Just drive
I had an early morning flight out of Chicago and since it was my first time traveling alone I figured I’d save myself the stress of driving. I did not, in fact, save myself any stress. I tried for literally five days to get tickets. I tried every combination of things I could think of. Different browsers, cards, devices— I tried downloading the app and making an account, I tried saving a payment method— none of it would work. It would buffer and then decline my transaction. I texted the help line to see if I could buy one in person only to get a thoroughly confusing response, so I called and they said “yes but there’s an up charge for doing so” (i didn’t care at this point I just wanted a ticket, and I had read/heard that it was 6$). I was able to get a bus driver to confirm that I could get one the morning of, so I figured everything was fine. I show up the morning of (3:25 am) and the bus is like 10 minutes late. So already off to a great start. I get in and explain my problem, and he tells me to try again. Buddy, that’s what I’ve been doing for the past five days, I just want a paper ticket. My card declines on the reader. As per the last driver’s instructions I’d brought exact cash based on the website prices (+ $6 for the extra charge), but it actually ended up being $20 more. Tldr: this app doesn’t work. Like. At all. The one function is to buy a ticket and I wasn’t able to.

One star because there is no zero!
This app (and the company itself!) is ridiculous! I don’t know what developers meant by “see real time departure” or whatever else they put, this app doesn’t even have updated STOPS, PROPER TIMES AND GATES DEPARTURES which are on MANY occasions completely different then the one In port authority NYC. As a matter of fact, if you think you should rely on accuracy of this app, think again! And don’t ever rely on information provided! There are probably thousands of app developers who know what they are doing, I just don’t know how coach ended up with these??! Actually, this shouldn’t surprise us, considering how horrible Coach as a company is! The only reason they are still working is because there is no competition from upstate NY.

Terrible company all around
Besides the fact that half of the busses don’t show up on time or at all, the app is incredibly annoying to use and inconvenient. They need to make it so I can save my card information in the app like nj transit. It’s annoying to have to manually input the information every single time I want to buy a ticket. And it’s confusing that used tickets remain in “my tickets” but say they’re expired. To add to that I’ve had tickets expire early despite them having an expiration date months in advance.

Help line is confused
I bought a ticket from NYC to Newark Airport. Got to Port Authority about 15 minutes early. Couldn’t find a departures board so called Coach’s number. The guy who answered said it was Gate 21. Well, that gate wasn’t run by Coach. That wasted some critical time. I called back and got transferred to “Jared.” Jared said Coach doesn’t run a bus from Port Authority to Newark. Hm. I double checked my ticket and it was from Coach. I finally found a departures board and ran outside to where Coach pulls up curbside. Frustrating and I shouldn’t have had to be running!

I would give this 0 stars if possible
This new update is terrible for multiple reasons. But the biggest reason for me is the fact I can’t log into my account anymore. I realized i was logged out 10 mins before the bus departed but couldn’t log in at all. It kept telling me to create an account when I already have one. Still haven’t gotten into my account, and I only made it on the bus because I had a screenshot of a ticket

Disfunctional
This is absolute abomination. Just look at it. The only one reason that I have to enter EVERY FIELD AGAIN including billing info - is the reason to take this app down - so much pain it causes every time. No keychain integration, no browser wallet, no history, the searches are not idempotent for the same stops. All ugly, no way to find anything. The only reason I use it - to pay for the commute and even this simple action is made to be an ordeal

Not worth downloading
This is just an exact copy of their mobile website which also doesn’t work properly. There is nowhere on the app or website that tells you upcoming holiday schedule changes. It only lets you see the schedule of the current week, not any weeks in the future so as of today (12/9) it won’t show the Christmas schedule

it has the same functionality as the website. which is not grand from a UI perspective. hm. it’d be sick to get features like saved routes, favorite “rides” (basically whatever the departure time/location and destination is) to get notifications for and allat. and apple pay! and face id! idk there’s no reason for this mug to be like this yknow. sorry devs i know you’re probably doing ya thing and allat

App Does not Support Large Text
For those who have Large Text enabled on your iPhone, this app does not work. And you won’t realize it until you board the bus. The bus driver is unable to scan the barcode if you have Large Text enable. This is annoying and inconvenient for this who can’t see the text on an iPhone with the Default settings. PLEASE FIX THIS!

Needs a lot of work
Thank you to the project manager/developers who clearly had good intentions with making this app but did not get the resources to make it work. I would suggest the following improvements to improve this app: - Allow for the customer’s Couch USA account to remain signed in - Allow for credit card and billing details to be saved by the customer in the app - Make the blue ticket button bigger - Fix glitches, lags that impede easy use (particularly relating to switching between tabs and selecting locations) Thank you. I hope these improvements are funded.

Not only is this app a useless wrapper of their website but also their website isn’t even reliable. This is the second time I go to the bus stop at a specific time based on the posted schedule and there’s a completely different schedule when I get to the bus stop

Bus didn’t come and no refund
I bought a ticket online and showed up on time, but the bus didn’t come. I waited for the next one but that also didn’t come. Is this bus even exist? I took a train instead and requested a refund, but their answer was like ‘we don’t have a refund policy’. This is a scam, stay away!

Accessibility who?
Cannot save a payment method, address, or favorite a ride. Extremely frustrating to put in the information every time I need a ticket. App logs me out every couple of weeks leaving me to scramble to access my ticket. So many things could be better about this app.

Really deserves 0 stars, whenever I try to buy a ticket it gives me an error, but when I call my bank it says they took the money, seems very shady, same thing happens when I use the website and from these comments it’s happening a lot

How can an update be worse?
Hands down the worst transpo app I have ever used. Unfortunately I need to use it a lot. Upgraded app doesn't load to front facing page, gates have been removed from schedules or are completely buried somewhere. Thought it couldn't get any worse but no I was wrong.

Gates no longer listed?!?!
The previous versions of this app would show which gate/terminal the bus was assigned to at the Port Authority. It now doesn’t. The app also doesn’t show the latest purchased ticket which is stupid. Seems the developer didn’t bother to test this before release.

Terrible company
This is not the company you should use is you want to be on time. They don’t even provide seats at the station for the people! And the waiting time is 2 hours!! They only set one bus for more than 100 passengers…. Also the tickets so overpriced! Awful company -0

The have been a number of advancements over the last decade to make in-app purchasing easy and frictionless. Coach has implemented none of them. Buying tickets works, but barely.

Slow app. Can’t load tickets fast enough
Need option to download the ticket for offline vowing as app often slows down and you may miss the bus if it doesn’t load in time because the driver won’t let you board the bus until ticket is scanned

The update has made the app useless

Incorrect Scheduling
First time I’m writing a review. This organisation is disorganised and dishonest. They put up incorrect scheduling on the website and app for the morning after thanksgiving. I can understand why they changed the schedule, but they didn’t post it. I come at 6:00 AM, but the bus doesn't come until 6:45 AM, and then it also doesn't go all the way to destination, even though it is listed for a destination on the app/website. The next bus was then for 9 AM, so I ended up just taking an uber. I called to complain and the person hung up on me twice. No offer to transfer. All other workers at the station repeat the refrain “its not my problem” and claim they just follow the paper schedule posted at the gate, which is of no use to someone who buys tickets and views the schedule online. Dont offer a service if you provide it inadequately to the point of dishonesty. Never will use this business again.

Confusing, horrible user interface experience!
Terriblest transit experience I’ve ever had! This company should educate their employees and hire people who have better App development skills. I was at the New York Port Authority Bus Terminal and wanted to go to Newark airport. The driver told us that he only accept cash or E-ticket, we don’t have cash so we downloaded the app. But Newark Liberty International Airport is not even on the destination list, and there are 15 of ‘Port Authority Bus Terminal’ on the list, and the driver told us, “I can’t read, I don’t know” and he refused to tell us how to buy E ticket. In addition to that, there was one lady behind us, asked the driver if she can go to ATM real quick which is literally next to the bus Terminal, and the driver said:”we’ll be at airport by the time you back” which is really mean and rude!

Buying experience is horrible
I’ll start out by saying most of the app is OK. I can search for a route relatively easy (no favorites though) and find my route’s schedule. However, actually buying a ticket is about as bad an experience as you can possible have in an app. No way to login to save your details (either contact or credit card info), fields don’t get recognized as credit card details, so I have to manually type my card details EVERY SINGLE TIME. No Apple Pay either (of course). Its almost like the devs have deliberately put up roadblocks at every turn to make it harder to use. It takes me about 5 minutes each time just to buy a single ticket. Incredible that a buying experience can be this bad in 2023…

Can’t buy tickets
The app shows schedules, but so does their web page. But it won’t allow me to buy tickets. My credit card approves the transaction, but Coachusa rejects it. Tried creating an account, used two different credit card, same error. So I guess the app works just as well as their website, they won’t let me buy tickets there either. Customer support is useless. Ended up buying tickets at the bus- the driver said 5 other people on the bus had the same problem I had. Will they fix this someday? Hard to say, they make 20$ more round trip when I buy the tickets at the bus.

Continuous improvement is needed on this app Although search function was improved to allow for current location - it doesn’t really work - I have several bus stops within 2 miles to me but the search shows none. Also only main stops are shown - when will the full list of stops be added to the app. Please allow commonly used stops to be saved to a favorites section so I don’t have to keep starting a new search. Can the payment function include options like Apple Pay and PayPal, etc.

Terrible, not user friendly, neonatal customer support
This app is a great idea in theory but if the “computer” (yes that is all customer support will say) decides there is an issue with your account it blocks you from using it. No rhyme or reason, no steps to diagnose the problem & correct it just won’t let you use the app. Worse is it doesn’t tell you you’ve been selected by the “computer” to mot be allowed access to the app so they waste your time. It is absurd. Been huge supporters of commuting on public transportation for 30 years. We have never had an issue on any other app. Really disgusting with Coach USA

Worst app on my phone.
Seriously bad. Extremely buggy. Takes 45 minutes to properly book a ticket. Can’t add my card so every time I book a ticket I have to manually put down my cc info, no apple pay option. Multiple times I’ve tried to book a ticket and it only gets to the “see schedule” option then gives me a load screen. Right now I can’t get into my tickets and I need to take the bus tomorrow. Get a regular ticket.

Very rude driver
I was traveling from Chicago to Madison on 02-Sep-2021 at 6:40 AM. Coach USA assigned a driver named Mr. X to the trip. He was very rude and unprofessional towards the passengers. He was literally shouting at everybody. I guess Coach USA doesn’t want their drivers to behave this way with the passengers. One thing to remember is your drivers may have to explain same things again and again to the passengers but for passengers, it may be their first time to travel. Hence, I request your drivers, especially to Mr. X to respect the passengers and behave professionally. Wish I could give -ve rating to this bus company but I don’t have the option here in App store. Jus note that no matter how big your company is, always remember to respect your passengers because they are your source of income.

Poor UX design
This is one service where I regret having an app and wish they still sold tickets at the transit centers. The Ux design is pathetic. It takes 2 clicks to make selections from the search results. There is no way to save your favorite stops or routes so that one can quickly search schedules or purchase tickets. Every time I have to buy the tickets I have to enter my name, address, phone, credit card details. That’s ridiculous!! Why can’t you let us save information?? Why is there no integration with modern day payment options like Apple Pay or others? Why don’t you have 1-click purchase? Using this app is frustrating

App and website are crap
I am just amazed that a company can have issues with their site and app for over a week and do nothing about it. I have been trying to purchase tickets on the app and website and they keeps saying “oops something went wrong”. When I call the company, they tell me there is nothing they can do to help. So now I am expected to buy tickets when boarding the bus for twice a as much money. WHAT A SCAM!!!

This app failed when I asked it to sell me a ticket or even give me a schedule. No matter what option i selected (“buy tickets” or “schedules” or whatever) i got the same popup asking for origin and destination. In each case I supplied this information, only to receive the message “oops, something went wrong.” It sure did—maybe Coach USA needs to pay its developers more?

Not very useful
Not impressed. You can’t select schedules by bus route which would be so much easier than typing in origin and destination. Can’t reverse the route for return schedules, and you can’t set alerts. Finally, the routs don’t interface with Moovit, which would be a nice work around for the app faults. Whoever designed this doesn’t ever commute by bus. Please look at NJ transit and copy their app.

We purchased our tickets in advance through the website, because this app hadn’t worked. The bus stops were not easy to find at all. Their website explains where the bus stops are but that doesn’t help. And the bus didn’t come on time so we had to take Uber. We couldn’t get the refund. We’ll never use this bus company.

I cannot log in to my account, upon tapping the log in button, a white screen pops up and gets stuck. I tried resetting my password, deleting and reinstalling the app. NOTHING is working. I don’t know if it’s a bug issue? I’m using iphone 13 promax with ios 15.6 Please fix it asap
