I’ve been using Apple products for 30 years and I finally found it! Available on the App Store is the carter lumber app which is hands-down the most useless piece of coding I’ve ever seen in my life. The current version does absolutely nothing, no exaggeration. All I can find that it does is allow you to find a store. That, of course, as a feature of any mapping app. Come on Carter lumber, at least come up to the 20th century.
If you don’t know how to save a phone number or email from your smart phone, then just maybe this app is for you. For a company to go through all this trouble for a useless product is beyond me. Now if you just need a place to keep your Carter points safe and can find the easy this app may be for you.
Why would you make an app that only directs you to the full company website? At least the store finder works well. This is a great app to remind you why Home Depot and Lowes’ apps are so much better.
I go to Carter Lumber's site a lot and was on their site and saw they have a new app. I downloaded it, checked it out and I have to say that it functions intuitively and easily. This is a pretty standard app when it comes to locating a store, but there are some pretty neat additions that I didn't find in other apps from companies like this. Overall I was impressed! The store locator was nice and convenient. I've had problems with other companies not showing up in Google Maps or the wrong phone number or the wrong address – I'm REALLY happy to see a company maintain their own list of stores so I know when I get a phone number or address, I'm going to the right place! The app shines in that it keeps the store I favorited at the front. I don't have to go through a whole bunch of different menu options to call the store I need. It's there when I start up the app. SO many companies forget this and it's incredibly frustrating to me to have to go through a bunch of screens just to find a store's phone number that I already favorited. The roof pitch tool was the other thing I loved. What a great idea to have a camera on the app to show you your roof pitch instead of just showing a list and having you guess it. This is a great start, Carter Lumber. I try to shop at local/regional companies and it's very exciting to see a company like that really give me something I can use.
