Overall Gret

This game is quite fun and I enjoy playing it, however, I've came across some bugs/ crashes usually related to my house. Sometimes if I quickly go in to recharge my energy and try to quickly go back out to finsih a quest my game freezes and the character is stuck running towards the door. I had to restart my laptop a few times becasue there was no way to exit from that. I don't have a problem using the keyboard controls and got adjusted them pretty fast, I do reccommend having a seperate mouse though because certain clicks don't work well with the macbook touchpad. One thing I find frustrating is how expensive it is to unlock new biomes and it's really tedius to try and grind enough points to unlock these biomes. 15k points for a biome is ridiculous in my opinion. Constantly trying to grind money and points makes the game less fun for me and makes me not want to play it. Overall, yeah theres some improvements needed but I'm a disney fan and this is making my childhood self really happy. I don't regret purchasing this! But please fix the house bug and stop making things so expensive in the game.

Better than the Switch!

I have this on the Switch, but playing it was a hassle with all the bugs and crashes. Playing it on the Mac, I'm on a MacBook Air with the M2 chip and 512 SSD; 8GB, 10 Core. I've loved playing it on the Mac so far. There are still some crashes but very few in comparison to the Switch. The graphics have been great and the ease of decorating using a mouse and the keyboard is a game-changer for me. I'm a big Disney-adult, so this has been one of my favorite games this year.

As a Disney adult = Obsessed

Okay, I'm basically a certified "Disney Adult" because I have a WDW AP, so I feel qualified to review this game. Also, I've played since it first came out to the public over a year ago - and I haven't stopped since. In all seriousness though, I adore this game. There are so many sweet little moments in the storyline and some serious topics that are handled so maturely and just correctly, this game just makes me feel so safe and welcomed. Also, there are so many things to do, even if you complete the main storyline and all of your character quests, there is constantly something else you can improve on or re-do just for fun. And I mean this in the way that isn't the overwhelming, "I'm exhausted with this game because I can't keep up" kind of way, but in the "This game is so fun because there's always something to do" kind of way. I love this game and I look forward to each and every update.

Love it when it works

So, the Switch version was so very glitchy and the graphics were awful. This lead me to repurchase this game for my Mac. I loved the change. My game works very well, very few freeze issues, the graphics are beuatiful, the interface with a game controller is great. All that said...I don't know if it's the app developer's fault, or Apple's fault, but having to wait for updates like this current December update, as well as the brand new DLC is RIDICULOUS. Seriously?!?!?! The rest of the world is playing and streaming and posting, and I'm having to dodge spoilers everywhere. If it's Apple needing to be so very controlling over their environment, they need to GET OVER IT. If it's the world once again hating on Apple, well, Apple's products don't fail me after 2 years like other PCs... These two companies need to get their stuff together and figure out how to not make Mac users feel like second class citizens

My second platform

If your woried about getting this game on mac don't be! I played it on my switch for a year before getting it on here as well. Most people know this game on any platfrom has a rep for having issue with glitches and whatnot, but they arn't as bad anymore, and the game runs great on mac. I think it's only ever shut down on me once, and the only major glitch I've run into is the issue with lights not turning on automatically at night, but that's a multiplatform issue right now with the game, it's not specific to this version. I definately prefer it on here to on switch and can gladly recomend it, being somebody that has played the game for the entirety of the time it's been out.

Addicted

I'm not much of a gamer, not since I was a kid. TikTok got me to read again (haven't read since probably Divergent Series) and now I'm gaming. I love Disney and thre's always something to do in this game. However, as I skim through some reviews, I see people complaining about glitches. Everyone needs to realize that this game is still in "beta" mode/early access, so there's bound to be glitches. I was going to wait until the game came out free, but caved and bought (first on xbox) it twice to play on my Mac at work during my down time. That's how addicting this game is and I know I'm not the only one that's bought it twice.

Basically Kingdom Hearts

It's basically kingdom hearts. You're a non Disney character running around with Disney characters doing quests and collecting. I do love this game though, I've got a lot of hours on the game between my Switch, Xbox, and now my Macbook. I'm glad that it is on my Macbook because I can at least carry my computer to and from work. It's got Cloud Save so i can easily play on another device if I wanted to. It's highly recommeneded if you want to play something. One issue is, the game is/can be quite grindy. If you're a gamer, its perfect for you.

Cute, but Crashes

The premise of the game is cute, and even as an adult I like having a game that doesn't increase my stress to play it. However, the Mac version of this doesn't seem to be totally ready for prime time. I find as upgrade milestones are hit, more often than not it completely freezes, requiring a force quit. I've waited a little bit before leaving this review hoping the issues would be addressed, but it seems Gameloft is more interested in pumping seasonal content rather than making sure they have a stable platform first. I'm on an M1 Max MBP with 32 GB of RAM, I have no shortage of system resources for this game to take advantage of.

Underrated and Over Criticized

This game is honestly great. It gives me Kingdom Hearts vibes when I visit the different realms, and I love how each biome is decorated so well. I enjoy the creative freedom to make the valley and isle look how I want them to. There are numerous mini-goals - catching all the fish, collecting all the critters, completing all the Dreamlight/Mist duties - and that in combination with the gardening aspect, the main quests, Remy's restaurant, and so much more --- I'm never bored! Keep it up, Disney and GameLoft. :)

wont connect to internet!

i like the game overall as i play on other platforms HOWEVER! trying to play on mac is infuriating because it wont connect to online services at all so no store, no dreamsnaps, no item shop, no events what so ever while trying to play here on mac. realistically my whole game is rendered useless because i cant cloud save! i have messaged gameloft about the issue and they really werent helpful at all. i have now deleted and reinstalled the game as they instructed me to do and it did not solve the issue and they pretty much left me with an "oh well" response. not very happy at all because ive got $60 now into a game i cant play.

New gamer review: OBSESSED & love it (plus a pro tip)

Like other reviews, I do come across some crashes and bugs but as someone who isn't an avid gamer and purchased this game for fun, I am very impresssed. If you're a disney fan, you will LOVE this game. I love the music, characters, story line, and quests. PRO TIP: I am someone who loves to use my macbook air in bed and cozy game but you cannot rotate furniture, so I reccomend buying a bluetooth mouse, it really helps.

It worked amazing up until recently

I used to LOVE it on mac. Now, I keep getting an error message that says, ”Cannot connect to online services. Continue playing in offline mode” and I've tried absolutely everything to fix it. It's frustrating because I have so much save data I've played offline when it stopped working and I can't save it to my cloud save so it's not even worth switching back to switch, plus I purchased the star path and can't even enjoy it now without the online features. Please fix this gameloft! I beg!

one of my favs

I love this game. There are some glitches but its still in early access so thats to be expected. Major bugs and glitches are usually fixed pretty quickly. My biggest issue has been when playing on switch and my game crashes occasionally. But that has gotten better with updates. I play pretty much daily and have no intentions of stopping.

Great game

I absolutely love this game! It has such a good story line, the design is so well done. There are a couple of bugs here and there, such as the game crashing randomly or the characters getting stuck in different spots for no apparent reason. But, despite these bugs it is still one of my favorite games and I will forever and always recommend!!

Amazing but very blurry (I don't have bad eyesight)

This game overall is 5 stars but it is very blurry for me. I have tried everything like restarting my computer, going into settings and trying to fix it, ect. I would really appritiate if you would look into it because it has been like this for about 3 days for me. Thank you!

Can't Connect to Online Services

It's been over a week that I havent been able to connect and use online features. Complely missing out on DreamSnaps and the October/Halloween Star Path. Reached out to GameLoft and they said to connect using a cellular hotspot or a wired connection. I've tried both and neither will work. This is only happening to Mac users. PS5 and Nintendo both work fine on my end. I haven't seen any other users report server problems via Reddit or Discord. Please help or update ASAP

So Magical

I truly am the biggest Disney fan of all, so I had high hopes when downloading this game. I was not dissapointed at all. It is so magical and really showcases each character so well. My favorite character so far is Olaf, but I am still waiting for Belle and the Beauty and the Beast Realm. I cant wait to see whats in store for this amazing game. I rate this a 10/10!! <3

Overall: LAGS/FREEZES HAVE TO FORCE QUIT BUT STILL GOOD TO PLAY WHEN YOU CAN. I recently got a mac so I decided to get this on mac. I read the reviews a lot saying it crashes or just freezes. In the beginning it was fine nothing serious overall great. Kept playing it and now it does freeze a bit and I have to force quit and reopen it. Doesn't bother me as much but it can get annoying. I hope they fix this.

Mostly Great

The game itself is a lot of fun to play, I've sunk more hours into it that I would have thought. So far I've had good luck running it, only a few crashes usually related to using the map, but not too bad. Also I would strongly recommend using a controller, the keyboard controls are too cumbersome.

Do not purchase on Mac!

I purchased this game on Steam for Mac but it wouldn't work and they wouldn't give me a refund. Then I bought it on Switch. Love the actual game but Switch has major bugs. Then I bought a new Mac in order to meet the requirements of an M1 or M2 chip to play. When you purchase moonstones, you won't receive them until you submit a ticket and wait over a week for them to research your receipts. Now the game keeps closing and I have to wait a week for the ticket I submitted to get a response.

Newest update

I love the game but its upsetting I cannot play the new update etc because I am using my MAC. I literally have to stay off facebook because I don't want spoilers. I am also sad because of the star path I wont get enought time to complete it. I'm just overall upset that i don't have access. I didn't have this issue last couple updates. And the fact that there is no concrete day when it will be avaiable makes it seem like they don't have a clue themsel es when it will available

Love

I love the game minus the bugs and crashes. Suggestion: In the memory frames we should be able to put pictures we take with our cameras and/ or the selection of memories.

Amazing, But Problems.

I loved this game as soon as I got it! I waited for months for it to come out on mac and it finally did! I am having problems though, my player id wont pop up when i click it and when i click cloud save nothing pops up. it makes it very hard to play the game and i cant contact customer support because my player id isnt poping up.

Absolute Fun!

I love this game and I am not really a "gamer". Easy going and enjoyable. One thing tho -- why does the App store not have access to the other editions? (Deluxe and Ultimate) like the otherplatforms? Will there be a oppurtunity to "upgrade"? in the future? I play this on my PS4 and Mac (which PS does not allow crossplay)

Unplayable

I love the game, but since the game has released I have had one issue after another- constant bugs. Now the game is basically unplayable on Mac because it will not connect to the internet. I originally had the game on my Nintendo Switch but it is just as bad over there. I thought switching to the Mac would be better. I paid for the game a second time after they changed course and said the game would not be free to play. I hate I wasted my money.

Won't connect to online servers

I LOVED the game bought it and the expansion pack and I havent been able to play it for months due to not being able to connect to servers. I can play apple arcade version but I have to start from the beginning and I lose the hundreds of hours put into the game to make the progress I had and I dont have the extra missions i had from getting the Ursula and WallE pack that I had gotten on the purchased version.

Used to be Decent.... So Disappointing

This game used to work perfectly on my Mac, but for some reason it keeps saying it can't connect me to the internet even though my computer has a stable internet connection. This is extremely frustrating. I can't connect to the cloud save, the event page, or the store. This needs to be fixed immediately, especially with another update scheduled for release next week.

Love it

I have in on my macbook air and my switch. I play on both. Decorating and designs on the mabook are much easier. I'm still getting used to the controls but what i like to do is decorate on the mac and then do the quests on my switch.

Love This Game ! BUT.....

Been playing since early release and i love the game. But the Devs ignore the game on this platform , updates are late in comparison to other platforms, bug fixes tkae extremley long and there arent any forums specifically to address the issues on MAC. ive purchased the expansion and ive been unable to access the game servers in 30 days , i cant access star paths , save via cloud or open blue chests. very frustrating knowing ive put money into this. i really love this game.

Cant Connect to Internet

For some reason I cannot login to my cloud save for quite some time. Always says I'm not connected to the internet even though I am. Uninstalled, reinstalled several times. I bought this version specifically to play on the computer and now I can't even access it. Lots of others are saying the same

can't play

i am severely frustrated because i have this game on my switch - game is unplayable with all the crashes. i also have the game on my mac - cannot play because it cannot connect to the internet to update my cloud save or access the shop and event. i also have it on my steam deck where it plays best, but i cannot dock the game and use a mouse. i have given so much money to this game and can hardly even play it. PLEASE FIX YOUR GAME.

Disney Lovers Unite

This game is everything you can hope for if youre a fan od Disney and Comfy games. Its Animal Crossing and Disney's love child. It is in early release so some bugs are to be expected. Besides that i reccomeded this to anyone looking for a game to play, enjoy, and relax too.

I have been playing this game since just about the beginning, I have purchased the game technically twice Switch & Mac OS I love having cloud save so that I can just switch to any device ( Xbox, switch & Mac ) It is a great escape and so much fun!!

Can't connect online

For more than a week the game hasn't been able to connect online and their support team keeps giving people the run around instead of actualy diving in deep to find out the root cause of the issue and fixing it. They keep giving very basic macro responses and trying to place the issue on Apple. The issue is with THEM. Very dissapointing that they are not taking this serious.

Crashing Never Ends

For the first couple weeks I had this game it ran so well, maybe one or two crashes. The last couple days (since unlocking the forgotten biome) it crashes literally every two minutes and doesn't save any progress. It's just so upsetting because I spent so much money on this game. For refrence I have a Macbook Air with an M2 chip. I really need this issue fixed so I can play my favorite game.

Like this game but it stopped connecting to WIFI

This game stopped connecting to WIFI...while reading other reviews it seems a lot of people have this same issue. I will probably stop playing if it doesn't get fixed.

won't connect to online services

I haven't been able to do anything for quite some time that requires connecting to the internet. that includes the daily chests. everything claims to be updated but cannot play the game as intended. if you can get this game on any other platfrom go for it.

wont stop crashing

for reference I play on a 2023 M2 MacBook pro with 32 GB memory, this game used to run perfectly with no lag or crashing but all of a sudden it started crashing more and more frequently this week. the crashes seem completely random and it's at a point where it's completely unplayable now crashing almost every 5 minutes.

Love this game, but...

I love this game, but I have not been able to get online and use online functionality for a couple months now. It works just fine on my desktop PC (Windows), but not my Mac. I can't even sign in to my cloud save.

1 star for the App Store, I guess

I already have the game for my Xbox, but since it's cross platform, I wanted to play at my computer when convenient. I made sure I checked the description, and the Mac App Store states "Will work on this computer," but after spending the $30, downloading, and trying to open it, I get a message telling me that it DOES NOT WORK on my computer. SMH. How do I get refunded?

Glitches and no support!

Been contacting Disney Dreamlight Valley and the given Gameloft app support and have received no responses AT ALL! Reached out on social media asking for help and was ignored. The Mac version doesn't support claim codes, so there's whole quests we cannot do! It's ridiculous. Not to mention the glitches are so bad they should be paying us to test this game and fix all the bugs.

Not working

It has not been working since last june. It claims i have no wifi when i do, and i have done everything i can think of. Unplugging the router, restarting the computer, everything. It is $30 down the drain and i cant even do anything about it.

unplayable if you get motion sick

I've played this on other platforms, and while the camera's not great, motion sickness was not an issue for me as long as the the camera sensitivity was set on low. With the mac version, camera sensitivity makes no difference. I played for less than 10 minutes and was so sick. Absoultely do not buy this if you have any motion sensitivity.

Truly a Masterpiece

people may complain about the high cost of biomes and upgrades but i love that this is a game i can really put time into and enjoy

Just fine

For the love of god, if you are going to have us do so many freaking cooking quests where we have to cook multiples of the same thing, LET US MAKE MULTIPLE BATCHES AT ONCE. Having to make one batch at a time when each character requests five batches each is incredibly tedious and annoying.

Overall fun, but the freezing is killing me

It is my favorite game, but it is very frustrating when I get things done and then all of a sudden it freezes and I have to restart the game and do what I got done all over again

Did not work

I was really excited to find out that this game was available on mac so I made sure it would work on mine before purchasing. I am not sure why it says it will work because after I payed the $30 it comes up with an error saying it is not supported on my mac even though the bottom portion claims it is.

Fun Game, Even in Early Access!
