Great for Croatia - has all the ferry lines

This app was fantastic for Croatia ferries to the islands because it has ALL the ferry lines from one port to the next port in departure time order, and gives arrival times too. It also shows the prices up front, and from what I can tell charges the same price as going to the individual ferry line websites. Buying a ticket took just two minutes — I bought two tickets while running for a ferry!

Horrible Customer Service

I booked tickets for a ferry from Corfu to Sarandë for hours after my flight would land but my flight ended up being delayed so I contacted support to change the tickets. I was told that they would contact the ferry company and try to change to the next day for me and that I would receive an email update. Hours later I never received an email update so I went back to the chat, I could see that the person who helped me was online within the last 15 minutes so I went ahead and asked if there was any update. I saw that they read my message, I went out of the app to check my email to come back to see that the chat was no longer there. The employee must have deleted. The integrity of their support employees is really questionable so much that I don’t want to use the app ever again. I was able to call the ferry company myself once in Greece from the hotel phone and they changed it no problem.

GREAT APP!

Great app, it’s quick and effective. Any destination you’d like to find it’s there. The plus is that you can check in before your trip so no need to print out your ticket just have it on your phone !!

Fine one way, WORST seats return trip!

This crApp assigned us the two absolute WORST seats possible (facing two other people with zero leg room). There were plenty of other seats available so ni have no idea why it would have stuck us with the chum of the choices. We booked them 2 1/2 months ahead of time so it’s not like they couldn’t have warned us or - hey better yet! - given us better seats! Fine for actually buying the tickets and didn’t use any other features. A generous 3 stars.

Not Reliable

This app is okay for booking tickets but it doesn’t keep you up to date, sometimes it says the ferries are late they are not, sometimes canceled doesn’t tell you. Not sure it’s 100% their fault, the ferries in Greece are terribly unreliable, at least 50% late if they show up. Take a ferry in the morning you are okay. Fly back you have a better chance of getting to your destination. We have been to 43 countries, Blue Star is probably the most disappointing but in general the ferries in the afternoon are all pretty bad.

Crappy app

First, I wasn’t able to access my trips without having the confirmation numbers which I had already input. Then it didn’t pull up all of my trips. Lastly, I was searching for a possible trips but it makes it difficult to change itineraries within a search, change dates, etc. It should be possible to easily cancel a trip search and start over again. Basic stuff for a trip app. Not impressed.

Do not trust the arrival times listed on the app

The ferries add stops to your itinerary and they are not reflected on the app so you won’t find out until you are on the ferry. If you are on any kind of time crunch I would keep this in mind and add another hour or two to your planning. I’m not sure if it’s ferry hopper and the app that aren’t communicating or if the ferry companies are just doing their own thing, but it can add a significant delay to your projected arrival time.

The app does not inform me any ferry cancellations in Greece

I used this app to book two ferry trips in Greece. The ferry operators canceled both schedule and confirmed passages without any email or notices; and the app still showed that the trips were on schedule. even after they were cancelled. I ended up being stranded at the port, under the brutal Greek summer sun, desperately dealing with the mess I was being left in. Despite the slick UI of the app, it does not inform passengers of crucial reality on the ground. What good does it do??

Just get your tickets directly from me the ferry

All I can say is just what a waste of time and money. I had paid extra for access to support. I needed to change my ticket while on an island. I couldn’t get in touch with anyone. I eventually needed to buy tickets at the port. Since tickets were purchased through a third party I wasn’t even able to work out my situation directly with the ferry company.

Isn’t accurate

*Doesn’t update with correct ramp/dock # information *Doesn’t reflect accurately reflect delays Is fine IF, AND ONLY IF, everything goes smoothly. You’re screwed if the ramp Port Authorities change ramps, boats are delayed, etc. This app could be amazing if it were accurate because the employees at the port often give equally inaccurate information.

The app goes blank after asking if I want to add itinerary.

I’ve reset phone even had an update the night before. So disappointed it’s not working for me. Second ferry trip I’ve booked and still can’t get the app to show anything other than a blank white screen.

International Cards Not Accepted

Am from the Bahamas and only my American card worked that was frustrating however once I used my USA card the process of purchasing was seamless

Does not reimburse for cancelled ferries.

I had two ferries in Italy cancelled due to weather. I finally figured out how to chat a live agent (was not easy). Ferryhopper does not reimburse until they get reimbursed from the ferry operator. It’s been over a week, and I still don’t have a refund. Absolutely ridiculous. No other business works this way. Avoid times infinity.

App not working

The App used to work great, but after I upgraded my iPhone 15 Pro Max running OS17.1.1, it’s not working! Now, when I open the App, I get the logo screen for a second, and then I get a blank white screen. I have deleted and reinstalled the App and still get the same results. Please fix this issue.

Unreliable service

I purchased the premium service and it was a waste of money. Return times vary and they are at least 12 hours late while they keep asking the same questions without offering assistance. AVOID

The schedule that they have is wrong

We took an NLG ferry that showed we would arrive at a certain time and we arrived and hour later! And this was happening every we took the ferry, minimum an hour late. Do not trust this app for schedule!!!

Don’t use Ferryhopper

If your ferry is canceled, Ferryhopper provides no support, doesn’t allow rebooking on their site, and will charge you a cancellation fee even though you must cancel directly with the ferry company yourself. Just book direct.

Works partially

Things that haven’t worked: Ferry location Downloading tickets AI chat when there is issues Can’t choose seats What has worked: Selling me a ticket I had to pay 2 euros each to print my tickets from the ferry company. This despite a having bought on the app.

Refunds not possible

No assistance with refunds. FH will direct you to the ferry company and the ferry company states the purchase was made through a third party refunds come from FH. In hindsight, I should have purchased directly from the actual ferry company.

An intimidating process made easy

Exactly what an app should be. Works easily, just enter your travel points, view all your options with vessel info, reserve seats or not, add your names and contact info, then pay with a credit card payment, done! Also, I made a mistake on one of my reservations, and I contacted ferryhopper.com, and they immediately responded and fixed my error for a minimal charge. Nice when everything works!

App will scam you beware

I took a ferry in Italy. Ferry was hours late at the fault of ferry operator. However I was denied a refund. This company does not have your best interest in heart and will steal money from you if given the option. I wish I had never booked with them.

Just go to a ticket office

Be warned that this app acts like it is for E tickets it even says we’ll send you an electronic ticket it also sends you a Q code but then at the same time it tells you you need to print out tickets. None of which makes any sense whatsoever but now I’m stuck running around looking for printed tickets. Very hopper is not clear on this at all until it already has your money.
