I was not able to go back to Spain because of the COVID-19 and my debit card was expired. I called the Customers services many times and they were not able to ship it to me to Tunisia because the manager of my account asked that I should go personally and pick it up. I am 5 months now without a debit card and I don’t know how to make everyone in BBVA understand that I can’t enter to Spain now since there’s restrictions on international travelers. I really need help to get my debit card shipped to me. Thanks !

Replace SMS OTPs, and it’d be top notch

My only criticism, like that of other reviewers, is of BBVA’s SMS-based OTPs. Security experts have long established they are not secure. Please replace SMS OTPs with users’ choice of app-based TOTPs, Fido keys, and possibly in-app confirmation if you can figure out how to implement that without exposing users to “fatigue” attacks that affected the Microsoft Authenticator app. See Google and Github for good examples of managing user authentication. Other than that, my experience has been great. The staff at my branch on Ave Diagonal here in Barcelona has been great. Most of them speak English and are patient with my broken Spanish. (I’m trying not to be one of those entitled Americans who assumes the whole world ought to speak my language but not the other way around.) The app has an English mode. While I’m perfectly happy to lose a few euros over a misunderstanding at the grocery store, I have a much lower tolerance for risk when it comes to interactions with my bank, so that’s very reassuring. Also, I love how easy it is to pay for things. Apple Wallet integration is excellent. Setting up automatic payments for rent to a private individual is also way easier than in the US, which is effectively still stuck with paper checks. So far, it’s been one of my best banking experiences.

This App is horrible as BBVA Is

If you are not living in Spain and have no “validated” phone which means a phone totally controlled by BBVA ( forget your privacy ). They will ask to install a BBVA keyboard which will give them total control of the phone, all your passwords, everything you type it will belong to them. So , if don’t have validated phone and number in Spain by office located in Spain you will not longer have access to your account. They gave me access for short time without validated phone ,but when I started to claim the return of money charged illegally by (Clasula Suelo) They restricted again the access. This bank is a mirror of the authoritarian regime in Spain. The customer service is horrible. I have been calling, explaining, Nada! Olvídalo. Stay away from BBVA and App too. Don’t even update the app because you will loose features.

Terrible app, terrible bank

This is the worst banking app I’ve ever used, and the worst bank I’ve ever banked with. I’ve lived in 8 countries in the Americas, Europe and Africa, so I have a lot of banking experiences to compare with BBVA. They spam customers with emails about products (lines of credit, mortgages, etc.) but when ALL their ATMs and digital services are down, which has happened twice this year, they are silent. The app is not user friendly and the interface is clunky and old-fashioned. Finally, and this is the worst part, the bank staff are super rude with massive bad attitudes. And they only serve customers in person from 8-11am! Only 3 hours! Their client service is just atrocious. I once was traveling outside of the EU and they blocked my card to “prevent fraud” in the middle of my trip—even tho I had warned them I was traveling (and had already been traveling for some weeks!) I called and verified my information, but because I couldn’t receive an SMS on my Spanish number since I was out of the EU, my card remained blocked for the remainder of my vacation, which was a huge inconvenience. BBVA erroneously believes that measures like this prevent fraud, when in reality they just make for a terrible user experience.

Still SMS confirmation, really?

The app is good and works great. So I won't give too many details. Anyway, if you are a BBVA customer, that is the one that have. I am surprised however to see that SMS messages are still used for two factor authentication and operation confirmation. My other two banks have issued auxiliary apps that provide secure confirmation. It is cheaper for the bank (yes companies that send massive amounts of texts still pay the carrier) and less annoying for customers. Also avoids charges when roaming

Difficult for non-Spanish speakers.

I’m an expat and my Spanish is limited so I understand that certain aspects are going to be difficult, however the language settings need to be updated. The English translation can be bizarre at times and non-existent at others.

Used to be good

Deficiencies: a) My account was blocked without warning. I’m required to add a KYC document. I CAN’T LOCATE ON THE APP WHERE THIS SHOULD BE UPLOADED; b) now they prompt their own ads to sell you stuff when you’re logging out, and there’s no way to opt out from these irritating and cumbersome extra steps.

Good but needs notifications

This app is very enjoyable to use. The user interface is pretty and the functionality of the app is great. I really like that I can view all of my debit card info from within the app. The only thing I wish it had was custom push notifications. For example I would like to be notified when I receive a transfer, or a charge was made for xx amount.

Mi nombre es Daniel y llevo viviendo en USA 4 años. He intentado cambiar mi domicilio fiscal y teléfono a través de la web varias veces sin ningún éxito. Los gestores s BBVA solo me sugerían que llamara por teléfono, a lo que no estaba dispuesto debido a los costes de llamadas internacionales. Ojalá alguien me hubiera dicho que desde la app me costaría menos de 5 minutos. También quiero destacar a una Gestora que tuve por un corto lapso de tiempo llamada Maria Ines Garcia Perez. Me ayudó tan poco que en algunos momento dudé si era un bot (escribía siempre en mayúsculas por ejemplo). Chat GPT mal es poco. Si alguna vez tenéis oportunidad de averiguar que tipo de trabajo hizo esa mujer en la entidad, quizá os haría replantear vuestros procesos de selección. Jamás he visto a alguien tan incapaz en un puesto similar.

Mejor app de banco

La verdad es que sin duda es la mejor app. Tengo cuenta en otros bancos, por lo que uso más de una app, y me parece que es la más completa. Además su diseño está muy bien pensado. La verdad es que es muy fácil de utilizar y tienes todo dentro de una sola aplicación (no como otros bancos que necesitas más de una para hacer diferentes operaciones) La única pega que le pondría (por ponernos exigentes) es que sería útil poder validar un dispositivo móvil y poder hacer una especie de firma digital para proceder a realizar algunas operaciones, en lugar de requerir la clave por sms. Lo comento porque me ha ocurrido que estoy fuera de la Unión Europea, no tengo acceso a mi número asociado a la cuenta y no puedo realizar algunas operaciones (si ya existe una solución para esto, pues retiro lo dicho, pero personalmente no la conozco!) Del resto mantengo mi posición de que esta app es un éxito.

Robo + Falta de respeto

La comisiones trimestrales del banco son absolutamente abusivas para los servicios precarios que ofrecen. En la app puedes hacer visita previa con un gestor quien nunca te llama. La cita no queda registrada en la app.

Por un tiempo no pude acceder a mi cuenta desde fuera de España porque nunca me llegaba el mensaje con el código de doble verificación. A pesar de que he cambiado el número de teléfono en la web y ha quedado registrado. Dejé algunos mensajes por ahí perdidos en las valoraciones cada vez que conseguía hacer una transacción y lo comenté en una videollamada de atención al cliente y ahora sí que funciona perfectamente. No sé dónde estaba el problema ni cómo se solucionó pero ahora todo funciona bien y la app está bien.

La app(y la web) bbva no te deja tener contraseñas seguras son muy cortas y con pocos caracteres , no le veo sentido a que lo capen por defecto a poca seguridad.

Inconvenientes

Para confirmar operaciones ellos aplican un sistema de seguridad mediante mensaje de texto a un teléfono celular español por lo tanto si sales fuera de España y por cualquier circunstancia pierdes ese número de teléfono tu cuenta personal deja de ser accesible para ti, ya no podrás hacer transacciones ni ver tus saldos de cuenta…tienes un número pin tienes el fingerprint tienes un email todo ello asociado a tu cuenta pero además tienes que confirmar con un mensaje de texto 😐 😤 no todo son ventajas.

Bien pero...

Buena app en general. Mi única crítica (es más hacia el banco que a la app) es que se deberia tener como opción enviar los códigos de seguridad al correo electrónico y no sólo al móvil como es en la actualidad. No siempre el móvil esta disponible, a la mano, etc. Si no fuera por ese inconveniente, le diera las 5 estrellas.

Me ha funcionado, pero me parece estupido que cuando estoy en otro continente me llegue un número al teléfono de España que lo tengo congelado precisamente por que estoy en otra parte del mundo. Entonces no puedo hacer las compras que necesito. Debería de tener opciones para dos teléfonos mínimo

La aplicación es mala y el banco es peor

Les recomiendo que busquen otro banco. Aparte de una application mala, donde no tienen ni la opción de la doble identificación, hay que esperar horas para que te atiendan en las sucursales y sus productos no son competitivos. Aparte de tener comisiones desorbitadas. Les pongo una estrella porque no tiene media estrella.

Por fin BBVA España tiene un aplicación móvil de banca en condiciones. Sólo falta que su aplicación BBVA Wallet también este disponible para descargar en Apple Store mundial, no sólo en Apple Store España. Hay varios clientes que lo usaríamos.

Proceso de alta cliente erróneo

No funciona bien el proceso de alta de cliente. No deja descargar la documentación del proceso, solo la muestra, ni luego se recibe por email. Y cuando acaba el proceso no hay un botón de finalizar, se corta la videollamada y se queda en esa pantalla.

Esta app es un chiste. Muy mala, pues lo único q uno quisiera es acceder a sus cuentas a través de ella, pero eso no es posible. Yo tengo cuentas en y las Apps de American express y de Citibank y en ambas no solo puedo ver mis cuentas sino también operar con ellas, haciendo transferencias y todo otro tipo de operaciones.
