This is what I was looking for, but for some reason, the song text in the menu bar is a little blurry... fix that, and add the ability to Love/Dislike a song, and it's a 5-star program
Excellent little app, love how minimal it is — nothing overdone about it. The only thing I’d like to see in future updates are a bit more info when clicking on the menu icon, such as the album name, and maybe even album artwork. Oh yeah, and this app is pretty solid, performance-wise. Hasn’t really shown any bugs.
Great in purpose and fast, but has its glitches. Instead of scrolling, it just does NOT display long titles. It also does not open on login, despite having the option selected. Also, please bring retina abilities! For a paid app, these problems are very basic to fix. Please fix within the next update. Otherwise a great, functional app!
Very good idea. However, it should be hidden when iTunes is closed. One more thing, I don't like the progress indicator popping up every time I press option key.
Downloaded the latest version, still buggy in Big Sur. After 1 session when stop Music or Spotify, play again the following night only show the "play" icon but no song title
You can’t skip songs in Spotify, or star them, or even bring up the Spotify window. Also, it frequently disconnects from Spotify completely. Don’t get this if you want it for Spotify.
This is a great app, and exactly what I was looking for. I use it whenever I listen to iTunes Radio. It would be even more awesome if it supported Rdio in addition to Spotify, as that's my on-demand service. Simple and great!
There are a ton of musical menu bar apps, but they all come with a ton of stuff I don’t want. I don’t want to share on Twitter, I don’t want to control Spotify, I don’t want to update my Last.fm … I just want to easily see what song is playing in iTunes. Emcee does that with no frills. Sometimes, simpler is better.
Many Mac apps show what’s currently playing in your Music — often by rendering semi-transparent widgets over what you do. Those widgets distract you from work and never answer the question “What’s playing?” the moment you have it. Emcee humbly shows the song in the menu bar. The song name does not scroll, it stands still.
