I thank you for listening to a suggestion I sent forward before. I signed up for notifications about the ferries in Puerto Rico. I received them, but they were in Spanish. I do not completely understand Spanish so it did not help me. Eureka: you folks started sending the English translation. Thank you. Now, if only The Puerto Rican water system Agua would do the same. Respectfully Patrick Clougher
This must be the only app in the store that doesn’t allow you to save a card and billing info for recurrent billing. I have to enter my card and billing info every. single. time. Yes, I did go to Add a payment method and added my card, but I still had to re-enter at the time of purchase. I get it that there is no login required, but I don’t even have the option to create a secure account. The mapping algo is also whatever… 190 minutes to walk just over a mile? Dunno, feel like these issues have already been solved by apps.
I don’t care for how the Pierce County ferry schedule is displayed. Just put a schedule “table” out like what is used currently on the Pierce County website. With there there is to much scrolling. It’s not just immediately obviously when you look. Also, why no Apple Pay? The glitches are annoying. Bought a 5 trip value pass and used it once. Then it disappeared after the first use. Super annoying. Now I have to have a proper ticket for the rest of the week. Get it fixed.
As an annual pass holder for the Potomac Water Taxi, the app leaves a lot to be desired. Disjointed ticketing and schedules. Why is there a separate listing for Cherry Blossom Water Taxi (March - Apr 15 departures) - buried deep in the app - and another listing for Water Taxi beginning April 15? A central schedule that doesn’t require walking through a ticket purchase would be very helpful. Bring back morning departures from Alexandria, late night/post-concert departures from the Wharf, and the Baseball Boat!
Doesn’t update tickets if any are added or removed, doesn’t show QR codes on primary ticket page but rather emails them to be displayed by email, defeating the purpose of the app. Auto-restarts and re-opens itself in order to persistently track location despite it being disabled outside of the app being open.
What type of an app is this? I purchased a statue cruise through the app and received a ticket through email. However, the ticket never appeared in the app. I tried to manually add the ticket with my confirmation number and it says, “found your reservation”. Trouble is, it never finds my reservation and populates it in my tickets. So, I will just print out a copy of the ticket and bring it with me during checkin. App is completely useless for ticket management.
Poorly designed and not even complete. Have a hard time buying tickets and changing credit cards, not user friendly. App doesn’t let you give a less than positive review. No option for Steilacoom WA ferry when trying to correspond with City Experience and it takes a long time to load. Need better designers.
No access to ferry from Cieba to Vieques through the app
I cannot get schedule or ticket availability for the ferry to Vieques. The starting point Cieba Ferry Terminal is one of the choices, but not the same in Vieques. It does work on their webpage. Also, there is no FAQ about how far ahead dates are opened up for sale. So I am having to check the website daily in hopes of getting tickets for next month when available.
Normally when you use Apple Pay, the chime you hear at the end after it says “Done” is the end of the transaction. When I use it, it simply brings me to a billing information screen to enter name, address etc., where no matter what information you enter it won’t let you hit “Pay now” at the end (it’s greyed out)
I’ve been using this app for about almost two months, and have only successfully been able to buy a ticket once. I just get an error over and over again. Having to walk down to the ferry dock every time I leave my island is getting to be a pain in the rear. Very disappointed!
I am stuck on the location services page that appears the first time you open the app. My screen is not big enough to show the buttons at the bottom of the screen
I have downloaded the app twice, but each time when I get to the location services page I cannot proceed. It looks like maybe I should be able to scroll down and click a button, but I am unable to scroll.
What’s the point for the residents of Vieques and Culebra to have this app when all the tickets are sold out online and the only option we have is to get up extra early to and get in line to see if we can get a ticket to get to the main island and come back
Hard to navigate through the ads and fluff to the buy page. Does not show tickets for sale on some dates unless you scroll forward and back through months. Slow response. Tracks location.
I don’t know why this is rated so well. I can’t even get to the screen to log in. And I can’t link my tickets that I already bought, even though I entered my email. Useless. Going to uninstall right away.
This app is very awkward to use. E.G., If you search for a ferry it takes you to directions with no hot button to buy a ticket. You have to hunt through the drop down menu to find it. Other annoying elements to numerous to waste my time on.
Downloaded the app a dozen times on my iPhone but can never get past the enable location page because the “location” button is below my screen. Can’t shrink the page to reach it or scroll up to reach it.
I couldn’t change my time for our statue ferry cruise online so i downloaded the app and when i go in to enter my confirmation number it does nothing so i’m not able to view my tickets and make adjustments
Have never been able to purchase tickets. It won’t let me put card information in. I have deleted the app and reloaded it a few times with no success. HELP! Forget it.
This is one of the most poorly designed apps I’ve ever tried to use. I say “tried” because I never did find what I was looking for and eventually gave up.
After purchasing a ticket through the app, you can’t find it in the same app. Be careful if it shows it right away, it won’t be there a week later. PRINT YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAILS BECAUSE THE APP DOESNT STORE YOUR TICKET INFO.
It’s designed to spam users with advertisements. Compared to the real transit app such as DC’s, this is just trash. Just use the mobile website instead.
I recently tried using the Hornblowers app to purchase ferry tickets, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. As someone who worked as a deckhand on the ferry in the past and have been riding the ferry for twenty years, I expected the process to be relatively straightforward. However, I found it incredibly difficult to navigate and purchase tickets through the app. First and foremost, the user interface of the app is confusing and not intuitive. It was challenging to find the right options and navigate through the various screens. The ticket purchasing process lacked clear instructions, leaving me frustrated and unsure of what steps to take. Additionally, the schedule provided on the app made no sense, even to someone with prior experience riding the ferry. The labeling of the ferry departures was confusing, and it was difficult to discern which direction the times were for. This lack of logical and clear labeling made planning a trip or understanding the available options an arduous task. Given my background as a deckhand on the ferry, I had hoped for a seamless experience, but unfortunately, the Hornblowers app fell short of my expectations. The app’s complexity and the confusing schedule left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. I sincerely hope that Hornblowers addresses these issues and improves the app’s user interface and scheduling system. Clearer instructions, a more intuitive design, and a well labeled and logical ferry schedule would greatly enhance the user experience and make ticket purchasing a much smoother process. In its current state, I cannot recommend the Hornblowers app to others who are looking to purchase ferry tickets. Instead I recommend going out of their way and walking down to buy tickets.
