The app is fun. It does a variable job depending on the background. I have had cases where human removed well and some where it was done poorly. Nonetheless it is fun to experiment. It would be better if you could save the resulting image some way other than having to quickly take a screenshot. It would also be neat if this could be applied to previously saved photos
I’ve tried this on about 20 photos from my photo library. Most of them fail with the message that there was a network error and couldn’t get mask (my network connectivity is not a problem here) and many of the others leave a big splotch as if I erased that section. The couple that did work were impressive but for me this app didn’t work enough to declare success or useful. There is no scenario where I would take photos from the app, everything would be from my photo library. I’ll keep trying especially as any updates come in (I have the latest version) but seems not quite ready for use.
Maybe I missed this in the rush of happiness at finding this app. It only works when you take a picture, in real time. In fact, it takes over as your camera, so if you like being able to set controls, it’s a dead end. Haven't used it yet, and likely won’t as I can’t apply its skills to any images already on my Camera Roll, you know, like you might want to. Kinda pointless for vacation photos if you need a live connection and will get charged for roaming by your carrier. Needs to have more thought put into it based on how people use their cameras today. Great idea, flawed execution and I lost 3 bucks to truly discover this. 😩
LOL It's great fun. For someone looking for a serious tool, this is probably going to be super frustrating, but anyone who can appreciate a quick to the punch art project that executes on a concept subverting typical photo apps will love it. I do! Stoked on the update for processing other images in my camera roll.
It really works. I’m glad I bought it. Random people in my photos are now quickly zapped. I was disappointed at when I first got the app because it didn’t work. I guess there was a bug. With an update, it works.
I buy apps from TechCrunch recommendations. Whoever wrote the article must have been paid to promote because the app DOES NOT WORK. First, it only offers a live camera. This means you CANNOT USE PHOTOS FROM YOUR PHONE as source photos. Who the heck would develop an app to remove people that cannot load photos from your phone? Second, the camera app was developed with the skill of an over-ambitious kindergartener: there are no controls. It’s the worst $3 that I have ever spent causing me to write my first scathing review ever!
I’m honestly not gonna lie this app actually works it will need some improvements but it works and totally recommend it for taking pictures without people being in them!
When trying to use, it says update available, please update... then goes to App Store when you click update. THERE IS NO UPDATE LINK! When you choose “open”, the App will actually work, but won’t update without constantly telling you to update and bringing you to the App Store. Tried deleting and reinstalling, but that didn’t work. HOW DO YOU UPDATE THIS APP? 😡
I hate looking at my wife. She hates looking at me. Now with the Bye Bye Camera App, we can finally take photos of each other. I framed one yesterday. My wife looks great and completely invisible. Thanks, Bye Bye Camera App!
Oh my god! WORST app ever! Pointless as is doesn’t do what it claims to do. When it actually detects a human it leaves a smudged ghost like picture behind. I tried it on simple backgrounds and very busy backgrounds- same result. Save your money. Download photoshop... their apps are FREE. And they work... unlike this terrible app that shouldn’t even be available for purchase. Apple- you should remove this app now!!
Zero controls on image taking, requests access to your photo folder yet can only modify live images taken with app and not in storage. Everything about the UI is awful, you stand a better chance of manipulating a security surveillance cam than your own phone while this app is open. Steer clear
Bought this app expecting to be able to edit existing photos on my camera roll, but the app only lets you edit pictures as you take them? Shame on me for making the assumption, but it seems pretty basic to be able to edit pics you have already taken? This isn’t an app. It’s a gimmick.
Extremely glitchy, often times will zoom in and crop a photo without you wanting it to and it doesn’t actually save the photos afterwards. It would be nice if you could select only background people to be cropped out instead of the main person in the photo. Not worth $3 at all!
I was really excited about this app, especially since the recent update allows you to use photos already on your device. But I’ve tried at least 8 different images that have a person or two in them and it tells me Human Not Found. Shame - I really wanted to be able to use this!
I love this App! Nowadays overfludded with images all sorts it makes a point! What is important these days in life?! I think it’s super funny, smart and genius!
It doesn’t remove humans. The only time it actually worked when I stood 2 feet away from the mirror and took my own picture. Then after 35 seconds of processing I was removed from the picture but it was blurry. It doesn’t work outside. What a joke.
This is not really an app yet. No way to save photos or even use the forward selfie cam. It will be nice to see when they build it out. Feature request: ability to review existing pix
Bought this thing thinking/believing it was “cool”... it just doesn’t work, it’s a piece of crap! Shame on App Store to allow and offer such a bad functional/technical quality app. Not even the “update” works! Don’t waste time and money on this thing.
App doesn’t do what it’s made for. It does not detect humans. I have tried to both take pictures within the app and upload pictures, in both ways it doesn’t detect humans and is completely useless. Waist of money.
I tried on a photo of a couple of cars with 3 people in the back. The app tried to remove one of the cars and left all the people in the photo. It was funny but not what I was expecting...
What a shame! Does not work! Told there is an update, doesn’t update! Tried several photos keep being told could not detect humans. Tried taking photos with app, same thing! Want my money back
A lot of bugs, every time I try to use the app it says i need an update, have tried to update but nothing available, I waste $3 on this garbage. Not letting me upload pictures no nothing 🤦🏻♂️
It lets you click a photo, remove human (not fully, to some extent), but doesn’t let you save the photo or even export it outside. This App shouldn’t be on AppStore, and refund should be given to whoever downloaded or purchased this app.
This app is not ready to sell, works only in very limited situations. It seems they need more ‘data’ to process properly BUT you don’t need to volunteer that with paying.
This app is not worth $2.99. This is not ready for prime time. The “new” picture it creates without humans is of significantly reduced quality. At best, this is a novelty until they can work on the image quality
The Bye Bye Camera app is the camera for the post-human era. Every picture you take automatically removes any person. Finally you can take a selfie without yourself. **IMPORTANT NOTE: This not the next photo editing start up it's a piece of software art :) ** **this app always needs a good internet connection** **we don't save any pictures on any server - we highly value privacy**
