Very proud!

I am very proud of your app service. easy peasy lemon squeezy to to navigate; very fast for searching flights; convenient to use in which we can be able to see different prices for different days at the same sight that we don’t have to search back and forth to modify other flights for the better price or days of flights, even the largest travel company doesn’t have this much convenience. just love it and very proud.

Terrible Experience with Ethiopia Airlines Customer Service

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Ethiopia Airlines. I booked a direct flight online, and after making the payment, the flight was cancelled. When I reached out to customer service, the agent named Ermias informed me that I needed to pay again, nearly double the original price, to rebook the flight. Unfortunately, I mistakenly paid the additional amount. To make things worse, the new flight I was rebooked on was not direct, but had multiple connections. I emailed them requesting a refund for the additional amount I was charged, but their response was frustrating. They told me that refunds cannot be issued online and that I would need to physically visit their office to resolve the issue. This lack of flexibility and poor customer service has made what was already a stressful situation even worse. I’m extremely disappointed with how Ethiopia Airlines handled this, and I would caution others to be aware of their refund policies and service.

Nothing works well on it

I did not use the app to book. I couldn’t check in, get seats, or get a boarding pass with the app. It kept giving me a technical issue message. I called there customer service line to have my call dropped twice before speaking with someone and then that call was dropped. So then after 4 tries I actually completed a conversation with an Ethiopian Rep who was professional and very helpful and received my seat assignments. I tried to check in on the website and on the app but had issue after issue, therefore I was not able to get a boarding pass. Their website is also very difficult to navigate. The people that work for Ethiopian seem very nice and professional but the company seems to have serious issues with online technical aspects. Please get a better IT department.

I am very impressed!

I have been flying with Ethiopian Airline since 2021- twice on an annual basis for my summer and winter breaks. I am really impressed with quality of service provided. I from from North America to Somalia. My only complain was facing unexplained seat changes two times. I got reassigned to my original seats upon insisting. So I would really appreciate if my seats are not changed for upcoming flights. As a tall man, I am particular with seats I choose. :) Other than that convince, I am really very proud of the service and the reliability the airline. A-lot of fellow Somali are happy with it as well. Thank you and keep it up!

Waste of time and space on your phone

App ALWAYS has “technical issues”. It is completely useless. I wasn’t able to book, check my flight status, or even use my Sheba miles among other things. Just call the airline or use the actual website. Will never fly Ethiopian Airlines again. Not mention the last flight of their’s I was on was extremely late and made me miss my connecting flight. I now have a 13 hour layover to catch the next flight and they will not accommodate me so I will sleep on the airport floor until my next flight. I could legally sue since they are making me miss work.

Very unreliable (can’t trust it) | Bad customer service

Yes the app works, you can book and checking online, the issue starts when you take your online boarding pass and get on the plane. This one time the flight attendant told us this flight is open seat and they can’t take our online boarding pass. They literally told us to “find a place & seat 😳”. The flight has turned first come first take, even tho we pick a seat using the app. So this kind of unreliable and inconsistent service will make this app useless. If I have to go to the checkin place and take a physical boarding pass why would I need the app.

Ethiopian Airways app

App is easy to use and most features work without hassle - only problem is that when choosing a seat for more than one leg of travel it does not allow for a different seat choice - it duplicates the first choice. Also does not have all Star Alliance frequent flyer partners in drop down box - I use Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles and have to add my frequent flyer details when I get to the airport.

Terrible Customer Service and Terrible Experience

Ethiopian moved my flight up two hours, fails to alert me and fails to update my boarding pass, so when we try to go through security, it fails, multiple times. We call Ethiopian customer support, four, count them four times, that doesn’t count the three times we were hung up on or the call dropped. Despite four attempts, none of them worked. Luckily we got to the airport almost two hours in advance so we had time to wait in a LONG LONG LONG line to have paper tickets issued. This app is literally a waste of space in the App Store and on your phone.

User friendly

It can take some time to load but that might be my internet speed. Easy to navigate and I have had no issues purchasing on the app.

Getting closer but still a few bugs

It won’t allow seat changes and even though I put in my Starline Gold number and never printed out on my boarding passes or showed digitally. I had to add it when I got to the airport. And I keep getting this notification within the app that I’m not connected to the Internet when clearly I am. As a result, it won’t let me do anything. I had to go through the browser to check in.

App needs a major update

I love Ethiopian airlines but the app is a major let down. I can not select seat. Also when booking domestic flight somehow after you select and save your seat, your seat is given to somebody else. I am writing this because I love Ethiopian airlines and I would love for it to exceed but with this type of issues, I don’t think people would chooses these flight from others. That would be loss for Ethiopia who worked so hard to build their business.

Errors

I had a hard time getting into my account. The verification process takes forever. When you send an email I don’t get it right away. You get tied of it and give up. So I suggest you fix this problem if you don’t want people to go to other airlines for tickets. Thanks

Has little memory

My only constant disappointment with using this app is that it never remembers my favorite airport destinations. After saving favorites I get back to the app and sour luck the app has no memory of me selecting favorites. It is very annoying and frustrates me to have to go through it again. Very inconvenient

Be ware

BE WARE Ethiopian airlines became a nightmare lately especially if your destination is in Asmara Eritrea our family used ET 820 and ET 312 today, we were badly treated by Ethiopian airline staff members all our 6 lagage carry on and our 12 checked in bags lost in Addis Ababa airport. We have asked and no body is giving information they don’t even care. Now our kids have no close to change our toddler baby has no food to eat and we are in a very bad situation here in Asmara, Eritrea. This is also happened to many other colleagues

Manage bookings is useless

I’ve imputed my booking information so I can check on it regularly and no matter how many times I put in the information it never shows up. It always said it’s been added to my wallet but when I go and check “my upcoming trips” it’s never there. If this app can’t simply show me my upcoming trip then what is it good for? Literally the only reason why I downloaded this app and it doesn’t work. Very frustrating and disappointed.

Most terrible App is ET

I am writing this to express my disappointment with the way you handled my request to upgrade my flight, It was really funny to take my miles withoutupgradingmy flight & force me to accept economy class without any help from your side to solve this case or at least upgrade my flight while you're fixing the issue from your side. This is completely unacceptable, I cannot trust your system anymore, you have a very poor App & we cannot feel safe while we are collecting miles or even while we are using our cards to book, it's not trusted App at all. I'm sorry to tell you that i have decided to stop using ET forever, I'm going to look for another Airlines that can respect their clients. Abdalla Elhag

Trash!

The latest update (version 1.4.0(2)) needs an URGENT UPDATE! It’s dysfunctional, crashes, has pop up error message... update it or remove it from the App Store, it’s that bad. Even after version 1.4.0(2) the latest update, the app just does NOT function as well as it should. It has a pop up message that tells users that the app they r using is outdated...🤭 Y not get a lesson from other airlines and update/revamp the app as a whole. This app needs to get up to date upgrade not just a useless update.

Needs a lot of work

I didn’t want to be the guy that does this but I couldn’t just let this one go. The app needs a lot of work to be user friendly. It does not work if you have a connecting flight from another airlines. The check in option doesn’t function half the time unless you are traveling from Ethiopia and even then .... . The QA team that tested and the dev team that built it need to go back and redo a few things, like the whole app.

App issue

This airline has new app issues. The Amharic version works and the English version does not work on my iPhone 13. Very frustrating up even to start it. Used to work. What happened? Time to look into other sirlines Used to work ok. Now during up load it goes blank after a few questions and answers. Sorry to say is big on boasting about everything and poor on execution. Sad!

No use

App’s functionality limited to viewing your itinerary. Flown and used the app 3 times in the last year and assigning seats doesn’t work. Even when calling the reps are friendly and claim to assign seats but when looking at your booking, nothing has been fine. Each time I’ve had to go into a city ticket office to get my seats assigned along with an itinerary printout as proof ( even tho the phone reps “assigned” my seats)

Garbage

App is slow and crashes or times out constantly. I’d recommend fixing the app before pushing it incessantly while onboard Ethiopian flights. The only reason I’m giving it even one star is that between the buggy app and janky website, I was able to check in successfully for my flight (even if it took 30 minutes.) If Ethiopian is serious about competing with world-class carriers, they need a functional app and website.

Mostly smooth and easy to use. The App gives error messages on Shebamiles login and use, and payment using card.

Reconcile

I am not sure why a trip does not show on this app if the booking is done under account login. Made the booking on my laptop but the checkin on my mobile app. Shouldn’t these two reflect under a login?

Unpleasant Buttons!!

The red button is some how not comfortable! You should change the red button to something else! I hate buying things hitting a red button! It makes me feel like I am being scummed!!

Terrible app

This is honestly the most frustrating app I’ve ever come across. It’s very slow, it crashes often, and doesn’t perform many of the tasks it claims to be able to (selecting a seat on here doesn’t guarantee you’ll get it in reality). The check in process also takes many tries before it’s successful, it’s much easier, and faster, to use the web check in.

Ethiopian Airlines is one of the best Airlines with top-notch service quality. The new fleet of the Aircraft make it preferable and reliable. The hospitality & service provided by the cabin crew is also excellent! Keep it up!

Wasting of time

I have checked in from online and I had my boarding pass yet they asking me to go in the queue. My question is what is the point having boarding pass or checking in from online. Although I didn’t had any luggage to check in I only had Cary on. Ethiopian airlines is the worst airline in Africa. #change the customer agent in JkIA airport in Nairobi Kenya.

Worst

I booked my flight (with the most expensive price tag for that flight), had my seat number, checked in and loaded my luggage. Then I am told I booked late so that other passengers have already boarded the flight. Literally at the last minute they canceled my flight, and to make it worse there is no one responsible and able to help! My God!

Very poor, unstable and unreliable app

I have tried to use this app since it was launched. The app requires higher speed internet connection and is largely unstable. If you also select Aiport or Ticket Office as payment option, the airline is likely to surprise you with cancellation and ask you much higher payment as “fare difference” after you decided to travel. Improve it now!

Useless

This app works so poorly it is essentially useless. Ethiopian would have been better served to pay Lufthansa or United a license fee to use their apps with Ethiopian branding. This app doesn’t work consistently to provide easily usable and necessary functions like boarding passes, correct flight information, or the ability to change flights. The ShebaMiles information doesn’t update in a timely manner and doesn’t let the user see detailed account information. If the company isn’t serious about fielding a quality app, they shouldn’t have one at all. This just makes the airline seem substandard from the get-go.

Worst Airline Application Ever

The app will not allow you to check yourself in. Even after you have paid for a seat and have a confirmed reservation. The fact it would not open up seat options until the day before a flight is also very disappointing.

Work in progress

This app needs a lot of work: it consistently crashes and doesn’t have flight reservation information. The prompts are also confusing as they suggest you will have to delete what you’ve just done such as a seat assignment selection when you’re trying to go back to the home screen.

Error upon error

It can be fun search Google for the various error messages you encounter and figure out why—for myriad reasons that never get exhausted—you perpetually receive cryptic error messages attempting to use this app. If you get your boarding pass (which I would consider the most valuable function of any airline app), you are in serious luck.

Very disappointing!!!

The most terrible app ever. I have no idea how the IT department still has a job if they can fix a bug in a mobile app. Nothing in this app works as intended!! Very disappointing. How does a large organization such as Ethiopian Airlines fail to have a reliable mobile app? Beyond my imagination!!

Awful

Keep trying to check in and it keeps saying error or please fill in visa information as if it doesn't already have it. Called customer service and they said it wasn't only us. Absolutely awful service.
