffing issues worse.
The simple task of requesting a refill at a different Bartell location silently fails on the app. This is dangerous! It says “your refill request has been received” and neither the previous or new pharmacy have heard of it. It works fine using a web browser. The clunkiness for something you have to do once a month, or more, is not great. Open the app. Be notified that you were logged out for inactivity. Wait 5 seconds until the Log In button works. Press that. Press the touch ID button (why isn’t this just automatic?). Wait 15 seconds for your prescriptions to load. Tapped the wrong one and want to go back? Your filter got reset, and you have to wait 15 seconds to get your prescription list again.
Don’t trust the app to run like it should. Life and death
How can you have an app that is so glitchy and will it’s dealing with peoples medication one day late on one thing can cause my son not to have an EpiPen in his possession for his life-threatening peanut allergy on him at all times I ordered his medication with plenty of time before the expiration on his yearly EpiPen referral you guys didn’t fill it until after the date which then of course the prescription had expired and now my son is going to go at least three or four days with an expired EpiPen because your app did not fill it or let you guys know to fill it with enough time when I gave you more than enough time to fill it with a deadline. Fix the bugs to streamline an app that you guys push in store to make filling prescriptions more convenient.
This app and the service at my local pharmacy have gotten so bad it’s almost unbelievable. Trying to use the app to request refills no longer works, never goes through and then when I call in the prescriptions by phone and pick them up (which is a whole other story in and of itself) it still shows several in the app as “in progress” even though they were already picked up. The service has gone down hill so fast after the chain was bought by rite aid. I need to move my prescriptions to another pharmacy. (I tried deleting and reinstalling the app but it didn’t change anything). Don’t even get me started on the “pharmacists” at my local Bartells.
Every time I open the app I have to click “log in” then I have to hit Touch ID. First, when you open the app it should go straight into the log in info. Second, update the app to accept Face ID. Third, why can’t the app stay singed in like my other apps? I will say this is still faster than the 30 step process to order over the phone from you guys... Honestly, this kind of stuff makes me turn to other companies with better apps/ websites. I stick with Bartell’s because I love the people who work at my pharmacy. They’re honestly the best pharmacy people in my town. Perhaps you should make your technology as good as the people who work for your stores.
Information hasn’t been displaying well since August 2021 when BartellDrugs Systems changes over to RiteAid pharmacy systems. Issues: • Multiple/duplicate prescriptions are now listed for medications - often unclear which needs to be archived. • When requesting a prescription the information displayed in the app (that it is ready) is sometimes incorrect - this may be unique to my local store there have been many issues in-store too. • Prompts for refills of medication just filled. • Request refills and then medications not requested are refilled in addition to those requested (If I request 5 refills I don’t expect to be told there are 7 waiting). Have declined to accept these “phantom refills”. With these recent issues, delays in prescriptions, etc we are looking for another pharmacy. Missing 3-5 days of a medication because of these issues is a roller coaster someone with chronic illnesses doesn’t need to ride. Terrible, fix the issues, and deal with problem pharmacies.
I use the app all the time, I find it very easy and quick. The one thing that bugs me is that there doesn't seem to be a way to get rid of old prescriptions. I have meds that I started at low dose and increased dose over time, and all the lower strength doses still show up in the app. Also have scrips showing up for meds that I tried and stopped. It would be great if I could delete or archive the old prescriptions. That would cut way down on the likelihood of errors.
So helpful to have all prescriptions in one list allowing me to scroll down to find the appropriate one to refill. Then it is as simple as a click and I am done. Also, telling me where the prescription is in the refilling process; In Progress of Ready For Pick Up is helpful. No more having to call and bother the Pharmacist. My only suggestion for improvement is to list the other name(s) by which the medicine is referred. (I.e. Acetaminophen AKA Aspirin).
I love it. There are two exceptions or items I think can be improved. 1)It’s a little slow getting back to the home screen when moving between looking at RX’s or selecting to refill or archive. 2)I have a new email address and it directs me to change the address at my pharmacy. I wish there was a way to do it online as they are busy at the pharmacy and it’s difficult to remember to take the time to do it while I’m there in person.
my only issue is it’s difficult to have to remember yet another password and login each time. I’m sure that makes sense, it is a pharmacy dealing with medication, but nonetheless it’s a bit of a pain. it’s great, however, to have an app that remembers all my medication and how many refills I have and to just have to tap to refill.
Bartell’s recently updated their online prescription ordering feature and the app and website are now not useable. Consistently shows you have zero remaining prescriptions or negative prescriptions. Every time you try to order the app will say it has to contact a doctor. As it stands now, you will have to call the pharmacy and talk to a pharmacist just to get an order placed. In this day and age of a pharmacy on every street, an unusable app/web ordering function essentially makes the pharmacy not effective. I’m going to move my prescriptions elsewhere.
Many times I go to use this app and it has stopped working. Updates to either the app or the iOS do not help. Very frustrating because being able to handle prescriptions via an app saves so much time. On top of that, Bartells has closed so many stores that if I go in and my prescription is not ready like I thought, I have already waited in line for a half hour because the stores left are short staffed. Company has really lost what made it my preferred pharmacy and drug store.
This app has glaring problems that will impact most users who use it for prescriptions. 1) Usually when you launch it, you are blocked from logging in until a modal popup times out. The popup is trying to inform you that your session expired and you’ll need to log in again. Very frustrating. 2) Its list of prescriptions is completely disorganized. Any time your provider needs to send a nee prescription, that’s treated like a brand new prescription unrelated to any existing ones. They aren’t sorted together, and you have to manually remove the old ones or else your list quickly becones unmanageable. Another problem may affect others less and is more about Bartell’s service than the app: I’m managing the prescriptions of 5 people and some have duplicates. The SMS notifications don’t always give enough information to know which person’s prescription is ready.
I used to love the Bartells app, and website, and still like what the store has to when I visit physically. App WAS great to refill prescriptions. I can still use the app, as well as the website for surfing products etc and purchase online, just not pharmacy related anything. However,!when attempting to log in to refill prescriptions a pop up says my internet has been disconnected. But when I go to other areas of the app I see everything. It’s been this way for a few weeks now. I’ll be switching to Walgreens from now on.
I find this app. really convenient for all my meds. Being able to see all my meds and how many refills are available is great. I really like the ability to see the process from start to finish. No more guessing when it’s ready is a real time saver too.
I hate the app. It logs you off, then when you open it next time they chastise you for not logging out manually and they make you stare at the message for a long time before you can enter your credentials again. Making matters worse, when you request a refill they’ll tell you a time out will be ready, but it’s NEVER been ready by the time they claim. I always have to wait while they fill it after I arrive even if I came a day or two late! Fix this app! I know it’s written by a third party. Maybe pay a modern company to write you a decent app!
It’s so quick. When I think about it being time to refill I can get it off my to do list immediately. Much prefer to call in automated system. Really wastes time. However most of my time is spent getting meds for other family members so it’s no help there since they are over 13.
It is so convenient being able to use the app to keep track of my medications. I know how many refills I have left and when it’s time to pick a prescription. I think it’s simple to use the app and very convenient. I prefer using the app than calling refills in to the store. Thank you BARTELL for offering this service.
Last month you were merging your main computer system with the company that bought you. My prescriptions was lost and my doctor had to call in new ones. Apparently the system is still not fixed because my renewal for current month is still not in the system. I’ve checked for new app or update; but I’m up to date. This is nonsense in the year 2021!
It says you go to the website to update personal information. I want to put in my address for delivery. I go to the website and cannot put in the address and it says call the local store and persons there cannot do anything on the computer and say I have to do it on the website… so I’m going in circles and getting nowhere and no help on this app~someone needs to fix it!
The most recent update of this app has made it completely useless. Before, it wasn’t great but I could at least see accurate info about prescriptions being ready and how many refills I have. Now, none of my old prescriptions are visible and my current prescriptions aren’t updating. I keep receiving text notifications that I have a prescription ready but I don’t know which one it is because the app doesn’t work.
The app works mostly okay but would be nice if it had a couple of additional features; like, for example, a reminder when you need to talk to your doctor again to renew refills and when you might be running out. Just to name a few
This morning I tried to refill a prescription at 9:15 am on a Sunday. It is available on 3/24 and the date is 3/24. I can only assume that the pharmacy hasn’t opened yet and that’s why I cannot refill it. Can’t this app be programmed to take the refill when the date changes at midnight? Everyone knows that they won’t fill it until the pharmacy is open.
The app is great for filling prescriptions (way easier than the phone call) but I have to log in by typing my password every time bc it only has Touch ID login, not FaceID. There also seems to be a major delay between when your Rx is ready for pickup and when they send the link to be able to get it delivered through Nimble.
lots of annoying bugs, especially the notification feature when trying to track your prescription filling progress and if it’s ready to be picked up, which is the only thing I use the app for! You will get better results just using the mobile website on safari, chrome, etc.
The system the app retrieves data from isn’t connected with the orders in the store. Therefore, when I request my refills at a certain time, they’re never ready at the time the app allows for me to select. It’s extremely frustrating. I am about to move my prescriptions to another pharmacy primarily because of this app and it’s inability to give me an accurate time of when my prescriptions will be ready.
This app is ridiculously slow! It forces you to refresh constantly, it doesn’t allow you to delete old prescriptions, you can’t request to transfer to a different Bartells through the app, nor can you easily sort. Since there’s been a system update, it’s even worse! All of my prescriptions are inaccurate in terms of number of refills and location.
When I tried to click app support I was routed to the main Bartells site. Pay and Go functionality isn’t working. Overall the app is good in theory but poor in execution and it seems like half the time you can’t actually order refills without calling and Pay and Go doesn’t work.
I’ve been using this app for about 3 years. Started out a little rough but they worked out the kinks and it works wonderfully. Between this app and the Round (medication reminder) app, my life has been simplified!
The app was always pretty clunky, but now it barely works. Prescriptions often don’t show as ready, even when they are. Refill requests never get to the store. Everything about Bartell’s has gone downhill since being purchased by Rite-Aid. They should either fix the app, replace it with the Rite-Aid app, or junk it. This is nearly useless. Update June ‘24: App no longer works. No prescriptions on file, and no alternative app…
All the messages I receive are “Title” with an exclamation point surrounded by a yellow triangle and do not contain a message. Many of my prescriptions just say “Prescription is on file, please call the pharmacy to have it filled.” It does not show what the prescription is for, only the prescription number so I don’t know if I need it or not. In the end, the app is just bait to force you to call the pharmacy.
This app is seriously not worth it. I have tried to refill my prescription here multiple times, and it says my request was processed but when I call or check online, I see that this is false and have to do it all over again. Sometimes my prescriptions also randomly disappear and I have to then wait for them to show up again. Not very helpful when I need an RX number.
Seriously, why give the user a screen-freezing non-dismissable popup that lasts *for three seconds* informing the user that they have been logged out EVERY TIME THE APP IS LAUNCHED? Additional comment about your annoying app that you never update: Why is a face/touch ID prompt not the *FIRST* thing that occurs when I launch the app? You make a previously-logged in user wait 3 seconds, then push a button to promp ID verification. This is a terrible user experience.
I appreciate that BartellDrugs had an app. However, it’s a bit clunky. It’s slow and when I open it I have to wait for it to tell me I’ve been logged out so I can log in again and then it takes forever. Anything you do in the app takes a while to load. So there are improvements to be made.
This app works well to do basic Rx refills. It would be very useful to have the ability to view additional info like the pertinent dates (Rx original date, last fill date, and quantities filled. Also, the brand & generic are shown only part of the time, not always. Thanks!!
I really like this app. It's intuitive, easy to use and gives me live updates on whether or not my prescription is ready to pick up. Saves time so I don't have to call to initiate a refill.
I have many scripts to manage unfortunately and with this app it’s easy to do that. I also love that I get a text reminder that they are filled and ready for pickup. I have used this app for years.
Generally I like this app. However, often when I’m trying to get a refill, the app tells me a refill isn’t available until x day. That’s ok, I understand about insurance and all, but why can’t I schedule a refill for that day? I can’t even request a refill until the day after the app says it’s available.
Is this app no longer in working order? It feels like ever since Rite Aid purchased them they threw this app out, it doesn’t communicate with anything. It just shows all my prescriptions as pending and eventually I have to call them in. Some have been pending for months. It was crummy the first time before I realized it wasn’t working and waited very long time to get my prescriptions.
No problems with the app so far (been using for a couple months). I find it especially useful for managing prescriptions and locating stores (with all their contact info easily accessible).
I try to keep my money local, so Bartell’s has the best service and selection while still keeping things in the NW. This app saves me plenty of time and effort in ensuring my prescriptions are there when I need them.
When you moved to a different location our RX did not move with you. We needed to come in to change from one RX number to another. More than annoying to make 2 trips to obtain RX that should have transferred within your system. I’m sure you rec’d lots of complaints about this.
Somewhere along the line I stopped getting text notifications from Bartell drugs, but in recent months I am now getting phone calls for each and every prescription EVERY day until I am able to pick them up. It is total insanity to get that many calls a day for 3-6 days. How do I turn off phone calls? How do I turn texts back on?
