App is horrible, allows you to pay sometimes on the app then it completely shuts down and says you only can pay through your banks website then it takes about a week just for your payment to come out of your bank account to a week for them to update your balance on the card. And it does show all of the transactions like a normal debit card would back to back, it skips transactions and payments on the timeline. Make the app better and have better service when paying the bills the money comes directly out at that moment and refresh the balances at that moment or maybe a business day or two. And also the points stay pending for weeks and you don’t really get them until you pay numerous times on the card by then your just waiting for a lot of transactions to come out of your own money and bank account because the time frame of the payments will never be on track because the system
I always pay my bill using my banks bill pay. For awhile things were great. I’d set my payment for a Friday and my account was updated by the next day. For. The last 2 months, though, it’s take over a week and it still doesn’t show my updated available balance. Makes my bill paying hard to plan because I use this card to tide me over between paydays. Update: yet another month, the card has been paid in full, the money taken out of my account and my available credit is STILL not updated a week later. Do you not have someone that can program your computers do things automatically? Are you upset because I pay the card off every month and you don’t get extra money from me?
I have this card for about 3 years now, thanks to this card that reports every month I was able to bring my score up and apply for and actual CCard with a good credit limit, I occasionally used it but never had issues with payments always make payments 15days before my payment is due and always pay the entire balance it’s a great ccard for those with no credit at all or bad credit don’t understand the bad reviews.
Do not use this terrible service, captiol 1 is better and only use this card if you have no other viable option. It’s always slow. Customer service is beyond poor and they do not accurately track your payments. If I could give it a negative star I would. I recommend any other company besides this one. You can pay on the 15 th and it will take 14-19 days to show that it was paid and it has low limit for secured cards you’re better off using cap1 Amex discover or any other card service. Closed my account and never coming back. First progress is absolutely terrible.
This App blows. I tried to make a payment and it tells me to pay online through my bank account. This App is useless and no one at the company can answer your questions or resolve your problem with making payments through the app. They make all this money but can’t hire ANYONE to fix the app or when they will update their service. Even you activate your card and speak to a representative they have no clue to what is going on with the app. They just want your payment. Boooooooooooo Useless App and they won’t respond to your reviews
This app is absolutely terrible, you can’t make payments ever on it, or on their website, it always gives an error. setting up bill pay through the bank is an alternative but takes 10 days for the payment to actually go through, and when you call the customer service they charge a 10$ fee to pay whatever payment you need to make towards the card. terrible app, terrible company, they’ll plummet your credit score.
Most people don’t like it because you can’t make payments on the app but you can set up bill pay with your bank and pay it that way. I use my mobile bank and my credit score is increasing. Give it a try
Don’t allowed you to make a payment and when I finally did I got an confirmation number a weeks later I see that the money don’t show coming out of my bank statement so when I called them. They told me I got hit with a late payment! How ?? It’s not my fault your app don’t work. I send the payment there app don’t work. So I try logging in again to submit another payment now the app tells me I have to call my bank and make a payment threw bill pay.
Everytime I try to make my payment on the app is says it’s unavailable. I call to process the payment over the phone and it costs me $10 extra. Not really fair since the app not working is not fault of my own! Otherwise not a bad card. Simple secured card.
The card would be a lot better IF it had a chip, but it does not & some places will not accept the card for certain kinds of transactions. 🙄 example. Car Rentals
Had a card for a $200 limit, never used the app because of how bad it was. Ended up spending $15 on it and forgot to pay it back, ended up racking $60 in late fees and my credit score dropped 100 points. No email, no phone call, thought I never used the card so I didn’t even think to check. Do not go through this credit card company.
Pretty self explanatory. Aside from the crashing, the app isn’t bad. That’s a major problem to have however since you charge to make payments any other way.
It’s a hit or miss with paying my card through the app . Sometimes it works and sometimes it don’t and my bank does not have a feature to bill pay so I can only pay when the app is working . Needs a serious fix I’d close the account if it didn’t look good on my credit.
I can’t believe this company, they are charging me for a card they have yet to resend me so it wants me to pay late fees to a card I can’t even use and you can’t contact them via anything other than by phone and the wait times can be terrible. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the time and trouble
Outdated software, and no auto payment features. All payments MUST be via Bank Account withdrawals.
This bank helped me build my credit, will always thank them for that, but they’re like a child you wish you never had - you MUST stay on top of them or you’ll loose $. That’s all I’ll say about that. 😂
I can NEVER make payment directly through yall website or app! I tried multiple different accounts and i always get a message that say it was unable to process and to try bill pay. Which causes my payment to be late. FIX THIS , it’s becoming an extreme inconvenience
Information is inaccurate and does not update. Balance shown is incorrect. When payments are made the app will say it couldn’t be made when it actually did go through. I regret choosing first progress, the app is impossible to use.
So the app won’t allow me to make my second payment which is making my payment late. Now if Im not able to make the payment on time I will be getting late fees on top of late fees. Yet this issue hasn’t been fixed. Reps don’t help
The mobile app keeps crashing and I literally cannot even sign into the desktop webpage. How am I supposed to conduct business if none of the services you offer work?
This company is so shady that they will reverse your payment to change additional late fees.. and worsen your credit score.. I hate this card.. if they ever accept my payment in full I’m canceling it.. BEWARE!!

I’ve always spoke badly about credit one because they are one of the worst companies I’ve ever had the displeasure to use but first progress is somehow worse. I get all of my paychecks to my Venmo account (as well as pay all of my bills with my venmo debit card) because I’ve had too many issues with actual banks in the past. I was able to open the first progress credit card account with said Venmo account and now am unable to pay my debt off with it because they do not recognize venmo as an actual bank despite having an account and routing number. I tried paying over the phone and explained everything. The man i spoke to seemed a little off and i genuinely felt like i was being scammed the entire time (i even continuously checked my account after the call for a couple days to make sure all of my money wasn’t stolen) and he ignored any concerns I’d had. I was told my payment went through only to see the payment reversed 3 days later and now I’m being charged yet another late fee. The second I’m able to pay off this card i will be closing my account, although from what I’ve seen in other reviews that might be just as difficult. Wish me luck.
So my bills due on the 24th there is no way to sign up for auto pay. They make it very difficult to make a payment on time so they can get a late fee out of you. I’ve tried paying my bill early several times and it always tells me that my payment won’t be accepted because it’s being processed to early. I’ve never been late in over a year but this last time it would not let me select my due date or a few days before to make a payment. The earliest it would let me select was the 26th. Why is that is my bill is due on the 24th? Now I have a 30 dollar late fee. I have 13 credit cards and this company is the only one that is difficult to make payments on. I will be closing this account ASAP if that late fee isn’t reversed you can bet on that.
So this card has boosted my credit by 100 points in 1 year. There’s no catch I’m not paid to say this… Now you just gotta make sure you stay on TOP of your payments pay ALWAYS a week early . Not on the due date. A week prior to your due date. Just do it this way. And your score will JUMP. Im telling you if I cold post my credit Carma app and show y’all when I opened up my account and how much it jumped with this card. Im telling y’all. Im about ready to get another card with a higher credit limit….. yes they make you pay $10 if you wanna pay your bill over the phone… yes if you can pay thru your own bank electronically.. it’s just.. I want to go into their app and pay right then and there… they NEED to fix that. There’s a lot of negative reviews… it’s cuz I guarantee y’all paid late or something. Best credit card I’ve ever had.
I see so many bad reviews but I've personally never had any issues with this credit card and I've had it for about 2 years now. The only negative was that it was a huge inconvenience trying to make my payment every month, you used to either have to pay via bill pay with your bank or through money gram, or of course over the phone with them for $10 (absolutely not) but now they have added the feature so we can make payments directly with them via ACH. Much easier. The only improvement needed for the app is most def the password feature when logging in. It's such a hassle typing in the password every time, we def need Face ID feature. Also I would like to add I have never been given a increase in my credit limit I'm not sure that's something they even offer.
A criminal operation. Opened account in December, my account was debited $49 fee on December 10th. An envelope postmarked January 10th was sent to me. On the phone I find out the first payment due date was January 14th before envelope in my hands. I was reported late and a late fee assessed. This is a horrendous start to a new account relationship. The card is now blocked from use or access to my own money until I pay the $49 fee back. Remember we’re talking about my money which is in the possession of First Progress. Useless customer service team, basically robots. Incapable of overriding the system to correct account errors or remove block.
This app doesn’t not update your transactions. It might even take 2 days for it to show up on the app. If you spend money, you won’t know your remaining limit until the next day or so You won’t be able to pay through the app. Yes there is a “pay card” tab but it’s just a message to tell you to go online or go through your bank to pay your balances. Mind you it takes 7-10 business days for them to receive the check. When they get the check they definitely take their time cashing it. I tried to call them and the automated machine will say your account is invalid, regardless how CORRECT you know you’re inputting information. Once you get ahold of the representatives, it’s the most sketchy & unprofessional experience. I hung up the first 2 times I called because I thought I was about to get my identity stolen. I do not recommend this company AT ALL. Please do not put yourself through this.
Reviews and rating speak for themself. This secured card did nothing to my credit score. When closing the customer service was terrible, they never closed the account when I requested. 10 weeks later when I call to ask where my check refund is turns out the agent never closed the account and I will need to wait another 10 weeks. Managers are very dumb and don’t know how to talk to people. Don’t recommend this card. There are a lot better options out there.
Going with this company has genuinely ruined my credit, this is the first credit card I got so I had no credit to start, I paid off the first month no problem then I month after month every time I tried to pay the card off and every time I get the same “sorry we are unable to process payments right now” I got this card back in like November and as of writing this its may and my credit is at like 423 or something
It’s horrible enough that they don’t have a convenient way to pay your bill online with a debit card or checking account through their app but they also charge a $10 fee for paying otp with a customer representative. Not to mention once you pay you don’t have access to your money for up to 10 business days which is unheard of! Absolutely ridiculous!
They take your initial deposit just to have you wait up until a month to be accepted and receive the card with your funds on it. Then ask you to confirm your identity and bank information. Something that she be done within the application process. I advise no one to attempt to get this card. Not worth the hassle
This has been the worst credit card experience ever they really make it hard to do anything and everything I thought once we got the app things would get easier….nope still worth noting really online and mobile app only been useful for checking the balance will be canceling this line ASAP
I’m having an issue making payments to my card. I made the payment just for days later the payment to get reversed and I’m charged a late fee. Beware of first progress credit cards they will not let you pay the balance. They want you to pay late fees. To keep you in the whole.

It’s entirely too difficult to make a simple monthly balance payment through this app. I should have known better when downloading the app was unbelievable hardly than expected. Website is not helpful either. Will be closing acct soon.
No way of paying balance online or on the app. Takes too long for them to recover the money when you pay over the phone so then it says the payment was late which then ruins your credit..about to cancel this card
The app does not allow you to make a payment. You are supposed to go to your bank to send a payment. If you try to just make a payment over the phone instead, you get charged a fee. So what is the purpose of this app?
Terrible services can’t keep you updated on your spending unable to make payment in person you have to pay a fee everytime you call to make a payment just seem like a scheme
