Civista Bank, formerly Citizens Bank is the best most honest and friendly bank in the Midwest. Since the recent growth of the bank to Indiana and western Ohio In Napoleon and the surrounding areas, the bank has remained the reliable home town bank that we have known and trusted for years. As a matter of fact, my father and Grandparents banked with Citizens (Civista) for as long as I can remember. Actually for several decades longer than I can recall. I know the family business was run with the help of Civista. I received my first car loan from Civista. And just about every loan in the family since. If you are looking for a friendly, reliable place to keep your finances, you really can’t do any better than right here at Civista.
I’ve been using this app since the beginning, and I’ve rarely ever had problems. Balances, transfers, statements, etc, all available 24/7, within seconds of access of the app. Been very helpful and will continue to use for the foreseeable future.
I was very excited to find out that I could finally deposit checks with my phone in the newest update. However, this feature does not seem to be working properly. I choose the account I would like to deposit the check in, enter the amount, and take pictures of the front and back of the check, but after that point, the screen goes blank and I am unable to successfully deposit any checks…
Easy to navigate! I have been with citizens/civista since I was a teenager! More than 50 years ago! The customer service and friendly people at your branches are second to none! Thank you for always being there for me and my family.
Generally like the app, but since a recent update, I have problems with it on my phone. When I try to click on specific accounts, I accidentally click on “financial tools”. When I do this I can’t get out of it to click on the items I want. I have to exit the app and start over. This is very annoying. I use an iPhone mini.
This app is so user-friendly!! I love that I can link my other bank accounts using this app and see all my activity. Such a quick reference at my fingertips. Such a wonderful tool to have for every day use! Go Civista!!
This app allows me to do almost all of my banking from my phone. My only complaint is that I wish there was a way to add a custom name to individual accounts. On the main dashboard I see all the accounts I am linked to, but only by type. If I could add custom names, I could see “Mom’s savings”, “My Checking” etc.

This version is the worst. There are several steps you must follow to see what payments are pending. This resulted in paying the same bill twice in the same month. The prior version would warn you if that 2 payments were scheduled and require you authorize or cancel one of the payments. This change makes me think about changing banks and I’ve banked at this bank system for 50 years.
I like everything EXCEPT the chat icon partially covers the menu icon and when I attempt to log out or choose another action I have to wrestle with “penny” to get it out of the way. Until that was added this app had perfect!
I love the app. It’s so convenient. I can deposit checks from my phone. I work while the bank is open so it’s hard to deposit checks in person. The people that set up my account were very nice too!!
This bank bought my old bank and it has been awful ever since! The policies are so horrific and predatory!! I moved my primary banking elsewhere. I still have my old account open because it’s tied to so many other autopays but I’m just waiting it out until I move and can cut them all off. Seriously, stay away. Fifth Third wannabes! It’s truly that bad!! To be clear, the people are nice, it’s the policies that are terrible!
Biggest drawback is that automated password management and/or Face ID are not allowed. So, log in is always difficult. The app also has a tendency to ask for answers to security questions that were never asked and that you didn’t answer. Then, access to your account is restricted.
I have been a customer of UCB for a long time and when CIVISTA took over they changed the app and the experience! I rate this 5 out of 5 for my everyday purposes.
Previously had issues with log in and needed to have one line staff reset vs having a customer online /web based oriented reset option like most other financial institutions. Which is still a needed option .
Graphics make the information easier to find. Working with more than one electronic device l still get my identity questioned but getting past that is pretty simple and doesn’t take a lot of time. It is confusing that calls to the bank are routed to Sandusky rather than my local bank. The transition has been pretty seamless and I am satisfied.
This is one of the worst apps I've ever used. It constantly makes me type my password in instead of using passcode and faceid and half the time when I type the correct password in it won't work. I've seriously thought about switching banks just so I don't have to use this app.
Once the app was redesigned, I started having login issues. The main problem is, the Face ID never works. I have to manually type my password in each time.
I think I can speak for civista users everywhere when I say GIVE US CUSTOMIZABLE DEBIT CARD OPTIONS please!!! Bengals, reds, etc. You know things your patrons enjoy
