Excellent City Building Game Play Again and Again
I will start by saying this game is always on my ipad and is really a staple amongst go-to games. It is really fun, first you start out by building basic city buildings and getting enough wood and materials to make your city warmer. There are side battles to make it interesting, and is an “idle” game that you can play for a bit, step away to let resources gather, and come back to it. it is very relaxing and not too competitive with other players like many games where you feel like you have to spend money just to keep up. The side events are fun and keep it interesting. My comments to the developers on this outstanding and amazing game are 1) let me buy “no ads” at a flat price versus a subscription (I will never subscribe, I hate that model, but would pay a good amount to get no ads); 2) the side game with the fur factory is super boring and i have played it many times and can never get enough money to even care if i finish it, the best ones are grandpas farm and the seaweed fishing; 3) the daily adventure should have an automatic feature to go through the levels because after playing for almost two years it feels like a chore so i just stopped doing it. Don’t let these three items take away from your fun though this game is top ranked, i don’t have any of the bugs these other people are talking about, and play this game almost every day and love it!

It's fun, but the commercial is misleading and could be better!
I would have given it five stars, but there are two or three things—hell, maybe more—about this game that I absolutely do not like. The advertisement is misleading. I thought I was going to be building my town from the ground up like the survivors in the trailer, but instead I’m moving from town to town, which is very annoying. I hate the idea of starting over every time my main survivors take me to a different location, just to start over. Second, I despise relying on the idiotic eight-hour free card to bring my hero to my town.I have two buildings that I can’t even move forward with because I don’t have the heroes. I wish they would just come with the story like the other survivors do when you upgrade your town's sleeping quarters. I mean, this is ridiculous. I have five excellently upgraded machines, but only one Survivor is working in my building. Why? because the so-called hero has not shown up. My other building has four machines but only one worker. one worker, and it's because the hero hasn't shown up for that one either. Again, this is ridiculous. Who came up with this stupid concept? and I'm definitely not desperate enough to spend money to get them to come to my town either. Also, another misleading thing your commercial shows, which clearly doesn't happen in the game, is that the survivors don't freely talk to each other!

Love it buttttttt
I love this game but I would like to see more of the chatting between characters (the chat pop ups of dialogue) and more life from the survivors while working and waking around such as frustration while working (bubble above the head with anger emoji) or running when late to work, turning blue or slow while cold and holding stomach while hungry (I love when they run to the kitchen/lunchroom) and a tad bit more explaining when going to a new city such as how did we get here, why we left the other town, what our goal is in the new city or something like that to get the player motivated to play in the new city because as I seen in these other reviews people are complaining about starting over but if you don’t want to start over play outlanders on Apple Arcade or something. I love the story line you guys have built but I feel like it’s got plot holes when you transfer to a new city, also where do the hero’s come from? You could add more story there just not too much to bore the average player. Thank you I hope you take my thoughts into consideration

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great game but
This game is so heavily dependent on the heroes I’ve been stuck on city 3 for the past week. I understand it’s an idle game but truth be told there’s nothing fun in returning just to find out you barely have any more items than you did the last time you logged in. The people on the discord server are of no help either and act as if everything is all rainbows and cupcakes, boasting about how they made it without paying, especially because they’ve seen the multiple people who complain about not being able to collect the heroes too. I’ve gone without Sophia in city 3 for so long and it’s getting to the point even foundry 2 has progressed a lot more. It’s so bad and the survivors have paused multiple times because there wasn’t enough resources to continue production. There is currently only one survivor working in the first foundry and I don’t have the patience to wait until every event to get a chest or card, just to find out it isn’t even the card that I need. Don’t bother with the “thank you for feedback and if you have more you can email us” because I will tell you right here. Stop making the game so focused on the heroes because you’re intensely slowing down gameplay for not just me but for multiple other players. I’d rather have more upgrades and longer building times than have to sit and wait for days just to never end up getting the card I need.

Fun but heavily relies on heroes
The game is pretty good and I’ve been playing it for almost a month now, at first things were good since I had heroes to help with the production of my items but soon enough I didn’t have the necessary heroes to push out a sufficient amount of goods to keep my city going. I’m currently on city 7 and I don’t have a hero to make what looks like a generator which results in 7 being made every 33.4 seconds which is absolutely outrageous honestly. All of my upgrades need a generator and the amount being pushed out is just so slow. I’ve already opened 3 gold chests (750 gems) and there have been no new heroes and I’m not going to spend money on this game either. Another issue was the upgrading of heroes since I didn’t have enough cards to upgrade them, I would only have one worker for each station since my hero wasn’t high enough level and it was painfully slow and I would be losing resources and not getting enough food. Adventures aren’t much fun either as all you do is just watch your heroes attack and repeat. I think to improve the game they could lessen their dependency on heroes in the game because it lessens the fun and drives people away from the game as I’ve seen in other reviews. The game isn’t that fun anymore and I plan on deleting it soon since it’s become mundane at this point.

Set up for failure
I actually enjoyed this game as a time consumer. I’m disabled so I have a bit of down time and I’m always looking for new games. This is a good game for that. I actually really enjoyed it. It has an adventure part you do on the side that keeps it non repetitive for the most part and it has side events where you go and build side towns for rewards. So that stuff is pretty nice. Unfortunately I did pay a little here and there to keep up to even out of the rewards that I got. I wish I never spent any money on this game now. As time has went on and I’ve passed levels (currently on 5 my screen only shows 7) it’s slowly made my people angry for no reason. Your survivor dissatisfied bar. Last town (4) for some reason they were almost ready to strike and it gave me 0 indication as to why. The temp, stomach and sleep were all basically always at the top so I have no idea what was going on. Now that I’ve moved on to the next town although all three of my major bars are full my meter is starting to drop. With 0 indication as to why. It’s frustrating that I’ve done all the requirements to keep them safe and fed but something is causing them to be dissatisfied and it won’t tell me what. Very frustrating. The fact I can’t get my money back is the only thing that keeps me playing.

Another fun game ruined by microtransactions
Firstly I'd like to say I realize devs need to monetize their products. I'm not bothered by that at all. This game however breaks a few days into playing it specifically so you're enticed to make a microtransaction. Let me explain: TLDR: the drop rate on some necessary heroes is so insanely low that you're either stuck or forced to pay. full explanation: There are "heroes" which grow the output exponentially. If you don't get the hero you can't get more people working on that resource and thus have an extremely limited output. So when you get to copper there's a hero that they don't give you no matter how many earned suitcases you open. I imagine he is there but they made the drop chance so low that you get stuck. To give some reference, right now i'm outputting about 54 bronze pieces per 13 seconds and our idle output is limited to 2 hours; unless... you guessed it, another microtransaction. This makes it nearly impossible to progress and i'm not even that far into the game. The weirdest part is that it's a pretty even increase in difficulty until you get to bronze then it comes out of nowhere and the production goals just get more and more out of reach until you're considering paying. I was so into this game I would have bought stuff if it wasn't so coercive.

Americans are charged Double
There’s two ways I played this game. 1st way was paying to play, by buying gems & coins for using the slots. I spent almost $200 to only reach rank 3. Now mind you, they’re dollar conversion is different for each country. For example “100 gems for $5.99,” that equaled to $12. I’m located in America, so anything in the store you see, it will be doubled for Americans. I even contacted support and that’s what they told me. 2nd way I decided to play was spending less money. I found myself checking every other hour to gather my resources, it was more time consuming to play at this point because this would take ALL DAY to play, to upgrade, gather resources. You’ll need heros, they’re stuck behind having to pay, and if you’re in America, you’ll be paying double. I tried a different strategy, where I didn’t care to play in the events anymore (the events is where you’ll get your heros, more gems and hero skins to change), until one day my card was charged from this game. $13 was randomly charged, I checked in game to see what did the $13 went to, I tried to find a receipt, none, I went to purchase history and it was taken out of my account the day I decided NOT to play. I contacted Apple and the returned my money. You’ll never win unless you want to spend $400-$500 dollars, if you have the money kudos. I deleted this money stealing game.

Paid to play after a certain point
I played until the certain point in the game. When I was getting less hero’s cards to upgrade the ones I was currently playing per city it was becoming more frustrating to get more materials and people to make them. I’ve noticed I built a bad habit of spending unnecessary money for the game to move on for the main game and their side games. So How i viewed it I was spending money just to play a game. Sorry I can’t no longer support it not when it was 1. Getting me no where and two when I’ve nearly spent $30 in one day. That’s when I knew I need to delete this game. After that I knew I needed to delete the game before I end up investing more money to only bring me joy for a few minutes. It was great to play the game in the beginning but once you past city 10 that’s when you spend your money. I liked it when you played the mini events they would give you gems 💎as rewards when they were up in 2-3 days (the main thing that would help you by past building materials) but now they hardly give you any good rewards to help you advance in the game. Like any game once you start spending for a free game it’s no longer free and not worth playing.

Great Game, Giant Issues
To start off I loved this game initially, it was an even level of grinding for resources and then getting rewarded by being able to progress. But the issues arise when you start progressing further into the story and into the harder cities and realize the only way to get the heroes you need (which are used for resources you must have to progress) is essentially to buy them the first time they pop up in the shop, hope to get them in a random pack if you miss your chance, or grind fanatically during events to maybe get them. You can of course grind for weeks to slowly amass enough resources to move to the next city but by the time you do that you essentially have to start over and it’s not worth the time spent just clicking and waiting ages to collect resources. It has a lot of potential to be a great game, but having to spend maybe more than ten dollars attempting to get a character to progress the story is ridiculous, paying to unlock skins and other fun things is great but paying to progress is incredibly frustrating as even if you do buy the pack you aren’t always guaranteed to get the hero you need.

Fun, but little bugs make it annoying
This is my favorite idle game, because it genuinely feels like the I’ve made progress almost every time I log in. Even the events are pretty satisfying, though I don’t like how some of the changes they’ve made to them generally make it harder to achieve rewards. The rewards themselves have also been switched around to be a little less appealing in general. One thing that drives me crazy sometimes though is the weird mechanics that go into how the villagers eat. If you leave the game open in the background, it will sometimes act up, and then just skip mealtimes. I’ve also noticed that if you have more than say 25 villagers, the rest of them basically always go hungry because there’s little not enough time for all of them to eat, even when you have enough food. All of this of course goes towards causing strikes, slowing down production, etc. It’s start to reach another level of annoying, and makes the game almost unbearable to play at times. Really hope they fix that soon.

Great until 3rd City
I have the same comments as everyone else. This game is really fun, well done and with nice progression, and the rewards feel proportional up until city three. Then, instead of the heroes you need to being given out as you finish tasks, suddenly one vital hero is behind a pay wall. You can’t put more than one worker in a key building, no matter how much you upgrade. Progress grinds to a halt, and there’s no real point in logging in more than every couple of hours to grab your rewards and make hope is enough for one tiny upgrade. I love supporting developers who make good games. I’m always happy to throw money towards them because I know how expensive it is to make and maintain a mobile game. But the Hero paywall feels bad; also, $10 a week or $20 per month to go ad free is outrageous. Don’t respond to this and say you’d like my feedback on how to improve, because I’m giving it here: (1) don’t suddenly put heroes behind a paywall after you’ve led your gamers to believe that they’ll be handed out as rewards, and (2) lower the fee by about 90% for ad free (make it a one time fee or up at $1-$2 per month). Or don’t offer it at all, if ad revenue is so important to your income.

Just too many bugs
I really want to love this game. It is fun but the bugs that persist through many updates are increasingly frustrating. Some are hard to notice but are undermining the ability to strategize at all. For example: the game will show that a certain upgrade will increase oil production by 400K but when you actually do the upgrade it increases production by only 100K. That’s bad, but what is much worse is the game has serious issues keeping track of your production when you’re not actively in the app. I will look at what my factory is producing and what amount I need for the next upgrade, figure out that should take x hours and plan to return. When I come back after the time, there has been zero actual production. Worse, even though I literally have 250K in excess raw food and a fully staffed kitchen, all my survivors are starving or have died and abandoned their posts. This is especially a problem in the events. To avoid this I have to leave the app open and my phone on. Kind of a deal breaker as it defeats the purpose of an “Idle Game”. If they could iron these issues out I would rate 5 stars and consider spending on an otherwise really well designed game.

Fun game, terrible support and value for money
I’ve been playing this game for quite some time and strongly supported it. The game, progressively could get boring or difficult especially if you’re stuck with the food resource providers or the fuel ones and have to upgrade them as your game will pretty freeze for a while until you upgrade them. In terms of events, they keep coming up with good ideas but the even repeat themselves. I wouldve given the game a 4-5 star review had it not been to the recent incident in the event. Briefly, the new events they issue out consume a lot of processing space along and results in the overheating and lag of the device. I use two phones and I switch between them for this game. I purchased a few packages and consumed gems that I’ve been saving since I started playing. I ended up losing the progress I made after the purchase right when I switched phones and the maximum compensation they offered was a 120 minute resource pack which costs literally 180 gems after two hours in real time along with the gems and money spent ending up being useless due to the loss of progress and acquired cards. Over 1500 gems and 5$ were wasted.

Great game…..
I like the game, yet there are some things I would def change about this. First thing is let the players choose if they want to play with the heroes. Waiting 8 hours to hope you get the hero you need and be disappointed every time because it is just the same old stuff is annoying. You can’t move forward without having the specific hero for the plant because you don’t receive them the game wants us to spend $6.99 to then guaranteed get the heroes we need. Not ok, there should be other ways to get heroes like when you go on adventures or on the fighting sprees. Games nowadays just always wants the players to spend money. Just not feasible. Also the players do not really communicate with each other like in your ads. Another thing is if you have a factory and have four machines yet only one worker due to the hero problem it’s not fun to be waiting around for that hero to finally show up. Something should be done about it. The game otherwise is not a bad game.

Fun for like 2 days
It’s a fun game, don’t get me wrong. At least for the first day or so. Over time, it just becomes very apparent to be a pay-to-progress game. Not in a literal sense, but to a very distinct point. You get to a point where you’re required to have a hero in order to have people work in a building that produces a very essential item to progress, so until you get lucky and get the hero from the free cards every 8 hours, or you buy it, you best be okay with producing your materials at a painfully slow rate. I would understand if it involved prioritizing where you work your survivors in order to progress to the next step, but then you fall back into the restriction of needing a certain hero to have more than one person working in a shop. I get that you don’t want to advance through the villages/levels super rapidly, as that would take away the feeling of achievement, but if I have to feel like it’s easier to pay $5.99 to get the 2 hero’s i need just for ONE village than it is to check back every 2 hours for 3 days, then I see no enjoyment in this game. Rant review over.

Fun Game UNTIL you get to third city
At first glance this game looked like fun, tried it out and it was! Resource management and a new idea that you gotta keep your colonists warm by centering your settlement around a big furnace. The game was a joy to play until I hit the third settlement where I was resource blocked because I needed heroes in order for my resources to be produced efficiently. The game does give you some beginner heroes, but by the third settlement you have to either unlock them by opening a daily box (low chance of success) OR you guessed it! Hand over the cash, which for me takes the joy out of any game and potential it could have to be a great game. I understand games have to formulate ways to become profitable, but at the same time their are games out there that are perfectly profitable without impeding a players progress. What I’m saying is don’t let your players hit a brick wall and then expect them to pay up in order to keep playing, because at that point we can see the greedy business man rubbing his hands together while he watches us mice try to get to the cheese.

Good game but could be much better
The game has a great flow even if you’re practically starting over after every accomplished level/city. My biggest gripe is that players, like myself, that migrate from one city to the next seem to outpace the developers of this game. For example, I’m in a city where 30-40% of my buildings can only support 1 worker because relevant (new) heroes do not generate for the city that I am in. Yet hero’s generate for older cities that I’ve already moved on from, which is cool because i still may use them as fighters for adventures but ultimately it stagnates me because I’m unable to move forward and truly experience the game. I’ve completed 2 other cities with buildings that fail to attain a hero and still acquiesced with bottlenecks in my pipeline. It just gets worse as I progress through the game. It’s frustrating as a user and there should be better algos in place to support players in relation to the actual level they’re on. Meanwhile the side games provide rapid hero support even though these event aren’t the main objective of the game. Seems to be a huge gap and miss!

Misleading and Money Hungry
First off you don’t build your own town, you move from place to place upgrading. Then each city you move to gets harder, as with most games right? Well the only way to advance and move on is if you get these hero’s that the only way you’re guaranteed to get them is to buy them with your own money. Otherwise you have to wait until you get them either as a prize (which you get from advancing the city so that won’t happen if you can’t get the hero) or if you by some miracle get them in the 8 hour free case (which let’s be honest, I’ve never gotten the hero I actually need from this stupid thing). There is no option for you to use diamonds that you’ve earned to pick which hero card you get. So you could have like 10 cards for a hero you don’t even need them for, but nothing that will help you advance. The only redeeming part of this is weekend events. Only weekend ones. The Last Autumn is during the week and it’s just as bad as your main cities. The others are fun though, and they give pretty good rewards.

Honest Review / 72 Hour Gameplay
Straight to the point ⏭️ The Game is honestly really fun, kind of addictive at first due to the fact that you’re constantly working on building your first base & understanding the rules of survival. Construction time if fairly fast and diamonds ( used to speed of the process of things ) are giving to you in a decent manner, depending on how strategic of a player you are you can manage them properly. (Strategic knowledge is a must) if you try to bum rush your way through by running through supply you can find yourself in a loop hole of scavenging and might need to purchase resources to get back to speed. If that’s how you play correctly and actually be patient with it, the Game is fun. The battles you can partake in is also decent given the fact that they supply you with Stars to lvl up your heroes in a reasonable manner as well. 4/5 Stars because it can be slow at times, but hey.. you can’t expect perfection. Ads arent annoying or in the way either! :)

Not a long lasting draw to play
The game is fun in the beginning, but feels stale even after visiting the 4th, 5th, etc city. If you follow the tasks you can finish the city relatively quickly, only to start over and try to do the same exact tasks. Also, the events feel like a distraction and are a bit annoying. You have to do an event and do the exact (or mostly) same tasks as your main city, have to grow heroes and upgrade buildings, for prizes to use in your main quests. It would be better to just do away with the events and allow in game achievements to get resources and gems to progress your main city. Both main game and events within the game have an almost identical goal, so it feels like double the work for really little reason. Also the map ‘fights’ feel disconnected a bit. There doesn’t seem to be a big pull to do them other than they are there. Why not have the game be just about building the city, allowing the player to earn extra resources and hero cards within that part of the game.

Don’t waste your time on this game play WhiteOut Survival instead
Let me start this off by saying I initially downloaded this game first, now by some miraculous miracle I’m on the 4th city after having this game for the better part of a Year, you get most heroes you need except whoops if you want Sophia or the chef and medic and greenhouse hero for city 4 you are at the mercy of the 8 hour chests which don’t do jack, or claw and scrape to get to 350 gems to get a rare chest with what seems like 0.5% odds of achieving new heroes. The game developers here really dropped the ball and made this game to where if you don’t pay them to pay you will never get enjoyment out of it, oh and let’s not forget this new weekly and monthly subscription plan that doesn’t do anything but line the pockets of some shawty game that a second year programming could figure out how to work. Seriously if you want to make this game more fun make it to where the heroes you need to progress through the game are guaranteed unlockables while you play, increase the odds if you don’t have certain heroes over upgrading others, or just do away with utilizing heroes for boosts on your buildings.

Issue with game
The game is pretty good to play. It would be a lot better if 2 things were changed. First you supposedly get two tries to get chests and puzzle pieces. One you get automatically pretty much the second you have to watch advertising to get it. Most of the times it works like it’s supposed to but manny or most it tells you that the “ads re not loaded” therefore you miss out on getting the second chest and puzzle piece. Few time if you go back at a later time before the time clock resets you can get them, but those are few and far. The other major issue I see is that sometimes the game is set up so that most used resource for that city becomes extremely difficult to acquire and no matter how much time you spend playing game you really can’t advance much due to this sue. I for one May stop playing if these two issues continue to occurr. I like the game but these 2 points make me lose interest in the game.

Played until 3rd city but will probably stop.
I actually tried to explain this through discord but seems like they are hardcore fans there and don’t listen to actual debate. Looking at the reviews, it seems like I was right. The third city is extremely difficult to the point where it will become hard for newer player retention. Games should only be that hard gradually, but your city becoming too dependent on Hero’s you get by chance will become incredibly frustrating to new players. A game should be challenging, but fair too. There should also be a better way to properly assign/unassigned survivors to accommodate specific needs. If for example one needs resting, you could send that specific survivor to sleep- instead of having to randomly un-assign survivors until you get the right one. Also there is this very frustrating bug that happens whenever you put your phone for a couple of minutes. Specifically during the work hour there will be only a specific amount of food ready for survivors. I came back after a few minutes and only 8 meals were ready for 14 survivors. Which caused someone to die (as I locked my phone 3 times). It’s also a little of a bummer to have to restart your city every time you complete the tasks- and mind you you don’t have to fully upgrade it either. Very frustrating game in that sense. Challenge progression should come in naturally, not from 0 to 100. It will confuse players, and it will become frustrating to a lot of them.

Early Stage FUN, soon Serious Problems
I agree with all other reviews. At the beginning it’s super fun. Then, it becomes too needlessly difficult and boring as you wait to randomly get heroes that you NEED to complete levels. Also, the cost to build and the time to build (over an hour) becomes another reason to turn the game off and find one that is less torturous. The developers clearly want you to purchase access to heroes and ways to speed up time. It’s very heavy handed and not appreciated. Personally, I’m at a point where I’ve waited three real time days to get enough resources to move incrementally forward. This is not fun. It is arduous. *Case in point: playing 3 days on this new level, but desperately need the greenhouse hero. Had countless opportunities to get this hero (purchased suitcases with my existing diamonds & general play has yielded maybe 10 opportunities to get this specific hero… but no. The game WILL NOT give me this hero). Greenhouse w/o hero makes 18 potatoes. Kitchen needs 700 potatoes per meal. Characters are starving. This has been happening for three days. Simply can’t feed. This is zero fun.

Good Game- but not the production cap
I love the concept and the style of this game, and playing through the first two cities was extremely fun. Once I got to the third city though, every building required a new hero to have workers put into it- even if I already owned a hero with the same job description. The way it’s set up to require specific heroes isn’t very efficient, and Mmmh production is slowed down to virtually nothing. I can only get a couple upgrades every ten or so minutes because of how slowly my one worker gets things done. Other than that, I vastly enjoy the side battles you can do on the map, and I like how the heroes do serve some purpose in adding a multiplier to my workers output. I appreciate the lack of excessive ads, and still watch some by choice. Overall, I’m a bit sad that I can’t make very much progress- I’ve been waiting for four hours checking in every few minutes only to have my production not even double in one resource, but I’m still going to keep playing, because I still enjoy it.

Fun but broken!!!
I have literally grinded this game for a few months. Enjoying every bit of it and slowly climbing to reach the next level. But for one reason and one reason only I can’t give it 5 stars. The offline cycle is busted and has been for awhile. I know the last update says it was fixed but it’s not. I even tried leaving the game running in the background and it still didn’t progress materials any. Time keeps moving but hunger, supplies, sleep, none of it happens offline. I believe I am currently on level 7, just starting it and I can’t get anywhere because I can’t make coal fast enough. I have shut off any other factories that use coal including the furnace and cannot progress unless I sit and watch it. With the furnace off I’m sure everyone will die soon also or lead to a strike. Hopefully this gets resolved soon because I’m debating on deleting it do to the frustration of it all.

Too reliant on heroes
I like this game and most of its mechanics. The major problem I have is that the heroes are required starting in city 3 just to make progress. The hero’s level limits how many people can work a job in a building. This would be fine in my opinion, if it didn’t affect food. Without a hero in city 4, I cannot get more than one person collecting food, and the amount they gather without the hero’s multiplier is abysmal. The people are starving to death and not able to get resources I need to advance the greenhouse either. Why not just wait it out in this city and get the hero, and all will be well from then on? That’s because when you advance to another city down the line, there’s a new hero you need of a higher rarity. Now you’re back with the same problem, with an even lower chance of getting the hero you need from the free box, and I do the one free box a day and the one that’s free from an ad. It feels like a forceful cash-grab to get you to buy premium currency and open boxes.

The p2w bottlenecking is really egregious here.
Like many other reviews, the third city has a massive bottleneck in that you need a whole new crew of heroes to get production running. Previous cities unlocked heroes as you completed tasks but this one requires either waiting to get them out of free chests every 8 hours or so or buying chests or heroes in packs. The chances of getting the heroes you need for production out of the free packs are very, very low. You will get a lot of heroes you already have and aren’t in production. The push to pay is really hamfisted and introduces fake difficulty through a money wall rather than any actual difficulty or balance. I’m hoping the game lets up after this city and doesn’t introduce another crew of production heroes in city 4 because I’m not playing another week of box opening simulator. There needs to be a way to earn the new production heroes that isn’t luck-based. Put tokens in the fighting modes as rewards or something that doesn’t require chests and rng.

Classic Hood Game Ruined by MicroTransactions
Shaping up to be a fine time waster, until the 3rd city. In the 2nd city they start introducing helps e that you can collect and level up. And then survivors being able to work in a building is locked behind these heroes leveling up. Which is fine, it encourages you to go do hero activities. Then in the third city you don't even have that option. You can have one worker work in the building unless you get a hero who isn't available. Many he'd be available in one of the random free packs? But I don't see him. Ah, there he is. I can purchase him in the store for $5. And if it was a one time purchase to unlock the full game that might be one thing, but he isn't the only required hero that hasn't arrived yet. No, this is a greedy way to get you to spend money because you'll have to buy however many heroes they decide you'll have to buy, they just haven't let you know yet what that will cost you. And after you buy the first you feel like you have to buy the next or your money on the first was wasted. I'm not falling for that. Deleted.

Fun but getting harder
I am having fun with this game. Especially the side games they are much easier to upgrade your hero’s. The main game is basically the same in every town. But for some reason it is fun starting over at each town. Right now it is getting to hard to get red stars and I am having problems getting production out of some of my workshops. There is one hero that I need for one of the workshops that they say you can get in one of the suitcases but I can not get him. I have spent money on this game to buy a suitcase or two and still unable to get him. So now I am having trouble passing the level without him. It is very frustrating that I wait a day and hope that the production in certain workshops have built up so that I can continue and move on. But, that does not happen. Unfortunately I am almost ready to stop playing and delete the game because of these things. :(

Good but there’s problems
I haven’t had this game for that long and I do think it’s great and very fun but I also think it has a few problems. When watching ads to get rewards, it doesn’t always give you the reward. For example if you get the game from the ad it showed you or there is any disturbance while watching the ad it won’t give you the reward among many other problems with ads. This is the only game that I have this problem with. During the adventures no matter how good of a team you have and picked it will give you enemies that are way above what you can defeat very early so the whole adventure was just pointless. One of the things I really enjoy in this game is the gems and how much they give you. You can use so many gems to speed things up and still have 200 plus left over. There are constant opportunities to receive gems without having to pay for them.

Pay to play solution
Ugh I have to retype this 🙄 I was almost done typing and the App Store app decided to refresh itself 🙄 Ok many reviews complain about a pay wall. I’m assuming that I’ve hit the same point. It’s the 3rd city and the iron building requires a hero that you have to pay for. Heroes unlock additional worker slot, without them, you can only have 1 worker assigned in certain buildings. The 3rd city will require a lot of iron and coal to progress. You need coal to increase the iron production speed. You also need iron to increase the coal production in general. The fire that keeps the towns people warm, has an infinite fuel source when you first start off there. So refrain from upgrading the furnace to level 2 for awhile. Level 2 will burn the coal you’ve accumulated. it’s better to use it to max out the iron production speed first. The level 1 furnace won’t keep everyone warm enough, but you can utilize your hospital. If they get sick, they’ll get better within seconds. If someone dies, another survivor joins shortly after. So don’t stress on their health and focus solely on increasing your iron production. I have 1 worker who’s producing 108 iron every 6sec. It’s still slower, but it’s much better than what I started with. I hope this helps someone. It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s working so far.

The hero won’t show
This game is fine but I have some concerns about it. I keep getting chest but the hero just doesn’t show up!!! Fix this so I can actually have my survivors survive!! And the adds are fine, there is no adds, but when you want to get another chest to I open you can watch an add, and some of these adds are inappropriate!! And when I play it on my phone, my sister usually watches what I’m doing, and I constantly have to lift my phone up so she doesn’t see inappropriate adds!!!! That is what worry’s me about this game!! And the price to work the furnace is just to much!! I wasted half of my coal to just work it!!! And when you go to the city’s that you already finish, you can’t to nothing there, fix this!!! I am getting tired of it being like this! But otherwise the game is good 👍. But feel free to fix the errors In the game!! Please!!! And I know people have this kind of problems, I’ve read it in the comments! Now fix it!!!!!!!!

Too hero dependent and monthly payments are bad value
Like other reviews state, the 3rd level is also doing me in. The game has a good gameplay loop however, progress at level 3 is stalled due to a necessary hero that I have to magically get with loot boxes. Additionally, there are 3 separate monthly paid subscriptions that you can opt into and they are all of incredibly bad value. $10/month for ad free? The game barely has ads as it is. $10/month to gain 100 gems a day? Might as well just buy the gems in bulk from the store. $15/month to construct more than 2 things at a time and gain 2 more hours of idle work. World of Warcraft offers a better value proposition for $15/month. To have all 3 subs going at once is $35/month. None of these subs address the issue that you’re completely stuck without getting the right heroes in loot boxes. I’m enjoying the gameplay loop for now but the devs really should tweak it so the builds do not depend on heroes to staff additional workers.

City 3 is the money wall
City 3 is where you have to break down and buy the heroes that will allow you to properly staff your production. Otherwise, you’ll just grind by logging in a couple times a day to collect resources for 1-2 upgrades. F2P time on app drops to about five minutes a day. If you’re cool with that then this game might work for you. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll keep playing to see if I can randomly draw a hero in a free crate that I know the devs want me to pay real money for. Another frustrating part of the game is that the survivors you lure in are always exhausted and starving, and some of them stay that way even if you pump all your resources into the dorms and kitchens to max out recovery. You can only have them eat twice a day and sleep once a day. The end result is that your production is always working at a reduced rate (10% loss). That doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you can only have one worker per resource because you didn’t buy the heroes it can have a big effect.

Good game but it’s basically pay to play
The theme is great, very frost punk and it is fun to play. However the game is often pay to play. I don’t just mean watching ads or buying things to advance faster/easier but you actually have to buy heroes on certain levels just to be able to play. Each city “level” require specific heroes to run production buildings. In the first 2 cities you are give these heroes by completing tasks. However in cities 3 and 4, Plain City and Ice Lake, you aren’t given the heroes to operate key production buildings. So you hit a huge roadblock that makes the game frustrating. One example, in Ice Lake there is a farm building. Which is the only food source for your city but without Andrew, you can only assign one worker which doesn’t produce nearly enough food so your survives constantly die. And it’s not just because the level is difficult and you have to play smart to advance, you are held back completely by the fact you didn’t buy the hero pack for that level.

Fun, but ads never work
This is a fun game, and the events are good, but my biggest complaint is that the ads never work. The game will give you the option to watch an ad to get some resources, but every time I just get a message saying something about the ad failing, and my ONLY options are to pay to remove ads, or lose out on the resources. Other games will give you the stuff when the ads don’t work. The inability to get those extra resources really makes the game go slower, plus the developer doesn’t get to make any income from the ads. Other than the issue with ads, this is pretty much exactly the type of game I was looking for. I could do without the whole freezing storms and such, since I’m more interested in the city building and resource generating aspect of it, but it hasn’t been much of a nuisance so far.

Starts out good but then loses its excitement
I saw this game advertised and thought it would be fun. It starts out great but then it becomes impossible. As you go to different cities you need to gather hero’s and level them up. In the beginning that is fun and doable. Do adventures, get stars, level up hero. Soon the amount of stars is not possible to get to level up one level plus every few levels you need multiple cards for that hero. It’s to the point you are running a factory with only one person. You can’t get enough fuel to heat the furnace, or food for the survivors to eat. It’s truest impossible unless you buy stuff. My town is always striking and any people starve to death. One of the side adventures you need building permits to get survivors but the only way to get them is the slot machine. Sometimes it’s ok, the last round I only got a few permits so I could not advance to get the prizes. It was not fair. Most likely will stop playing soon since it’s no longer fun or challenging.

At the second city the fun drains out unless you start spending money
The screenshots are definitely misleading, you don’t get to be ground level with the survivors at all. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the art, and there are a lot of options of things to do, but ‘improving’ your town becomes glacial the deeper into the second city you get, and progress becomes impossible unless you start buying stuff, but you can’t buy specific items you need - you buy chests of random items, so spending money doesn’t necessarily guarantee you improve your game. It didn’t let me get far enough in to actually love playing the game and see its fun potential before making me buy stuff (which I’m in no way opposed to) and just made it a waiting game to gain resources with no clear path of where it’s supposed to be going. It has potential to be fun, but I got bored playing for free, so I’m not sure why I’d justify spending money on it.

What’s the use of Heroes?
The game concept is great. But why the heck do you have level locks on heroes, especially when you NEED them to progress the game? I’d understand it if it was restrictions on advanced Epic or Legendary Heroes, but for the common heroes too? That’s too much. And what’s up with needing to acquire the heroes through a loot box system? It was ok for the first 2 levels because you actually EARNED the heroes once you build their respective factories… but why would you make it where my common level chef hero can’t be used at all in the future levels? I would have to get lucky enough to somehow draw out an Epic Chef Hero, completely discarding the progress I made with my current one. What irks me even more is how you can’t add more workers in a factory without your hero being a certain level! You BARELY get the red evolution stones to upgrade your hero! So if you can’t upgrade the level cap on your hero, then you can’t add more workers, which leads to an even longer time to get everything done, which will eventually lead to more survivors dying or leaving. I like idle games, but If I’m gonna be advancing my factories to the point where there can be 6 workers, but can only put 2 to work because my hero isn’t leveled enough or I didn’t get lucky enough to pull them from a loot box, then it’s not a problem on my side. It’s the game’s fault for making my progress slow. Im done with this game. 2 weeks and $8 wasted.

A great game until it isn’t.
So let me start off by saying the game was extremely fun and rewarding until the 3rd city. Why the 3rd city you ask? Well up until this point the game would give you the much needed heroes for each building that allows you to unlock more spots for civilians to speed up progression. In the 3rd city they do this but for one of the middle tier buildings. This essentially gimps you from making even the slowest of progress. I can only assume this is one of two things. A money making tool to force a player to spend money on the loot boxes in game in hopes of getting said hero or it’s a bug. I’m really hoping it’s just a bug because this has stopped my progression for multiple days now just hoping that finishing up some of the quests will finally give me a quest to unlock the hero needed to start making progress. Iv upgraded almost every building but the one needed has still been stuck at 1 civilian making upgrading any further actually impossible.

Level 9-10 gets very time consuming
I have one complaint that may well stop me from playing the game. I’m at level 10 and do use limited funds to purchase extra supplies (5-10 a week). The wishing stars required to get hero’s past level 45 is excessive. Right now I have stopped playing the game for almost a week just to level up the hero’s. Each level past 45 requires 4,5,6,7 million stars. The issue is you have to have hero’s at level 50+ to get more than one worker on a supply. I get 600,000 stars every two hours. It since this happens in my down time I may get that twice a day. I’d purchase the upgraded package except it’s a monthly fee. It’s high to start with and every month is not going happen. So until I can get multiple hero’s to 50 I will be at this level. I suspect the next levels will be the same so I will get bored with not making progress very shortly and delete the game.

Addicting but glitchy
The core gameplay loop is definitely fun, but you run into some annoying issues a few hours in. Everyone’s complaining (understandably) about the monetization halting progress in its tracks, and I’d agree that that needs some tinkering. So yes, the paywall is pretty serious, but as someone who’s fine doing some micro-transacting, the game needs to be fixed before I’ll drop any real money on it. Half of my settlement is starving because they can’t get through the kitchen line in time. If I log in during a work period, the survivors all scatter from their homes because they hadn’t left them yet. A game with an idle timer that people can pay to extend should actually work during that idle time! Lastly, making the buildings farther apart in later cities just to cut down on usable work hours is bad and predatory game design. Bottom line, fix your AI because it’s hindering an otherwise decent experience.

Fun but also frustrating pay to progress game
The game is fun until they introduce heroes, afterwards, the game comes to a screeching halt if you don’t have the right one or the hero isn’t the right level. Most of the time you can purchase upgrades using real cash or diamonds (diamonds can be earned but most likely purchased). If you don’t want to or can’t purchase the upgrade then the game slows to a crawl while you want to collect the resources necessary. From what I can tell, the heroes and resources required to upgrade arrive randomly so you can’t plan on how to acquire them without purchase. Progress in the 3 day events reset after the event is over so you lose anything you buy and upgrades to make the overall game more playable are subscriptions (some monthly and some weekly). If you don’t mind the play parameters, the game can be a lot of fun but beware that it could be a black hole for your cash and time.

Close but missed its mark, pay to play.
It reminds me a lot of the pc game frost punk, which I assume is where the idea generated from because it is very very similar, but it failed to hit its mark. I dislike that u move from city to city but can overlook that it was until I got to the 3rd or 4th city that the issue began. Do to mobile games being the same money hungry game over and over again they put “hero's” into the game. I didn’t have much of issue with it at first but when I arrived in the 3rd or 4th city you need a hero for the iron mine, unfortunately no matter what I did I could not unlock him none of the missions have crates that would give me that hero and the free crates won’t either, I can’t progress anymore because of it and I’m not gonna spend money on the game just so I can play it. I do not recommend this game because of this reason, you can’t force your players to spend money just to progress. Again do not recommend do not play or spend money on.

Money grabber
Far too much of a money-grabbing game. I’m not surprised since it’s GM5 Studio, but it makes it ridiculously difficult the further in you get. Not to mention how absolutely bonkers the cost of the IAPs is. Upgrading heroes to a point where you have enough food—period—and can collect resources to move cities in sooner than a couple of weeks at least is impossible. Mini events (like the plane and coin/acorn one) aren’t completable unless you pay. Main events are nigh impossible to reach higher than milestone 8 without paying, and that’s if you check in every two hours and spend more time in-game than most people reasonably have. I’m also very perturbed by how the story is pretty much abandoned after the first few cities. It’s fun as much as it can be for an almost-pay-to-progress. Definitely possible for a 5 star review, if only it didn’t have what are essentially paywalls.

My comments are the same as the others
It’s a fun game to do when your passing time, but the progress is agonizingly slow in r the 3rd city. Why require hero’s with a loot box system in place to get them? Especially if no progress can be made without them. The prices are outrageous, even more so when you think of the fact that they’re MONTHLY and some even Weekly. I took a gamble and bought diamonds so I could get some of the crates without waiting. I got a hero I didn’t even need, nor does it do anything to actually help my progress. And it’s very misleading when it says “Go to shop” in the hero’s screen under the ones to collect. It makes it seem like you can individually purchase them when again it’s all locked behind loot boxes essentially. I’ve filled out 2 in game surveys as well in having the game over the last month, and it doesn’t seem like they go to any use.

Decent but needs adjusted.
Needs work. It’s a great game, I’ve always been into these types of games. Being a huge fan of Frost punk, which is obviously what this game took inspiration from, I had expectations that weren’t met. I actually edited the fact that you can move through different districts or whatever you call them, but the fact that I can’t get new hero’s to save my life is kind of a problem. I have 6 workbench’s in my iron mine but can only run 1 workers because I can’t get the hero. Yet my foundry 1 and 2 are both running atleast 4 workers. So there’s no way I can keep up with the demand and also have enough to upgrade. The iron mine is only making 8k iron a minute when it should be making more like 80k all because I can’t get one hero. I believe hero’s need reworked. I think them having an effect on how much you’re outputting or the speed is better than determining if you can have workers or not. Fix the hero’s and it’s be 5 stars.

Frustrating
This game is awesome in the fact that I don’t have adds popping up all the time. Only when I want to collect extra resources. 5 stars for that! However! My survivors are dying and striking because I can’t upgrade my hero to get more workers to hunt. So I am basically at a standstill. I have to have my hunting hero at a level 25 to get more then one hunter! If the heroes actually did any of the work themselves, since they don’t sleep or eat, that would be one thing. But all they do is boost production or get in the way because I can’t upgrade them. I have 5 open slots to get extra hunters but I can’t because I need to upgrade the hero. So I have extra people standing around eating food without working. Please fix this, or you will lose players. I would also like to see being able to switch out workers for the night shift so they don’t become so exhausted when there are others standing around doing nothing.
