I last lived in California in 1980. So in the 41 years since then I’ve used the Cabrillo online features and have been treated like gold. I enjoy utilizing the online services and have tried to update my knowledge of its security features and know that it’s my job to compliment the online security features with a good account name and password. Good work. Keep up the excellent security features. I’ve had an account there since 1977. I’m not planning on going anywhere else after 50 years with Cabrillo.
The app and system sometimes shuts down and makes it wildly inconvenient for those of us that use it regularly. It really wouldn’t be a problem if it happened occasionally- but it happens entirely too often. I have never experienced that kind of frequency of technical difficulties anywhere else. They are also very strangely selective of when they post any charges; whether pending or not. And it’s not consistent enough for me to know or predict the difference. This is also incredibly frustrating because I will be so conscious of my spending and the app will keep such great track but then an online order will not even show up as pending and derail my entire calculation. What is the point of the app if it’s not going to accurately keep track of my spending? This is meant to be a tool for that. I am actually thinking of switching banks very shortly and the app failures are about 40% of the reason.
Since 2010 we have been member of CCU. We have had such a great experience with the professional staff and services. We have had numerous accounts, business account and all our children’s accounts as well. Being able to transfer from account to account has been no hassle. A bank representative is always abatible you help with any if our banking needs. I would recommend Cabrillo Credit Union to all family and friends!!
We moved away from Coronado 7 years ago. Still I have never moved my money out of Cabrillo Credit Union! Their APP is easy to navigate so I can get all the information I need about my money from here in CIncinnati OH! When the APP needs regular maintenance, as they all do, it is scheduled way in advance & we are notified appropriately! If I email Customer Service, I always get a quick & helpful response!
I have been with other banks so I feel that I have some ability to compare and contrast. The Cabrillo app is not very intuitive, an example of this is attempting to send or transfer money to a person who is not a member of Cabrillo. You have to set them up as a “bill” (very strange). Some capabilities are not functional until you have been a member for a period of time (very confusing). The only way to find out about these eccentricities is to call and speak to someone who will walk you through your issue or explain the non-functionality.
Cabrillo representatives are the best you will find in banking industry. They have helped me and my family of two to five at he present day. They go the extra mile to get the answer if they don’t have it at the time of the call. Their reach to assist me with all my banking needs doesn’t end at the California border but extends to Florida . I am so happy to be a member.
Why a credit union and not a bank? CUs do everything a bank does...only better. And...you’re not an account number, you have a face. The investment is in you not global. I’ve been with CCU for 25 years and have financed my autos, my home, etc. never happier. Never going to change. CCU is family...my financial family. Lucky me.
Update fm last review. One star less because Mission Federal credit union does everything Cabrillo does plus they are open later, on Saturdays, and I can still get my paycheck on Thursday at midnight. Which is awesome. I am keeping Cabrillo because I like to keep bills separate from “fun” money. I just never have time to go to the branch because their hours mirror mine. I would have to ask for time off work to go to “the bank” which seems silly to me.
Can you please update the app’s capabilities. I’ve ran into multiple fraud issues where I need to speak with a representative to clear up the misunderstanding. This could be solved with a feature that enables the app to notify me a flagged purchase and I can either confirm I made the purchase or that it is a fraudulent purchase on my account. Other than this issue, I am very happy with the app.
I have dealt with many banks and credit unions in my lifetime. Cabrillo has always taken care of any issues in a prompt, professional and friendly manner. I do believe that they follow the old rule that Customers come first! Thank you Cabrillo!
Great App. It’s been years since I’ve had to go inside of the Bank. (Which is Helpful when your in a Wheelchair !!) They need to provide better Instructions. Hate having to Call so someone can walk me through the process of setting up Overdraft Protection.
I like that I can do pretty much anything here on the app, like placing a check stop payment, making credit card payments, etc. And the app is very easy to navigate. I’ve never had an issue signing in with my fingerprint.
After years of exposure to higher end experiences, this app feels very basic. That of course isn’t to say it cannot do what I need it to do. In fact, it pretty much mirrors the web experience. I love Cabrillo and their legendary service. =)
I enjoy the app as the branch has limited locations and the hours can sometimes be limited with weekend access. The app provided me with all branch features plus some. Highly recommend for ease of banking.
I like banking with Cabrillo Credit Union, They always take care of their clients that banks with them, and also makes us feel at ease with great customer service. Although i wish that they were open on weekends.
Ever since I got a new phone, it doesn’t accept my device registration. So, I have to go through a longer process. It’s a major improvement from when the app first started. Just needs a few more tweaks.
One of the more recent updates buried the mobile deposit function. It’s one of the more popular items for a mobile bank app so I’m not sure why it’s not more prominently displayed on the toolbar. Please move it out of the sub folder and put it right in the open, at the top of the options.
The App is a little slow and isn’t as user friendly to some who aren’t tech savvy. Cabrillo is a reliable bank they’re just not the most available. No 24/7 assistance. The app crashes sometimes too and isn’t available for use for sometimes 8 + hrs to a day.
Slow app. NO warning of deposit limit. Completely inconvenient
This app is horribly slow. There is ZERO warning of a mobile deposit limit. None. “It’s in the disclosures when you opened your account Ma’am” is a TERRIBLE excuse. Terrible. Put a warning in the app. My whole check is screwed now because I wrote mobile deposit like this useless app said to. This bank is inconvenient and I regret switching. Stay local to your home
It’s a great app! I can do everything I need to with the app. It is very user friendly. I’ve also accessed the chat via the app, also very efficient. The connection time was minimal, and I was able to get the info I needed.
I thoroughly enjoy the layout and accessibility that Cabrillo has given to its members! Being that I am an out-of-state member, I am still able to do all the basic transactions I need to from my phone. Thank you Cabrillo!
I have been a member of Cabrillo since 1981 and the service and personnel are outstanding. In 1984 I returned back East and kept Cabrillo as my credit union. The App allows me to keep “in touch” and continue my banking needs from afar.
