Reliable After Over a Year but one hugeee issue.....
I bought a DJI spark in august of 2019 and ever since I’ve never really had any bug issues with the app. Maybe crashed once or twice ever but other than that, with my iPhone XR, it has worked quite well. But no fly zones, don’t get me started. You see rants about them everywhere and I can understand why. Hate to bash DJI but in what right mind should a drone be able to take off with GPS connected, be seemingly no where near an NFZ on any map, then be flying out over a lake around 100 yards away from takeoff and suddenly claim I’m flying in an NFZ. I Almsot lost my drone that day, completely lost GPS and live camera feed, barely made it back using just line of sight. I just don’t get it man. It’s one thing if No Fly Zones are announced prior to take off but you really think practically disabling my drone out of nowhere is going to prevent the catastrophic event of my aircraft hitting a plane 100 feet off the ground? Lol you gotta to be crazy if this is the only alternative DJI and the FAA can think of. THERE MUST BE A MIDDLE GROUND. Some NFZ are so ridiculous, I lived nearly 35 miles away from Newark airport when this event took place, shouldn’t there be a hight limit or some sort of compromise where we can fly freely in reasonable areas? Please DJI if you see this, do something about it, it’s a serious issue faced by a majority of DJI product users and I hate to practically see my money go to waste. Thanks, Jerry

When in flight iPad mini 4 live footage cuts off all the time
I been flying for 2 years or more also have 70 plus hours flying and I started off with phantom 3 standard, crashed it human error, but never had a problem with that drone or app. I bought the phantom 4 and use an iPad mini 4, well my live feed keeps cutting out after the first upgrade. Never done it the first 2 weeks I owned the p4 using the same iPad mini 4. Now it cuts off or glitch’s all through the flight. I’ve changed cords etc... u name it, I’ve done it and still the same problem. They worry about the mavics and the other little drones they make instead of the ones that made them who they are today(phantoms) they sure need to start taking care of the phantoms and their problems. Spend more time on the phantoms so they to won’t have an issue or issues. Other than the live feed glitches it has been a pleasure flying!!

Not reliable
The DJI go 4 app is hit and miss if I’m not having a problem updating my flight record then I’m having problems with my transmission.I attempted to fly my dji spark 4/3/19 with my iPad & my iPhone 6s+ and both kept saying bad transmission signal to weak turn off nearby Bluetooth; the Bluetooth on my phone, iPod, my wife’s iPhone, my surround sound bar inside etc. with no luck I just gave use and it’s crazy because I jus was flying long distance 4/1/19 from my helipad in my front yard. I was so frustrated I didn’t not attempt to launch my dji Mavic air into the sky. I didn’t contact dji today I hate having to speak with the most times I cannot understand them and it seems most knows nothing about the products they look up the information online while you are on hold forever. I’m going to attempt to call them tomorrow if the problem persists I’m really dreading it because I’ve had to return the remote before only for them to not be able to replace the broken charger port, thank god I placed insurance on the drone when I purchased it the insurance company wrote a check for the price of a new remote. I know my insurance is up but it worth attempting to get it checked it’s in perfect visual condition I’ve had her over 2 years with no accidents.

Liked their products hate their software
The biggest problem with DJI is that their software game makes it incredibly difficult to use their products. You have pretty much have bought a fancy brick, unless you sign in, and agree to their terms and update, their software and firmware, pair the devices again, and the calibrate, every time you try to use your device and now oh no! your battery is dying already, never mind the fact that you missed the magical shot you had just gotten an opportunity to take 15 minutes ago when you grabbed your gear! Also of not is the fact that the majority of these tasks require a signal, so if you’ve got a dedicated device as a monitor or camera (like an old iPhone) that doesn’t have cellular connection, or you’re out in the woods, on location, or just somewhere without a WiFi connection capability, you’re equipment is dead weight. I’m not really exaggerating, their software is such a hassle to use that it goes beyond frustrating and hinders your ability to actually use their devices. Whether it be the Osmo series, the drones, the ronins, you end up with the same experience, you’re spending more time trying to set it up every time you want to use it than you will actually using it.

Dji go 4 crashes all day long
First. For such of expensive product Mavic pro or pro 2, this application should work flawless, no hiccups one so ever, I purchased the drone with the best desire to have on the air right away, i downloaded the app and as soon as I started the new account process on the app, the app crashed, I though it was a faulty download, so I deleted it, reset my mobile and started downloading it again, I did this 4 times with no successful registration due to the annoying crashes of the add. Then I look for information on the dji forum and I found comments about this crashing app from months ago, like what the heck? For a unit that cost over $1000, this company can’t deliver an app that work and enhance the drone experience. So now I’m so disappointed, can’t fly the unit above 16-18 feet high, as it shows limitations that need to be completed or set using the app. If I use another app to fly the unit , it will void my warranty. What it the deal with this ??? With some many people working remotely, can’t dji put a team of app developers together and have this working properly.....!!!!!. I can’t even review the app itself because i can’t even do the registration.

Was once broken - Now seems fine
I recently purchased a Spark. Super awesome drone, especially since it’s so small. It is precise and hovers. A large upgrade from the $80 Walmart drone I had before. The app was nice, I had experience with it and the Inspire 2. But it kept crashing over and over. Just as people mention in the reviews. But after a recent update, it has worked flawlessly. It even seems to drain less battery on my phone than usual. I would give it five stars, but because this crashing problem lasted about a month, it’s somewhat crushing to that fifth star. The Spark costs a few hundred dollars. Our Inspire two after all cameras and batteries is about 6K. Not to mention that we use two Inspires for most shoots. Bad for having problems. Good for fixing it quickly. I love the fun options on the drone. It makes taking simple and fun shots so easy. And their is also so much available maneuvering, so that one can do their own thing if they want. It goes fast, and is very quiet.

Works well in flight, auto editing is useful
Never had any problem in understanding the app and its functions. It’s really clear even when you have to deal with stressful situations in flight. The store needs more variety, there is no accessories I can find, only flagship products. Really don't care about the social media part of it. Most complaints I see here and in forums are about HARDWARE limitations or misuse. Despite being a movie industry professional for 20 years, I really like the auto editing features even though half the automatic scene choices I have to fine tune. I wish there are longer clips to choose from in this function, an ample selection of filters and more styles/music to select. Most of my flights are not supposed to be masterpieces of cinematography, I just want to escape from the ground a little while and toy around and this autonomous features make these flights more likely to be documented. Another suggestion: The interface does well its job, but lets face it - its really boring! How about something like “skins” to choose from? Something more aggressive like from a jet plane, or minimalistic and uncluttered for better viewing experiences or even “fantasy” like an alien ship? You can sell these, people will pay for it because not everyone takes itself too seriously. Anyway, keep the good work, guys. Looking forward for the next generation of DJI products.

Definitely happy
I’ve had my drone for a few months now and have had zero issues with the app. My only problem is with the simulation mode. I’d like to be able to practice without having to turn on the actual drone. I mean, what’s the point? Other drone apps have very different controls, so that makes them irrelevant for me. But they have great courses and game play. I’d like to see DJI give us different flight modes and obstacles so that we can practice navigating around virtual things, instead of subjecting my new drone to real damage. After all, one battery lasts for a whopping 15 minutes, when in reality you need multiple hours to get comfortable. Anyway, I’m otherwise super happy with the app, haven’t had any crashes or glitches of any kind yet. I flew it out of range once(didn’t have controller yet), but that was my own problem. Connectivity hasn’t been an issue, despite flying in a densely populated city with plenty of interference.

Updates are a doom loop
I can’t believe how utterly terrible this app is with regards to getting “Fly Safe” updates. You have two choices: 1) constantly switch Wi-Fi networks between your home Wi-Fi and the drone Wi-Fi, or 2) burn through a TON of cellular data. It is maddening how clumsy the process is. The app will not even check for updates unless it is connected (via Wi-Fi) to the drone, but then to use your home Wi-Fi you have to manually switch networks in the iOS settings in order to download the updates. Then manually switch back to the drone network… And—even worse—DJI doesn’t compile updates; you have to update each one individually. That means if you haven’t updated (or flown) in a few months it will force you to download and update each one individually, performing the network swap each time. As I wrote this I’m in a room loop of having switched networks literally two dozen times, with no sign of finishing. I cannot believe that a company that makes such great tangible products dumps such awful software onto their customers.

App Won’t Work on my iPhone 6S
I got a Mavic Pro Platinum a couple of weeks ago. I tried to connect it to my personal iPhone 6S. The app constantly said it was “Disconnected” with the drone. I then tried my wife’s iPhone 6 and my work phone (iPhone 6S+) and they both worked just fine. I was able to update the firmware and fly the drone with both of those phones. I called support the next day and was told to “use the other phones that work”. When I explained that I didn’t want to have to use my wife’s phone or my work phone all the time, all I got from the tech was, “just wait until the new app update comes out.” Well, it’s been 4 weeks now since an update, and I have not been able to fly my drone with my personal phone. I talked to my work and they don’t want me using it to fly the drone and my wife isn’t around all the time. I’m giving this app 1 star for the crappy support, poor ability to work with all phones, and its ability to make so many others, just like me, as mad as I am. I am very disappointed in you DJI. If only you could create software as good as your hardware.

Love the drone, hate the app
The spark is amazing. Best drone ever. App for spark? The textbook definition of buggy. This app is really cool I love the editing options and skypixel, but the bugs make it unbearable. Examples? Can’t watch random videos on Skypixel. When I download the vid I made with my phone it runs at basically 5 frames a second. Then when I exit the app to see if it’s my phone’s issue, it restarts the app and doesn’t save my 2 hours worth of work. I saved and exited the vid I just made, then reopened it to see if it saved. And of course it didn’t. I made the same vid over and over again 5 times. And each time, when I reopened the app after trying different things to get the vid to not run so terribly, it erased all my work. I’ve had my spark for 3 years and the app hasn’t done the vid bugs until now. The skypixel thing has always been a minor annoyance, but loosing 2 hours work not once, but 5 times??. Please fix DJI. Update: Just purchased a new iPhone XS thinking my old 6s was the problem. Turns out that nope, it is the app.

Two years of successful flights
It seems as though pilots are either all-in or all-out on this app. I’ve found it to work quite well! I’ve been flying my DJI Mavic Pro 1 for over two years, and we’ve safely landed each time so far. There have been some situations in terms of communication interference with the remote and the drone, or with the drone’s camera flipping in weird directions (even though it was still fully in control). Those issues were circumstantial and not app related. When I first started flying, there were a few occasions where I lost connection to the app. That was scary as visual would drop out, but that has not been an issue in quite sometime. “Return to Home” on the remote is a savior at that point, and it’s important to maintain safe flying practices, like visual line of sight, to bring the drone home safely.

Best Drones
I’m still in my first year of flying Drones and yes like many other people I started with the less expensive drones on the market. After purchasing 5 other companies Drones I purchased y 1st DJI mavic 2 zoom. I feel in love 😍 1st flight. The are may extra features on DJI verse the others I purchased my favorite extra feature or the sensors all around the Drone that prevents crashing into objects. My wife decided to by me a spark to also go with my collection. I also feel in love 🥰 with it also. The reason why I love ❤️ both is they both have there on unique features. I love the spark being Abe to fly in close quarters, the Mavic 2 long flight availability. As a matter of fact I’m looking forward to the new mavic mini that’s will be hitting the market any day ( done ask Santa for one under the tree 🌲).

Push fw update notifications pls!
I give 4 stars, however I came back from my last shoot wanting to give 0.5 stars (literarly). I do understand that the DJI systems are getting more complex and therefore it is necessary to keep everything update. But people have better things to do than to constantly update sw. I was on a shoot, remote location (fully legal, no restrictions, just mountains with some 2G spots. The app crashed all the time, image transmission issues sometimes preventing me to do the imagery I was actually out there for. It seems fine after the updates. So ... DJI, please, could you push notifications about these app and firmware updates that are required on the phone, drone and controller to fly reliably and safely? Updating on location is sometimes impossible and as the drones get smaller, the times of “prepare at home before flight” are over.

Great app but a few flaws
This app is unbelievable. The technology is amazing! Unfortunately, it was super disappointing at first. Right off the bat it says to scan the box but it doesn’t work. Everything I read while trying to solve the problem said it doesn’t work for anyone. I was so excited to get a drone but then was put through hell trying to set everything up because it didn’t scan. The other complaint keeping me from giving it five stars is that the pop up messages/warnings keep popping up over and over again distracting me from flying. This seems like a safety hazard. For example, a message pops up on the screen and tells me I am flying in a particular zone. I hit “X” to make it go away but then it pops up again seconds later, then again and again and again. I was five miles from a heliport but I did call them so stop nagging me. Everything else works awesome!

Great App to use, BUT with a few flaws...
I recently purchased a DJI spark about a month ago. First let me say as my first drone this UAV is soooo much fun to fly. Amazing the technology that’s in the DJI drone family. Probably why the app seems to work 98% of the time. The other 2 % is having connectivity issues. I’ll try every trick in the book. My last attempt was to delete the app and reinstall it which worked. I think because you have such variety of drones that can be used on the same app is bound to have a few bugs. Not to mention the wide variety of variables to cause connectivity issues. In conclusion, I use the app almost every day multiple times and have had only a few problems. I would’ve given it a 5 star review but it’s just not quite there yet. Thank you DJI for the amazing drones you’ve given us and a great app to use them!

Plea for better simulator!
Hi, I’m hoping by writing this review I can get through the app developer. I have been waiting for for first person view perspectives while using the “simulator” on the app its 2019. I have spent 100+ hours flying. Please add a First Person View on simulator so the user can get use to the control. There are times where I take a break from flying and often forget the fine controls of the drone. By adding FPV on the simulator your not only giving a chance the user to learn how to fly safely, but responsibly. There should be course where the app trains you on how to be a responsible drone pilot just like in real life. DJI a huge company, be part of the solution on how to train new drone pilots. I’m hoping that this review can bring to light on what’s wrong with new drone pilots and that can cause avid users like me to loose the ability to fly because so idiot decides to be irresponsible. Thank You

Drone went crazy after update
I was having connectivity issues between my phone and the controller. I went to the updates and saw that Mavic needed to be updated, so I updated the app. When I reopened the app, my camera connected and everything looked great. I lifted off and everything was going fine... got up to about 75 feet, was shooting some video, then all of a sudden, the drone started spinning around uncontrollably. I tried to correct it which I had very little control over, but I did not want it to fall into a neighbors house. I was able to control it just a little but then it came crashing down. Needless to say, the drone crashed and was completely destroyed as it ended up in the pool after hitting the edge of the spa. The drone was working perfectly fine up to that point but it wasn’t until I updated the app that this issue happened. I’m curious as to what Mavic is going to say about this...? More than likely, user error.

Horrifying customer service & UNRELIABLE App
Just purchased my Mavic Air. Tried completing the setup process on the app with my drone and the remote but the app continuously crashes. I cleared my cache, deleted and reinstalled the app as suggested and yet no changes, it still crashes... The app works fine when it’s not connected to the remote or drone but the moment you try to sync everything up all hell breaks loose. Customer service is a complete joke. The rep I spoke to said he didn’t understand English well (made sure to double check that I called the right number; which I did) and when I asked to speak with his supervisor he finally spoke clear English and said she’d tell me the exact same thing he did, which was that I needed to wait for the newest update release of the app and that no one had a solution. Then he said “We can’t help you” and hung up. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER dude! Paid almost $1,300 for a drone I can’t even fly. Talk about an expensive paperweight. DJI, you need to respond ASAP! This is unacceptable-

Not very intuitive
Getting this app and the connection to controller working was not very intuitive. After watching tutorial videos and then several unsuccessful attempts to connect the controller to the Mavic it finally worked. The controller would pair but then the app would say disconnected. Then the app would connect and the Mavic controller wasn’t connected. Finally it worked after some combination of attempted techniques. Raised to 3 stars now that I can actually use the Mavic. Using on iPhone 6sPlus. Looking forward to upgrading to an iPad Mini because there is so much info on the screen. Will know more once I get a chance to fly more. Reading through the info it looks like there is no built in feature to mirror to another device or third party goggles. I would have to buy an another app and there are none with any good reviews or do apple screen mirroring through a hot spot. Seems like a simple feature that should be included. Please add this! INITIAL REVIEW: Tried several times to make an account through the app and it didn’t work. Went on website and created account. Took several hours to get app to accept password. Now it says ‘sign-in failed. Check your network connection’ after trying several different networks. Totally useless. Frustrated.

This app is good, it’s easy to navigate and see other creators’ work which is very cool. It’s nice to have the sort of social media aspect to the app as well as the hardware aspect. The video transmission can be unreliable at times but that seems to only be based on the WiFi link to the drone through the remote. However, this app is terrible to fly you’re drone with! If you have a Mavic of Spark BUY A CONTROLLER! It will help make sure you don’t loose your drone and greatly increase it’s range. The app is also very persistent with its pop up warnings which can get annoying. It seems that I’m always in an “Airport with Unpaved Runways Zone,” (I also fly planes a plane at the local airport and know this isn’t true). My only other criticism is that these frequent warnings take up a lot of the viewing area of the screen. But otherwise, it’s a good app.

Newbie drone world
My first time ever buying a drone (spark) definitely in my infancy when it comes to the drone world. I’m excited about this product but I have some complaints which after reading I’m not the only one with the same problem. 1) The app and it’s signal is pretty weak - I have 8 Plus and the remote controller and I’m in an open field and the signal is still weak. This is even when I have everything updated to the latest 2) the photos and videos are super choppy, again in a middle of an open field. There’s a huge delay when I take a photo it freezes and then it takes the picture about 10 seconds later 3) I never knew that this thing came with so many and I mean so many restrictions on flying. I under safety is imperative but, no flying when you’re over 5 to 10 miles away from an airport ? Really ? The spark is really cute and it’ll probably be my first and last drone that id get from DJI itself.

Weak Transmission Signal Issue
I had purchased the DJI Spark back in December of 2017 without the remote and the app did its job. I never really had issues of the app crashing like other people have stated. I’ve recently purchased the RC controller for the spark along with an OTG cable. I turn the Spark on, then the controller and wait for the connection, then connect the OTG cable to my phone and then the controller. Now you should be able to fly the Spark without WiFi if using the OTG cable. With everything connected properly, the DJI GO4 app says that the drone is connected but says that there is a weak transmission signal. I’ve done some research and have heard that it has started to do that with the new update. If that issue can be fixed then I’d consider leaving 5 stars for the review.

Restricted
Ok. I waited a few days to post. I am in a 5mi airport radius and you may not exhibit the extremely annoying bs that dji forces upon us. I don’t condone flying illegally, so make sure you know the rules. My biggest gripe is these are rules are forced while indoors too. 1: I need to approve every takeoff. I get that, but first we get a warning. Then we get a partially working check box/ok button. Then we can fly. That is if you don’t practice a landing. If you do that, you need to approve it again even if it’s only 30 seconds later. 2: Sometimes my enhanced warning zone becomes a warning zone. No longer is a warning/check box/ok button sufficient. Now we need to verify by a credit card or text message. Enter my number and I cannot press the verify button since it’s below the screen. I can scroll to see it, but it goes right back down. 3: GPS indoors is not always a good signal. Took off in atti mode only to have #2 apply while mid flight once it picked up GPS signals. Locked me out and it started landing on its own. Of course in an area that would likely have been a catastrophic crash. I had to dive for it and grab it out of the air! Please bring back the gps on/off or an indoor mode with height restrictions. Super annoying to spend a grand on something we can’t even use in our own home. Seriously considering returning it for one from another company. Way too many hoops.

I Actually Love This App
The DJI Spark is my first drone. I recently got it and I am in love with it. I also purchased the remote. I had issues with connectivity to my Spark without the remote, but with future app updates It got better. Either way the remote really brings out the ability to fully appreciate what you’ve got in your hands. Recently this app is pretty darn flawless for me. I can break out my Spark, power the remote, open the app, and I’m in the air. That still just blows my mind every time I fly. I love the improvements they make with each app update, I love the Sport mode, I marvel at the technology, and I just admire the ease of use compared to what I initially thought it would be. I’ve got a flying friggin camera on me all the time. How cool is that?

It works great!
I think that this app works great! I don’t know what everyone else is complaining about. The only reason I didn’t give it a five star rating is because its behind on the camera. When I go up it will take a second or two to see the camera where it is really. But other than that I think that this app works great with my spark. By the way DJI the spark is a great drone! Mine is six years old and still haven’t had to replace anything and it works great. You should make a spark 2. I think gust tweak it a little to not be so slow and it’s great! Oh and users when your trying to download the videos make Shute that you use your phone only with out the connected rc. Tweak it a little bit and I’ll give it a five star rating.

I fly my Mavic without the app now
Ever since DJI imposed restrictions, I can’t fly with the apps I like and there are too many restrictions. Only fly while online? What the hell is this? I fly in National Forests where it’s allowed but has no internet connection! What about everyone with an iPad? And don’t even think about making us choose where we’re going to fly, I might drive 100 miles into the mountains and not know where I’ll fly until I make the decision! I spent $1000 plus more in accessories, as did everyone else, to fly a drone, not a brick. If you’d like to begin removing our ability to fly freely, please give us a large portion of our money back, because for the lack of features that I now have, I never would’ve bought the Mavic Pro. Also to clarify, for anyone not frustrated or understanding this, even when I’m not legally in an NFZ, it won’t let me take off, sometimes the gps thinks I’m 30 miles from where I actually am, still offline. DJI is a total disaster, sadly, so are drone laws. Currently drones are in a rough spot, and if they pause and come back they’ll lose their market share. But at the very least they need to make you sigh something with your finger to say you accept liabilities or whatever as a bypass if the app thinks you’re trying to fly in an area you’re not supposed to be in. Also they should allow ATCs to force land or fly the drone back

Valuable videography footage opportunity lost
I was out camping and cracking cold ones on a Saturday with my boys (because that's what Saturdays are for) and I thought it would be a great idea to bust out my Mavic and get some aerial video shots for the trip video I was making but sure enough upon opening the app I not only had to log in but I also needed to update the app this would not normally be a problem but I was out in the middle of nowhere with 0 cell service with a perfectly good drone, grounded because the app isn't update efficient/can't keep me logged in. It's 2017, this shouldn't be an issue, I paid good money for this drone I'd like to use it thank you. UPDATE it is now FEB 2018 and I’m still experiencing the same issues only this time it was for a paying client, there is nothing I dislike more than looking unprofessional I wish I could leave half a star as an app review. It TRULY is a shame DJI doesn’t have software to match there fantastic hardware.

App feels like a beta
I just spent sooooo much money on this drone and I want to get good footage while traveling in Asia. But the app is terrible. I don’t feel comfortable flying it getting the shots I want!!!!!! First I can’t seem to change my settings without the drone on. Which waste my battery, as I have to play around in the menu for 4 minutes before or while flying. And the setting seem to randomly change and aren’t the same when I come back to the app. But the worst is the app constantly is crashing!!!!! Recently I haven’t been able to keep it open for more than 20 seconds. And sometimes it won’t flip over on the phone so I’m stuck flying home with no battery, upside down, under exposed, WITH NO USABLE FOOTAGE!!!!! DJI, People are paying good money for your products this includes the app needed to fly it, so get on it. I hope to update it before I leave for my trip. Ughhhhh

No ISSUES NO PROBLEMS
In 2014 I started with the DJI Flame Wheel 550, no issues. Now granted this is pre-DJI GO and GO 4. I moved to the P4 after watching the Phantom series move along and decided in 2015 to move up to the Phantom 4. From then on I’ve never experienced an issue that has not been solved by an update or issue not taken care of by warranty. 6 years later still flying with the same set up down to the original blades and aside from a controller battery fail, no issues that I can speak to revolving around the DJI GO 4 App. Knock on wood and continued safe flying and SW that is working, this app works. I’ll follow up with any seen issues and as I move into the DJI FPV.

Combined multiple bad programs
This software is extremely difficult to use. The programs within the programs within the programs has you going all over the place just to figure out how to find your videos and photos. None of it makes any user friendly sense. Way to frustrating in complexity. It is the only app option though so you’re stuck with it! The video editing is nice for beginners, so I gave it one star. DJI needs to spend the money and start over or even better, they could ask someone to use it in front of them, map out all the issues (frustrations), and re-organize the software program to make things simple. Leave the software intact, I don’t care, but for crying out loud, make it easier to get to different places within it. You have made videos to explain videos that explain how to do something. So silly! Just start over and create a menu.

Don’t ever buy a DJI Drone
I was excited to start using my drone when it dropped out of the sky, this was my third flight and I was using it safely. Thinking I may have missed a update I refreshed and updated my drone and used it again. Having 5 flights and getting more confident in my own ability I took it out on a fishing trip. All I can say is right after taking one (the last picture) the drone shortly dropped! Going 60 feet down never to be seen again. I would urge everyone that they may want a drone to look at all other companies, and only buy a DJI if you Want to be disappointed! Waste of my money. Don’t waste yours. To DJI please feel free to email me if you think this is inaccurate I would love to show you the last picture and give you my drones gps record. Again I was flying not doing any crazy just a straight line to a drop out of the sky

Go4 app works nice.
Although this app lacks the ability to set way points on the map, it works pretty good good. I just read a review from someone, and could barely make sense of it since it didn’t seem that he knew how to use punctuation to break up his thoughts about his issues with the program. I mean, all you have to do is say things like the word comma, and the word period. I have flown my spark without any issues at least a dozen times. What I am puzzled about is that it’s terrible that Go4 doesn’t rotate the screen on my iPad when I have it in the controller...although a third party app figured out how to do it...also what is bad is there should be a slight smoothing out of the gimbal in sport mode...also the yaw rate in sport mode should be adjustable.

If your app is crashing
I went on a several trips with my Mavic Pro Platinum over the last month and each time has had a firmware update or the app would crash every 10 seconds. These updates were more than inopportune since 95% of the time I’m off the grid and working. My last day with it was yesterday when the app crashed every few seconds while on a remote location shoot. I went home and ended up deleting the app and reinstalling it last night. Turned out there was conflicting firmware updates and so it spent 10 minutes realigning the firmware (with Mavic, controller, and app on). Once it was finished, I haven’t had the app crash yet.

Terrible software
As good as the DJI hardware is, that is how bad this software is. The company seems more interested in satisfying their lawyers and appeasing their regulators than they in satisfying their customers. I frequently use 50-75% of the first battery just responding to the various warnings, updates, recalibrations, and other CYA messages. Today, I got something that asked me to agree to take full responsibility for my flight. It appeared as a window that blocked my view of where I was flying and the button that dismissed it wouldn't go away even if a scrolled through the entire agreement. The kicker was that it still allowed me to take off (without signing the agreement and without being able to see where I was going!). That's how bad this has gotten. At this point, I wouldn't recommend anybody buying a DJI done until the software to fly it is usable.

As good or better than Litchi
Was really disappointed with the Go 4 app when it came out, but I guess the program writers at DJI finally came out of their comma and produced an app that works well with my P4P V2. Litchi has been my go to app up until this update came out. I think it is now better than Litchi. It has not crashed once on my iphone 8 plus or iPad. Most all of the features work well and it is a joy to use now. There are some things I have frustrations with, but until I test it further I will refrain from pointing out as it may just be me. Good job DJI, keep supporting your customers.

Too much problems
This is the third one I’ve had so far and since I live in hawaii of course I want to film coastal and waterfall scenes but the the thing loves to land in water it seems. The first time I figured it could have been a weak transmission so I chucked it up as a loss, the second hit sport mode while when it wasn’t even switched on and crashed but I was able to fish it out the stream and it still works flys but it’s buggy and flips out and not stable and this third time it wouldn’t return and auto landed in the ocean when trying to fly it home. It was stuck in the same place for about 5 minutes before running out of battery and landing in the bay about 30 yards from shore but hopefully they will comp me a new one since it’s another equipment failure and I have more accessories than the cost of the spark.

Runs seamlessly.
I can only imagine how much programming goes into this app. It’s gotta be a mammoth amount. And also to make it user friendly, clean, and run so smoothly all while running live feed from a drone however many meters, yards, feet away is absolutely incredible. I have never had any problems with it. I use it with spark just the phone, and with the RC. I just wanna shout out to DJI that I am so grateful for there AWESOME products and this amazing app to go with it. You guys have made so much more possible. Thank you DJI. P.S. to the one star reviewers, please revaluate your reviews..you’re giving this a app, a bad wrap.

Great App!
I’ve had a spark for a couple months now, and have had no issues with it or the app. I have the fly-more combo, and using the controller alongside some of the intelligent flight modes you get with the app is awesome. Using the app makes updating the drone, controller, and batteries really easy and puts it all in one place. The built-in editor makes piecing small content to post easy and mobile, and it makes viewing shots you’ve taken very accessible. Overall I think what DJI is accomplishing is amazing and I hope to continue to see great innovations from them in the years to come.

The idea is good, just not quite all there yet.
I have the mavic air 2, which this app isn’t compatible with, but I use it to download videos from my smart controller with the go share feature. It’s nice to be able to download the videos directly to my iPhone, but it’s a hassle to have to just sit on my phone, with the file downloading, and tapping my phone every so often to keep it awake so the download doesn’t fail. It will also fail if I put the app in the background. So I just sit here for 10 to 15 minutes watching my phone while a 2+ GB file downloads over the 2.4 ghz WiFi network from the smart controller. Could have been done better. Don’t get me wrong, the drone is amazing and takes great footage, the software experience is definitely lacking though. Hope to see improvements

Do not update!!!
The app layout is great and actually I enjoyed the use of it until all these forced updates came out... I have a phantom 4 and all was great until the new firmware came out. Then came all the app updates that took away the ability to rollback the firmware to the previous version. I am very disappointed with dji at this point. Their customer service is terrible and their only excuse to fix the problem is to send your drone in to be looked at. There’s nothing to look at other then your bad updates. Everything was fine until all of this. IF YOU HAVEN’T UPDATED ANYTHING DONT!!! I promise you will be very unhappy with your decision like I am. $1300 just sits in its case because it flys like crap now and the app always glitches and shows bad signal when I’m 3 ft away from the drone! Fix your firmware dji

Dji Go4
The app is ok as functionality goes. But there is no explicit warning (I should say directive) that if using a phone device, to put the phone in Airplane Mode. At a crucial moment between and under trees, I received a call, and the next moment was disconnected from the drone and did not have any more control. It proceeded to do what it is supposed to do and return home, with trees and branches over it and started colliding with the cover above it. It continued to crash into branches and twigs until one blade snapped and then it was game over. Fortunately for me it was just the blades damaged and not the entire drone. dji make this a serious warning like txting and driving! Phone calls disconnect the app from the drone and you lose all ability to control it. A very helpless feeling!

Horrible Customer Service
I received the Mavic Pro w/the Goggles & Combo pack w/3 batteries on a Friday. On Monday I reported that 1 of the 3 batteries wouldn't accept a charge. I spent 45 minutes in an online chat (be sure to copy any chat w/them as they don't provide an option to email it or otherwise preserve it) stating at the outset of the chat it was a gift. DJI wanted a photo/video/sn etc. I jumped through every hoop they asked of me and at the end of the chat, refused to replace the battery w/o a proof of purchase. Never mind that it was a gift. I'd already joined their express service club by paying the $99/yr fee. Not good enuf for DJI. 6 weeks later and still no battery. If you have an option buy a drone from ANYONE but DJI. It's no wonder they've earned 2 out of five stars.

When it works it’s great!
For the first few months I’ve been using this app it was working great. About two month ago DJI did an update and now it crashes when I am try to edit videos. You would have thought that they would have fixed this problem be now. Most programmers I know work from home. Most of them work by contract. So, the shut down really isn’t a good reason for the slow response to this problem if you ask me. With more people at home, this would have been a good chance for dji to really promote their products, but they didn’t. And we have technical issues. Which is why it’s only getting three stars, not more.

App needs more stability
The app itself crashes a lot and doesn’t communicate with the remote even though it’s a cable between the remote and the iPhone. When it refuses to communicate the remote will have an annoying alarm that will continue until you shut it off and reinstall the app. App will crash mid flight. The button you have to press when you’re flying near a restricted area is very small and almost the same color as the background. Very difficult to see and even more difficult to activate. I do appreciate the warning it gives though. When it does work everything else is fine. Flying a Mavic Air.

Problem with my Spark
I recently bought a Spark! Its the best drone in this price range! Definitely, I am in love with it! But, since my second flight (when I turned off Beginner Mode), the DJI Go 4 app (or, maybe the drone itself) cannot save the max flight altitude. Because of that fact, I cannot flight the way I want. I set it up to 500 meters, but when I close the settings menu and open it again, it shows that the max flight altitude was set it up to 50 meters; when I start the flight, the aircraft goes to 120 meters of altitude (disrespecting the 50 meters limit) but cannot go higher than that. I already tried to re-install the DJI Go app, but it didn’t solved my problem! What should I do? Thank you for your time, Lucas Carlini

Doesn’t always work correctly
The app was amazing for the first few flights then it stopped loading. I lost some really cool stuff when I had to delete the app w reinstall. It again worked for a while, then it quit loading video into the app. I cleared the cashe and that worked. But only some of the videos loaded. So, again no video editing. Even some of the photos don’t show up on the app. When it worked properly it would shoot to the SD card, and send to the app and my phone. But no more. I have to download from the as card. Becoming very frustrating.

Could not do without!
You can’t learn to fly a helicopter or airplane overnight, let alone a UAV or drone, but having an app like this, and a little patience, will keep you in the air safely, giving you the confidence that your investment will not be lost in a crash. Once you gain more experience, you may be able to lower or disable some of the safety features, that make some of you writing these reviews, preemptively frustrated. I wouldn’t trust any other app over this one, when I put over $5,000 of my hard earned money in the air! Way to go DJI!

DO NOT UPDATE! DJI is forcing...
UPDATED REVIEW: Now DJI is making users agree to a new agreement before the app can be used. The problem? THERES NO PLACE TO CLICK ON “I agree”! This is absolutely ridiculous with the constant updates with major flaws that prevent users from flying their overly expensive drones. Thanks DJI for taking the fun out of flying!!! 🖕 ...it’s customers to suddenly register their drones in order to use the app! Yesterday, no registration was needed but today it is. Their customer service admits to the policy change. I bought my drone two months ago so can no longer return it. If would have known that DJI would force me to surrender my privacy, there is NO WAY that I would have shelled over $1000 for their toy. Absolutely furious over this sudden and forced policy change.

It works
So far it has been flawless on my iPhone 6S+ with the Mavic Air. I have not done any long distance flights yet, but will this weekend. I will update my review if there are any changes, but my testing so far has been successful. No crashes or blackouts as some report. The people giving one star reviews because they have to now have an account or can’t change their email in app need to get over themselves. Those are not reasons for one star and are not giving true impressions of the flight capabilities of the app. The people with blackouts, crashes, and flyaways... maybe, but there could be other reasons for those to occur. My experience has been positive so far and I am happy with the update. Great work DJI. ***NOTE*** This review is not a paid endorsement for DJI products. I have not received any payments from DJI or any other company in exchange for this review.
