Smartwatches newbie
I’m a bit old school, don’t really like the tech these days. Resistant, you could say. But I, like most, am leashed to my cell phone. With a family, and career. I need to be connected. I wanted a watch with hands and minutes and numbers like the old days. While shopping the fossil site. This watch caught my attention. Simply with classic style and primitive low key posture. Then as I read further I saw it was a smart watch! DANG, I thought.. I just wanted a plain classic watch. Well after getting it because of its beauty. I went ahead and paired it to my phone. WOW! I love it! It’s given me freedom I forgot we had. And the ‘Ring my phone” feature is BRILLIANT!!! For a busy guy like me, it’s been a fantastic distraction! I’ll never get stuck in an unwanted conversation again! “Oh, excuse me, I gotta take this call!” We’ll catch up later! Steve out!

The app is better now, but not really great
Now that they’ve fixed the bugs that kept my watch from syncing, it works like it is supposed to. Everything they intend the app to do, it does, and it does well. However, I want to be able to compare the graphs for each day to each other on a single screen. Currently, you can only see each day’s graph individually. I want to be able to dive into the data for each day and see what’s up hour by hour, at a minimum. There is so much they could do with this app and watch combination. The potential is there, their execs and designers just don’t seem to have the vision to make this app spectacular and really useful. I used to wear a Misfit, and they had a pretty great app. I feel like this app is sort of a downgrade. But I love the watch itself. I’ve been wearing it for several years, and it’s great. (and I wear one of the hybrids (the Activist- specifically because of battery life, and it looks like a regular watch) I HOPE that they continue making the older style hybrids without the digital screens. They are so great. Y’all should try them out. Can you imagine six months of battery life‽!!‽ Sure, no heart rate monitoring, but do you really need that?

Love it! But needs work
Im in love with this watch. Im an optician and recently we made a huge purshase of fossil frames and as a gift they gave me a fossil q hybrid watch... i have it for a week now and im in love. But! There are some features i miss and love to have to make it whole, things that i think are easy to add. As an optician i use the timer on my phone a LOT! so it would be nice to have that feature in my watch also, so with a button i can start the countdown... also... a snooze feature for the alarms, cause sometimes i put an alarm to remind me to call a patient for example but at the moment the alarm goes off im busy i could postpone it... the ability to put name to the customize goals and maybe the ability to track every single goal by its own... that one could be more difficult but ypu get the gist of it. I really think that what u guys are doing is super cool but a couple more things would make it awesome... i hope you sometime take at least one of my ideas

Loved the watch when it worked.
I got the fossil Garrett hybrid as a Christmas gift! I’m a watch fanatic, as a first time user of a hybrid or smart watch of any kind I thought this was awesome! It held the “old” timeless look of the watch while having the moderen day functions of a smart watch. It worked for a month and I would get on the app a couple times a day and track my steps then in the morning track my sleep schedule. Then about a week ago the watch wouldn’t sync to the app, however I was still getting vibrations from notifications I have programed into the watch. The watch was still connected via Bluetooth to my phone but refused to sync with the app and after countless times talking to people on customer support they didn’t have a clue and would throw me around to “higher up professionals” to help with the issue, and still nothing but after some research come to find out that many people have/had this issue as far back as 2 years ago. Therefore this is an on going issue that has not been addressed. And I’m highly disappointed with fossil.

Problems with the app
Every few weeks, the app refuses to sync data with my watch and suddenly drops it. The notifications still work, so it often takes me a while to notice. At that point a month of data is missing, which is the whole reason I was interested in this watch. Thankfully, each time this has happened I have eventually been able to get the watch to sync again and restore the missing stats by essentially playing with it for a half hour—turning my phone on and off, turning Bluetooth on and off, removing it from my Bluetooth menu so that the app prompts me to add it again, etc. However, this has been very frustrating. The app has also permanently shown a low battery sign after the first time I replaced it, which means it gives me no indication of the actual battery life and I have to guess at when that really needs to be changed. This watch would be a much better purchase if the app were more cooperative. It doesn’t seem to be very well integrated.

New version is fine but…
I’ve had my fossil watch for a few years now and I absolutely love it! The ability to ring my phone and use a stopwatch are invaluable! Prior to the update a week ago, I was able to have my watch vibrate/have the hands point to a specific number if I received a text message or a phone call. It still vibrates/points when specific contacts call or text me, but after the update, the phone calls and text message notifications are gone. This is frustrating, considering that I depend on the watch to alert me if someone is calling and I’m not in the same room as my phone. I always have my phone on vibrate and prefer not to have the ringer on. PLEASE BRING BACK THIS FEATURE! I would be so grateful! Edit-3/8/23: So I didn’t have to sign in to the fossil app with an email address initially, so my information on the app was only there. Today I open the app, and fossil forces me to make an account. I do that, and the last FIVE years of step tracking, sleep tracking? Gone. Thanks, Fossil.

Tired of my watch - don’t bother.
When I first got this watch years ago, this was great. Then I started noticing last year that the sync was no longer working. I’d load up the app and it would instantly crash or just wouldn’t connect with my phone. They finally updated to its current version and I was able to sync, but now my data is lost from the day before if I don’t sync before midnight. Pretty stupid since I was out walking from evening until 4am, and I lost tens of thousands of steps. That’s fine if your routine allows, but if I’m on a night shift, I won’t have time to interrupt work just to sit and wait for my watch to sync. If I’m on vacation, I’m not going to whip out my phone at the club just to catch the last few moments that I can keep my steps. I love my hybrid watch since it was a gift from a loved one, but this has been a terrible experience in the past few years. As mentioned if you’re cool with the idea of your data getting wiped from your watch before you can sync, then fine. The app can keep one star. But I’m over it and plan to move on.

First time Fossil Smartwatch User
I’ve wanted to get into smart watches in the last year but have not had chance to buy (plus they are expensive still, for me). I decided to give Fossil Hybrid Watch a try - as an introductions to smart watches. So far - I love it! Its simple and provides me with the information I need to stay notified. The app itself is simple, aesthetically pleasing, and intuitive. The only improvement I would add the watch is to include more options for notifications on the Hybrid watch. For ex: I am not allowed to adjust my watch to notify me whenever I receive an iMessage. I can adjust it to notify when a specific person on my contacts writes to me, but no general messages (however, I am allowed to include all messages from Whatsapp so it is a slight gripe). Anyway, I would recommend a Fossil smartwatch to anyone seeking a clean looking watch with minimal features (or anyone looking to breakaway from the Samsung/Apple)

The best but ...
You are the best ones i have Fossil hybrid hr And everything is in the best quality but with the last update you make the way to use the back button on music control so hard !!!!! I THINK its better to use up button for increasing volume and hold for back music and the bottom for lower volume and hold for next music and the middle one tap for home button and hold for the pause and resume maybe its not the best idea but it's absolutely easier than right now that we should first hold the pause button and then bottom one and it has a small bug that when you do that the music start and then pause so you have to press play button BUT YOU ARE THE BEST ALWAYS WITH YOUR AWESOME IDEAS DONT STOP GIVING UPDATES PLEASE ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

App update removes the reasons i bought the watch
EDIT: The previous issue I had was resolved, i still believe the app is not as intuitive as it should be. A new issue has come up that I can’t assign notifications from specific contacts. Apps work just fine, but every time i try to assign a specific person, it won’t take it. The app has shown that it’s buggy at best, and I wish I could say better things about it The previous version of the app has the ability to customize the button functions, set alarms, and assign contacts for notifications. These are literally the reasons I bought this watch. With the new update, these features are lost. My previously set alarms, notifications, and buttons are still active on the watch but I cannot change them. If I had not already set these, this watch would be nothing more than a glorified fit bit. Fossil, please fix the app and include the features that were removed.

Most recent update removed key features
As far as I can tell the only positive of the latest update is the organization of the watch faces. The buttons now remain the same regardless of which face you select (which is infuriating as I previously had buttons and faces/information on them matched up and now must manually change both every time I alternate which I do 3 times daily). The commuter button, which I used multiple times a day is completely gone. And on a personal note, multiple inquiries about the changes have gone unanswered. I have warned all of my friends with fossil hybrid watches to avoid this update if at all possible and let them mess with my updated app to see if they even WANT the update. All have agreed that they should try to avoid it. I am currently searching for a method to remove the update and restore my once excellent watch. If you are used to the features of the app, avoid the 5.0 update.

Good Concept, Could be executed better
The whole point of the hybrid watch is that it has some “smart” functionalities that can be set and tracked with the app. I would like to see a wider variety of smart functions. It also tends to be quite buggy. I love the music control option, but I often find my phone randomly starts playing music, and since the last update the music control doesn’t work at all. It also seems that the step and sleep tracking is pretty inaccurate. I was really hoping the hybrid watch and app would work well, but there’s still a few things that need to be worked out. EDIT: Apprciate the developer response and fix to the bugs, the music function works again. Still would love additional functionalities, but I’m happy that the app gets updated to make sure things are working.

Only one suggestion
The if this app could make it so this watch could display your next turn and the street name on navigation it would be fantastic. A simple arrow at the top of the screen pointing left, right, straight, or U-turn would be great. The street name could go right at the bottom. That would be fantastic. To make it perfect showing a distance counter that updates every 15 second would also be fantastic. It could display the new distance every minute if several miles remain, and update quicker as the next turn occurs. Other than that some more customization of the circles in some watch faces would be nice. Orbit for example cannot be changed at all.

App no longer works
I originally got the watch knowing I’d have limited features on iOS. It worked for a while with the WearOS app. They had me switch to this Fossil App a few months ago and I thought it was a good move with hopes of extra features, but it ended up killing the battery faster than WearOS. A few other reviews mention notification settings resetting and I bc an confirm I’m dealing with that too. Now the last few weeks the app is completely disconnected from the watch and will no longer load. My watch is still connected via Bluetooth so I get notifications but I have no way to adjust the notification settings like before. The app won’t even load their ads, it’s just endless loading with no images. The watch isn’t even a year old yet and I definitely won’t consider buying another when this thing is inevitably unusable in a few months based on the drastic decline it’s gone through

Not as simple as promised
I bought the fossil hybrid HR with the hopes of being notified of my emails phone calls and text messages. I have an iPhone 7 Plus, yes it’s a little bit behind, but I like my phone. I cannot figure out why my regular iPhone text messages are not being received on my watch. When I try to customize my notifications the option of my text messages from my iPhone is not there. I’m very busy during the day I need the ability to see if my text messages are important or not important as I am a working mom who needs to know if there’s an emergency that I have to attend to. All the other bells and whistle‘s are nice but not what I bought the watch for.

Love it!
I had no idea about these hybrids but I’m so glad I wandered into the Fossil store last week. I have a Garmin that I’ve worn for years but it’s bulky and I no longer need all that capability. I wanted something small yet smart but Fitbits are too wide for my narrow wrist. This watch is so stylish, plus it tracks my steps, which is what I wanted. Another of my favorite features is that the watch allows you to create alerts for up to 12 contacts who call or text. This is done via a Bluetooth connection to your cell. So, for example, if the watch vibrates and the hands go to 1:00, I know it’s my oldest son. Who knew a cute watch could be smart like that?! I’m like a kid in a candy store with this. Definitely recommend!

Love my watch, but needs a lot of work
My fossil hybrid HR watch is gorgeous and I love that I get some smart watch utility with a normal-looking timepiece. However, it’s wild to me that I can’t get notifications from the Apple iOS reminders app. It’s not a supported app. Additionally, I can’t get my text messages delivered to my watch unless my settings allow the full message to display on my phone screen when it’s locked (I just want to know that XYZ person texted me, I don’t want anyone who picks up my phone to be able to read the messages I have received.) it’s fine that I can’t read the full message on my phone if the setting is not to display on my phone, but to be unable to get any notification at all unless the message previews are turned on for my phone is ridiculous. This lack of utility without compromising security is a real problem and if I’d known the app/system would struggle so much, I’m not sure i would have paid the >$200 for this watch.

Worth it
I’ve had a Apple Watch. That watch was fragile compared to this. This watch withstand daily use of activity. Knock on wood haven’t cracked the glass yet. I enjoy the functionality of both. Old school yet modern at a moment noticed. Before they changed the app there was a challenge for how many steps taking in a given period. I’m sad they took it out. The battery life last giver take a week and 2 days… not like the apple…. I’m also thankful that it works for apple, cuz if it didn’t I wouldn’t be making this review about this hybrid watch. Thank you fossil for doing all you can to make your customers happy.

Much, MUCH Better. Still problems.
I down graded the rating from 5 stars to 4. After I wrote my review, the watch/app started having a mind of its own. It is not tracking my sleep correctly at all. The main function I care about tracking. It is still fine, and I try to check it every day, but frustrating. I have had this watch over a year. I wanted a smart watch that looked like a regular watch. I wish I had thought about the second hand, though. (The first app was horrible, this started at about a 2.5 stars, but now I do highly recommend it! The new feature of being able to track your own goal is handy (if you want to use it). But I use it to track my sleep as it is irregular. So, yes...worth it!

Perfect
The Charter hybrid watch is exactly what I’ve wanted since smart watches became a thing. I don’t want a phone on my wrist, but I do want the ability to see if a notification warrants my full attention or if it’s just something that can wait until I have a moment. I’m a mom of 3 and have a small business that depends on social media interaction, so I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with watching every buzz in case it’s a potential client. Now, I know if it’s just my last text convo replying “ok” or whatever. The app has been smooth, my phone doesn’t seem any slower or down battery. I dunno what exactly the app should do, but I haven’t run into problems.

Amazing App
Love this app! I mostly love the connectivity to my hybrid watch. The hybrid watch by itself is stellar but combined with the app it’s mint! Especially when it comes to customizing. My watch is mostly low key, its a hybrid watch meaning it’s gots the working of a smart watch but looks like a traditional watch. It’s durable while styled with a modern look to it. Can be worn on date night, for business, or workouts. I hope this reviews helps. This is my first hybrid watch. Im sure Fossils full touch screen watch’s are just as beautiful as this one if not more. I can’t wait to see what else is coming from them.

Do not disturb!!!!!
I love the new update of this app. It looks much more modern and has a lot more features that I like. However, the old version of the app would automatically set notifications to "do not disturb" when I turned on "do not disturb" for my phone. Now I have to manually go into the app and turn it off and on. I do NOT want my watch to vibrate while I'm trying to sleep!!!!!!! And I never remember to turn notifications back on in the morning in the app, because who the hell would think to do that, which results in me missing important phone calls and texts. Please get rid of this stupid "feature" or at least make it possible to disable the separate "do not disturb" option so it will sync with phone settings like it used to.

Customer service
Fossil used to have an amazing customer service team that would help you with written responses and personable people. They’ve recently replaced their customer service with a ton of automatic replies and a website that doesn’t even offer a chance to talk to someone. I was under warranty when my watch broke (second time in a year) and they tried to charge me for it. I had to contact them four times until I got a real response and even then after I tried to initiate a conversation they stopped responding. I had to wait for months until they sent me an automated email saying that the repair fees were waived and that my watch will be sent back. If you want a watch that won’t break and good customer service choose any other brand.

Love My Fossil!
The hybrid smartwatch and fossil app are a perfect fit for anyone who wants to stay conscientious of their activity level without announcing to everyone that you’re wearing a fitness tracker! It pairs easily with my iphone. The alarms are wonderful for waking gently or reminders during the day. I love also that the bands are easily changeable. I have several different colors to match whatever I’m wearing. Also, I have some of the buttons programmed to control the music or podcasts on my phone which is very convenient! I’m very pleased with this. I’ve had it for a year or so and owned a fitbit and a jawbone previously. If you’re on the fence, give it a try!

Great Start
After over a year of use, I am happy with all the improvements that have come out! The next major feature I would love is better integration with Apple health (exporting runs and other workouts) and integration with other apps like Strava. I’m loving my new hybrid watch. However, I think there are some features that could improve the watch experience. One thing I would like to see is Siri Shortcuts integration for stuff like switching watch faces. Saying something like ‘I’m gonna workout’ to Siri would switch to my workout watch face with health stats and access to my workout and music controls via the buttons. I’m excited to see the changes that are in the pipeline.

Amazing
I love this watch and wear it every day (I have a hybrid from fossil). It has useful tools and the battery lasts a long time. It looks elegant while also being practical. The app itself is everything it needs to be. It gives the ability to change what the buttons do and gives detailed information on any health stats. Having the hybrid version of a fossil, the all is necessary to see any stats measured by the watch. The only complaint I have is it sometimes takes a while to pair the watch, but that’s bound to happen with any wireless connection.

Loving this watch!
So far I am loving this watch. Wanted a watch that looked like a watch (not a mini phone) and acted like a watch (not a mini phone) but that had the functionality of a smart watch...just the few things I needed. I don’t need another phone! It alerts me when I’ve received a text message or have a phone call from the people I’ve selected, so I don’t feel the need to be always attached to my phone and can discreetly attend to them and it tracks fitness and sleep. App has been easy to use and I’ve gotten lots of compliments on how it looks...bc it just looks like an attractive watch!

Bad App Update
The new app update is bad. PLEASE let us go back to the old version. It took me about 30 minutes to figure out how to set an alarm because of how non-intuitive the app is, and once I did, the alarm never even went off. I’ve since tried it about 10 times and it has failed to go off every time due to some kind of connectivity issue (the watch keeps disconnecting from the app which never, ever happened with the previous version). The watch is close to useless to me without a functional and reliable alarm. The home page of the app is now also littered with ads, which is ridiculous. It looks like they also took away a lot of the watch’s old functionality with this clunky new version of the app. I do like the new “home” screen on the watch, though.

Good watch but unusable app
I have a hybrid smartwatch HR for a few month now. The watch works great and provides all functions that I just need including notifications, activity tracking, find my phone, and long battery life. But recently the app stopped working. It is always stuck on about 90% syncing progress for a few minutes and crashes. I noticed longer syncing time a while ago but it could still get through to finish the sync. Now it cannot any more. The notifications still work but I can’t change the settings now, because while syncing, the app loses response on UI. I think the sync function has at least two problems. First, the sync actually has almost done at 90% because I can see the data like steps has been updated on the UI. I don’t know why it crashes and cannot just finish there. The second problem is that the sync operation should be implemented in the background, but not freeze the UI. I don’t care too much about the sync but sometimes I want to change settings. Now because the sync cannot be finished, nothing in the app works anymore. I hope the app can be updated to resolve these issues.

Revolutionary system, one suggestion.
First off, this watch is amazing. I have the collider hr, and I can’t get over the design. It isn’t ugly like those Apple Watches, but it’s functional while still looking stylish. The interface on both the watch and app are amazing, but I was wondering if it could be possible to add a system where your watch constantly vibrates to wake you up. It’s hard to ignore, and directly on your body. Sorry for the review being short, if you are looking for a smartwatch of any type, I would recommend getting a fossil watch. ⏱️

The updates killed the app
I’ve had a fossil hybrid watch for about a year and a half now, and loved it. I enjoyed the layout, how I could customize the button presses, and how intuitive the scrolling was. Yesterday I received a notification about how I should update the app, so I did thinking nothing of it. After that update, I have lost the ability to customize the middle button of my watch and it is stuck bound to settings on both push and press, the minimum font size has been forcibly increased, and the functions like music and timer now are forced to use the bottom button on the watch rather than the central one. All of these make the customizability and ease of use of the watch much worse, and it went from feeling like my own watch to borrowing someone else’s.

Garbage
I have 4 Fossil smartwatches between the Q Hybrid and WearOS lines. This app has gotten LESS consistent over time, glitches out and loses steps every other day, freezes when syncing constantly (to the point that if I synced 30 seconds ago, leave to reply to a text, come back and try to review yesterdays data it blanks it all out and freezes trying to sync again — half the time requiring an app restart to fix which may result in losing all the data since yesterday’s sync). Incredibly frustrating. I used to get compliments on the watch and gush about how useful and good it was. You’ve converted me into a detractor, I’ll tell people not to waste their money and get a fitbit straight from Google. Thanks for the only experience so bad I actively thought about throwing my phone into a wall.

Smart watch HR
Honestly I love this brand with its simple yet sophisticated design the multiple band options, the craftsmen-ship is also very sturdy and well built, I also like the features like the heart rate music control and sleep tracking I just wished the step counter wasn’t so sensitive any movement you make it marks a few steps making it a bit unreliable and I imagine that always goes for the calories counter , other wise good watch hope the company and make it a little better in that regard

About ready to give up on this watch completely
I have a Gen6, bought it about 18 months ago. At first I liked that I could use most features with ease. Since I pretty now have to use this app to work the watch I’m about to put it in the drawer. this app is very limited. basically makes it to where if I don’t download it, most of the features won’t work. notifications feature resets multiple times a day. Not to mention that every time I take it off the charger they are reset. I want to limit the notifications so it’s not such a drain on the battery. I tried to submit this review twice directly from the app. Seems like a strange coincidence that since my review is negative the review will not submit.

Looks great… functions marginally
I love the look of a great analog watch and the battery life beats any Apple products hands down, but it would be nice if it delivered on all that it claimed. The app is buggy at the best of times. I open it wait 2 minutes for a sync that never happens and then it just closes. Message boards suggest that I turn the watch off and back on, or turn off Bluetooth and back on again, etc. I should not have to go through these measures in order to get one app to work. Once it works it’s good for about a week and then more of the same nonsense. And this is after of course after making sure I am running all updated versions.

1 Star simply for the last watch update...
A few days ago I open the app and nothing looks different about it. Then my watch buzzed and the app tells me not to close the app while the watch is updating. That’s normal, it does the same every month or so. But this time when it updated, notifications have not come through on the watch! I expected them to notice the problem and release another update to fix it, but nothing! Maybe it’s only my watch... notifications are like the main thing that makes this hybrid watch a smart watch! It’s still linked to my phone because my steps, heart rate, calories, and sleep all show up on the app and the time is correct. Not sure what’s going on, but since that update I’ve been disappointed! (Maybe I should’ve closed the app while it was updating...😂)

Fails to sync after a time
Since my previous review was deleted, here it is again…I have the Retro Pilot, I received it as a Christmas present (2021) and the app would sync for the first month. Then it stopped. The app provides a litany of remideations that did not work. What did work was to remove the watch from the app and then add it back again. This wipes out all your data held in the watch, so you lose everything from the point after the last sync onwards. I’ve had to do this multiple times even after going through the litany of Fossil’s recommendations, including changing the battery. The app reports the watch is connected and I can trigger the alarm on my phone with the watch and I am able to locate the watch with the app. Fix the sync issue!

Not happy at all!!
I have had my hybrid since last year, and up until the latest app update, I have nothing but rave reviews. But, since the update, I have had nothing but problems. #1- I lost a whole week of data after the app update. #2- I got my battery replaced at the Fossil store & had to reinstall the app. After reinstallation, ALL of my information is gone. #3- Just to add insult to injury, the app is still sending me messages that my battery is dead 13 hours after I had it replaced!!! This is unsatisfactory and will not be using any more Fossil products. I have supported you guys for many years, but you just dealt me a huge loss, asI was using my information for a yearly fitness challenge with my company. Almost a whole year down the drain......😤

Update 5.0.1 is frustrating.
I’d give the watch itself 5 stars. But the app is a 1 star. I’ve had watch for more than a year. I wear it everyday. I’ve recommended it to other people. I like the fact it still looks like a classy watch, but also tracks my fitness and health data. The old app worked perfectly. Very easy to use. However, the new app is very glitchy. Data is constantly disappearing. If I don’t sync everyday, it shows zero data from day before. But even after syncing…. It will sometimes zero out steps or calories or sleep data. Once data disappears, it is gone forever. Impossible to keep ongoing averages. All the ads are annoying in the app, but I could live with those if it just worked properly.

Left Apple and haven’t looked back.
I had an Apple Watch but didn’t like some features and wanted something less connected to my phone. At first I thought having an Apple Watch would meals me less dependent on my phone but I found it extremely intrusive. I gave it away. Then, I tied the Fossil and I LOVE it! I can chose to get notifications or not. I can set alarms and notifications and it tracks my sleep which I love but the best part is I NEVER HAVE TO TAKE IT OFF TO CHARGE IT every night (or every other night). I go FOUR MONTHS or more on a battery. This is the best!

Very disappointed
I’ve had a fossil Smartwatch for years. I’ve loved it. Been my favorite fossil purchases and I’ve been buying Fossil products since they sold clothes!! I have two watches that look like normal watches without all the fancy stuff, just the vibrations and button options. Ever since the Apple software update (iOS 11) though there is NO REASON to have this watch. Normally, if you get a notification your watch will vibrate. However, now ONLY IF YOU HAVE YOUR NOTIFICATIONS TO “PREVIEW ALWAYS” do you get any vibration on your phone. So if you like any sense of privacy and you don’t want your messages being displayed on your Apple home screen for the world to see then don’t bother with this watch. I used to get a notification buzz with the notification setting of “preview - never” Now Fossil hasn’t fixed it so that you can have privacy on your messages, they want people to be able to see your messages on your home screen apparently. Fix it Fossil, my privacy is important to me and I should have my watch vibrate and let me know if incoming messages and calls WITHOUT having “Preview - Always” on. Don’t bother getting this watch!

Good… when it works
I get about a week out of my watch before I need to go into the settings to forget and re-add my watch. The watch itself is great, but the notifications, tracking data, etc. stops working after about 7-10 days for me and I don’t have any idea until it’s been awhile and I check the app. I was really busy this week, and the app stopped syncing on Tuesday, didn’t find out until Friday. Missed a lot of notifications this week. I’m hoping there is a software update or firmware for the watch to fix it soon.

Lovely watch, Nicely done app
This watch has one main feature that the others don’t have… Oh, it keeps track of heart rate, stepsAnd even sleep. But the main thing this watch has over the others… Is that you can charge it, And not think about it for like two weeks! Such a luxury. And fossil to their credit, is slugging away at the updates… The app is easy to use. The swatch and stuff my for a certain type of person. I’m glad I’m that kind of person!

From great to unusable
I used to love my hybrid smart watch and appreciated the user friendly app. However The latest update hides all of the important settings and features behind a wall of ads. Seriously, some of the features don’t even show up consistently, forcing you to restart the app and hope they will appear on the home page. The biggest flaw is that I can no longer assign contact notifications to the watch face (the app lost all of my preexisting assignments with the update) Pushing the corresponding check box does nothing at all. I can still assign app notifications, but the contacts feature is completely broken, which kind of defeats the purpose of a hybrid smart watch. Please fix!

Love this watch! App is glitching on current update 😔
I love this watch. It is just smart enough to do the things I want it to do like tell me when specific people call or text and otherwise just tell me the time or be a timer for dinner in the oven. The app however needs improvement. It is the only tricky part of having this watch. The current update closes itself when I open the app. So I can’t check any stats. 🤪 So that’s probably the most annoying glitch an app could have. I’d give it a one if this was my only experience with the app, but I’ll give it a 3 star because this update is the first to cause problems like this.

Beautiful watch, but not sure if step tracker is accurate.
Great watch, but I’m still unsure if the step tracker is 100% accurate. When I have mapped my walk in the past with my iPhone it has said the trail I regularly walk is 1.5 miles long. When I walk with my Fossil Q step tracker it says .9 miles long. Big difference. I’ve only been using it for a few days though and I live way out in the country. I’ll taking it to the city park where the prescribed path distances are accurate and compare. If it’s not accurate then I’ll be returning to Fossil before the 30 days is up and updating this review.

Great for a Hybrid!
My girlfriend got me the Fossil Q Commuter for Christmas and it’s so nice! Stylish and it can be worn to the gym. Goal tracking and customization to your liking is very easy to do - the app is very user-friendly! I’m not one for a touch screen smart watch, so this is perfect if you want to look fashionable and comfortable. I’ve never had a watch like this, great first experience! Haven’t noticed anything difficult other than some functions not active when you quit the app. Keep up the good work with updates and tweaks!

Serves its purpose
I love the aesthetic look of this watch. I have the Jacqueline and it’s beautiful. But not the best at keeping track of things. I’ve noticed lately that it isn’t super accurate with my steps anymore. And it’s a bummer it doesn’t track any other kind of activity. The app is good. A little simplistic and kind of annoying to navigate. I wish it was easier to view all of my progress up until now at once. But over all I’m very pleased with my purchase if only because I have a nicer watch option that still tracks steps for days I don’t want to wear my bulky Fitbit. Would recommend if you’re into watch’s and don’t want to wear a Fitbit all the time. But not on its own as a fitness tracker.

Lots of bugs
I have a Q Hybrid Commuter. “Alarms” that I haven’t set (trust me, I’ve double and triple checked and there’s not a reason for alarm or alert) often go off throughout the day. But that’s normal (has happened since I first bought the watch); recently a more annoying bug is that it vibrates when I place an outgoing call, as if that person were calling me. My purpose isn’t to just complain and leave a bad review, I hope Fossil will read this and fix these bugs. I like being able to have a “smart” watch with a traditional face, and the app isn’t bad. But the amount of little bugs is just frustrating, I’m sure Fossil must have the resources to provide a better smart watch experience.

Great Smart watch
This watch has been wonderful. The only thing that would make it better is being able to rig my phone while the app is not open. I don’t like leaving a bunch of apps open on my phone. It’s a force of habit for me to close all apps when I’m not using them. So I am unable to ring my phone while the app is closed which makes useless to me. Otherwise it’s a great smart watch that doesn’t appear to be a smart watch and looks great for my business attire for work. I also enjoy not needing to charge it at least weekly like most smart watches.
