I just changed my review back to 5 stars. I just realized all the developers did was change what the reviewers asked for, NO ads during the solving of a puzzle. Therefore, I won’t punish the developers for doing what was asked of them, even though it will now cost more to play for those of us who didn’t complain about have 5 second ads. We also lost the ability to watch a 30 second video at the end of solving each puzzle to earn 300 coins unless we pay for premium package because of it. Oh well….. Edit: this was by far the best jigsaw puzzle app available. You used to have to watch three 5 second videos while solving a puzzle, but since so many ppl complained about it, they had no choice but to changed it. Now, you no longer can watch a video after finishing each puzzle to earn 3x’s the amount of coins by watching a video (unless you purchase the premium package which isn’t cheap). Which means you’ll now have to either solve 3x’s the amount of puzzles to purchase more puzzles packs or spend cash because each pack costs thousands of coins. Oh well…..it was nice while it lasted.
No longer can recommend - rotation of pieces fails
NO LONGER RECOMMEND - UPDATED JUNE 2: Once again, a piece has connected but not correctly rotated to fit. I assume turning off rotation would fix this, but I enjoy the challenge of figuring out the rotation. I emailed developer but no word yet on fixing this. UPDATED JUNE 1 TO LOWER REVIEW: I had a piece in a snowy mountain scene that would not fit correctly its place. The rotation was not working. I tried rebooting and that did not fix it. I finished the rest of the puzzle, but then it crashed and lost all my progress on the puzzle. Wants me to start all over again. ORIGINAL REVIEW: What I love most about this app compared to the many others I tried, including Magic Jigsaw Puzzles, are: 1. The pieces have real variety in their shapes. It amazes me how many costing $ have identical connecting protrusions on every piece. Boring! 2. The ads are not overwhelming. 3. Because I choose to have lots of pieces, I love the dual trays that hold unconnected pieces. It means I do not have to scroll down as far to see all the pieces in one tray. 4. You can create puzzles from your own photos. The only improvements I would suggest as others already have are: 1. An option to pay more to get rid of ads. 2. Ability to change the tray background color the same as table color. Or at least make it lighter or darker. Sometimes you just can’t see certain pieces with the preset background. Overall, it is much better than the many apps I’ve tried.
Downloaded this puzzle app today, did one puzzle (108 pcs) — and I’m DONE with the app. Yes, I had read some of the reviews before downloading, and [wrongly] assumed that some of the older and repeated requests would have been addressed — especially those that should be easy to implement. As just one example, take the simple and frequent request to allow color changes to any area where pieces reside (right margin slider and trays included). The default should be "same as the chosen background color", which, btw, should have a lot more options, and should be changeable even *during* puzzle play. As many have noted, the uniformly dark color in the right margin slider makes it very difficult to see the shape of similarly dark pieces. I also found the piece-moving interface quite clunky. Having pieces snap to a grid when nowhere near their final spot means one can’t easily sort pieces into piles by color or pattern as an intermediate step toward solution. Also, having a lone pice become 'trapped' under a solved area meant that when my puzzle was completed except for that one piece (which was not visible to me), I was essentially stuck. I finally tried "hint" and that showed the piece. Ridiculous. I have several other jigsaw puzzle apps, with one that is by far my fave, but am always happy to try a new-to-me app. Yours doesn’t even go to the bottom of the list — it's going in the bit bucket after only one puzzle.
These are the best free puzzles I have found. I wish they had not changed Magic Puzzles. It was the best before they changed it this last time. 1-25 Before magic puzzles changed this year they were pictures of places and things. It was like having a vacation photograph made into a jigsaw puzzle. The pieces were smaller than these are but but teeny tiny pieces impossible for us seniors to see. I use my iPad for my puzzles. I can’t tell you much else as that version of Magic Puzzles changed. And I did these daily as well as the themed groups they offered. I didn’t save any of them so I can’t show you.
I like this puzzle app, the photos are clear and sharp, the cuts clean and varied, and they snap in readily when lined up. The double tray is helpful in sorting, and pieces overlayed on completed portions do not get swallowed as a new piece is placed,,,,but would like to have the ability to place pieces where I want them to go as I sort,,,not jump to the nearest piece on the board. It would be awesome to be able to view a completed puzzle for more than 2 seconds before it disappears and the ability to change background and tray colors would be extremely helpful. I bought the full version of the app and am enjoying the lack of frequent obnoxious zombie and war game advertisements. I have not explored the multiple little assists, nor have I used any of them, so I cannot evaluate their use at all. Overall, it’s a nice puzzle app with good quality photos, great piece choices, a decent zoom feature, and reasonably priced.
ColorPlanet - Annoying ads even while solving. Sideways. Nice puzzles, usual set-up. Pieces in tray at bottom, 2 layers that move independently. Weird things pop up sometimes, no clue why. they go to even more ads. Weird darker colored squares appear on board. Apparently when you fit the pieces over this, you get coins. Edge pieces have slim border. Little tophat icon changes backgrounds. Wand shows weird stuff. Pieces flash when connecting. 9.99 to get rid of ads. Deleted. Restored to check out further, write review. Not any particularly attractive features to set this one apart or make it worth paying to remove ads which pop up approximately every 2 seconds, it seems. Tiles are pretty, however, have almost the look of the tiles in Relax Puzzles app. Puzzles are beautiful and plentiful. Pieces do not freeze in place. You also have jewels next to the coins at top right, these can unlock puzzles. But I'm not sure what you do to earn jewels, or if they must be bought.
I have enjoyed your puzzles for quite a while now. You have a nice assortment of topics, great color and easy instructions however, one glitch has popped up since your last upgrade…my screen has started freezing up. It will come back to normal after waiting a few minutes but, it’s extremely distracting. I hope this problem can be rectified quickly? A quick update: I did finally hear from your customer service department….I had already figured out the problem. It was actually a very simple overlook on my part. Thank you for responding….all is well in ColorPlanet Puzzle Land! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ July 2022 update….since this most recent update the ads have become more than annoying! There are many more than before popping up everywhere, including in the middle of puzzles I am working on. Not a happy camper. PLEASE FIX THIS or, is it just your way of forcing customers to pay for NO ADS?.. ⭐️⭐️
I will no longer recommend this app. The changes you say that are supposed to make the app better are only making it worse. Why did you change something that most people loved? Why is there no longer a horizontal picture? Also where did the lighter colors in the tray that holds the puzzle pieces go? You fixed that a couple of months ago now that’s gone too. That change only lasted about two months. The tray is so dark that you can’t see the darker pieces in it. You are obviously not reading the comments of the people who use and support this app. I have paid for this app but am very disappointed and am sorry I wasted the $10 dollars. Please read the comments and stop making random changes that no one has asked for or wants. This could have been a wonderful puzzle app.
I read other reviews but decided to try it anyway…..things others have a problem with are not necessarily things that bother me. That being said, they were right. It only took me doing the first puzzle to realize I wasn’t going to put time into doing these puzzles before I deleted the app. The tray holding the puzzle pieces being dark is ridiculous. Too hard to find matches when you’re looking for dark pieces….couldn’t even distinguish end pieces……had to keep pulling them into the large tray to see if they were end pieces or not. You know, I would think this would be a easy fix…..but even with all the complaints…..it hasn’t changed. All I can say is it’s too bad, because the pictures really are pretty good.
I like this app. Beautiful pictures and the pieces fit together very well. But to get a five from me there are a few changes that you need to make. The puzzle apps I like have a way to get the edge pieces without going through all the pieces. They also allow me to change the background color so the pieces are easier to see. I need to change the background on the puzzle itself and on the tray. And I need to be able to change the background colors while I am working on the puzzle. These changes would make this app just about perfect. Thanks for creating this great app for adults. I am going to delete most of my other puzzle apps now that I have found this one.
My one star rating is for the beautiful pictures you offer in this app, however, I am deleting this app because of the pop-up ads. You cannot work your puzzle for ads continually popping up. Other puzzle apps let you finish your chosen puzzle befor displaying ads. These ads are so annoying that they get you so frustrated and working puzzles is suppose to be stress releasing but the continual ads cause more stress. I also agree with the other users concerning the piece tray being too dark. I always change the background color to a much lighter color but there is no way to change the piece tray. It is so dark that you cannot see the actual shape of the piece. Someone really needs to review this app and make several improvements in order for it to be user friendly.
I can’t claim to have checked every jigsaw puzzle app available for the iPad, but I have downloaded 4 or 5 and this app had been far and away my favorite…that is until a recent update that changed the format from landscape to portrait. Not only is it more uncomfortable to hold my iPad for the new portrait mode (at least for me), the smaller puzzle workspace means the puzzle pieces are quite a bit smaller and more difficult to use. While some users may prefer the new changes, I’m disappointed that there isn’t a configuration setting that allows a person to choose which orientation they want to use. I’m afraid I won’t be using this app if portrait mode is the only option available.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. After completing the last app update, I cannot rotate the iPad to the wide screen. The tall screen interferes with the off button at the bottom left and turning iPad around interferes with battery plugin. I really have enjoyed this app, but now, due to your latest “fixes,” I will have to find another app.
Loved their puzzles before - play on my iPad - new update forces you to play in vertical position instead of horizontal. Puzzle pieces are now on bottom of screen instead of side. Also puzzle solving area is much smaller. Loved before - now I’ll delete. Too bad You have had MANY similar complaints since new update. Main complaint is not being to play in horizontal position on iPad. Are you planning to accommodate all your loyal users who are upset?? Asking again - are you planning to change app to allow both landscape and portrait solving. We new landscape option back!!!!
I love the game, a lot. At least I did - If I am doing something wrong please let me know Devs!! My problem is that since the new update 3 days a go I think, the puzzles are now vertical on my iPad - so the puzzles are now a lot smaller to work on. I always have my iPad hooked up to a keyboard, so my iPad is horizontal most of the time - not vertical. So now I have to turn the iPad to put the puzzles together - Don’t like it as now the puzzle is smaller to work on. I can rotate my iPad all I want and it just wont stay horizontal. Is there a setting that I need to change? Sadly, if this can’t get figured out then I wont be playing anymore.
I have absolutely LOVED this app!!!!! But tonight when I went into it, it won’t go horizontal. I rebooted and it still didn’t help. I did pay for this app, so hopefully you will fix it. I like the choice of puzzles in this app, but don’t play it very often because the very dark background that you’re stuck with makes it difficult if the puzzle is also dark. I like to look at the completed puzzle, but yours disappears too quickly. Update: Thanks for telling me how to change background colors! I’d still like to view my completed puzzle for more than a second!
This app has great puzzles that could be fun to put together except both sides of the puzzle were missing! I kid you not! So I put together the middle and then the sides of the puzzle and puzzle pieces appeared. Strange. Also whenever I hit the top of the puzzle for any reason, the puzzle immediately went to an ad. The area where the puzzle pieces are kept is quite dark making it hard to see some of the puzzle pieces. Finally it was hard to move the pieces out of the holding area to use in the puzzle. I’m deleting this app and sticking to my other puzzle apps. They might not have such great pictures but at least their apps work.
Debating whether to keep—— I like rotating puzzle pieces but no matter how lite the touch you cannot make a quarter turn it spins 1/2 etc so u have to retap one or more times to get the correct position and for me it’s getting very irritating All the pluses of your app are countless against this if I get irritated and stressed instead of relaxing and enjoying myself. I’ll wait a while in the hope this is a fixable issue and can be resolved in your next update. Otherwise this app is 100% everything a person wants in a puzzle You are to be CONGRATULATED on your Talent and Success
Why is puzzle now in portrait view instead of landscape? Harder to play on ipad this way. Would have given a 4 because of ads, but now a 2 because of change in view The size and background were not an issue. I like la escape view because I can prop my iPad that way when working a puzzle. My iPad won’t prop in portrait view. Haven’t played since new features added so can’t comment on them.
We did not ask for more features,we don’t want to zoom, pinch or use star props to help complete a puzzle. What we want is what we had, to relax and complete puzzles in landscape with the puzzle pieces on the side so we don’t have to awkwardly hold our iPad up to build the puzzle. I found this app over a year ago after another puzzle app switched the pieces to the bottom but at least they kept landscape. I can not use this app as is, I’ll have to find a new one or revert back to one I can use a little better than yours! I’m very disappointed with this update!
Game is pretty good. It works very well. However, it really needs a couple of features. First is to allow a quick peak of the picture being solved. Right now, you have to quit and reopen in order to see it. Second it would be nice to have multiple loose piece areas, so you can organize the pieces easier. Third would be to allow even more pieces. Right now, 768 is the max.
It is difficult to review a site such as this after completing just one puzzle. My first impression is that it is not as user friendly as another site I have been utilizing. I am not pleased completing half a puzzle at a time. and also wish the level of difficulty could be controlled by the user by determining the number of pieces in a given puzzle. I will continue to use the site and, with use, hope I have the opportunity to amend this review.
I agree with other reviewers: 1) background color of tray should be same as background puzzle and 2) should be able to access picture of puzzle while doing puzzle, and 3) need more choices for background colors. I like the colors and choices of free puzzles, especially for seniors like me who is 76 years old. If you can make these changes, I will give it a 5 star.
I love the various puzzle images, particularly the paintings, and work them every day. The only thing that would make this app better would be if we could change the background color on the right, same as on the rest of the board.
The puzzles are attractive and fun to play. However, there is no sound or background music. Also, ads pop up continuously and cannot be bypassed. It’s very confusing and difficult to return to the puzzle. Please correct this. Additionally, I forewarn app developers that disgusting ads will not be tolerated. Ads for reality show games with spouses abusing one another or having illicit affairs and cruelly laughing at the pain caused to family members are not entertainment. If these ads continue to show up, your game will be deleted from my iPad.
Very frustrated by having no idea what the picture is. I am doing another one “Jigsaw HD” and you can get a quick glance of the completed picture. Though it took much longer, I wasn’t as frustrated by that puzzle. It was enjoyable and longer at the same amount of pieces… but this was a montage of confusion for me. At least put a shot of the photo where you can see it even if it is small.
I like to do puzzles and these are very nice puzzles. The new update only allows you to do puzzles in portrait whereas I much prefer landscape. Looking for a new puzzle program until this is fixed. Update: Heard from developer about pinching and stars and magic hat. I don’t care about any of those things. I just like working my puzzles in landscape since-portrait is too small a work area. I think I’ve found an alternate puzzle that I can use.
I e been doing these puzzles for some time. I enjoy the relaxation and variety. Gave you 5 stars. I do have a question though. Why are there no more new packages of puzzles to buy? I have 280,318 coins that I can spend and have bought almost all of the packages.
One of my favorite things about this app was being able to do the puzzles while my iPad was in it’s protective case, which also doubles as a stand. The stand holds the iPad in landscape mode. Now the puzzle app only works in portrait mode, it will NOT rotate to landscape. I will not use the app now, it is not comfortable. Why change the fact that it could be used either way, to only one way now? Sent an email weeks ago to customer service, have not gotten a reply. Not happy.
I love the puzzles - colorful and lots of variety. I also appreciate being able to change the background color of the puzzle board. The only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is that I can’t choose a different color background in the puzzle pieces tray on the right side of the board. Thanks for an otherwise fantastic product!
I love your puzzles but it was just updated today..i used to be able to turn the puzzles on my iPad the other way around to work on them but I can’t get it to do that now since the update..can you fix this? Doesn’t work by turning my iPad..
Two criticisms. It doesn’t allow me to play lengthwise, even when rotating my screen. Pieces don’t move as quickly….they don’t hold still while doing so. I’ve recently switched from iPad to iPad Pro. So not sure if this is part of the reason.
I used to love this app until the recent change. Absolutely hate it now that I can’t work in landscape mode. Portrait mode is so hard on the wrist. This app was my favorite; now it’s no longer enjoyable. Don’t understand why they felt the need to make this change. There response to our complaints is that they have added more features. What they don’t understand is that they have taken away the one feature we all liked and wanted.
I’ve looked in setting and everywhere I can think to look_I don’t understand why I can’t play downloaded music while doing puzzles.. I can on most apps..Am i missing something?
Really liked this app and the puzzles but now when I turn my iPad I cannot do it in landscape mode! Don’t like the narrower version, harder to see and also don’t like the pieces on the bottom, much better on the side. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it! Received an answer back from the developers but I have deleted the app, sorry but in my opinion they ruined it..
I don’t understand this app at all. It takes too long to get a puzzle to work with. First I have to wade through all the puzzles it wants me to purchase. Then when I finally get a puzzle to work with it gives me a few pieces to use and nothing to reference as to what it is I’m looking at. When I place the pieces it locks them automatically. I don’t even need to touch them. I’ve seen nothing but 5 star reviews on this app. Who are these people? I’d like to ask them how they got this to work.
Who’s bright idea was it to interrupt your concentration with an ad? Who thought this was a good idea when working a puzzle? Now grant it I didn’t even finish the first one except the edging and the puzzle was only about 20 pieces start to finish, but had it been like the ones I’m accustomed to putting together, large, and tedious, and I was interrupted by an ad, that would have ended it for me. And so with that being said, I’m done with this puzzle. Btw, that one star is a minus. Not a plus.
Puzzles are all now up and down instead of side to side with the piece tray at the bottom instead of the right side. What the heck! Loved this app but this is a terrible new feature. Please put it back or at least give the option which way to work! Real bummer. Was 5 star before, but really dislike working up and down! At least give the option of which way to work the puzzle.
I’m 77 and do a lot of puzzles online. Your pictures seem really great but the section where the puzzle pieces are kept is way too dark also you don’t have a site to show what the puzzle looks like while you’re putting the puzzle together. Another thing is the amount of pieces how about putting more options for puzzle pieces. Sorry but I’m going to delete your puzzle but I’ll check back in the future to see if you’ve made any changes
I agree with another user that while the background change choice for the puzzle itself is a great feature (and a very good selection of art to choose from) it is hard to see dark pieces on the dark background on the puzzle piece tray below
I have a beautiful and happy dog. His name is Bambi. He likes to play outside. I was worry looking for him. And finally I found Bambi playing in the grass. I love these puzzles but I have had to reinstall twice as the app freezes in the middle of a puzzle. I have tried everything and it continues to happen. Any fixes out there?
I am with everyone else WHY did you change a great app! You explain there improvements or enhancements. I don’t see them so not sure what you did but screw up one of the best puzzle apps out there. At least get it to turn to landscape. Also I can’t get my pieces to move easily from the tray. The tray keeps sliding as I move around the board and the bottom row pieces don’t go up to the puzzle when selected. Very frustrating game now.
Guess with your last update, you only allow portrait mode. Hoping you will reconsider or allow users to download an earlier version. This was my favorite puzzle and I have a few others. I will no longer be playing if portrait mode is the only option. (Your portrait mode is actually worse than other puzzles on my iPad Pro.) I would have rated a 5 prior to this change.
I loved this game and would have given it five stars but they took the landscape view away I play this on my IPad and prefer that view. If it’s not changed back, I will be deleting because I’ve found two other puzzle apps that I’m using.
Failure to get coins for my awards and puzzles completed
Failure to get awards: Didn’t get a lot of rewards cause it would not load the ad to complete it. It said failed to load ad try again but each time I tried it still wouldn’t load. I check my internet And my internet was fine. So it’s in the app. Also it freezes sometimes. Please check my acct and reimburse my awards thank you as they were alot of them. I completed over 27 puzzles.
The puzzles are great, the ads not so much, get to the middle of a puzzle, here comes an ad! Finish a puzzle another add, total your winnings, another add! Seems like every time you turn around, there an ad! I understand ads are necessary, but not this many for 1 puzzle!
Would like to see more options as a pause, scatter, etc. Would like to see all the pieces around the puzzle instead of a few columns on the right. Perhaps I’m just missing something. However, is free and fun and I love the wonderfully bright colors. Anyhoo, overall a great selection of puzzles.
I was enjoying using this app but after awhile it would freeze and I couldn’t move any pieces. Then it would crash completely. I would delete it and, wait awhile then download again. But after awhile it would do the same thing. It has some really nice scenes in it.
