I found the daily schedule for my current trip one time but can’t find it later. It should be one menu and everything listed upfront and u don’t have to go in something to find something. Also it doesn’t sync w travel app like tripit. I have a cruise confirmation in email and tripit sync it to the daily itinerary. Gadventure itinerary won’t sync. It would be useful since it will have the hotel and location and all the travel plans in one place. It could be done. Plz look into it?
I’ve been on three G Adventures tours in the last two months and we’ve tried to use the app each time but it never works correctly. Frankly I’m baffled as to why any company would ever let a product as bad as this be available in the first place. The list of problems is way too long to even mention. It’s easier to list what it gets right - it provides a daily itinerary. That’s about it. None of the other features work correctly. Everyone on my current tour has complained and no one has even gotten a reply. This has been a common story on each of my trips this year and yet the app is still available and no improvements have been made. Very disappointed.
I REALLY want to like this app as it would make all Gadventure tours so much easier. However, there are a lot of issues to work out: - initially didn’t work at all on my phone - after an update it was great! All necessary info was there and i went through the “good to go” list and put everything in. - next update, nothing worked and I couldn’t see my trip. - another update and the app seemed to work but my “readiness” level went from 88% to 22% and clicking the option to add info back in results in an error. All of this was true for my friend also using the app so it isn’t just me. I’m too scared to rely on this app and complex tours (like China with their visa requirements) don’t leave room for any sort of mistakes, app not working, etc. So much potential here so please get this up and running correctly. I want to be able to do everything I need to do and be able to book side excursions too. Would really be a huge factor in streamlining tours with Gadventures.
The itinerary function seems the most usable and accurate function. Chat is clunky, does not provide notifications, and is pretty unusable. Maps are there, but often do not reflect locations specified in the itinerary. On some maps I consistently get a location somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, and then when you try to move or change scale, the app crashes. Many other aggravating nuisances. Apparently no one is tasked with fixing problems. This app is an embarrassing representation of National Geographic.
I was worried when I saw all the negative ratings. I downloaded and signed on without any problems. My trips were on the app and had nice summary of upcoming trip , packing list and contact numbers. I only wish you had the option to make a payment. They don’t have the payment option in the website either , every time you want to make a payment on your trip you have the make a phone call.
But if prior to departure this is absolutely useless. Logged onto the www which said to dl the app. Downloaded the app and the only option that works was the "plan your next* trip button" which directs you back to the www. Couldn't even use the "contact us" as the drop downs don't work and it won't let you proceed without selection. Kinda confused as to why there is an app (or what it actually does) but if this app does do something I'd adjust the rating. For now, not worth the 20 mins of back and forth.
This app was much better several years ago. Now when I try to add items to the packing list, it won’t show up under “need”. So I have to use a completely different app as a packing list. And the text in the itinerary is cut off. For instance, it will say: “meals included are bre”. So you have no idea what they remaining words were. And the maps are really vague and you can’t tell what they are showing. You used to be able to click on them and they weee interactive but not anymore. I click on extras to see additional day tours to add and the text is on top of text so you can’t read it. It has so many bugs right now. I hope they work on them because I love gadventures and use them all of the time.
I love the pc version of this, but the app is great at first. You can see all the trips as you do on the pc, but after awhile you won’t be able to view anything. I am not sure if I need to update the app or something else. Hopefully this app can improve or be fixed so that the issue doesn’t occur in the future and hopefully I can access the app again.
Unable to even login to see how awful the rest of the app is. Sent a link to my email to login and the app launched, asking me to enter nationality and dob. Dob options were at the VEEEEERY bottom of my phone screen, right above the app switcher feature of my phone. This requires a surgeons nimble fingers, multiple attempts, and sheer luck, to finally edge the tip of my pinky onto the date selector widget without accidentally launching the app switcher. The Nationality picker did not open on the screen. Rather, a “Need help” option opened - again, at the VEEERY bottom edge of my screen. I was never able to see the list of nationalities to select from. I clicked Login anyway. The error message that popped up said that I needed to enter a dob. ??? I then deleted the app. Missed opportunity here, developers.
Clearly the app has been updated and improved since a lot of the bad reviews. Still has limited functionality—for example it doesn’t list that I paid for my own room or any of the activities. But still useful to have.
It was great for the first few weeks, then it stopped loading content. I literally just see my name at the top and the Trips, Today, and Chat options at the bottom with an otherwise blank screen. None of the menu options load anything when selected; it’s stuck on this blank screen. Frustrating to have to use the desktop site constantly because the app doesn’t work.
It has your documents and a VERY broad itinerary that just lists what city you’ll be in that day, which is nice, but it’s not very useful. It should have a way for tour leaders to put in detailed itineraries, like the ones they give us on the tour, so you know what you’re doing that day at what time and what free time activities are recommended in the area.
Worked okay when I first downloaded it. Then I kept getting an error when I tried to login, now I’m able to login but it doesn’t show any itinerary or chats. Awful for such a big company to have such a useless app. Update 12/3: showing my itinerary but the chat has still disappeared. Guess I won’t be connecting to my fellow travelers.
As soon as I write this review I’ll delete this app. .The tour starts today and we still don’t have the meeting time at the hotel. I still don’t know where we are staying on tour so I could get concierge assistance and just had to hunt the Internet for help with side trips, etc. is no hotel information for our tour, Ciao!!
It'll work for a while and then the Today and Trips pages will just stop loading and be blank forever. Probably should request a refund from whoever you outsourced the app development to, they're obviously not trying.
This app has never worked and I’ve called customer support many times and sent the developers an explicit description of my steps and the outcomes of each step. Crickets!! I’m having buyer’s remorse. I hope they have their act together on the actual trip.
I really wanted to use this app to book a trip with G-Adventures. Sometimes it’s hard for me to bring my whole laptop when I’m browsing for trips since it doesn’t work, maybe I’ll find another travel company who can handle developing an app.
My 5th G trip and the App has never really improved. I keep getting added to a group chat for a trip I’m not on. Future trips should not transfer you to the web. The CEO should be added 10+ days before the trip to allow for communication. Weather reports might be helpful. App is inconsistent in its functionality.
I have a trip coming up in a week and an update to the app just deleted almost all the relevant features. I can't see my tour details or checklist anymore. Only thing available now is a chat with my upcoming tour.
The app worked for our last trip but since then it has deleted us even though we are fully registered for another trip. Can get on website but app is a disaster! When is this company going to invest in a reliable upgrade?
I get Error 424 every time I try to use the app. I have no idea what that means. More informative error messages, rather than just a number would be nice.
I like the itinerary portion, however, it works if the app opens. App keeps crashing. I love GAdventure company, but this application is not representative of it
Seems like there has been some improvements over the last few versions. The app does provide the basics - access but no ability to edit your profile, details about your upcoming itinerary, contact info to g adventures, currency and weather of destination and offline map download (though I'm now sure how this is intended to work). All things I expect to be able to see. What I don't love is the link off to find additional trip info, etc and the add-on feature not working. The link off seems like an after thought. And the add-feature not working isn't acceptable. Please fix the add-on feature, what's the point of having that if the module doesn't allow you to select the right pick up or drop off dates from the airport, add on activities or extend hotel dates?
I am not sure if the app is not keeping up with technology or what is happening, but used this app 2 yrs ago to Myanmar and it has lost serious functionality since. - have lost pictures - no longer able to see itinerary easily with out diving in several layers - functionality to add features to trip dead ended - functionality to contact gadventure office doesn't seem to work through app. They replied to email through website but not through app - missed out on hotel opportunities had to book separately If planning trip don't rely on app - use site.
Downloaded app to search & add trips to wish list. Not able to do that. Takes me to browser for trip details and makes me login again for wish list. "Send Feedback" function makes the app hang
I never write reviews, ever. But I really really hope that another negative review will bring a functional app for a company I love. What is the point of this app other than to disappoint? You'd be better off pulling this from the App Store until it's properly developed.
I keep getting a notification to download offline maps for Local Living Ecuador: Amazon Jungle. However, I've already downloaded them. And, the trip was completed on Oct 19. The flow of the app is wonky. Please read the iOS Human Interface Guidelines and make the necessary changes to improve navigation. Additional features could be added to make the whole trip flow better. Especially in the beginning where the CEO wants to collect information from each passenger (insurance, emails, passport copies, food restrictions).
