AWESOME App (no they didn’t pay me to say this XD)

I was unsure of using the app at first because it looked a little sketchy but I tried my hand at a few auctions and they do an amazing job!! It definitely takes a moment to understand the layout and time difference for auction timings but once I understood it was simple. Hats off to Buyee staff! My items arrived quickly and in exceptional packaging and quality so I was sure they took care in handling my items. My only qualms are about some of their prohibited items. I personally don’t understand why jewelry and coins are prohibited. Otherwise I am perfectly happy with the service and care of Buyee handlers and service. Would 10/10 recommend!!!

Ok but lots of room for improvement

Most people are probably better off using their browser on mobile or on a desktop if possible and I’ll explain why. Notifications you get on your phone do not default to your language but appear to be randomly selected; I believe I’ve seen Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, etc but never English. Probably 80% of the time when you click on a notification it opens and immediately crashes the app so you have no idea what the notification was for since it’s not in your language. The language translation options of Yahoo Japan auctions are only shown when you click on the more info description vs pretty much every page when accessing from your browser. Lastly, the app is extremely slow to load pages vs just accessing from a browser even on mobile. There is lots of room for improvement.

Needs improvement

Listen, I like buyee, I want to see them do well, and they do, for the most part, but their mobile app is just embarrassing. The pages load extremely slowly, I get logged out and have to manually type my email and password nearly everytime I close the app, and frequently the app crashes. The web browser version has none of these problems (minus complaint 2, but it is much quicker to login on with a full physical keyboard and mouse than a mobile keyboard), and it’s not viable for a good mobile app. I hope they do a complete redesign in the near future, because it feels like a web browser port, than a dedicated mobile app. When it does work though, it’s really handy to have available, it follows a similar UI to the web browser version so I’m able to easily find what I’m looking for.

Easy to use and great for bulk sales/rare items

As far as proxy buying services go, I’m relatively new. This being said Buyee was very user friendly as far as searching through and finding just what I needed. I found a great deal for a large quantity of rare toys on Japan’s Mercari website and was astounded at how fast the package came to me! This being said it should be noted that shipping is fairly high. It’ll get to you with little hastle but expect to pay a pretty penny getting it to you. They’ll also charge a little fee for inspection and other services (I believe it was only approx 5$ extra though). I’m planning on reselling quite a few of these items to my friends to recoup some money but honestly for an avid collector needing a proxy, I would recommend this service 100%

Theres things that don’t make sense..

I have been using this app for 2 years. My first 2 purchases were amazing and then my next purchases were a mess. I wanted this item, but it was listed as “prohibited” because it’s was not allowed to ship to the U.S, but in reality it wasn't prohibited (it was a car part). It was purchased and shipped from a friend of mine from japan to me and it passed customs like no other. I also had a purchase that got shipped to their warehouse and then claimed it to be prohibited last minute so I had have them ship it to my friend in japan and then ship it again to me. It also passed custom again. They list things as prohibited when it is not. Be ware for these things to happen. If you have family/friends who live in japan (NOT APA), they can get things for you without paying the expensive fees.

This is my go to

As a collector of Japanese figures and games, this is always my go to for bidding and buying in general for products in Japan. They give you a broad range of delivery options, and they always delivered with care. I’ve messaged the customer service over simple questions or explanations, and they are always kind and fast at responding. My only problem is that they don’t have an auto translate (that I know of), which is fine, with a quick google search you’ll get the words you are looking for, and they give you a way of saving the specific word just in case you don’t find biddings for it and want to search it up later on the line.

I love it!!!

This app is amazing. The stores, the shipping services and the customer service. It’s my 3rd time buying and never had a problem. You do have to be careful with the processing, plan, shipping and consolidation fees. Once you get the hang of those, you’ll know that it’s worth it. Also, the customer service is amazing, they answer the next day (you have to take in mind they are in japan and have a different time zone, so they aren’t going to respond in THAT second). And if the item goes out of stock, they give you your refund really quick.

It's Like eBay but Easier to get Scammed On

Tried the app for the first time last night and bid on some authentic-looking items only to find out that Buyee won't help you if you receive a fake or get scammed at all. They also don't disclose how much shipping will actually cost. I've sent things and purchased things internationally before from various countries including Japan, and I've never ever seen shipping as expensive as on Buyee. I'm guessing they're taking profits from the "shipping fee" in addition to the other fees they already charge you when you buy an item. When I tried to reach out to cancel the bids I had pending due to their policies, they refused to cancel them and told me I have to accept if I win. I then also learned that you get charged more and more if you don't pay their ridiculous shipping fees in time. It's been a terrible first experience.

I would rate even less if possible for this app

I have a really bad experience with them, I bought a bunch of contact lenses from them, And when they shipped to the US, the ups holded my package and needed the vendor information from the stores that I purchased, and Buyee did nothing about it instead they said if the packages return, they not going to refunded anything which is ridiculous, I used this app because I don’t know Japanese, they can helped us to communicate with the Japanese supplier and deliver the products that we purchased to us. But when something happened, they just stepped out of the problem and said you should provide those informations (the information Of the Japanese stores. The license etc.) yourself. Seriously, if I can read Japanese, I wouldn’t even need your service.

Great service!

I’ve been using buyee since 2020, on and off until a few months ago, I primarily use Mercari Japan, as someone who already loves using Mercari in the US, and this service is fantastic! It’s easy to use and find what I want. Although not all items are for sale, which is strange. The only bad thing I have to say is that the performance is a bit slow, I’m not sure if it’s a PC problem as well but it takes a little bit to load into things.

I love BUYEE!

I love love love this app, you have access to oversea countries and they make it so convenient and helpful to use the app. I love mercari japan because I can purchase items not found here in the states for a substantial lower price from individual sellers. They make the process so easy to use and to receive. I have purchased 3 items so far and everything has been smooth and perfect. Only con is the fees can be high and shipping cost, but other than that I plan to continue using. Need more coupons!!🧡🧡💛

Can be easily scammed!

“THEY DONT GUARANTEE AUTHENTIC ITEMS!” This is such a terrible app to buy things on the biddings don’t keep you up to time by the second only by the minute (makes it’s harder to bid). You can’t even contact the sellers before you decide to bid to ask any questions, instead you have to send Buyee a message to ask the seller which is really stupid! This app needs so much work it’s ridiculous I tried to buy something that said it had 3 minutes left and it didn’t go through, and what I was willing to pay was way past the price someone won it for. Absolutely trash app. Barely any Pokémon cards on here and all types of random products. (Stay away you have been warned fake items may come your way).

Shipping is Ridiculous

First after I bought the item, once it arrives to the warehouse, they’ll give me 30 days to pay off the customs of the package and if my 30 days are up. They’ll charge me extra. So I had to combined all of my stuff in 1 so all of my stuff will be shipped then the total came to $86 and I was shaking so much after I bought the shipping to deliver to the US & my house. Omg I feel so awful ima not use Buyee anymore. Not deleting it but oh my god. I can understand why so many people complain about Buyee is mainly because Of there shipping’s.

Not the best but works

This is the only site I’m able to get rare goods from, but they are wayyyyyy too expensive. I mean, it’s to be expected, so it’s not a huge deal. The big deal that I hate is their service. If a package is lost, they will take MONTHS to even try to solve the issue and make you do most of the work. So not only is the service extremely slow, but they are also very lazy. I never even got a complete refund, so I basically gave them money for no reason. I wouldn’t recommend this site unless there’s something you absolutely want, but just be prepared for high prices and horrible service if something goes wrong

Trash for new users

I can’t tell you wether or not the shopping on here is good or not, but the app is absolutely useless for new users and here is why. I have never used their website before since I didn’t even know it existed until after finding the app. When I opened the app it only has a Log In option. There is no Sign Up option. You can not make an account through the Log In option. If you do not already have an account with them, then you can not sign in to the app at all. This is basic app stuff. Why wouldn’t you have a Sign in option for people to create an account? It is completely useless for new users. It is very disappointing.

Just Use the Website

This app is literally the same as the website, but it is much slower to load obsoletely anything. You are better off using the website. You find that some of the functions do not even work, like a drop-down menu that won’t drop down or a button that won’t let you click on it.

Very limited on what I can buy

Being that I import cars, I need to import parts and supply parts for customers. Well Buyee quite literally prohibits any car parts from being shipped. Simple things such as break pads and rotors or suspension components. Like what’s the point of telling me I can buy just about anything from Japan (according to advertisements this would technically be considered false advertising) and then say no to everything I NEED to buy. Now having to outsource and get other companies to ship since Buyee doesn’t want business or even getting my friends in Japan to go out of their way to ship parts for me. This is absurd and a HUGE inconvenience for my business.

Fix the chat bugs

I really like that you guys have an app for this website as it makes online shopping/browsing much more accessible now that I can look through it anytime I want with my phone. However, I like to chat and ask questions with the agents quite frequently and the keyboard always glitches in the way of the chat bubble, so I cant see what I’m typing. It makes it especially difficult to send them links to the item when they need it. So please fix the chat glitches

Buyee

Buyee is a fantastic proxy service. Fees are cheaper than other trusted services. money conversion to yen is done after purchasing so bidding on yahoo is mostly stress free. Coupons come up here and there that save large sums of money. Great for buying Hatsune Miku and Touhou ぬいぐるみ　✌︎('ω')✌︎. Shipping prices are expensive, but average for Shipping to countries outside Japan, especially since they primarily offer fast options like DHL express, EMS and ECMS. You get your items in less than a week on average. Faster than buying something from Texas.

A lot of fake Pokémon cards at yahoo auction

For Pokémon cards on yahoo auction. Got some bid on item and was outbid by other buyers. Then I bid on something else. Then I was told I won the item????? Also cannot easily leave a review for the seller so hard to tell which one is legit. Need to have systems to put reviews so we can warn other buys on certain scammer sellers. I guess I will use my 400+ dollars to buy a huge lesson. Want to give my kids really awesome Christmas gift and turns out those sellers on yahoo auction pretty much all scammers. See whether can get my money back. But most importantly to have way to review buyers on Buyee should be essential. So please be AWARE!!!!!

Favorite site out there!

I love the website and the app! I’ve found so many cool items for dirt cheap using this app. Stuff like Kaws, BAPE, Pokémon cards and a lot more! They have the fastest and most reasonable priced shipping around!! I’m talking like 2 days from Japan to the East coast! Amazing site with access to shop so many different sites and third party platforms like Mercari japan and the yahoo auctions!! I love you Buyee!!!

BE CAREFUL !! SO UPSETTING

I’ve been using Buyee for a very long time, I purchased an item on Mercari for $380 and chose the “lite” plan thinking I wasn’t going to have any issues because the seller had a 5 star rating Turns out, the seller shipped the wrong item, and item was not as described. Now Buyee won’t issue any refund, and I basically just lost $380 WONDERFUL POLICY, be aware when using LITE plan.. that you will NOT receive a refund for any item purchased. Not to mention, BUYEE customer service is absolutely horrible. Typical Japan people, scamming people out of their hard earned money UPDATE: purchased 3 towels on Mercari jp, and the cheapest shipping was $74!! What a rip off, SERIOUSLY.

Expensive shipping

while the app it’s self is great, very user friendly and easy to navigate, please be aware that some of the prices for international shipping are EXTREMELY HIGH. i ordered a package weighing 2,420g and the CHEAPEST shipping available was $26. now, while these prices are reasonable considering it is coming from japan, you should still be aware of how expensive things can really be.

Love it!

Fabulous app! I can order certain brands and items from Japan that I normally would not be able to otherwise. Great app especially if you are into certain street fashions. The app also has access to certain skincare and makeup brands I like. It is great that you can store items and have them shipped out in a package together.

Blanks out a lot

The service in itself is great along with the notifications, BUT it does have a tendency to, not so much as freeze up, but just stay on a blank white screen, that or I wouldn’t be able to click on anything and only scroll. It happens so often even when I pull the app up after a while, making me force quit just to get it working again...

Please fix this crazy app!

First of all, I love Buyee and the service that this company provides is awesome, but this app is absolutely horrendous to use!! Here are some suggestions on improving the app. 1. Speed: given that speed is an important factor to auctions, they need to improve the lag as much as they can. 2. Better filtering options: would be great to have the additional filtering options that are available on their website but not on the app, such as price range. Also I would personally like it if I have the option filter out certain sellers that spam postings or certain items that buyee has already decided that we cannot buy due to low seller ratings or restrictions. 3. “Forbidden” page bug: you know what this is if you used this app. 4. Combined search: maybe there can be a way to search different platforms they support on buyee like yahoo auctions, mercari, and etc.. Thanks!

Great for first time collectors

Great app. Super convenient if you are just getting into japan yahoo auctions and frequent purchases. Consolidation process is helpful. Please fix the chat bubble. I no longer have the chat feature on the app. I’d like to be able to ask sellers wgg be en they plan on shipping. It’s been 2 weeks.

Hidden fees

The hidden fees are within the exchange rate. If you’re spending a few hundred , do the conversion on your web browser and compare it to the conversion that Buyee gives you. I didn’t know this until I was on my 5th purchase. They’ve taken about $500 in conversion markup fees and maybe more. I still like it and enjoy shopping with them.

I love to buy things from Japan especially on plarail items and always bought through Buyee app and web, it’s easy and convenient to use and always have promotions like free ¥XXXX international shipping fee, love it, it’s save and help to decide whether to bid or not, also get instant chat when you have problems or need help , great support team!! Otaku Heaven!

So many anime items from figures to tapestries are very hard to impossible to find, let alone for a decent price. eBay rarely has most and if they do the prices are insane. Thanks to Buyee I’ve been able to find and buy the anime loot I’ve been wanting for so long!

Accounts Get Wrongfully Terminated

I used this app once and soon noticed that my account was locked. I emailed support and it turns out not only did they terminate it but they won’t even give me a reason. Apparently I’m not the only one this has happened to. One google search showed that many accounts have been terminated with no reason given. I suggest not wasting your time with an all that can’t tell the difference between a benign and malicious account.

3000yan international shipping coupon was wasted.

I like Japanese action figure so much. And I do like buyee promotion coupon for 3000 yan off for international shipping cost. However, two days after I used the coupon with SAL shipping method and made my paid, buyee told me that the package is oversized for such shipping method. OK, then I was forced to pick another method with a higher cost and buyee would not re-issue my 3000yan off coupon because the promotion time is expired during last two days.

Notifications in Chinese

I’m very happy with being able to have the same functionality in the app that is on the website, but getting notifications in Chinese when the app is set to English is annoying. Notification language should follow the app language settings.

International shipping is too expensive

Great products but the fees and shipping costs are too high. $1,000 to ship empty boxes that I won for $25? It is way too much. As a reseller, I cannot make a profit on each box after paying all of the fees so I am having to discard the items. It makes me sad

Never use.

Laggy buggy slow app. Worst user interface. Worst customer service ever. I had issue with the order, They will ask the same pointless question that previous agent asked over and over and tell me to wait only to take days to say they can't do anything? unbelievable. They are infamous for reason just google it and you'll see tons of angry customers

No service for solving problem

I've used this app for a while. It was fine until problem problem comes up. They're not helping at all when you didn't receive your product in Japan locally. they charge you service fee for EVERY single payment, but only provide some useless customer service; the staff only tell you to wait but not doing anything to help.... So disappointed, I'm not gona use this app anymore....

Charged again and again and again

I bought 3 items through bidding but ended up paying for the shipping fee 5 separate times. Apparently it’s justified since one of the shipment failed (shipping charged for resending), and one of the packages was split into two (double shipping charge). Mind you, each shipping cost was $30+. I should never have used this app. Stay far away from this app if you want to spare your time and money.

Problems with login and searching.

I don’t know if it’s just me but my login will never stay. I will login and then it will log me out and it’s annoying. The search isn’t as good as Neokyo, whatever you search will come up accurate but will Buyee it doesn’t.

can’t even sign up

immediately within the 5 seconds of opening the app, it kept telling me to sign in. I refreshed the app and clicked the other icons around to try and find the sign up screen assuming I accidentally clicked something but, I haven’t. It seems like an overall good app but how do you even expect me to use it if I can’t even create an account on your platform?

AMAZING

Everyone has their own opinion but I’ve purchased most of my Godzilla collection through the buyee services and now using them for Evangelion ! Awesome and highly recommend !

Great app for shopping from Japan

Purchased a few things from Buyee and the service fees were acceptable. Their service are often pretty fast and the app gives promotions a lot of the times.

only works half the time

Unfortunately for me the app only works about half the time I would like to use it - maybe even less. When it does work it is a bit slow but it’s easy to navigate.

Excellent!!! BUT!!!

It’s an awesome app, my only issue is that I’m not getting notifications. I’m not sure if it’s a software fix but prior I was getting notifications and now I get none. Fixing that would mean the world!

VERY ANNOYING NOT USER FRIENDLY

I’ve been using buyee even before they have an app. The app problem is very obvious over and over its too glitchy always log out log in every few hours of when not using it. Its very annoying and frustrating especially when you’re n roll buying or bidding! It takes away the fun of it! Hire some legit IT experts! 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Just missing one thing
