The China Airlines mobile app provides very poor insufficient information while at the LAX airport. It does not give out clear information as well as direction like other well known airlines apps. The items categories are poorly organized. Many unclear guidances for passengers before the flight. Suggest to borrow from other airlines apps like Delta, United even they are not perfect but provide travelers a peace of mind and smooth travel experience.
If you are reading this it’s because you are getting ready to travel with China Airlines and wanted the app for facilitating ease of travel. I am sorry to tell you that you done messed up. Succinctly put this app is horribly outdated - the design looks like it’s decades behind the times, and the app itself is buggy. The app has been attempting to load the privacy protection policy for 15+ mins now (quitting and reopening the app has not made a difference in helping the app load faster) - all while being on hold on the phone for 20 mins as well with the same recorded voice message “all representatives are busy now…please be patient” repeating every 10 seconds to the same loop of background music. My initial quoted wait time was 5 mins to hold before a representative would respond. This is such a shame considering I have flown China Airlines for over 30 years and have always enjoyed the in flight experience and on board services. This app does NOT match the quality experience delivered on a China Airlines Flight and the app developers need to be held accountable for that. Thank you
My family and I traveled with CI 0012 from Taipei to New York on May 4th, 2024. That was a terrible experience. None of the flight attendants helped my family with an infant and a toddler. The flight was about 15 hours, yet none of the flight attendants set up the bassinet for our infant until the middle of the flight. My three-year-old was so tired we were trying to accommodate her for a nap during the non-flight, but the staff stopped us to set up a more comfortable place for her to nap. In such a vulnerable situation, up in the air without any support and with the need to take care of two young children, we were highly disappointed with the service provided by China Airlines. After all, that experience related to not only a terrible flight for my family but also a significantly worse impression of the surface provided for a young family who needed extra attention during a long flight. I would recommend my parents, friends and family not to take the China Airlines.

As an Emerald member, I’m very disappointed with the China Airlines app. It’s not user-friendly at all. Important features like booking inquiries should be front and center, not buried in sub-menus. Instead, the app prioritizes flight deal ads and the Sky Boutique, which are not my concern when checking my flights. Please redesign the app to focus on the needs of frequent flyers rather than corporate interests.

This is just awful. Time to hire new tech team. Logging in and you must do so every time even from same phone and add their useless verification codes that their very own system does not recognize. Repeat over and over again until you feel like leaving a review which I’ve never felt the need to do ever except with China airlines. Here’s hoping their service and safety standards are not as cheap and shoddy!
If you do not write your middle name under given name portion you will never find your booking. When Signing -up when writing the middle name it errors and so then the choice is not to write the middle name. Which then is useless because then you cannot find your booking when signed in. They need improve their app and Sign up process.
You cannot use this phone app for any function. Nothing works, including online checkin. The website also has no functionality, including online checkin. The emails that they send you regarding your flight also have no useful content whatsoever.
I was going to book for a ticket back to Taiwan while the app shows the booking service is unavailable and please try later. Never ever encountered any airline’s app being designed so poorly, please put together of your IT team to get it work properly!
Stupid app cannot register if first name is more than 1 word. After registered w just first name, no middle name, then it can’t find flight info. Got log out , then input e ticket , last name, first name, middle name, e ticket number. After closing app, lost all info. Got to start all over.
I wish there was a choice to give 0 star. The app is not working at all. It keeps giving error messages while tiring to log in for no reason. I can not believe they put an app like this out there for their customers.
Cannot pull up my itinerary on the app at all. I have to log in on a computer to see details. Always say no data found. Reached out to developer, I just received an email about check in but cannot do so.
A truly awful app. Breaks EVERY iOS user guideline, riddled with bugs, and basically useless (eg you can’t even do basic things like scan what movies will be on your flight before you take off).
I couldn’t even complete registering my account. It kept telling me my last name has “invalid format” even though my last name has only four normal letters (those covered by A-Z, not special symbols) and that is what I entered.

It has bugs
The terminal and gate information in the status line is reversed. “Boarding for your transit flight starts at XX:XX at Gate 2, Terminal D1” - it’s supposed to be “Terminal 2, Gate D1”.
This is one of the worst airline websites I’ve ever used. Poor guidance, unresponsive, redundant and ineffective. I’m frustrated every time I try to use it…and unsuccessful.
Never ever deal with China Airlines. They stranded us, suspended our tickets so we couldn't be rebooked, their app doesn't work, and their customer service office is 9-5 M-F only.
First of all the app works but 'barely'... Although I can book a round trip flight successfully, with the help that the app displayed prices of few days before and after that allows me to find the lowest price around my original travel days. It goes downhill from there.... After I select the flights and seats, I have to enter travel document info although it was saved in my profile. At very last step: payment, or is a plus the are many payment options..... But... When I click 'NEXT' after entered credit card info, an error message 'hit return too many times...' then entire operation have to start from beginning... There is another error message when I want to change seats by clicking 'passenger' of the reservation... Something to do with the width of the table.... The overall experience it's not pleasant... I'd suggest the developers check out other airlines app... Such as Delta, AA, Lufthansa... Learn the interface as well as the function...
This is the worst piece of crapp. It’s 2018 almost 2019 and this crap looks like it was made back in 2008. Random bull crap, 30 minutes auto logout even though I just logged in. Crashes. When you finish booking your ticket it automatically setup. You need to go “find” it by entering the confirmation number before you can see it. It’s so stupid. The worst of the absolute worst. The only reason I take this airline when going to Taiwan is because I’m a frequent flyer on Delta otherwise I would just take ANA or JAL even though they are not direct.
It has been 2 days that I can’t look up for my other booking tickets. I’ve tried log out and in several times but did not work. I even deleted the app and tried to download again but the problem is the same. Another problem the app has is that I can book for multi city, it shows option to select but the result always so negative.
I tried to log in seceral times and I even tried to reinstall the app but the app stays the same that says webservice can not be parsed everytime I tried to log in. I need to check my miles and I just flew over 8000 miles less than one week! Please fix it so I can enjoy as a frequent dynasty flyer with you.
I have to go on the website to check on my flight confirmation. My name and reservation number is accepted on the website but not in the app. It always says “Data Not Found”. App name is also not in English for phones set in English language. I get that it’s a Chinese airline but imagine searching for an app in another language. It’s difficult.
I signed up for the membership and successfully signed in through their website. However, when i tried to sign in via the Mobile app, it popped up with the Chinese language. I couldn't understand the message although everything else showing in English. Tried few times and give up. They need too QA their app better. What a lousy app!!
After I downloaded your app, I cannot even open the app. I wish I could give no star to your app because it did not let me submit my review with one star. I tried to use different nicknames but your app said "The nickname is taken." If you see my review was submitted, I was forced to submitted it with more stars.
Was filling out personal info for pre check-in and I tried to scroll to choose my date of birth and I could only choose today as my birthday.... it just jumped back to today’s date after scrolling... when I used browser to do so, it said my ticket type couldn’t use this system! FAIL CHINA AIRLINES!!!
I don’t know why you would allocate recourses to create an app, and make it public, all the while, it’s main/ only function is totally defunct. You cannot look up flights, and you cannot book them. Is their like a tax refund for having an app out? That would be only sensible reason for the production of such garbage.
I can find my information on their website but can never pull over my information. Always says “No Data Found” when I now the data is in their system. Without my reservation in the App, all the functions are worthless!
