I have been playing Euchre since high school and trust me, that was a long time ago! This game is ok because it gives me something to do, but as the others have said, the bots don’t know how this game is played. The game is more strategy than anything, and I believe it’s best to play with humans than bots. With that, I will be deleting this app off my phone. What’s the point in keeping it? When “ they “ start really making me mad because rarely do I ever get to call a suit, that’s when I know it’s time to say adios!!
I know this may just be bad luck, but the opponents who are bots always tend to receive the bowers whenever they are the ones who are dealing. It seems a bit rigged in that sense, and there are other situations where it feels like the game is working against you to make your average more 50/50. The opponent went alone with clubs being trump, and led an off suit ace of diamonds; to which my teammate played the 10 of hearts(implying he had no diamonds to follow suit or no trump to take the trick), and I also had no trump so I threw out a random low off suit card. The very next trick the opponent who was going alone led the right(Jack of clubs); then my teammate followed suit with the king of clubs. If my teammate were behaving like a normal person who knows the game of euchre, he would have played that King in the first trick to take the loner hand away, the opponent ended up getting all 5 tricks giving them the four points. This game can be very rigged, and there are many other examples like it This 3 star rating is me being generous and because I love the game of Euchre so much.
The game is obviously rigged against you. The opponents pick up trump when they deal greater than 90% of the time, whereas I have to pass greater than 75% of the time usually due to being 4 suited with low cards. The opposing team will pick up any jack while they are dealing no matter what they have in their hand. They could have the left, nine and they will still win the hand greater than 50% of the time. When your partner goes alone, they always lead with an off suit no matter the value. On one hand my partner went alone with the right, left, ace, king, and nine of clubs. Due to rotation it was his turn to lead and he played the nine. He was trumped by both the ten and the queen. Why would the game be programmed that way especially since your opponents never lead off low or off suit, always with the right. How the cards routinely come up for the opponents is statistically impossible. Once again, terrible play.
I have played this game for over sixty-five years, and while this version might be OK for someone learning, it lacks depth and, by my initial experience, it calls up trump too easily, thus allowing for opposing teams to “euchre” the trump-making team. Most people who have played extensively will agree that so much success is the luck of the deal, but there are little innuendos of both skill and strategy that this game misses. A game called Super Euchre, while not perfect, is better. If the developers could get feedback on games being played, they could train the programming computer to refine the moves of both teams. Also if, by the fourth trick, the hand is lost or won, and the other team has a trick so that a fifth play is pointless, the cards should be thrown in. That could have an override if the game is being used by beginners.
The computer opponents continually miss play trump. They over trump their partners when they don’t have to. Example: the first partner plays the left bower and the second computer opponent plays the right when they could have sluffed. Then they lead out a looser. Example two: computer opponent leads the right bower and the opponent has the 9 and A, they play the A when it is clear the K is still in play. Why would you ever play the A when you could play the 9 even if you didn’t know the K was still in play. You would always play the lower card if your partner has clearly won the trick. I’m sure in your programming the computer is suppose to make errors but this is a little ridiculous. Over trumping the your partners left bower with the right when you don’t have to play trump at all. Please, it just taints the realism of the game
Mind you there was never an option to bypass the ridiculously over done graphics. (If I wanted to deal cards, I would break out a real deck) but now after a had you cannot even just hit the deal button, I know, it’s actually Continue, you have to wait to be told what the score was. Add to that the overall game runs about 20% slower. I just want a mind numbing game to break the monotony. Not graphics and waiting for a score. I would pay for a version that let you skip the silliness, but only if the game had all the flaws removed too. Latest updates give the opposition a near twenty to one go alone advantage. Both opponents have gone alone twice in the last five games. No matter what I and my “partner”pick as trump, if we play ANY high card of a non-trump suit, the other team trumps it. The logic is highly flawed in this game.
Realizing this is a computer simulation of the card game there are still points that make this unrealistic and frustrating. 1. Cards not shuffled after each hand. I realize that seems trivial but again if you play the game, this is essential. 2. Can’t change partners. The bot your given is a flat out novice and makes foolish bids while you sit with winning hands. My final straw was my partner bot bids being euchred 3 times in a row. 3. Constantly, more often than any real world odds, the bots you are playing against will turn over a bower during the deal, order up or call up, even though their playing hand turns out to be stacked. One or the other always has the better off suit cards or trumps your teams ace. This becomes the most frustrating factor to this game than any other. This is just a few of the failures I have observed while trying enjoy the game on the app. If the designers address the algorithm to mirror real world game play, change up partners, mimic how the game is played with better odds for outcomes, I would reconsider putting the app back on. Hopefully the endless sponsors take note of a dissatisfied user because I certainly will not pay for the removal of ads with this app as it plays today.
The developers have incorrectly made it say you “lost the hand” whenever your opponent is successful in his calling up trump. You cannot lose a hand you do not call up, therefore your opponent merely wins that hand— period. If you fail to min the majority of tricks in a hand you have called up, you are said “ to be euchered.” I am tired of seeing I lost the hand whenever my opponent makes his trump. Also, I agree with some other’s opinions, the distribution of cards is not often realistic when the same “loner” hands occur far too often, and also your partner often over-trumps you when they are not trump tight. But otherwise, play speed is okay and counting is accurate.
Overall I found this app to be a fun way to play Euchre, but ultimately ended up deleting it because of how many times I’d go alone only to lose the final round because the computer just so happened to have an Ace of the same suit as my King that gets played first (my last card is always a King when this happens). At first, I felt like it was just unlucky, until it kept happening over and over to the point I could start predicting that I’d lose the final round because I had a King and I knew the computer would magically have the Ace of the same suit. It honestly feels like, to prevent you from getting 4 points, the app would spawn the correct Ace in the computer’s hand to force you to lose.
There should be more emphasis on which player calls trump, and which player is dealing. A simple animation would suffice just to make it more clear. More importantly: The automated players call trump ALMOST EVERY TIME. I’ve played hundreds of games and NOT ONCE has it gotten around to the dealer a second time! This effectively ruins game play and strategy. If they could just dial back how often the program decides to call trump instead of passing, it would be a much more enjoyable game. Too many times my “partner” will call trump with an absolutely terrible hand and gets us euchred. Or the other team will do the same. Fixing this one flaw would make it a very enjoyable game. (And adding the animations mentioned above might make it a 5-star game)
I haven’t found one euchre app that has a truly random deal - as dealer especially, I would say after thousands of hands most apps punish the human too much. I estimate 90% of the time I have 1 trump or less on my deals. The only reason I decided to pay for this game (free version is unplayable w constant ads) is because even with my awful cards the AI get euchred ALL the time, consistently calling trump w 2 in their hand quite often only winning 1 trick. Fewer misdeals is nice, but AI also will lay down the right to trump an ace on the first trick then lead w a 10 of trump. Just really bad AI design. As a waster of time, if you pay for it, this one works just cuz the hands are quick.
I paid for this to help the developer. The game has some problems. First, the East & West players call trump around 75% of the time, you very seldom get the chance to call trump. Second, my “partner” always leads with his lowest card, even when he has the right bower and needlessly trumps me, when in a another play he plays a card he should have played instead of trumping my winning hand. Further it would be nice to have separate statistics for each “player” as I would like to see how my playing stacks up to the AI. Finally, it needs an undo as on a touch screen I am always hitting the wrong card to discard or the wrong trump suit. Not a bad game, but could be really good with some refinement.
This game is rigged to favor the bots you play against. My partner made such ridiculous moves such as calling up trump with nothing more than a 10 and a queen and going alone with weak hands that I renamed it idiot. The player next to mine always seemed to have the next highest card. And the worse is having the bots go alone constantly. Of times my idiot partner would do that and then lose. I didn’t buy the game to watch the bots play. The bots always get the better hands and I was constantly getting all 9s and 10s. So much so that I took a deck of cards and replicated the deals to see just how random the dealing was in this game. It isn’t. I go to frustrated that I deleted the game. This company already has my money, but at least I don’t have a poorly made game on my phone anymore.
The AI players make beginner-level mistakes consistently, especially leading a low trump when the other team called trump. AI appears to have been written by someone who never actually played the game, or at least not much. More evidence of this; it often puts up a big “Euchre!” banner when you simply make your bid. That’s not a euchre. Further, I expect that the deals are not random, as I was dealt two jacks far more often than odds would predict (like 3 out of 4 deals). I expect that if I played longer and started to improve my rank, the jacks would start coming far less than expected. I’ll never find out because I deleted after 3 or 4 games to 10 points (all of which I won by at least 5).
There are multiple issue I have with this app, but I had to delete the app after my ai partner called trump with only the ace and nine. Luckily I had all the rest of the trump cards. I got all the tricks in the hand when he was the one who picked it! I’ll never know if you fix this because I will never download this app again. Except for the idiot partner and that the other team always seems to know what each other is holding, this would be a very nice game. Oh wait!...that is all there is to the game. I looked at the reviews before downloading. The same issue remain after 8 new versions?!? Sounds like you will never get it right. I gave two stars because the graphics are smoother than some other card game
There is nothing more frustrating when playing Euchre than a partner that plays dumb. Despite a good interface and a nice flow to the game, I deleted it off of my iPad after 5 games. My computer partner continuously went alone, when it didn’t have the cards for it. It would go alone if it had just the right and an Ace, but no other trump. The straw came when my computer partner called an alone hand in Spades. It had the Left and King, and led the round with a 10 of diamonds. If my real-life partner did that, I would either spend time teaching them the game, or find a new partner. Since I can’t do either of those with my computer partner, I deleted the game. It was infuriating. A computer partner shouldn’t make stupid mistakes.
This game is 100% rigged and needs to be fixed. I have seen my computer partner order up “trump” with just a queen and a nine of the trump suit. Needless to say we lost the hand. I have also seen him go alone with trump where he used his jack to take the first hand on a non trump suit played by our opponents instead of his lowest trump card. Then on the next play since he had already wasted his jack, he threw his king which was taken by the sole trump card, which was an ace, that our opponent had. This cost him shooting the moon. Both of these plays by my computer partner are moves not even the dumbest human would have made. And these are only a couple of recent examples. Which means it is clearly being done on purpose costing us points and games.
I love euchre. Played the free version. Seemed ok, although the computer players’ moves seemed a little predictable. I went ahead and bought the game to avoid the very obnoxious ads. It seems that after purchasing, the algorithm for the game changed. It is boring and simplistic. The more I play, the worse the game gets. Plus the computer characters’ coding has them do STUPID things. Like a computer player declaring trump without a winning card in the hand. Or, a computer player “going alone” and leading off with a nine of off trump. No player does that! I’m sorry I purchased it. My $4.99 could have been better spent.
I love euchre. I love playing this game. BUT, the computer controlled players have no idea how to play trump. I’ve euchred the computer with him still sitting on the right bower! He’ll get euchred more times when going alone than when he gets them all. As said in other reviews, it’s as if there is no bearing on what’s in their hand on whether they call it up or not. No bowers? Go alone. 5 trump? Don’t go alone. So weird. Does the creator of the app know how to play euchre?
Finished a game against the bots 10-9 with three euchres, no successful loners, and no redeals, with the lone exception of the last hand, I experienced ads after EVERY hand, with many ads being unskipable. This comes out to playing a complete game in under thirty minutes and I had to sit through 17 ads. I understand the need for ads and I’m happy to sit through them to play a free game but 17 in one game of euchre is unacceptable. I try and come back to this app and every time I do this occurs. This issue combined with the terrible AI, the lack of quality stats, and the inability to look back through during a hand to view previous tricks makes this a terrible unplayable game. This is unfortunate as the makings of a quality game are there.
I’ve played euchre for almost 50 years and the app make’s weird mistakes that allows me to euchre the “computer “ when it could have easily made its point. For example, my opponent calls trump, loses the first two tricks. On the third trick, caller has last play and trumps trick with the right bower. Then caller leads the Queen of trump and loses the trick and is euchred. Caller could have trumped with the Queen, led the right, and pulled out my bare left, allowing their ace to win the fifth trick and got their point. Rookie mistake, I had hoped for better competition from the app, especially since I paid for it to avoid ads
I love the graphics and flow. But my partner “Jerry” makes stupid plays with trump on both offense and defense. Plays the right bower to end a trick when a lower trump he held would have won it, and then loses a decisive trick to another trump when the bower would have won it. Or, on defense and in the dealer seat, failed to use his lonely 9 of trump to take the first trick, only to see it obliterated my the opponent’s next lead of right bower. This stuff happens often enough that I just can’t take this game any more. The trump making is also too aggressive. I can live with that but it does become very predictable and beatable.
This game is absolutely terrible. You partner is so bad it’s almost like a 2 year old just throwing cards. If the opponent throws a diamond and your partner is next he will throw an off suit card instead of taking it with a trump. Yes very next card your opponent will throw a trump card so they have them. Next the opponents yes I know they are bots but the will call trump after everyone passes and the one that calls trump doesn’t have but 1 low trump card but their partner will have both jacks and the ace therefore they will win. Also when it’s your partners turn to cash trump after every one passes you will 100 percent lose. He will call a trump card that you don’t have and he will only have one trump card
I’ve had this app for awhile now. I used to enjoy playing it more. However how it appears the computer opponents almost always get complete opposite of what I have in my hand. Also the deal (even when mine) more times than not is opposite suit. I wonder if there’s been an automatic update. I’ve noticed the last few weeks there are ads after EVERY hand. It’s most annoying. I could pay $5 to get rid of ads but it’s not worth it to me. Get rid of the ads. Don’t give the computer the upper hand every single time. Maybe I’ll change my rating.
I can’t say enough bad things about this app. I don’t know if these are glitches or what, but opponents have been able to renege (spades led, the player to my left threw off when its partner has the trick won, then next trick threw a spade to trump my offsuit ace). In the game I just played, clubs was trump, I threw the right bower, but was somehow trumped by the king? Opponents get loner hands ALL the time. Whenever I have a hand that good, it never makes it to me to call trump and go alone. Ever. I ordered the jack of hearts up to my partner, the left bower was already thrown early in the hand, and I had the ace. Second to last trick, I used my ace to trump and my partner threw the jack to trump over me. No real player would do this unless they were incredibly inexperienced. Next trick my partner led with it’s last card, a low diamond, and got trumped, so we were set on the hand. The atrocious AI on this game makes it almost impossible to strategize, and very difficult to win. Deleting this app and looking for one with better AI or the ability to play real people in real time.
This game is fun but sometimes the bots can be really dumb. They frequently “go alone” and have no bars or maybe 2 of the suit they picked for trump. It’s frustrating bc it’s so stupid and in real life nobody would go alone with that hand. Also they tend to call the trump, then on the first round win the hand by throwing out the highest bar. If you called the trump, I’d assume you have lower winning cards. You can “see” all 3 of the other cards played, why do they play the highest card in the game? It’s truly maddening and I’d love for them to improve the coding/gameplay.
I agree with a prior review about it being rigged. Lots about this app bothers me. Like the first card I play 80% of the time is trumped by the opponent to my left. Also (2) go it alone occasions consecutively by the opponents in the same suite. Your partner going alone and plays the lowest trump card first, almost ensuring that your team loses the chance for (4) points. Or going alone and losing every play of the hand? What the heck??? Or your bot partner calling the trump and has only (1) non-bower trump!!! I am going to try another app. I get too frustrated at times with this one.
This game gives the overwhelming advantage to the opposing team by giving them great cards while myself and my partner are given lousy hands. I usually have 3-5 number cards and almost never turn up a bower during my deal. Also regardless of who dealt the hand I almost never have more than one of the turned up card. The only positive is that the other team calls trump when they don’t have a winning hand and we euchre them. This in no way seems to be random—seems like the creators of this program are enjoying themselves by making the player the brunt of their little joke. This game is very biased and not fun! I Do not recommend!!!!!!
I love euchre but this game consistently gives my opponent and the player to my right significantly more chances to go it alone while naming trump thus getting 4 points very often while the player to my left and I rarely are given this opportunity. Though I have complained numerous times about this, nothing is ever changed. The person writing the algorithm for this game is mathematically challenged when it comes to the true randomness of the cards dealt and has not taken the time to look at the statistics of the game. I can win often because of the cards my opponent is dealt but it is rare that I get the great hands he does. It does not make for a fun game to play.
When you are randomly dealing out Euchre cards, there’s no way you should get primarily 9’s and 10’s. At least 50% of my cards are 9’s and 10’s. That is just not realistic. Mathematically, one third should be 9’s and 10’s. I kept getting 3 or 4 cards in each hand of 9’s and 10’s. If your intent was to frustrate people, I think you succeeded in my case. I am a veteran Euchre player, and I really enjoy the game. I accept losing 50% of my games. That’s normal. I applaud you for the ability to write the program to make this game work. I think I will keep playing it just to try to see how well you programmed it when the player doesn’t even try to win.
I think the developers don’t even know how to play Euchre. My partner Jeremy actually play well and understands the game. But Barbara is a complete idiot on how she is programmed and Michael isn’t far behind. Both of them name trump on anything like lone left with no aces. When you are second to last to play and it’s your partners trick with an ace, you don’t Trump it with the right Bauer. Other times it’s their partners trick that they trumped and Barbara will put Trump on it too even though she could lay off. Obviously there are different ways to play but there always things you never do and makes me think they don’t know how to play. I wanted a Euchre app to play competitive games. This isn’t it.
Just. Terrible. A few reviews said this app may be good for beginners but I disagree, as the only thing it will teach you is how NOT to play the game of Euchre. All of the virtual players call trump with almost no trump in their hand and get Euchered at least 3-4 times per match (in fact, most of the points between both teams are not earned, but come from these failed hands). As the dealer, you also very (very) rarely get a playable hand, which is not realistic. On the positive side, the user experience/interface presents very well, but the gameplay is just too annoying to have any fun. I have since deleted the app.
There’s something seriously wrong with the dealing. The developers will tell you that’s not true, but there’s too many people saying it to not have some truth. I think the developers need to improve their coding skills. This team also refused to let me use my birth name as a user name, which I found absurd and had no way to petition their decision. Spend your time better by not playing this app.
The other team turns up bowers a large percentage of their deals. They almost always have the cards to pick up their deal or call if everyone passes. The cards definitely do NOT favor the human player in the game. The other thing that is maddening is when my partner goes alone and has to lead he will throw out an off suit or his lowest card instead of leading with a bower, even though he has them. Nobody would ever play an alone hand that way. It seems that whoever wrote the software for this game doesn’t understand the strategies of the game. This game needs a serious re-write. If you’re trying to learn how to play don’t follow what these player do.
There must be a reward for going alone bc the bots go alone get euchred and keep real players from playing. In my entire life I’ve never been euchre going alone, I may not get all five tricks but I get a minimum of three. Some bots are so awful I have to start a new game. Not sure about the players on here or how they are rewarded but most are terrible and have no idea how to play the game.
This is a fun game with a lot of potential. The one thing that needs to be addressed is how the AI determines whether or not to order/call trump. There are far too many times where trump is called when the AI player calling it has a horrible hand. Also, I was taught that you can’t call trump if you don’t have that suit in your hand. Said another way, I can’t call spades if I don’t have any spades. This game allows you to call trump without that suit in your hand. This game is close to being 5 stars if you fix the first issue I’ve described.
Terrible coding. It must be coded to always be mediocre. I never hand a decent hand. And you’re partner must be coded to always play aggressive because he is constantly calling trump when he shouldn’t. I wish I could attach a picture because I screenshot it and my partner called trump without the right, left, ace, or king. I had the right left and king and he calls trump. So either it’s coded to know what your hand is when he calls trump or it’s coded to just always call trump if it makes it to your partner. Either way it’s no fun. It would be nice if you could adjust your teammate and opponents play style to be aggressive or conservative. Don’t download. Not worth it.
Great looking game. My guess is the developers are better artists than card players, because the game play is horribly bad at times. Like taking a hand as the last player with a high trump and leading back a low trump. Or going alone and leading an off-trump card when they had a guaranteed loner if they just led trump. Or ordering up as my partner when they have nothing in their hand. I think the bots can "see" their partner's hand because they often order up what their partner has when they have nothing.
If you enjoy playing Euchre don’t waste your money paying for the ad free version of this one. In just about every game one of the other players will attempt to go solo in one of the first 3 hands, but usually the 2nd hand. You can practically set your watch by it. I just played a game where my partner could have trumped a solo attempt on the first trick but chose to play a different suit, and then played his trump cards allowing the solo to be successful. There are numerous other examples of why this version stinks already mentioned by other reviewers. In short, the game play isn’t nearly good enough.
I didn’t play enough to determine if the engine is competitive or not because the game play is too slow to tolerate it that long. * An ad pops up after every hand, and even though they can be closed without watching the whole thing, it’s time consuming and there is no flow to the game. * After each ad closes, another pop-up with a summary of the tricks won and the current score is displayed requiring the player to press continue. This information is already displayed elsewhere, so it’s completely unnecessary. * Some hands may be determined after 3 tricks, and in all hands the last trick only requires the player to lay their last card. The game could easily automate play at these points without requiring the user to make a selection. Not doing so makes the game slower than necessary. There’s at least one other online euchre game that’s significantly better than this one.
I love playing Euchre, but this game needs to be fixed. Sometimes my partner will make a trump call and only have one trump card and off suit 9’s and 10’s. I’ve also euchre’d the opponents 5 times in a row to win a game. There also have been games where every hand won was a “lay down loner”. It just seems like the logic is a little off as far as which card to play when. The ads get to be a little much at times, but at least they aren’t very long. If the game play were improved I would consider paying to have the adds removed.
I’ve played this game for as long as I can remember. Never have I seen some of the idiotic moves this game has. Calls trump consistently with no jacks. Will play a top jack trump card when playing fourth instead of playing a 9 or 10. There are so many errors in this game. Clearly the makers have no true understanding of this game. Partner will order up with one trump card in their hand making your team lose constantly. The stupidity of the way it is played shocks me. This is not how true euchre is played. Very sad and needs a ton of improvement to follow the stats of a regular game.
I keep trying to enjoy this game, but the game is rigged so the player is regularly dealt 3 or 4 suits, lots of 9, 10 and queens. You rarely get to call Trump with those cards and you just play along following suit for the vast majority of hands. I just played for the last hour, called trump three times in five games, two times were a reach with one time getting bumped. It is so boring to just follow suit most hands. The bots frequently turn up a jack on the deal, way more than regular card playing and they rarely don’t call trump so if you have a good hand you don’t get to use it. I am done with this game.
I enjoy euchre, just to play it. But I agree with another reviewer, it’s a little rigged. My team seems to rarely win. Often the player to my right always seems to have a bower turn up on his shuffle. Even “worse” after every round (for the free version) you have to watch an add. I’m not sure it’s worth the $5 to become “add free”. I did pay that on another game to become add free, and it’s still showing adds. It’s just fun to play euchre, but this one can be a little frustrating
If you were actually playing euchre and caught a renig, what would you do? Naturally you call to look at the trick. I’m not a great euchre player, but I think I’ve seen renigs from this game on multiple occasions and there’s no way to know for certain. Also — you can count on your opponent ALWAYS having the ace of your short suit and the show card will be a bower for your opponent to pick up at an astonishing rate. Also — it’s often difficult to tell who is ordering up trump.
Your partner will get you euchred a lot! They will go alone and lead with an off suit low number, it makes no sense. They tend to stick with the “Next” rule when a suit is turned down even when it makes zero sense to do so. It’s still fun but I wish the bots played more realistically instead of like someone who just learned the game. Often then opposing team will call trump and you’ll realize the non-ordering partner was the only one with trump which seems odd.
The 3 computer lead players are not programmed to play the game properly or logically. For example when going alone a real player would never lead off with an automatic losing card. The objective of going alone is to win all 5 tricks. The computer lead players call trump many times when realistically they never would. Lastly, the computer lead competitor players get lay down go alone hands frequently. Too frequently
The odds in this game are preposterous. This game is nothing like playing the real thing. I understand you might have a bad run of cards sometimes but this game consistently is one bad hand after another. Don’t expect any trump cards when it’s your deal either. Not sure if it’s an error in their programming but if your looking for a game that’s realistic and enjoyable to play, download something else. I actually paid for this game too. I gave this game a chance but I’m done. Sorry if I sound disgruntled but I’m just doing my part to prevent other people from wasting their time and money.
I just cannot get over the way this game was set up. I've never seen such pathetic plays in all my euchre life. For instance, my partner will call trump with only 2 trump cards. I'll order up trump with a diamond and my partner will lead with an ace of diamonds. Really ?? The opposing team plays the same. Will call trump with only two cards and they are not necessarily high rollers. I've done a lot of head scratching with this game. My most puzzling one was when my partner called up trump and went alone with only two trump cards and those did not include the high Jack card. Wow, really, really bad plays.
The game itself is okay. Easy to see cards and clear who played what. Would like additional rule choices. I grew up with a variant that upped the stakes on loner hands. You had to take all 5 tricks on a loner or you lost 2 points. If you’re going to go for 4 points you had better take them all. The worst part of the game is the very loud and annoying ads that pop up between every hand that require two clicks on opposite corners to get back to the game. There are two teams of 2 players each. When naming a suit (ordering up trump), a player states that their team intends to win the majority of tricks of the hand. A failure of the bidding team to win three tricks is referred to as being "euchred", and that team is penalized by giving the opposing team two points. A caller with very good cards can "go alone" (order up alone), in which case the caller tries to win the march without a partner. The partner of a caller in a lone hand does not play, and if the caller achieves the march (winning all 5 tricks), the winning partners score 4 points. If only three or four of the tricks are taken while going alone, then only one point is scored. If euchred while playing alone, the opposing team still only receives 2 points. The primary rule to remember when playing Euchre is that one is never required to play the trump suit (unless that is the one that is led), but one is required to follow suit if possible.
