I used to use this all the time for mapping with my Mavic 2 Pro, but recently, it only captures every other photo unless I set the minimum capture interval to 5 seconds. It’s already is set to jpg images, but it still fails to capture the required photos. Sure, I can make it work by setting a 5 sec capture interval, but that is 2.5x the flight time, which is not reasonable. In GO4, I can set the timed capture to 2sec and capture manually flying without issue, so it’s entirely an issue with this app. Extremely disappointing as a I also use this as an enterprise user for work.
This app will not work despite the DJI GO app for my Phantom 3 Advanced working perfectly. Sent UAV and controller back three times and tech could use this app. No explanation forthcoming. Dead in water since June 2021.
Needs a little work to be great. Best for nadir photos
This is the only app I can find that allows a hover for capture option. That is great for aerial surveying because you can set the camera to aperture priority for the most precise image. Problems: 99 waypoint max. I surveyed 10 acres within app. It took 4 separate flight plans from 150 feet. To cover the area. No healthy drones link. Hence, the flight is not logged which I think is essential for commercial flying. I have to switch apps to the DJI autopilot app for obliques. This program will do obliques but the programming doesn't give enough option like focus triggers, focal points, etc.
Worked like a charm before the upgrade. Now app does not communicate with the the UAV. Not a controller issue because there is communication with DJI GO4.
This product has promise for being a good app for mapping applications. With all of the purchased options (which I purchased), it has all the tools you need to map just about anything. However, the bugs in the application really kill its potential usefulness. The big one for me is that when you are running a mission with distance or time interval capture mode, it will routinely (like every mission) skip taking photos on entire flight lines. This pretty much ruins the entire mission because of the missing coverage. The hover and capture mode works well enough, but the 99 waypoint limit makes it not practical. If DJI ever fixes the bugs, it would be a great mapping app.
Good start DJI but without ability to record flight logs this isn't very useful for commercial use. This app should be able to link with HealthyDrones / DroneLogBook, etc. Or at the very least it needs to show up under iTunes apps when connected to a computer to download the flight records there like with the DJI Go App. Until this is fixed commercial pilots should be very cautious when using this as there is no current way to review the flight after. This needs to be a priority for DJI to fix. Will upgrade my rating once this is done.
Awesome app! Not sure though why the drone stops at each waypoint even if you have no actions set. Also, I wish you had options for setting speed and altitude other than the sliders. Tapping on the number field should bring up a scratch pad (keyboard) to enter the exact altitude or speed you need.
I see no reason just like the other review said that there is no logging in this app. Regular DJI Go can produce the txt flight logs for uploading to logbook services. This is essential for us commercial customers! Please enable this feature in this app! Furthermore on the new photo map feature, the gimbal on X5S wouldn’t stay straight, it kept rotating to different angles for each picture so the end map is very messed up when stitched together.
It’s a really good for free. Seems to lack a bit of gimbal control on most type missions. Definitely has technical issues with the Video Feed and receiving Mobile CPU Errors. Video feeds cuts in and out. Seems to be making my iPad really Hot when errors occur. I’m not sure why they would tax a CPU so much.
I tried a geo fence, I was well within the area but my mavic was freaking out, kept saying braking... I tried to bring it back when I thought it was going to fall out of the sky! It seriously did a front flip then leveled again! I cancelled the geo fence and immediately everything was back to normal. I think I'll stick with go app for now
I stand very confused as to why current maps are not being used especially being this is from DJI. These need to be updated quickly. Besides that the app is easy to use and a great tool but needs that update.
The 3D mapping mode is missing an important mode to fly aircraft heading aligned with the course. It would also be beneficial to fly the same mission over again without having to copy it every time.
The program appears to be good, haven't tried yet. One HUGE flaw is the maps being used. Google maps are not being used, since the maps used in this app are at least 3 years old. Doesn't help for plotting accurate sites. The only good thing is, it is Free.
Of all the survey / mapping apps, this one is easy to use, and it gets the job fast! The only issue I have; I use it with my Phantom 4 Pro, using an iPad. I recently bought a Mavic 2 Pro, but I cannot use my iPad with the Mavic controller, due to it’s size, and the DJI Go app does not turn in the vertical position making it useless to use. So, I use my Android phone, with the Mavic; BUT, the Ground Station Pro app only works with an iPad or iPhone. DJI, HELP! Please make a GSP version that work with Android.
GS Pro (also known as Ground Station Pro) is an iPad app designed to control or plan automatic flights for DJI aircraft. Through its clear, concise interface, complex flight missions can be planned with a few taps. GS Pro will then automatically take pictures at pre-set waypoints, providing the accuracy required for precision mapping. GS Pro dramatically increases the efficiency of various industrial applications, including but not limited to, aerial imaging, architecture, precision agriculture, electrical inspections, search and rescue, safety control, and more. ## About Auto-Renewable Subscription - For individual users, "GSPro Advanced", and for team users, "GSPro Team Basic" and "GSPro Team Professional" are provided for you to purchase.
