I like the security provided by Eno. But for whatever reason, I find it incredibly slow. It requires at least 90s seconds...sometimes more like 2-3 minute to load, create the virtual card, and then complete the transaction. Using my actual credit card, I can complete a transaction in a fraction of that time...usually only a few seconds.
Capital One does a terrible job of telling you how long it will take this app to start working after you setup a new account. There is a delay of 30-60 days where it will just throw errors. But once it finally works, it works well. I've generated dozens of virtual cards for different vendors and the browser plug-in version does a good job recognizing sites you have already generate a card for. Give it serious patience to get started and then enjoy the extra security!
I just updated my mac and now my browser extension for Chrome or Safari is not working. Please fix. It says "something went wrong. What, exactly? Well, that's what my team is busy figuring out. Please try again later." Been going on since I upgraded 2 days ago. But when it works, it is awesome!
Buggy extension, you have to try a couple of times before it finally works. Often times it just hangs or doesn't register clicks. Which is a shame because the chrome version works fine.
I don't know if this extension ever worked, but it hasn't worked for me for the last three versions of MAC OS. I'm using Ventura 13.0 now. When you try to use it to make a purchase, it simpily says "Something went wrong". "What, exactly? Well, that's what my team is busy figuring out. Please try again later." Maybe the team needs to try harder because it gave the error a year ago as well.
The idea of using virtual credit card numbers for online purchases sounds great -- on paper. It may well work as offered by other credit card issuers. But getting the "Eno" app from Capital 1 Visa to work on my Mac running Monterey 12.5 is hit or miss. Once in a while it works. More often than not, it doesn't. And Cap1 doesn't seem to offer a way to pose questions to tech support.
I have never before been motivated enough to write a negative review but this app did it. I installed this app to try to create the virtual card numbers for my Capital One card and it immediately froze my broswer with the spinning beach ball and caused my computer to crash and restart. What kind of shoddy QA or review of software does Capital One outsource this to? This is ridiculous.
I just spent an hour with CapOne trying to get this to work. There is something fundamentally wrong with the system programming. We went through *exactly* the same sequence of actions 3 times. The first 2 times, it didn't work. The 3rd time, it did. The idea of "virtual CC number" is great. In fact, a useful product, called ShopSafe, used to exist. This product, unfortunately, is garbage.
I really wanted it to work, but it does not. Please just make a web app and do not waste your time making browser extensions. Be smart, we know you just want access to our personal data with every website we visit, but you simply have not made it work. Web app would be superior and easier to build.
It worked once (one time for one merchant). I have used versions for Chrome on my Mac and my Windows PC. I was glad to see a version that supposedly worked with Safari. Every time I try to use it, MacOS asks me for permission. The first time I used it, Eno popped up as expected. After that, I gave permission but nothing happened. I have uninstalled it.
This extension frequently pulls more than 100% of my CPU usage (Monterey 12.6). Why would a browser extension be doing that? I also am getting errors and saying it can't be used right now, or that my account is locked (it is not). It worked for a while, but now is about to be deleted from my system.
Let's see. Allow this app to have full access to all of the websites I visit. that's garbage right off. Then it doesn't even do what it says it should. Hey Capital one. Just let me login to your site and get a freakin' virtual card. I don't need this stupid extension, which doesn't work.
Has such good premise but they messed it up badly with the bugginess and slowness
Concept is really unique since only few credit card companies provide this. Id be more liable to use it thought if they can fix the extension and make it very fast since its very slow and buggy to run.
I used this on Chrome, and it stopped working. So I installed it on Safari, and I can't get it to work at all. Come on Capital One, you are a MASSIVE corporation. Can't you put some of your massive profits into protecting your customer's safety?!
I installed this, enabled it as a Safari extension, and then my Mac completly froze. I also don't believe that they don't collection any data like the app description says. How would it even work if that were true?
Installed, but had to grant permission to a LOT of websites. But then when I tried to use it just hung and locked up the computer. Whole computer mostly un-responsive. What a terrible extension!
The ENO app "blue button" flashes when pressed but does nothing - doesn't install the Safari extension. If the extension came from the same developers, maybe it's better not to install it.
Like the other reviews have mentioned, despite being updated as recently as a week ago it does't work. it asks me to login, then texts me a code, and then errors out every time right after that.
Using Safari 15.4 (17613.1.17.1.13) on Monterey 12.3.1 and Eno does nothing after clicking the button many times. quit restart, deleted, reinstalled, nothing. Safari doesn's respond, Safari Prefs Extensions area shows nothing. Please fix.
