Simple way to describe the app. Credit unions are generally light years behind large banks from a tech aspect. Chief Financial has outstanding customer service, best I have had anywhere. Their app however fails. Good to find an atm/branch, check your balance but that is where it stops. The mobile deposit doesn't work. It shouldn't need a second user name. If I can log into my account via the app the mobile deposit should work seamlessly within the app. Will bank with them forever, I will just never expect mobile banking to function the way a banks would.
Great app & customer service — but please add modern 2FA
Good app, looks and feels modern. Offers modern features like mobile check deposit and Touch ID to sign in. Keep in mind that some of the other reviews might have been written when an older version of the app existed, but as of 2022 the app is really good. Chief Financial’s customer service is also top-notch. The only thing I’d recommend for the app is modern two-factor authentication (like with OTPs) instead of security questions. Or at least provide it as an option. But I’m still giving five stars since it’s a really good app and credit union.
Never had any experience that wasn’t professional and pleasant even now when all employers are going through such misery just trying to get employees to come back to work. Even short staffed, Chief Financial is an asset to the community!
It’s absolutely obnoxious that I have to enter a security code every time I login, and that I need a second login to do mobile deposit that takes longer to process than if I went in branch. It’s truly the dark ages.
