Good but not great
I've been using this mobile banking app for over three years now. I can do whatever I need to do re: banking, but this latest version seems a step or two backwards. Previous versions let one use touch ID to login. That's gone now. REALLY WANT then to bring Touch-ID login back!!! Previous versions of the mobile deposit feature worked really great! You entered your details, manually snapped a picture of the front and the back of the check, making sure you had all four corners within the boundaries of the picture, and Bingo! Your deposit was in. This version automatically snaps the pictures when it thinks the four corners are within the boundaries. You'd think that would be a good idea, but actually it's a lot harder to work with, and a lot harder to get an acceptable picture. Sometimes newer isn't really better.

It used to be better
I’ve been using this app for about three years. I’ve never had a single issue until they updated their app and removed the feature to make a principal payment. Why would you update the app and remove a feature? That seems counterintuitive. Anyway, the app says that I can make an extra payment if I want, but depending on my loan depends on if it’s applied to the interest or the principal. It doesn’t give any more details on that. It also says to call their helpdesk if you’d like to make a principal-only payment. That defeats the convenience of having the app if I’m going to have to call each month to pay down the principal. When I call, whether it’s in the morning or afternoon, the hold time is ridiculous. I was on hold for almost 30 minutes before I had to hang up to take care of other things. To add insult to injury, the prerecorded voice over while on hold tells me to use the app to make things quicker and more convenient. That is just frustrating. I can’t be waiting on the phone for so long to do something that took 10 seconds on the app. This is excruciatingly annoying. Please update the app and bring back the feature to make principal payments towards your loans.

Needs a bit of work
Overall, I love this app, it’s super easy to do my banking with, and I love the new snapshot screen! I also have 2 issues: The first is that the snapshot screen ALWAYS tells me I have 1 new notification awaiting my attention, and when I click on that I have to log in and it takes me straight to my regular banking screen and there are no notifications that I can find. It’s probably just my monthly statement or something, but it bugs the crap out of me. Second, the check deposit feature has an extremely hard time focusing on checks now, and constantly asks me to put the check on a darker background. It works eventually, but takes about 10 minutes. With me trying the check on different surfaces. Anyways, great app, just needs a bit of fine tuning!

Technology Progressive
First Tech customer service, ease of account funds management, and low/no fee structure is absolutely why I continue to bank here and refer those who will appreciate this experience. However, it is painfully obvious that, for an institution with Tech in the name, there is a lack of funding to upgrade online banking, mobile banking (which has a basic connection with their website service), and API connections to worthwhile third party services and support for enhanced account management and features. This is hard to accept as a very technology dependent person operating a business that also relies heavily on this. Their mobile app and website have seen some useful upgrades, but it’s no where near the capabilities of their big corporate counterparts. Perhaps we need to support our bank with a KickStarter campaign. Whatever it takes to get their online systems as amazing as their in person service.

BEST CU
I never write reviews, but I have to for these guys. First off they gave me a chance to bank when others wouldn’t and for that I will always be greatful! Second the staff is always nice and everyone knows what they are doing. Three there is no fees for the carefree checking. Four, and what really is the best part is when something is pending it doesn’t take 5-7 days to clear. It only takes 1-2 days max with this bank. That is the best feature because sometimes putting a deposit down for like a hotel usually takes forever to get it bank but not with these guys. FTFCU is just the best overall and I’ve tried ALL the banks. Lol. I found my main bank and I’m happy it’s with these guys!

The app never works correctly
Everything statement this bank puts out about the app is a flat out lie. If you have the beta app, which works better, keep it. The bank have put out a statement saying issues with the regular app (this one, the blue one. Beta app is black) are resolved, and asking people to stop using the beta app. Issues are *not* resolved. The widget doesn’t load, so quickly checking balances is gone again. Thanks a lot first tech. Of course it benefits the bank when people don’t check their balance and spend too much. The interphase is less helpful when you do sign in, which you will have to take the time to sign in if you want to see your balance. Calling in and talking with someone about the app is painful. No call center person ever has any information at first tech. They don’t even have information about banking, let alone the app. “We are working on it” is the only response you’ll ever get, and there are perpetual problems at this institution.

App is good except for one thing: connecting to the app itself
This app does everything I need it to do: I can check balances (sometimes), deposit checks, and other general banking needs. The only reason I have given it four stars is because sometimes, for no apparent reason, the app gets stuck in the loading cycle. Snapshot menu, e-deposit menu, or anywhere else. It doesn’t matter when it gets stuck, nothing loads. Force closing and reopening the app does not help. Sometimes when it happens, I’ll try to use my computer for the full website and get the same problem of not connecting. Nothing else requiring internet is lagging or not working when this happens, so it is not my connection. Other than that, great app.

Love the bank, app not so much
I really enjoy using first tech as a banking option; however, I do not care for the app as much. It’s often glitchy, lags when selecting between tabs and I find the bill pay option either loads a blank screen or the most recent issue is an unexpected error occurring. A little pet peeve that doesn’t interfere with the functionality of the app, is the icons in the bill pay. The way it is set up is a little distracting. I would prefer just to see the name of the company/person I wish to pay rather than what seems like an unorganized mess of the same exact icon for each payer and then their names. It is just distracting and not user friendly. But again, I do love the credit union and have been with them for years, hopefully there will be improvements with the app.

Good when it works frustrating 90% of the time
I have been with first tech credit union through three bank name changes for over 10 years. over this time, I’ve watched their app get better and get worse. The last few versions of the app seem rather unstable and have the most connection issues I’ve ever had with the app to a point that the current version won’t even connect for me and hasn’t connected for the last three days. generally, you can log into the website when this is happening, but not always. It would be nice if they could just make a stable app that actually gave you your balances and let you see your accounts without always having problems. When the app is working, it makes it easy to check Your balance and things in recent account activity. Otherwise it’s below par compared to other banking apps.

Lifer
I love first tech and I’m a lifer with them. They really do look out for their members with reasonable interest rates, and high credit limits. I’ve fallen in love with the new personal line of credit account they got for me so I can borrow cash instantly whenever I need and for every hundred it’s only 4 cents a day interest. You CANT beat that. App can use some modern improvements obviously but everything is functional. Would love for the Zelle feature to also run smoother and not so delayed and choppy feeling but that works too. Looking forward to what they continue to offer going forward for their consumers

Intermittent errors and crashes are consistent, not good for a bank.
I can only speak from an iPhone perspective, but I know others with Androids have problems with this app as well. So many different problems, it makes me question the decision making and safety of my money in their hands, where I used to trust them much more. Issues: -I often see intermittent server connection errors, or server error messages at least that crash the app so you can’t use it at all -App often hangs with log in attempts -App often forces you to log in twice -App times out inconsistently and randomly, then crashes and disappears -App versions aren’t compatible with older iOS versions so lately you must upgrade to newest iOS version even if you don’t want to. This should not happen. -The Touch ID was taken away-this was a bad choice -Spontaneously quits processing in the middle of transactions. Bank transactions. This has happened to me more than once when attempting to transfer $ between accounts. -App often closed for maintenance —it’s closed right now, which is why I’m writing this! -The look and feel changes so often you can’t tell if it’s legit or if it’s been hijacked All of these don’t inspire trust. And this is a bank! First Tech is a good bank, the app should match that quality but it doesn’t.

Mostly works. Sometimes. A little bit.
This app more or less works within limitations. At the branch they told me to use the other app with the black icon, but that thing is iPhone only and has no iPad support. This one works better than that. It has some pretty fatal flaws, though: 1. It supports landscape mode only. Since people hold their iPad in portrait orientation that makes it pretty annoying to use unless the iPad is docked. 2. For over a year the settings have been inaccessible. Attempting to go to the settings page just reloads the screen over and over. This is very much Not Me: the problem has persisted across devices, across clean installs, across device resets, across OS upgrades. The app settings are just straight up broken. 3. Tabbing out for even a second (for example, to update your records in another app) logs you out. I appreciate conservative security but that's patently ridiculous. 4. Every so often the app just presents a blank white screen with a frozen "wait circle" icon. You have to force quit it to make the thing work again. I'm reasonably happy with FTCU as an institution but their software has always been abysmal. Kind of ironic for a tech industry credit union!

Everything you want in a mobile banking app
Sometimes I use the app even when I have access to the PC because it’s just faster. Streamlined and quick. Easy to poke around and find what you need. We moved away from a local branch 13 years ago and figured we would keep our accounts for a while and then switch to something more geographically convenient. However with the continual improvements we have never felt hindered by being so far from a “real” branch. We have easily managed everything remotely and the app is icing on the cake. Especially love the new and improved mobile deposit. Great job!

Bill pay suggestion
I had visited a branch to speak to a personal banker about opening a checking account. Automatic Bill Pay is a critical issue for me as I own several rental properties and I have many items that are set on auto pay. I was disappointed that First Tech uses a third party to pay bills and I would be unable to view canceled checks for individual payments without ordering copies. For this reason I have decided not to use First Tech for my checking. However I am very pleased with their investment people and do have a savings account with First Tech.

Wrong default date when paying off credit card
I’ve been using this app for the past year and a half and it mostly gets the job done. One issue I’ve been consistently running into is that when paying off my credit card though the “Pay now” button, the default value of the “date” field is incorrect. The default value should be today, but instead the month and day are swapped. So for most of the year, during the first half of the month, the default date the payment would go through is some future date a couple months in the future. Ex: if it’s March 7th, the default value for the “date” field would be July 3rd. It would be great if this issue could be fixed so I don’t have to change the payment date every time I pay off my credit card.

Zelle does not work, app crashes occasionally
I currently own a iPhone 14 pro which I keep up to date. The First Tech App used to be amazing, but the past 6 months there has been so many issues with the app. For one, Zelle doesn't work at all. This doesn't seem like a big issue, cause maybe I can use the Zelle app. Nope. Zelle app forces me to go through the First Tech app, which again, does not work. Other small issues occur as well such as crashes, or transfers not going through. Crashes aren't common, but the transfers not going through does happen a lot. As for now, the app gets a 3/5 stars since it still works, but it's the bugs that have brought down the rating.

Very Confused UI & Navigation.
This review is majorly For Credit card features and functionality. The app over all UI is fine but finding information related to credit card is very cumbersome. For instance today I was looking at the app on my credit card payment which they call as deposits - it does not tell me how many payments I have made in this current cycle but shows all payment and it is very confusing as a customer to know how many payment I have made in this cycle. Funny is when you look at account section it simply does not show all payment you have made in the current cycle as well it only shows outstanding , cycle due and date. This could be simplified as it’s just a sync.

Abysmal with consistency
This app has always been problematic and to see such high rated reviews is concerning. For one, when logging in for the first time using a device, you simply need to verify via text, call, email, and request to save device. The save device feature is inconsistent to such a point that I don’t bother requesting to save. It never worked. Secondly, a new error has arisen where when opening the app after a time out, it will immediately prompt, “Something went wrong while attempting to send the last request. Please try again”. This is recurring to the point where I can no longer access the account. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled only to get the same issue. Please thoroughly use the app prior to giving this the 5 stars it does not truly deserve.

I only use the full website now
I’ve use the app for many many years, but with the recent updates many of the features I appreciated and relied on the banking app for have been taken away. Not to mention it seems like they’re updating it every 2 to 3 months and it’s just really hard to keep track of where the items I look at normally are. So now I just go to the full website through my MobilePhone. It’s an inconvenience but the information I look for is readily available now so long for using the mobile app. UPDATE; I received a developer response asking me to download the application again, as there was an update. The feature I complained about isn’t fixed. Thanks for wasting more of my time. I’ll continue using the full website oh well.

iPhone app no longer accessible for screen reader
I’ve been with this credit union for many many years and as my vision has gotten worse I have become dependent on a screen reader. Unfortunately, they keep changing the app and updating it and I am always having trouble accessing items when I’m trying to pay a bill. I have a learn some tricks to get around it and get it done although it is in efficient. However, most recently, I cannot choose a date for my bill to be sent out on. It says to select a date but there is no calendar that the screen reader can see. I am getting tired of this and I’m going to have to find another bank that is more responsive to blind people. Unfortunately, the writers of this app are not despite many attempts for me to try to get them to understand.

New overhaul 2023 crashes A Lot!
Updated review: This app had a significant update in early 2023. Largest two problems are: #1: it crashes A Lot (at least 1 crash per use, sometimes 2 or 3.) #2: it is notably slower than the prior version (an issue that likely only affects older phones). Also now you cannot see your running balance under the history of each transaction, which was there before and I think is very valuable to see; they should put it back or at least allow it via settings. I added +1 Star to my original review bcuz the developer responded and asked for more detail (a nice surprise) (My device: iPhone 6s on iOS 15.7.5)

Maddening
Sometimes all I want to do is simply login to view my account information. This app frequently stalls on the “Retrieving account information” screen before timing out. Other times, a simple effort to open the app seems like a chore as it sits on that blank screen for an eternity before I get frustrated enough to manually close the app and try again. If I’m lucky, my third or fourth effort will result in actually accessing my account. I’ve twice deleted the app and re-downloaded it because it doesn’t change the fact that I want to view my accounts. I give it two stars because when it works, it’s fine. However, this app makes me miss my old credit union, the one with the accessible app and ease of accessing my bank account.

Great app update
I complained bitterly when the updated 1st Tech app no longer worked to make deposits. It was also on the clunky side. It took 1st Tech about 18 months to create this new app and I give them kudos as it is excellent. They did send me a couple messages that they were working on a fix for deposits though I wasn’t sure I believed them as time dragged on. I am happy to be wrong as their new app is easy to use and has more features. I thank them for listening to the complaints and doing something about it.

Great app for transacting; not good to scroll through transactions
Great tool to do almost anything you need to with your accounts. The only downside is when you open an account it only shows A few transactions. You have to constantly tap “load more transactions” to scroll back to old ones. Then if you look at one it goes back to the top and starts over. No reason for this. I find the whole thing annoying, hence not five stars. I usually use other apps to view transactions now but use this app for anytime I need to do an actual action.

An Amazing Banking Experience
When I originally opened the account, I was with CH2M FCU who merged with Addison Avenue. When Addison Avenue merged with First Tech, I was a little concerned. However after being with the 3 federal credit unions for a period of over 17 years and through the transitions, I have never had a better banking experience. The customer service agents are courteous, banking is very simple without having to go to brick-and-mortar locations and I have never incurred any fees that I was not made fully aware of. I highly recommend First Tech FCU for your bank needs.

iPad version not the same as iPhone version
While the credit union is great, their app for on line banking with the iPad needs work. For example, the screen will not rotate to landscape; it lacks menu options like Zelle, which are available on the iPhone version; and the message center display is almost unusable. When frustration mounts, you should know about a link hidden at the bottom of the home page to go to the full web version. Best to know this, as you will need it eventually. This app doesn't do justice to the quality of First Tech's services, so I hope they put more resources on fixing it.

Where is Zelle???
The option to use Zelle is missing from the Money Movement menu. Zelle is the only reason I have the app, and I need it tonight! I’d ask Customer Service, but the mobile site is buggy and keeps logging me out… I love banking with First Tech, but having Zelle accessible only on this app is terrible. Broken customer service links are even worse. Thanks! UPDATE: Thanks to developer for your response, apologies for my delay. The “Contact the Developer” link Apple sent went to a broken First tech web page, so I’m responding here. The menu options under Money Movement in my app, even after removing and reinstalling, are still only Transfer and Bill Pay. Please advise, thanks!

Password Very Difficult
I entered the minimum required password but it wouldn’t accept it and wouldn’t tell me why. No help from support, either. And this minimum required password would still have been much too difficult to enter from a cellphone keyboard. When I couldn’t get help from support, I uninstalled the program. The suggestion I got was to set it up on the desktop. That’s what I did. Or tried to do. I use KeePass which generates a really long and complex password so I tried to change it to a simpler one I could enter on the iPhone, the simplest that still matched your requirements. Besides the fact that I couldn’t get it to accept it, its useless anyway because it’s too hard to enter even your simplest allowed password on the iPhone. I’ll keep it uninstalled.

Current balance vs. available balance
PLEASE bring back “current balance” in this app. Originally I could see it right there on the quick view. Then the recent update took that away and by pure chance I found it buried by tapping “show details” of the particular account I’m looking at. Now when I tap “show details” I’m only seeing the “available balance” minus pending charges. When I reconcile my account with my budget app, I need to know the current balance, including the pending charges, preferably without having to manually add the pending charges back in. This should be available SOMEWHERE in this app. Please put it back where it’s readily visible. Thank you.

No way to suggest improvements
Firstly, there’s no option in the app the provide feedback directly to the developer. What I wanted to suggest is, with every other banking institution I’ve ever used, you’ve always been able to see your card information like a virtual card(and the ability to quickly copy your card number to clipboard). This is not possible with this app. It seems small but it’s so much more convenient. It’s small things like this that separate a good banking app and a so-so app. Otherwise this is a fairly good app.

Great Banking
Everything I could want. Safe. Secure. Convenient. Reliable. And, great customer service if there ever is a problem. I have need a customer for about 10 years and First Tech has always been great. This app is no exception. The only complaint I have ever had is that there is no longer a main branch building near me. But through the app, online resources and ATMs, I am always confident in my banking. I love all of these the features contained in this app. Everything is on the go and accessible but in a secure way.

Horrible
This is hands down the worst credit union you could ever imagine using. If you want little support and people who don’t take responsibility when they mess up, you’ve found the right place. Their fraud prevention is a joke, literally every 76 station in souther California is off limits but they’ll allow me to be charged for months by scammers In foreign markets who make 5-6 dollar purchases and it only Stopped because I found it not their “team” but I get questioned by gas at a station I frequent. I couldn’t get gas to go to work again today because they botched something and now I’m on a 20-30 minute hold just to see if I can get my card activated long enough so I can fill up and go to work. Don’t trust these people with anything.

I don't understand how they can get away with us
For over a day now, the app has been broken. Not just slow, or difficult, but literally broken. No messages sent to us who use the banking system to let us know that it's broken. Zero communication. When I called the main banking line, the person who answered basically shrugged their shoulders and said, yeah they often forget to send things out. So essentially I've been locked out of my own bank account for a day now - 24-hour downtime seems like a lot to me. Look, this is a nice little credit union if you belong to MICROSOFT. My strong advice you is don't sign up for this financial institution if you are used to strong technology.

Good but one flaw
I like the ease to use the app. However I travel often on a ship for extended periods of time. I do not have access to phone or a way to receive emails through another computer and WiFi user except the one on the ship. I can use my computer but without the acceptance of the ships WiFi, First Tech will not let me into my account. I do not go on the same ship every time. Wish I could set it up before I leave since I am gone for months at a time and pay my bills on line. I am sure I am not the only one in this situation.

Easy to use!
The app is very easy to use and does everything I need it to. We don't live very close to a physical branch and I can take care of nearly all my banking needs with my phone (mobile check deposits, transfers, balance checks, etc.) minus actually withdrawing money... duh. Occasionally the app goes down (normally in the middle of the night when it's not needed) for updates but I'd rather my stuff be secure and deal with a little shut down time. Great app and happy First Tech member here!

Beyond Satisfied
I have been with First Tech since 1998 and as the years have moved forward and advanced with technology, So has First Tech. They have remained in the cutting forefront edge of LIFE. Whether on line, or in person, I have been greeted by a staff that operates with professionalism and respect of those they interact with. It does what you need it to do
The app has most of the features you need and expect. It is a bit glitchy though. Sometimes I log in and have to reload because it comes up blank. Also, I am using iPhone 13 Pro Max, and the app shows an annoying black line at the top. It doesn't affect functionality, but it would be great if the UI got some love too. The CU is called First Tech after all, it should definitely feel more modern. Same with other services provided.

I am getting anxiety. I can’t get signed in tried to much. I have had the password for sometime. Haven’t had trouble before. I have an older flip phone. Don’t need an app. I have a desk top computer, and an I-pad .I only go on line at home to see my check register. I don’t care to drive into Eugene any more. I may have to bank in junction city. I all ready have a personal acc. In there. I was fine with the way my account was. Helen

Love the app on iPhone X after most recent update
Before you couldn’t use Touch/face ID or scroll through your transactions on the iPhone X. They have since fixed this issue. To get Face ID working, you need to select “enable quick login”, create a pin, then allow Touch ID for faster login. If you miss the second part (after you’ve set up the quick login pin) you can sign out and sign back in, then click the fingerprint icon to enable Touch ID.

Sooooo sloooooow
This is the only financial app that takes MANY days to process payments. I have to transferred funds from another bank to pay my credit card payment, which is not very streamlined. It takes almost a week to make each payment, and has caused me a lot of overdraft fees because the delay in posting gives me inaccurate balances on my main bank’s side😕 Side note: I’ve been banking with First Tech for over 19 years, and I used to think I was weird for loving my bank so much. But, times have changed and it’s a different CU now💔Customer Service is still really great but as a whole this feels like just another bank now.

Reset Password..... Again?
Everyday, I DREAD having to sign into my account. It says it’s been a while and I have to reset my password. Is once or twice a day not enough? I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app. Yes, I’ve shut off my device! I’ve told their support people. But I’m beginning think 1st Tech LIKES not helping (they’ve lost multiple branches in Eugene/Springfield). The reason why is because they do not have to answer questions about why checks in the night drop weren’t deposited right away or why my overdraft didn't stop a check from bouncing.... This is the fifth or sixth time in the last 12 months and I can’t run away fast enough! FIRST TECHNOLOGY CREDIT UNION IS A SINKING SHIP.... I SUGGEST EVERYONE JUMP OFF WHILE YOU STILL HAVE A DIME LEFT TO YOUR NAME!!

Good app, needs minor improvement
The app is responsive and easy to use. You can set up transfers, bill pay, and deposit your checks. The only thing that’s unfortunate is how joint accounts are handled. For example, if I set up a transfer from our joint account under my login, my husband cannot see it when he logs in. This is obviously problematic because it can lead to overdrafts if you’re not careful... just a thought for the developer out there looking for improvement suggestions. Good but broken in iOS 15?
Keep getting this error on launch so I can’t do anything: “Something went wrong while attempting to send the last request. Please try again.” Edit: Never mind I think they are just updating the banking stuff during maintenance. If that’s the case though it would be cool if that error was slightly more informative/helpful. Great app otherwise! :)

Mostly functional, sometimes buggy.
App works fine most of the time for checking balance, transferring between accounts, etc. I find that depositing checks is often buggy - usually works for one check but any attempt to deposit another check will result in the deposit page repeatedly refreshing rather than processing the deposit. (This happens even if cumulative checks do not exceed daily deposit limit.) No amount of restarting the app or your phone seems to allow another deposit to be made.

I can finally deposit quickly
I deposit a lot of checks via mobile and the old version never recognized the back of the checks...kept saying “flip check” and after about twelve seconds of wiggling my camera around to make it happy it would finally launch into manual capture mode. I was pleasantly surprised tonight after downloading this newest version. It worked instantly! Hooray. However..two stars because this app is so glitchy and unreliable. I never know when it’s going to allow me to do my banking. Sometimes the logo just stares at me and the app simply does NOTHING. Won’t respond.

Smooth operation
There’s a lot to like about this app. It handles biometric login. It shows all the accounts and you can smoothly transfer money between them in a quick and easy fashion. One feature I’d really like is to be able to create new accounts and create a name for each account. Also it’s difficult to set up auto payments with external banks. It can be done but when you create a new HELOC or a new credit card there’s a little bit of time it takes to get it

Cannot complete captcha
While traveling abroad, the app pops a captcha upon launch. This is new behavior, the app used to work while out of the US just a few weeks ago. The website started doing the same thing at the same time. The developer responses seem to suggest that people are downloading a fake app or that there should be no captcha, but no: this is the official app and there is a captcha for international users, and the app reloads the page every few seconds so you can’t complete the captcha, so the app doesn’t load at all. I use Zelle to pay for stuff in the US even while abroad and Zelle can only be used from within the app (why?), so while traveling, Zelle is now unavailable to me. This app, as far as I can tell, is a clunky Web app embedded in an iOS app, which is a terrible way to make apps (cheap, because you only need to make it once for all devices, but terrible as a result). Please fix it, other financials apps don’t have this problem.

An app that actually works as it should!
This app is awesome. Every feature works perfectly. Depositing checks is a breeze! My *only* suggestion where is regarding looking at your history in each account: it would be great if when you select one of the transactions to look at it, and then go back, it came back to where you were (instead of starting again at the top of the list)

For a Credit Union named “First Tech”...
I am in the middle of switching Credit Unions AWAY from First Tech, which I have had since my early teens, essentially because their name is so ironic... their site, and especially their app, are awful. Sometimes I can log in with the app, but only when I don’t actually need to; whenever it’s the most inconvenient for it to not work, that’s when it fails on me. You need to be able to rely on your bank or credit union, and that’s why I’m leaving. I’m beginning to think “First Technology Credit Union” is named as such because the technology they use is the first of its kind and has never been updated past its initial version.

Mobile banking system plagued by downtime and crashes
In the era of cloud computing and continuous deployments, it boggles me that the First Tech app has nearly weekly downtimes for “system maintenance”. What kind of legacy system are they running?? First Tech seems to have ironically fallen behind the curve as far as modern systems architecture is concerned. App crashes regularly, critical features stop working during important times (ie Bill Pay is down on the first of the month). This is besides the fact that their app interface is a good 6 years or so behind conventions for iOS. Makes me wonder what kind of ragtag software development/ops team is keeping their mobile banking system propped up.
