Walmart inventory - a big component of the app - is down. Whether it be Walmart or Brickseek; it’s Brickseek issue ultimately (can’t blame Walmart). They say cancel membership until its resolved but they don’t refund so you still pay for the month for a partially functioning app. Yes there are other aspects of the app but charging users full price for even 90% of your product isn’t right. 100% payment requires 100% functionality in my mind and others. Love the app when it works.
As a daily, extreme user of brickseek, and a committed subscriber to their premium services, I feel compelled to express my deep dissatisfaction with the latest update. The new navigation scheme is not just unintuitive; it’s a significant step backward in user experience. It seems evident that this update was insufficiently tested, if at all, with real users who rely on brickseek for their daily tasks. A beta rollout to a select group of users could have prevented many of these issues by gathering essential feedback on usability. Furthermore, the lack of an option to refrain from auto-updates or revert to the previous version exacerbates the situation. That earlier version was, without exaggeration, a hundred times easier to navigate. This update feels like a classic case of “fixing” something that wasn’t broken, to the detriment of your most loyal users.
This used to be a great way to find deals, but only because of the infinite variety available. It's now locked down beyond any usefulness, and seemingly deliberately hard to use in order that you can't get to what used to be useful. I wanted to say that I'll never buy an app that takes away free features to make them premium, because the trust is gone and I'll expect them to charge more for them later instead of innovating something new when they want more money. But the paid membership seems to be just as bad from the reviews. This app is no longer worth the 60mb it's taking up on my phone.
So I understand why they force you to have an account and login so they can collect data to sell and make enough money to stay in operation. But now restricting you to only selecting two stores in some cases? And the app makes it impossible by any practical means to change your location if you want to search for a region where you may be traveling. This is just about the most convoluted useless app I’ve run across in the past few years. Come on guys, you can do better because in the past you did!
As the title say, the app is all but useless after the last update. Would honestly give 0 stars if I could. Both the user interface and the actual functionality have taken several steps backwards. Its now worse than what you’d expect of a free app, much less one with a paid membership. Worse still, they are now charging for “add-ons” to get some of the same features my paid membership previously included. I won’t be paying for long if they don’t fix it.
Terrible. I’m not understanding the 10 steps backwards they took with this “update.” I don’t know one person that used brickseek to search between 2 stores.. the draw to this app was the ease of searching neighboring towns, vacation destinations, etc. I definitely don’t have a need for this app anymore. If I’m limited to my 2 closest stores.. well, I frequent them enough.. Not useful. Such a shame. Maybe someone will come out with a similar app and not jack it up the way this one has.
This USED TO BE an awesome app to browse through, navigating WAS easy, categories WERE available to select. The update completely sucked the value and purpose out of the app. Now, the “preview” doesn’t match what the actual app experience is like, which WAS great. It’s dull and you only get to see what is offered “daily”. It’s not an overall free browsing experience anymore. It’s definitely an unfortunate update. Sad that it’s “their biggest update yet” because it’s a flop in my opinion.
What happened… I haven’t used the app in a while and I come back and there’s literally no way to use the app based on stores now. All I can see is “Daily Deal Schedule” and if I want to look for store inventory that function is no longer available. I used to browse what my local Walmarts had in stock to see if there were any good clearance items. Trying to look for items is now a big mess as doing so will rarely result in anything.
What in the world happened to this app? I can’t navigate to anything truly useful. The home page only shows “deals” that are sales prices I can easily find on my own and it’s limited to one or two categories that are predetermined, not what I’m actually interested in seeing. Just seems weird. Not worth the space it’s taking on my phone. Sorry to see it go.
I enjoy Brickseek and will randomly subscribe to their lowest tier of $9.99. The navigation was fairly straightforward and did what it was intended to do. I don’t know why they attempted to “streamline” the app but I don’t even use it anymore because I have no clue how to navigate any deals. Take it back to the old version please!
John O’Keefe, on Facebook and employed by Brickseek, is doubling down on the belief that customers are wrong about their feedback regarding this new, but terrible, update. This stance is very telling of the company's future. Not only does he deny and shutdown their feedback, but he outright claims that Brickseek won’t revert to their previous working methods, regardless of how much people complain.
I barely logged in after not using the app for a while and I was very confused as to why it’s so bad. The menu is gone, you can navigate the app unless you specifically search for a product, and the way the searches are formatted doesn’t help compare any results
This most recent update absolutely ruined the app. You used to have multiple categories to browse and now you’re limited to one category a day that’s predetermined with like 5 listings in it.
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that dislikes the update. Makes it much harder to use, and honestly I used to check it almost every day. Now I dread using it at all.
I used BrickSeek daily and now I’m contemplating deleting my account. The newest update is absolutely horrible. If it’s not broke don’t fix it! It was perfectly fine the way it was!
Before, I had to go onto chrome app as it would have to sync my brickseek with my computer and it was a big hassle to navigate. In my opinion, the brickseek app is BETTER than the web version. As a user of the highest tier subscription, this is an absolute game changer and well worth the wait. Beautiful interface, extremely easy to navigate, quick loading times on searches, and an overall great user experience. Thank you developers for making such a great app!
Amazing concept not good execution. The deals are real and true but the app is missing a lot of UI improvements and basic features. The most annoying has to be having to type in your location every time you need to search near by, and also the fact you need to click on three screens to finally show the results. There’s no option to save items to compile them into a list to save for later. But still good website and I like the fact you can click once to go to the associated app for the product and it searches for it automatically.
When this app was first introduced it was amazing. Sure a lot of improvements in UI would’ve made it better but i did what it said. Found deals. Then Walmart stopped inventory tracking. Out of their control but app still had some good features like “show in Walmart” button to help give an idea of what the item looked like. Also the generate barcode feature was great because you could ask employees to scan and find the item you needed. Now present day both these features are gone as well. No longer worth the membership prices at all. You’re better off joining a group on Facebook or discord.
So far I love it!! It’s just like the browser but in a convenient easy to navigate app. The description concisely summarizes all of the magic this program/service can do. Up until now I had a shortcut to the browser saved on my phone. This is that but better! Hats off to John, any other co-developers, and the admins/moderators that run the FB group! (This is what other stores THINK their apps be doing! *looking at you WM*)
If it’s going to be viable, a few more items to filter searches would help. **Like to search for deals in my area!!! Or tell which locations where these supposed great deals are actually located. Also, is it really necessary to post each size individually & it would help if the size was in the title, visible before clicking to see more info. Honestly, I’ve NEVER actually found something instore that I found on here first. What a waste of time & energy!!
BrickSeek itself is great. The problem I have with the app is that you can’t search only for deals on a certain product. For example you type “laptop” in the search bar, it shows hundreds of laptops even at everyday prices. There’s no option to only show markdowns and deals like you can on the website.
All this app does is show false deals that don’t exist. I’ve had this app for a few months now and I don’t think 1 advertisement has been correct. Don’t waste your time with this app. Just do a Google search of the item you’re looking for and go to the shopping tab. You’ll get away more accurate prices. Don’t v waste your time looking through this app…it’s CRapp.
I've only used the app for a few days, and only the local inventory checkers. Walmart and Target work great. CVS crashes the app with a white screen whenever I do a check, on my iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 15.2.
This is worth the trash, I can’t believe I spend my entire day traveling 100 miles between stores and not finding even single deal advertised by this crap. If there was a easy way to sue this stupid I would have done that first thing. Don’t waste your single dime on this crap and don’t waste your time trusting deal published on this app.
Allegedly this app shows all of the biggest deals on the market. Too bad the deals were last year or later. Not a single item that I came across was actually available anywhere I looked. It’s just a way for some random company to get access to your data.
If you could get the app from freezing after each search of a product it would probably be worth it. You have a cool concept, just a bummer it dose t work to well
Heard about this app from a friend that uses it heard it was a good app to download and try but as of right now deleting it cause it won’t allow me to make a account says error try again later so that for me will be much later deleted 😒
The 30 secs to make a acct is easy, you guys need to add more stores. I get some stores my block outside inv check but you only have 4 stores in the list.
The idea is superb, but inventory checkers bring down for days at a time while still charging $10/mo is an immoral practice. Not impressed. Walmart inventory checkers have been down for days now and no indication when it’ll be fixed and I’m fed up.
I cannot log into the app, can use the desktop version just fine but it always tells me my username/password is wrong on the app, even after resetting to make sure it’s not user error.
I paid for the subscription but the app is so slow it just loads and unusable. Good concept but not worth $10 per month if it never loads when I need it to work.
Used to be a great service, however now it’s just hype. They are claiming to be doing “enhancements”, don’t buy into the lies. If you post ANYTHING negative they will block you, they can’t handle feedback.
