The ability for a completely independent check-in process is incredibly cool. I had everything sorted before we arrived to the hotel… all I had to do was pick up a key card and hold it to the back of my phone for it to be programmed and able to open our room door. That's so futuristic and amazing to me. What a cool brand they've built and such an immaculately designed app to complement the overall experience. I've never seen a hotel app that's so sleek and minimalist in terms of bloatware but also perfectly functional and innovative at the same time. Truly well done to the software engineering team -- amazing work!
I haven’t seen the room yet, but the app experience is garbage. Every check-in step timed out (I guess) and ended with an error that the app could not recover from. After force quitting and relaunching, I could go another step. After my first payment step failed, I checked my credit card and saw that an authorization for the full amount had indeed gone through. I naively gave that step a second chance, and it then showed as paid, let me pick a room, and showed me a barcode to use at checkin. Cool! But not so fast. I left the app to see if my card was authorized a second time (it was, so now two authorizations for the full amount are pending), and when I came back to the app, it again tells me I haven’t paid. That barcode is nowhere to be found. Maybe the desk staff can sort this out when I reach the hotel, but the app is a cruel joke. I get so tired of companies under-investing in app QA and leaving the entire paying public to be their beta testers…
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time!! Drinks were great! The room was amazing! Loved the amazing city view, shower, and bed. We loved the lighting and how we could change the mood of the room. Location was great! Was able to just walk to the Space needle, Pikes Market, and had many options for restaurants and coffee shops. Was there to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and to just have a little getaway alone together. When we got to the room it was decorated for his birthday which was an amazing surprise. He loved it! Thank you so much for taking the time to make our stay extra special. We will for sure stay again!
Amazing stay. Hotel is up to date. Check-in is easy. The Staff in the Hotel are exceptional. The CitizenM app, is wonderful. You can check-in, check-out, even control the lights, use the tv, order food, chat with help desk, see the highlights on you area. Love the hotel, love the Staff. Definitely will recommend to my Family and Friends to stay in the Hotel. Boston north station, location is one of the best Ive been so far. Train is like 1-2 minutes near the hotel, even a Food Hub.
They make it super easy to sign up and give them money, but it’s incredibly hard to figure out how to cancel the subscription. I had to go digging around on the internet to find a legal document and scroll through the whole thing to learn I need to email their support. That’s ridiculous. You should be able to just hit a button and unsubscribe or at least see how long you’ve been a member and when you can cancel. Invest in improving the member experience—including the unsubscribe option. Now I’d be terrified to ever join again in fear I’d get trapped another year or two with no clear path out. Love the hotels though.
This is my first stay at a citizen M and I really enjoyed my accommodations and especially the Staff. Eric was super nice and welcoming, Bishop was kind and helpful and Aubrey was really helpful and also very nice. I enjoyed speaking with Adam(security) and his professional yet common sense approach to his interactions. All were welcoming and warm with it feeling lame or forced. My accommodations were better than expected, the room was just the right size for me, this design allows for us of all the space! The colored LED lights were fun, the shower modern and efficient. The lobby was modern without being cold or overly bourgeoise. The furniture was very comfortable and the books laying around were pretty cool. When I am next in A-Dam or another city with citizen M I will definitely book. Thank you for the comfortable lodging and the great staff!
The hotel is good especially for single travelers. However, though it serves everything in a smart way (from its app end), this app doesn’t know how to reset up your password! It sent me an email with a “magic link” that I can click in to (maybe) reset up my password or at least place an order of my food. Unfortunately this magic link only lasts for 3 seconds, and even before I can search on the website to find a way reset my account, it already cut me off and return to the dumm page asking for my password!
First off, I always read reviews starting with the lowest rated first. From our experience, none of the lower-rated reviews are accurate. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The space is warm and welcoming. The room is smaller but efficient. If you enjoy being up close and personal with your mate, it’s a great space. We had no problem with the space.
Great view from our room. Shower is the best with easy controls. Seamless phone controls for the room from the app. The bed: Sleep with your head to the window for easy exit. Breakfast is a plus and better comparable to the local eateries. Location is convenient to the city. Lobby is amazing with great seating and friendly alcoves. Rooms are efficient but small, the lobby is your best hang out.
The hotel is good and perfect location for tourist attractions and landmarks. Accessible to groceries , food and shopping. Room indeed great to stay to relax, study and work. Up to date and trendy technology ( access room via phone ) Amazing! Staff is good and nice Thank to Evony…very accommodating and kind. Gym so equipped to workout, cafeteria and lounges invites good vibes. I’ll be back here soon! Happy Thanksgiving
This review is in regard to the app, not the hotel chain. I absolutely love Citizen M and will always stay at their hotels. The app still needs to fix the area of hotel stays. I’ve stayed several times and am currently staying in one, yet it will not update my stays or current booking. I tried deleting the app and reloading. Still nothing. Despite that, I do like controlling the room controls with the app because not every room ipad works.
It’s a better option to just go ahead and get the app before coming to a citizen M. Checking in was bing bang boom easy. And the app works just like the in room iPad, which does a lot too so it’s just nice to just have it right there on your phone you already will be using.
This is our second time at CitizenM Roissy and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. It has everything a traveler would want: friendly, accommodating, multi-lingual staff, pleasant surroundings, and good food…all at an attractive price. One of best showers and comfortable beds we’ve had. Still, the number one benefit is the staff. Thank you, Merci beaucoup, Danke.
This place is amazing. The vibe is Amsterdam positivity all the way. The rooms are so cute. Yeah, they’re small, but it’s a funky European efficiency of space and environmental consciousness. The employees are obviously happy; one young woman told me with pride the various locations they have in the US. I can’t wait to visit the Chicago location!
This is the by far the nicest hotel room that I’ve ever had. And it’s pretty affordable, you pay for what you get! You can control everything with your phone, and even choose the mood of the room. Would like the option to scan another form of ID besides a passport. I don’t have one, as I only travel domestic and this forces me to still have to stop by the kiosk instead of having the option of contactless check in
I can’t say how much I enjoyed everything about this staff and crew and hotel!! Left my phone outside with a lot of people and the security on deck got my phone and put it on the charger and everything. Thanks a lot team. Means a lot. ✌🏽 Sincerely brock
My wife and I love the whole experience. Check in is very cool. The hotel is very high tech and immaculately clean. The ambient lighting and temperature is controlled by your cell phone. (On citizenM app 0r an iPad.) Great location to great restaurants and shopping. The Brickell Miami hotel is fun. The staff gets a big thanks. They are all very helpful.

Very clean hotel in a nice area with plenty of eateries and things to do. The rooms are very modern with electric day/night shades, operate the tv, lights, etc through an iPad! A great stay of looking to not be on south beach. I’ll definitely be back
It scans, and recognized. After pushing “next,” he goes back, but does not open the camera again. As result scan is not completed and impossible to do next step such choose a room or key etc

New technology to ease check in. Suits the tech savvy modern age travelers. All room features operated via tablet. Convenient location. Very clean hotel! Staff is very friendly. I would stay again.
I think the last version update broke the app. Two of my three bookings (all of which were booked through either the app or their website) will not show up, even after adding booking manually/reinstalling/logging out/etc. None of the app in-room functionality will work, making the app absolutely useless. Try again.
It was very nice and clean. I love the big window and just have this space to myself was great. I love how everything is controlled through the app and IPad. I definitely recommend for self-love.

I’m a paying citizen m member and I can not log in book anything because google login ,which I signed up with and been using for months, now throws up an error. The issue appears to be the sign in page used to be on an external browser and has been moved to within the app.
Doesn’t control everything in the room. Only downloaded the app because the iPad didn’t work. Had to wait 20 mins on the chat to even log into the app as it wouldn’t recognise my booking details
Tried magic link and google. Threw me through multiple loops. Also, keeps asking me for my city of residence, to fill out a form, then when I submit, it asks for my city of residence again. I think I filled out that form five times. Stop making people get apps just to rent a room.
Unable to control anything from the app. It doesn’t recognize my reservation after live chat for over 3 hours (had to reinstall multiple times) and tv in room has wrong name.

There is no closed caption or subtitle on the TV. No menu to guide me to turn on the caption. Please be considerate of persons with hearing loss to have access.
Downloaded the app to control room features. App responded with room controls unavailable. This is nothing more than a Trojan horse to get your email address to bombard you with junk mail.
Do not waste your time either the app, it requires rfid scanning your passport and it did not work on iPhone 12. Just go to hotel and check in there on their terminal.
