Please fix
Great game, been playing for a couple years and is awesome at burning up time. I literally have only one complaint. I don’t know if it’s a phone issue or something else but whenever I leave the app, not close it, to check something else and come back it’s always right where I was, either in the middle of a round or waiting somewhere in the garden to start the next round. However recently I have noticed that if I leave the app, not close it, I can open and use any app and come back to play where ever I left off except for when I open and use my camera. Once I’ve done that doesn’t matter if I’m in the middle of a round or not the app completely reloads upon coming back to it like opening it it for the first time. Like I said I don’t know if there is a way around this or if I’m just stuck with this issue or it’s an issue that o my I’m dealing with, however with how long this game has been on the market and it’s following it’s odd to see that it doesn’t have a refresh/resume option upon returning/re-opening the app, like a “ would you like to continue where you left off “ option like so many other apps on the market have. I don’t know what it takes to add this or if it’s even possible with this app but it’s an issue/nuisance, especially if you invest a couple dollars into getting power ups to get you through a level or have beaten enough levels in a row to build up a nice bundle of free power ups ie the chest or magic hat.

Please start telling the truth in your ads
I downloaded this game thinking the complete opposite of what the game is actually about. This game is about rebuilding the garden of his childhood. You complete furniture with collecting starts. You collect these starts from a mini game very similar to candy crush but it’s related to the garden. But let’s get to the point. I downloaded this game from an ad. There are many ads saying that you either, save him and the girl from Antarctica, or you have to save the house with out failing, or save the garden without getting a fail. All the ads make the person fail but making it really easy to chose the correct answers. Me and my friend decided to try this game for my little sister to play. Without even thinking how some of the ads don’t even go with the point of the game. Later on it was downloaded and my sister had no idea what to do. I then knew that the ads where straight clickbait so this game could grown even more! These ads are even used in their game Home Scapes. Other than the ads clickbaited probably many people, this game gets a 3 star. Not a 4 or a 5 because of how difficult the levels are to get starts, it can take days to finish some. At the start it was easy but then the challenge came where I was stuck on for many many days! Any way that my review. Thank you for reading and I hope you can stop the clickbait, thanks!

I’m almost to level 10,000. The game has slowed down a bit. There are some levels that are pretty hard and I’ll spend weeks on them, or buy the power up disk with extra firecrackers. This game got me through graduate school. It gave me the mental break I needed to refocus and get back to work. I wish a couple of things were different. There used to be a place we could pick to watch ads to get more money. On a hard level, I’d spend days getting more coins through ads and more power ups and now I cannot have the ads. It would build up to lots of power ups and 900 coins so I could have extra lives and finally beat a level that took so long. It’s not something I thought about for a long time because I would just play this game, but I recently downloaded another game and there are tons of Gardenscapes ads. We don’t have ads…but you advertise. Another thing, why aren’t your loyal players given the chance to play mini games? I want to help the lady and her daughter stay warm after that jerk face ex ran off to marry someone else. The’ve never shown up in my play. All we have are those excursions that are impossible to beat without lots of money. I spend around $10 a month on my payday to play your game. I’ve been playing about 5 years and I did try to start a new edition of the game on the iPad so I could play mini games but it was so frustrating to start over. I linked my progress back to Facebook and the games were gone. :(

Pretty Good
It’s a great game and I did not get it from looking at the adds my sister has been playing for years and has a really big garden so she suggested it to me. But now that I see the adds it’s kind of a scam for one thing the stuff they show on ads are mini games and people only have them every 10-20 levels plus the mini games are not nearly as fun or long as they seem to be most of the time when I beat a normals level it either gives me a super hard level that I get stuck on or it keeps giving me easier levels so that you finally get stuck on a level. If you download Gardenscapes it may seem easy at first but it gets harder and harder every day take it from me I’m on level 519 and most of the time I open the app I get stuck on a level and trust me I’m not a bad player I have tons of match games that I’m on a high level in but for some reason Gardenscapes is the hardest. Right now I’m stuck on a level. A good thing about Gardenscapes is that it has a lucky spin every day most of the time you get pretty good stuff depending on the level you use it. But sometimes they have fun seasons that give you better and better rewards every time you beat a level but the minute you lose one they all disappear which is pretty annoying especially when you’re on a level that gives you 3 stars when you beat it ( those levels are always hard but when you have tons of rewards and lose it’s really annoying.).

It’s not bad, but NOTHING LIKE THE ADDS… 😭
Okay so this game is super fun I’ve been playing it for a few years now , but my one and only complaint is that this game is nothing like it shows in the adds you can only do what is shown in the adds in the mini games , which isn’t really fair because even the icon of the game has a picture of the mini games and that picture doesn’t really show how the mini games really go . The game is about helping a gardener restore his childhood home and also I’ve seen ads that say this game needs no WiFi and has no ads . That is not true , maybe Playrix, the developer could keep this game , change the icon maybe and if possible make another game that’s jsut as shown in the ads with a different name and icon and different ads Update: this is just my perspective of the game and what I would like , possibly not your idea of the game, and I would love a response from the developer, Playrix but I overall absolutely love this game. Update from I few years later: playrix, please make the stuff said in the adds true. Um also yes even the game gossip harbour isn’t like the adds but the adds, the girl and mom are the same? Why? Also the real game tbh is boring, the adds show something so fun tho! Why can’t you make an app like that? Please? I will give it five stars and a wholesome review 🥰 so please Playrix, (side note, the game is still awesome just not my kind of game)

Best game
I’ve been playing this game for five years since I was pregnant with my five year old! This and Homescapes I downloaded when they came out and every penny spent has been worth it. I love the golden tickets and I’m looking forward to another holiday season full of decorations and new challenges! I play every day and spin the daily wheel everyday for five years and I’ve only hit the jackpot twice so that’s a little rigged. I think the reward for people who play daily should be greater and those who spend money. Maybe offer a yearly golden ticket package? 25 for the year? I would buy that for sure. Plus I’ve only finished a few room renovations and a few golden tickets and again I play everyday and I think I’m pretty good, so I don’t want it to be too easy but maybe offer more unlimited power ups during those events. Those help so much but sometimes even if I have all three going unlimited for 15 minutes I only get through one super hard level and they are wasted on one level. Just a few suggestions for ya. But overall this and Homescapes are amazing games that literally help me relax and clear my mind. My husband can’t believe how faithfully I play but after three kids all day long cooking cleaning and a cake business I need some me time playing my games!

Needs some updates
This game is addicting, and it has its perks. It’s more interactive than other matching games and the garden graphics and storyline is super cute. However it is bit racist at times and could use a moral shift… and there are certain levels that simply cost you to pass them. You can either play them 100 times or spend $$ on coins to get past them; I do feel as if they toss them in so you will buy coins. I’m all for supporting a game but I’d rather pay $5 up front than feel worthless because I can’t beat a level without help. ** the mini side games are fun they take you on little adventures where you get to help a friend with a task. In the beginning the “cost” of things is manageable but the inflation reminds me too much of the American economy. Things cost 10x the amount of lightning bolts but we still only get 2-5 a level 😒. So again you can’t find out the end without paying dollars. !* there are annoying glitches! I can’t tell you how many times I try and switch a bomb to the right and the game shifts it left so it doesn’t hit that strategic gnome. Or! When it’s all greedy on it’s suggested match and I want to make a different match that will actually help the progress of the level and it won’t let me, it’s like my fingers don’t exist. 🫥. I’ve also used stars to add to the garden and a glitch in the matrix happens and those task and bits of the story I have to do again, only the stars have already been used.

Love this game
The game is great so many things to do I love how it’s not your everyday puzzle game. You finish a puzzle and get stars and actually get to do something like making the garden beautiful. I do wish there were easier ways to get money to buy the extra garden designs examples the fairytale and Greek looking garden options or drop the price because over 8000 for some will take forever to get also it’d be nice for more options of getting lives not everyone has friends that can send lives to them or can get into one of those alliances with a lot of active people so I think a way to get lives easier would be nice I get so into the game then get stuck waiting thirty minutes just for one life. I love the game though other than that I definitely can’t complain it’s so much fun. I also love how they give you chances to change the house I think we should get an option to paint the house the colors we want also it’ll give it even more of our own personal touch to the house when not using the holiday themes. Keep up the great work. I’d of given 5 stars but because of those few things I feel would help the game I gave 4 hopefully in time I can give that 5th star because this game definitely deserves it please consider adding better ways to get lives and money to buy in game items and painting the house for our own personal touch for when we aren’t using one of the holiday themes.

Not bad until you buy a golden ticket- then it’s a bigger money grab
I have been playing this game for well over a year. It has been my go to stress reliever. However, I began to notice certain things that I did not like but the game play was fun enough so I continued to play it. That is until I made the mistake of buying a golden ticket. At first I noticed that some levels were not labeled hard but were more difficult to pass than the hard ones. I was always asked to make a purchase. Which I did not and eventually would get through the level within a day or two. However, I purchased a golden ticket for the first time since I began playing this game and have been stuck on a hard level ever since! It’s been well over a week now and I can’t get through this level. It’s not even a super hard level. The game keeps asking me to purchase stuff. I refuse. I feel like I’ve been swindled. There are other problems I see with this game. 1. The daily bonus lands on the rainbow almost every day. 2, you have to choose the power ups before you even see the level. 3. Why are all the levels worth one star when you have three category levels? 4. The pace halts to a crawl. Unless you spend money on this game, you will not advance as quickly. I feel that this game has become less about the user having fun and more about getting the user to spend money. And even with a golden ticket, they want you to spend more. This game can be a lot of fun but I think that algorithm need to be fixed.

Great Game, But...
So, I’ve been playing this game for a while (and I mean a while...) like, close to the 7,000 level range and I’ve been having mixed feelings with this game. First of all I do enjoy playing it, but I have a few complaints for some levels. I’ve seen a response where the developers left a message saying all levels are beatable without power ups. While this may be true, the levels are very random. What I mean is this, if you replay a level, fruits or whatever is there don’t say in the same place. You will have to reset the level just to be able to make a huge blast power up to help clear levels. Some levels also have so few turns that it’s super hard to beat unless you get a perfect start. Sometimes you’re forced to you a power up or all 3 to just clear a stage. Especially in the later stages, you would need to keep as many power ups just for that purpose. I have played stages as well where easy stages would act as hard or expert levels, and have few amounts of turns. The same with certain hard levels where it instead should be an expert level. I do love the fact that there are these challenges where you can beat a level consecutively to earn extra power ups. Those definitely help, but you can easily lose them. So, while I do love the game, I have to give it a 3 out of 5 stars. Just because of the the way some of the levels are made.

The Nicest Game Ever
This is, seriously, the "nicest" game on the internet. Austin is like your super-supportive friend, who's so positive it's almost creepy, but you gotta love him, because he's just so nice. I started playing this game as part of an offer to earn gold in another game I play, and I've been a daily player ever since. The match-3 levels are pretty addictive and challenging, and they're always changing and adding new features, so it stays fresh and interesting. At the same time, you're fixing up the gardens and having adventures with Austin. All the neighbors you meet are fun characters, with interesting backstories. It's all gorgeously rendered, and totally bug-free. You can play offline. Fun little events happen pretty frequently. Best of all, there's practically ZERO ad-presence... you have the option of watching videos for coins from time to time, but ads are never shoved in your face. I think this game is designed to appeal to older adults-- hence, the 80's-supermarket-style music, but I really think anyone can have fun with it. I am seriously just impressed with the quality of it. The only things I'd potentially change about this one: faster recharge on lives, different music options, and more customization options for the garden decor. But it's serously pretty great as it is.

Good match 3 variety
For the most part, I enjoy this game. Several variations of the standard Match 3 - unblock barriers, collect items, etc. Games vary in difficulty - some are very difficult and I don’t think I could win without using boosters that you can win in the game or buy with real money, or buying extra moves using coins you earn by winning levels. I would like more ways to get coins. It’s tough when you need coins to pass a level but the only way to get them is by passing the level. I’d also like an “undo” because sometimes my finger slides sideways instead of up and I inadvertently make the wrong match. I got this as a free game and won’t spend real money on it. There are some challenge levels where you only get 1 chance but if you win you get more coins and other prizes. They cost a life to play and you can’t skip them. I’d like to be able to skip. There are also team and individual challenges, where you can win things when you or your team collectively hit certain milestones. It’s always nice to win free stuff! There are also side games that don’t require skill or luck, but playing them can earn you coins and/or boosters. These side games usually last for several days. I play them just to get the free stuff, but some are pretty fun. All in all, this is a pleasant way to kill some time.

Fun but annoying
This game is definitely addicting and can be fun, but also very frustrating at times. As others have mentioned the levels get progressively harder as you go on. You can end up wasting lots of power ups and coins trying to beat a level and still lose. Also the rewards stay pretty much the same so you’re basically always getting diminishing returns as you play. But by far the most annoying thing for me is the multi-step process needed to restart a level when you lose or decide to quit. Whenever there is any kind of challenge active where you have to collect things or earn rewards, there is always a pop up where Austin asks if you are ABSOLUTELY SURE you want to lose your rewards/collected items from that level, trying to get you to use your coins and continue. Yes Austin, I am 100% sure I would rather give up these 15 apples I matched than waste my coins on 5 more useless moves that will bring me no where close to winning the level. Of course there is no option to disable these popups, probably because they are just a poorly disguised attempt to get people to spend money on coins. This used to be less of a problem because there weren’t always challenges going on so usually there would be no popup. Now the challenges are constant, and I have to mash the end level button multiple times to blow through Austin’s unhelpful advice every single time I lose or quit.

Addicting, But Frustrating
First of all, I want to say that I love absolutely love this game! It is very well advertised, and it is such good quality. I really enjoy the storyline and the beautiful garden. However, I do have a couple of problems with this game. During the first couple of days I easily went through and played the levels. However, when I hit the 60’s it got hard. Now, I’m not complaining about the difficulty level, but there is a frustrating cycle when you just can’t complete a level. If you don’t have enough coins to buy more moves, then you don’t have enough coins to buy a power up. You can spin the wheel every day to win prizes, but you rarely get something you can use to win that level. Also, if you can’t when the levels and you don’t get any stars, and if you don’t get any stores and you can’t complete any of the challenges and win coins! You see where I’m going with this? It’s almost like the game is forcing you to purchase coins if you need an extra boost I a level.😕 Even after all this, I still love this game and gave it four stars for its originality and fun! I do ask that there be an easier way to get coins, though, like on Homescapes when you check in consecutively, you get coin rewards. I think that would be a great addition to Gardenscapes! Thank you to all the creators of this game, you guys are awesome!

Mixed feelings about this game
On one hand, it’s wildly addictive. On the other, it’s overly frustrating to be stuck on a level that clearly shows the developers lacked some basic empathy/understanding of how the game works. I’m often stuck on levels that are not super hard, per their labeling. I have looked past the thanksgiving-riddled decor (mass genocide and stolen land? not something to celebrate) and the now Christmas-heavy theme, which is great for folks who celebrate Christmas. But I can’t look past the openly racist Asian-inspired area. Being Asian myself, I am so confused how this material made it past the quality check, let alone the initial copywriting phase. The story had to first be pitched and then approved by a manager of sorts. It is just bizarre. I skip most of it because it’s like a slap in the face every time I read it. It is most blatantly racist in the backwards, broken English they use for the Asian character, and the stereotypical “master” title is getting really old. (If they were going for the true stereotype, they could have at least consulted someone Asian and used the proper term “sensei” which would have made it less inaccurate, at least.) I know, it’s just a game, but someone should really be required to take some equity training. This is a very bad representation of Asian people and I’m disappointed it’s a large part of this game. If I were invested in this or advertising on this platform, I’d want to be more inclusive.

Worse than Gambling
So, I enjoyed playing this game. The graphics are good, and the game is enjoyable. The problem is the ratio of coin payouts to what you have to spend to stay in the game. There are different ways to earn coins without paying for them; the normal maximum payout for free coins is 500 (some challenges can go as high as 6000 coins), and that doesn’t happen very often. You have to spend coins to stay in a game after running out of moves—the first charge for five additional moves is 900 coins, the next one is about 2000, and the next one after that is about 3000 coins. As the levels become progressively more difficult, you will run into some levels that are almost impossible to beat, even with boosters. If you give up without paying for more moves, you lose your starting boosters, making it even more difficult to beat challenging levels. Buying coins can cost anywhere from .99 cents for a few coins to $99 for 110,000 coins and several boosters. But because payouts for free coins are so low in comparison to the large number of coins that you will need to stay in the game, you will always end up losing and even large numbers of coins will quickly disappear. It’s worse than gambling because with gambling, at least you have a chance to win big jackpots. I ended up spending over $400 before I quit. It’s addictive and it’ll end up costing you. Don’t do it. Also, the fact that this company markets this game to kids is pretty shady, imo.

A great but expensive game
An interesting match-3 game with real dialogue written well and at a level accessible to everyone, this game can consume many hours. However, they penalize high level players with levels that require power ups to complete, and with others that, if you have automatic power ups due to events running, ruin a supposedly-clever mechanic and make the level unbeatable. Of course, you can keep spending money for more turns (which is undoubtedly the goal) but it’s very easy to spend $30 in micro transactions and their “best deals” are usually not. However, the game itself is largely stable. The one giant caveat is that if you are in the midst of a level and receive a call (when playing on your phone) the game may restart and not only do you lose any progress on that level, but if you had automatic boosters, they are forfeited even if you paid for then. Contacting support only gets to a token reply that this is functioning as intended and basically you’re screwed. Please do more money in the portal on your way out. The oft-requested feature of waiting to use free lives until one had time is never answered, so enjoy six hours of unlimited lives right before bed. Still, it’s the most enjoyable “free” game out there, and by far the best game in the “Scapes” series.

Addictive, too easy to spend money.
This is a fun, entertaining, story telling, somewhat educational game. The artwork is nice, the logic to keeping you playing has been thought out, and it is pretty easy to play. You can win each level without power ups, but it is real tempting and very easy to buy power ups or to extend game just a few more plays. I have spent too much money in this game and am about ready to end it. But it was my choice to spend the money and Apple sends you a report on your expenditures so you can say WHAT! One big problem, when you run out of battery and your devices powers down (ok, that is the players fault), when you power back up and re-enter the game and the last level you were playing, the game thinks you had lost the level and the power ups you had stored in the bucket or chest are gone!!! The developers might consider not removing the power ups until after the last move of a level that ends the level, not during a crash. I lost a full chest of power ups after this loss of power crash (I did not plug in the iPad in time) and am finding it almost impossible to recover, or I need to spend more money. And I am done spending money. Time for me to move on, but I hope the developers can fix this issue. Until they do, don’t run out of power while playing this game!

Fun, but the game cheats to try to get your money
I’ve been playing this for many months now, and while I enjoy the premise and the gameplay, I found that the game purposely tries to prevent me leveling up. I currently have 23 extra lives (probably the 5th or 6th time I’ve accumulated this amount) that I got from the daily spin. I purposely press the stop button on different parts of the wheel, and yet I STILL get extra lives every time. It’s totally fixed. I’ve found myself stuck on levels for weeks because what I really need is a power up to give me the edge to pass the level, but I’m buried alive in extra lives instead. Additionally, I’ve found that if I start blowing through levels too quickly, the game will purposely make my lose a level by refusing to drop the needed shape. I’ve had more than twelve moves left to me after gathering all the gnomes or the lemonade but one, and despite making matches right beneath where I need things to be rearranged, the game will just keep dropping useless shapes for all of my 12 moves and purposely prevent me from winning. I’ve noticed that the only way to combat this programmed cheating is to just stop playing. I won’t open the app for days and then suddenly the game provides everything I need to pass a level I’d been stuck on for 9 days. It’s very frustrating, and there have been several times I’ve considered just deleting it.

I will literally never delete this game
I have had this game for three years, and I love it more than any other game I have ever downloaded. I love how many things austin can say. The graphics are amazing! I like how when ever you click on something it makes a noise, like if you tap bush is makes a like bush sound or if you click on ice it makes an ice clinking sound. The sheer effort they put into the little social page you can click on is so cute, like im sure not too many people look at it, but its always there, ya know? I love gardening in real life, and I love gardening in the game too, its just so green and lush I love it. If I get to a hard level, I may just stop playing for a few months, but in the end I will always come back. I love my dog (his name is goose!), and how sometimes theres those little training levels. I love the background music its so calming. I do wish there was a way, if you truly needed to, to skip a level like maybe a special ticket thats only available from the treasure chest on the daily wheel. Im 17 years old (female) and my friends sometimes make fun of me for playing it and they call me an old lady but I dont care, I will play this game as long as it exists. I dream to one day finish my beautiful garden alongside my trusty butler, Austin:)

I love it and it’s fun to play but....
First off, I just want to say that I absolutely love this game. I love the aspect of decorating the home, the plot, all of that. The only thing that gripes me about it is that, the game is so transparent in the fact that they make like 2 or 3 levels in a row super easy like passing it in 1 or 2 lives and then they’ll give you a level that you can’t pass for a week, like making it impossible, and you can only pass if you use the power ups or use the coins for more turns. After about a week and the game notices that you don’t use any of it, they make the level on probably the 9th day SUPER easy to pass and you’ll move on. I’ve noticed this about 6 or 7 times in the game and I’m upper 100 levels. Now to be fair, A LOT of puzzle games are like this. Homescapes is just visually appealing enough to make it bearable. The reason why I don’t mind it so much is because I play it a lot on my free time or when I’m bored so playing it, knowing I’m going to lose a level because they’ll make me wait to see if I use the power ups, is killing time for me until I actually pass it. Besides all of that, if you don’t like games that have that same interface and strategy with its players then this game is probably not for you, but it is a very well looking game with load of fun puzzles to play from!

Fun but frustrating
I got started because I enjoy getting away from every day stressful life. This game is extremely frustrating. They’ve dropped the amount of moves you make at each level, and it’s now more a “pay to play” game. Constantly promoting competitions, etc. but to achieve any kind of awards you need to pay for bonuses, lives, etc. to move forward. Yes, it’s your choice to pay or not...however when/if you don’t, you can be stuck on a level days or weeks! No exaggeration! And if you use bonuses to start with that you can win 1 each day spinning a wheel, they put the bonus (bomb, rainbow, etc) in a useless spot that you either have to use immediately to make your next move, nullifying the bonus or putting it somewhere where it’s stuck and you can’t use at all. It was fun to begin with...my favorite part is decorating the garden...I really enjoy that and competing with my team for prizes. However to continually get stuck with no chance of winning before your time is up and then because you’re not advancing you can’t compete for prizes in competitions and get rewards, not fun. Unless and until they fix some issues (others complain about constant crashes, missing awards, etc) and reinstate the moves you took away a few months ago... I may be done. Sad when all a game thinks about is how much money they can take as well as enjoyment. And tech support is non-existent. Gamer beware....

Great game, one irritating problem
Overall I love this game. HOWEVER, there is one issue that irritates me endlessly, and I’m writing this review hoping it gets resolved. In some levels in which the goal is to get the punch cups to drop to the bottom of the map, there are little nooks that allow for the rainbow blast power up to drop down into the nook in the space below the cup, so that you can’t use the rainbow blast because the only thing to switch it with is the cup. If this happens, there is no way to win the level!! The rainbow blast is blocking the cup, and no amount of blasting with bombs will move the rainbow blast out of the way. The ONLY way to win would be to use the little “hand” special to switch the places of the cup and the rainbow blast. So if you don’t have that, you basically waste an entire life and any other power ups you started the game with. Like is said, compared to the entirely of the game, this problem is small, but it is definitely a design flaw that causes me to just waste entire levels! It’s SO SO SO aggravating because it’s different than the level just being difficult- rather the level by design and chance is impossible. At the very least, provide a “surrender” option so that I don’t have to do random swipes for 10 moves knowing that the level has become unwinable.

Relaxing game...
I really enjoy playing this game, great graphics, challenging puzzles, customizable settings, cute storylines and I enjoy playing after work or when I have some free time. Things I would tweak: Austin is a gardener...not a butler (picky, but it just annoys me 😉), to move along faster in the game you need to purchase boosts (I no longer do this, so it just takes much longer to get free boosts), the 1 daily free spin is appreciated but the game needs more opportunities to get boosts, and finally the stars...you need to solve 1 puzzle to earn 1 star. Depending on what you are trying to accomplish (clean an area, plant a tree, renovate an architectural structure), the game requires so many stars for each task. Many times the required stars are more than what I think is reasonable, or they break the task up into 2 or even 3 parts (meaning even more stars). Finally, the special events like transforming the mansion or a part of the garden for the holidays (Christmas, Halloween...) have a time limit, but no break on the number of stars or an increase in coins to “purchase” more boosts. Towards the very end of the event the game will double the stars or coins, but almost too late unless you play constantly. So overall I would recommend the game, but for casual play & relaxing and don’t get caught up in trying to go thru it quickly.

Game
This game is one of the best games I've ever played!! It lets you help Austin (the butler) renovate and grow his garden!! Yeah sure sometimes the levels do get so annoying that i ignore the game for almost several months, but thats the ONLY reason i gave it a four star. In this game, there are rarely ANY ads! (Also, i tried putting a four-and-a-half star but it just wouldn’t let me). One thing that i like about this game is that if you are a gardener who wants to make their garden look better than it already is, this game is perfect for you 😊😊🙂. And if you are more like a indoor house person who wants to make their house look better than it already is, i highly recommend playing Homescapes because homescapes is basically the same game as Gardenscapes just its renovating and making the HOUSE look better than it already is. Also, in both of these games, after you reach a certain level, you’re allowed to either join or create a team. If you join a team you can chat and interact with people you’ve never met before.(of course you have to interact through your chats in the chat box.). If you create a team you have got to name it, describe it, choose a logo out of the options they give you, and confirm and hope people join. I hope you like this game!!! Good luck!🍀 👍🏻 have fun!!😉😀😀😊😄🥳

Great game, and I don’t spend money on it ever
I don’t understand the temptation to spend money on this game??? While I can see how easy it is to spend money, I never have and never will. For me, whenever the “buy” messages appear, I ignore them. When you are out of energy or lives, to me that is the cue to put the game down and shift focus to another activity, possibly that doesn’t involve playing another game on your mobile device or tablet. When I’ve exhausted my lives, I've already spent a considerable amount of time playing GardenScapes and it’s now time to do something else, like cook dinner, wash the dishes, sweep the floor, etc. This reminds me of how great this game is constructed. At the point when you’ve exhausted your current lives, you must wait a time period before a life or lives are regenerated. In essence, there is a subliminal message in this game that tacitly tells you to keep your priorities in order, and not be so obsessed with constantly playing a game for hours upon hours. I appreciate the sociological/psychological aspect of GardenScapes. Finally, the game is very impressive and the graphics are exceptional. The developers should be commended on how well they’ve constructed the game.

Fix your ads, man 🥲
This is… the most misleading game I have ever seen. I like puzzles like, well, probably anyone else who downloaded the game, but I personally do not like the matching puzzles. The ads consistently show only one minigame, the one with the keys. It’s the one where you have to get the money to the girl or the coal to the fire or the dog to the guy. It even advertises that you can pick the next level, when the minigame is randomly generated every time you enter it and one puzzle will repeat more than three times after playing 8 minigames or so. The false advertising does attract downloaders, but it also loses a lot of them immediately (for example, me). Users like to know what they are signing up for and the actual functions of the game. I remember that before downloading the game, I genuinely could not figure out why it was called “Gardenscapes” if all the puzzles shown in the ads have nothing to do with… well… gardens. That’s how bad the false advertising is. The game is mostly making a garden using points, dialogue, and the matching puzzles like Candy Crush x10 and appear much more often than the one with the keys, the one people actually download the game for. Thank you for reading my rant, and if you are a fan of the game, you probably think I am a mindless hater trying to sound mature. And if you haven’t downloaded the game, then now you know what to look out for. Have fun and have a good rest of your day :D

Too hard or ?
I enjoy this game immensely. I really do. I have to agree with some of the other reviewers about the difficulty in some of the levels and how it can take a very long time to pass a level. However, I think it’s somewhat okay. I look forward to the challenge of trying something different the next time I get a chance to play that level. I do not pay anything for the extra stuff. I did it once and felt like a heel. That’s part of the challenge. The only thing that bugs me more than levels being a bit too challenging at times is having to add crap to areas. It sounds so nitpicky as I type this out, but here goes. So we finish the fountain in the garden and then change the basin to a statue that takes like 9 stars to finish? It really takes a long time to finish any area in the garden when we have to do that stuff. I’m all for the challenging levels, but how many stars it takes to do the changes is a bit much. How about giving us the choice of a decoration: maybe the butler really wants the peacock for the basin in he fountain and it costs 3 stars. You like the angel for the basin and it costs 2 stars, maybe the original basin costs 1 Star. Just an idea. I think it would be more fun to have a choice that way.

Please fix rocket/firecracker priorities
I love this game and have been playing it for several months. I’m around the 1700 level mark and I have to make a complaint. The firecracker rocket things (the icon is a colorful cluster of three of them together) are normally supposed to go after crates or firefly jars, things you need to clear the level. But what’s frustrating is to be down to the last turn and I make a match with one, which should clear the one last crate or item.... and instead the stupid things go after a piece of fruit or leaf with a renovation ticket vs the thing I needed to complete the level. This is especially infuriating when I’ve got all the extra power ups from the treasure chest like the extra turns, bombs etc but then because the stupid rockets go after the ticket instead of the needed item to clear the round I end up losing and because I don’t have 900 coins left I loose the treasure chest items. This keeps happening and it’s super frustrating. If the rockets are supposed to help you clear times needed to finish the level then have it do that 100% of the time. I would rather finish the level than get tickets... which I lose anyways for losing the level so it make absolutely no sense at all. Otherwise I love the game. I hope you can fix this issue.

Letting players know
I'm letting all of you know that think you have to pay to beat a level is not true. Yes you can pay for the coins and stuff if you want. But it's just a matter of trial and error. I'm on level 559 and have not spent a dime of real money. I only use the coins I earn and the prizes I win with the wheel and events, sometimes it doesn't work out and I don't beat it but it doesn't mean I have to pay to win, I spent weeks on a level before keep trying don't give up and when you finally get a good set up the satisfaction is greater when you win. I love this game with the storyline it brings. I love trying to guess the new area when the other is complete. Same thing goes for Homescapes both are amazing. (I'm on level 289 and spent no real money on it) Both games for all levels trial and error. Don't give up don't get frustrated. Support the developers by keeping the games. You can buy the sales offer. But just because you can't beat a level in a certain amount of days or weeks doesn't mean it's set up to where you have to pay to win. All levels in all games are made to be beaten without pay or upgrades. Paying to help doesn't mean you'll beat the level then. So don't get mad at the developers.

Game can quickly become a money pit
Only gets 2 stars because this game is deliberately designed to quickly become a money pit. Decorating the garden should be fun, but this game is designed to frustrate the hell out of any player unwilling to spend real cash to buy coins which are required for everything from Austin’s (lazy butler) chores to answering the stupid phone and feeding the dog. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME! If you purchase coins, they won’t go far because the stupid match puzzle crap you’re required to play and beat will consume your coins in no time. Each puzzle level is designed to require more moves than a player is given to eliminate obstacles to: find gnomes (there are always too many), get rid of acorns, collect specified items (fruit, water drops, etc). Each level increases in difficulty, but the rewards DO NOT increase, nor do the boosters, etc. needed to play the higher, more difficult levels. If you have a physical or learning disability, this game is literally impossible to play and advance in because the stupid puzzles are too difficult to manage. Pity the developers didn’t make this game more user friendly for individuals with physical or learning challenges by providing advancement options to complete other than the stupidly difficult and unrewarding puzzles. ☹️ DELETING GAME...won’t waste money on it and refuse to waste time on stupid online forums plowing thru drivel looking for shortcuts and hints.

Changed The Game To a Money grab.
I first played this game about two years ago, I was flying through the levels, very much enjoying the game, then took a break around level 150. I recently got back into the game, now I’m stuck on level 412, it’s a “super hard” level but, without any boosters or pay to continues its entirely impossible, unless you are super lucky and get a tnt every move you make. But let’s be real. From the previous time I was into this game I managed to save up over 30,000 coins because I could make it through levels without having to use all of my coins to get more boosters or moves. I’m now at 2,000 because it’s almost impossible to get through some of the harder levels without boosters. I decided to look up the level I’m stuck on to see if people are also having a difficult time with the level, and to my surprise, a video from two years ago had 10 more moves at the beginning of the level!! Not to mention, the bonus moves you can get during the level have decreased in the amount of moves you receive, and one is entirely missing. Now the game is spamming me to “buy more boosters!” “buy more lives!” “buy more coins!”“buy the pass to receive boosters!” It’s sad what they slowly turned this game into. The game used to be very good, now it’s completely turned me, and many other people off. Revert the levels to how they used to be, and the game will be enjoyable again.

It’s silly but it’s fun
The puzzles themselves are good, they’re difficult sometimes but all of them are possible to beat without wasting any bonuses or spending your money. I’ve played it for a couple of years now on and off and without having paid a dime I got really far. I finally bought a small package of coins just because I enjoyed the game enough I wanted to support the creators. I figured I should leave a review, too. The plot is thin and just over all silly but... it’s meant to be. Really, you just don’t think about why you need to play a puzzle to earn a point to get the butler to answer the gate. You don’t think about why a helicopter is free to use for dropping off things and picking up trees. None of that matters, it’s just a silly thing the creators added in to make it fun to earn points from puzzles. He says cute things in between and I’m fond of him, despite the fact that he doesn’t like cats... not sure I could ever agree with you there, Austin, but I like the cat addition in their Homescapes game (even though he seems to have forgotten how much he disliked cats... or about the garden and dog too?) Like I said, you just don’t think about it too much. Thanks to the creators for a fun puzzle game, looking forward to more!

Fun at first, impossible in advanced levels
If you’re just starting out, this is a fun game. The longer you play, the more apparent the money grab aspect of the game becomes. Advanced levels (I’m on level 3234) are frustrating and often times nearly impossible to beat. I’ve been stuck on some levels for weeks. At first I figured that the levels were totally randomized and I just wasn’t getting boards that i could beat. But the interesting thing is, if you are stuck and stop playing for a while, the game will generate a message saying to come back and try the level you’re stuck on and suddenly, the board will generate what you need in order for it to be passable. Obviously, then, it’s not totally random. And since all of the in game events are limited time, advanced players with difficult levels don’t have a chance to complete these events in time. I have made the mistake of paying actual money for items in this game, but I encourage others to avoid doing so. I’ve contacted the developers when my progress has mysteriously disappeared, or when game aspects (like the colored rockets) appear to have a glitch. Nothing is ever fixed, progress is never recovered, and their “compensation” for their mistakes does not involve returning the money you wasted on their broken game. Save yourself frustration and time and play Township, which is a much better game from these same developers.

Ridiculous!
I really like this game, and I don’t want to stop playing it, but it’s so ridiculous! I’ve been stuck on one level for two days, and it’s driving me crazy! I’ve seen other reviews of people who have been stuck on one level for over a week sometimes like come on that’s ridiculous. Some of the levels are so unforgiving, and unfair. How are you supposed to make your goal if the darn game barely gives you any matches? So you’re just stuck there wasting turns until you fail. You don’t get enough coins to really do anything. There’s so many dumb things to do that requires stars, which you also don’t get a lot of. This game honestly just wants to drain all your money. It doesn’t give you any other way to try and progress by being stingy on coins, stars, and power ups. Want to win this level better pay $5 for it just to get stumped on the next one and pay more, and more. I really liked this game, but I can’t, and won’t pay an arm and a leg to play a phone game. Also the fact that each life takes 30 min to fill up! How are you ever going to get anywhere like that! I also don’t understand the stupid safe mechanic? So I have coins that I earned, and can use, but I have to buy them from you!? That’s like if I had to buy my own money! It’s stupid, and unfair! I’m about to delete this game because it honestly makes me want to throw my phone with how dumb all of this is!

Starts off ok
The idea of this game is great . It was really fun at first . As others have said as you get higher up in levels you need to have power ups to beat the levels to get coins to do anything in the game . However you can’t get power ups without having coins and you need to beat the levels to get coins lol so it’s a circle you can’t get out of unless you purchase power ups from the app. Also because the shapes fall “randomly” there are not always moves to make and the computer re shuffles the shapes . This messes up the game because many times you are trying to play to get shapes in order they they are shuffled . The explosives help a lot but you need to match 4 shapes in a row and many times you can do 20 to 25 moves which is all the moves you get and you won’t get 4 shapes in a row . The game is absolutely designed for the makers to get you to buy coins and power ups and lives . I am around level 45 and think I will be erasing the game . I’m sure once others play more they will do the same . If your quick to review a game I would have given this 5 stars at first but after sometime of playing ...... no thanks .. I’ll keep my cash and you keep your coins lol

Missed it by one
As others, I came by this game due to the misleading ads. That’s not the only thing wrong with this game. As for not spending a dime and enjoying this game, you would have to be a zen master not to get frustrated. You can play free, of course, but be prepared to play the same level many many many many times before you get a glimmer of hope. And this is where I think the game is rigged. There were too many, way too many, times where my moves were at 0 but I still had one thing to collect/destroy. Butterflies appearing only after I made my last move, a firecracker appearing just after your last move, etc. That tactic is used to get you to press that continue button and spend 900 coins. What??? You don’t have 900 coins because you just used all your coins on power ups for the very hard level and breeze through that to find that the next regular level is harder than the vey hard level? That’s how they get you. Tempt you to press that button to get more coins. So my take is unless you have a trust fund or have the patience of a zen master, steer clear of this game. I’m at level 1637 and been stuck there for a couple of days now because I had to use 3 sets of power ups to get past a normal level. Yes that’s 9 power ups for a normal level. Go figure. I can’t be a zen master anymore. I’m deleting this game. Same goes for Homescapes. Same problem same company.

My favorite phone game
I've been playing this game now for definitely over a year and it has come such a long way. It used to be SUCH a pay-to-play and the levels were impossibly hard so you felt hopeless. But it was the beautiful visuals and the cute storyline that kept me playing. As I got to later levels and the developers fixed all the little kinks in it, it's now arguably perfect. They have provided easier ways to get coins than just by winning levels, like a daily wheel spin, the introduction of "hard levels" (give you double the coins but really aren't often any harder than regular levels), frequent mini events that provide additional coins, power-ups, or even infinite lives for a period of time. Love it love it. My only complaint is that I wish I could put that time limit for infinite lives on hold in some way. I can't tell you how many times I've just thought to maybe play a couple games during a break at work or right before bed.. and then those are the times I hit jackpot 😰 One time during an event I went all the way to the top and got 8 hours total of infinite lives right before bed and ended up staying up all night because I didn't want to waste it. I was dead at work the next day.

I love the gam, but…
This is actually my favorite game and I’ve been playing it for a few years. I enjoy the garden building as the motivator and reward for passing levels and I prefer this type of match 3 game. I like it better than their Homescapes game. However, the further you get into the game, the more and more money you have to spend to progress. Past a certain level, ads are no longer offered to earn gems so you have to spend a long time on levels that are giving you trouble, or pay for gems and powerups. In addition, they’ve added “seasons” which are about $5 per season. I’m willing to pay this, but that amount a month seems like a reasonable amount of money for them to be getting from me without making things so difficult that it requires more and more purchases. The challenge levels add insult to injury as they are designed to make you use all powerups and gems to pass this level to earn the rewards - I had better luck getting streaks without this “bonus” which causes you to lose your streak powerups. So, very soon I will have to stop playing this game. Just not comfortable putting this much money into a game.

Addicting but has major flaws
I started out LOVING this game. I’d always play whenever I needed something to do to pass the time. However, once you get into the upper levels (1000+), they barely give you enough moves to beat it without using power ups or buying more moves making it a pay to play game. You’ll be stuck at the same level for 1+ week trying to beat it. I noticed that if you quit and don’t play for awhile, they’ll give you power ups when you return and make that same level instantly beatable. I understand they need to make some levels more difficult but basically being locked out of the game for 1+ week is ridiculous. Another thing I dislike are those super hard levels (with 300 gold reward) are virtually impossible to beat and we have no option of skipping it. When I get to a level like that, I always lose my streak with power ups. But that’s probably their intention. One last flaw I’d like to point out is that we win unlimited lives a lot but there’s no way of deciding when to use them (ie you can win 2 hours unlimited lives but have to stay playing for 2 hours or else you’ll waste it). There were so many times when I only had 15-20 minutes to kill and I would get 2 hours unlimited and have to let that go to waste.

Help....
I have been playing this game for a while. I’m currently on level 968. It is a fun game that I feel is practical. It does have its challenges but it never gets to the point where I feel like a have to give up because I can’t beat a level or what not. And I love that they always have little mini promos. Which also come in handy if you feel stuck on a level. Like gaining power ups when you win games and the daily wheel and other things to get power ups and coins. Unfortunately I am having an issue with the renovation tickets. My ticket balance is 33. And when I beat a level, let’s say I win 10 tickets for the level I won, my balance will show that I only had 23 tickets and the ten tickets won are added to the balance keeping my ticket count at 33. I’ve even seen it give me a negative balance if I win more than 33 tickets on a level. I tried to write customer service but didn’t get a response. I have no update needed, so I’m not sure what to do. Now I don’t gain any tickets at all. The event just says “hurry up”. And I received a pop up on the game right before writing this about how you can get double the tickets for a limited time. But now I’m not showing that I am even given the option to win tickets. Outside of the tickets the game is amazing.

What Is up with the ads
I had downloaded the game 2-ish years ago and it was normal. All the adds were normal. Just a simple game when you complete puzzles to rebuild the guys garden, no biggie. Til I started seeing the newer ads. Every single one of them is a lie. I keep seeing my little sister see adds for puzzle games like these and they are nothing like the game, but she wants to download it. This is a pure scam and waste of storage. Even when I first saw ads for this app what i was first going to download it the ads never showed that it was one of those puzzle games. After I realized I tried to play it for a while, but it got really, and I mean really boring. And a lot of people can probably agree with me when I say boring puzzle games or puzzle games that lie to you are not worth playing. Nowadays the ads are far more terrible. Whenever I see one of the ads I cry inside. What part of ‘fun’ includes watching the stupid fake hand abuse these mother and daughter. I don’t know about you, but watching a mother and daughter suffer honestly makes me not want to play it even more. If you are going to advertise your game, please, just show what it actually is. We don’t have the time to watch the game in the ads and download a COMPLETELY different game. It being free does not give you an excuse to lead people on into thinking the game shown in the ads is what they are getting into. Thank you for reading.

Enjoyable game
I had to put this at the highest ranking I could in order for the team to see it and acknowledge. There have been a lot of game apps advertising for things they just don’t do. I can live with that as disheartening that it can be. But to me it seams that they keep aiming more and more for the shock factor as time goes by. First we are seeing the woman getting cheated on or her husband leaves her because she shows him a pregnancy test. Then it is the man cheating on her as she is watching from the side lines with their child. Then she is watching from the side lines with their child AND she is pregnant. Then the other scenario is where the man is with the other woman kicking out the wife sometimes keeping the child from her or sometimes kicking the kid out too. In the ending scene the freeze to death. But today I have SEEN IT ALL this time the woman finds a baby in THE DUMPSTER! Are you seriously kidding me right now? Is there a level you won’t stoop to? When I see this type of ads for games I actually play. I delete them. You should be ashamed at how desperate you are to get your games noticed. They were already noticed and enjoyed until you jumped on this bandwagon.

Favorite game :)
I downloaded the game based on the click bait of a story line where you are given the options to save the girl, save the house from burning, etc. The actual game is nothing of the sort. I also noticed that the game will cheat you to try and get you to spend money. If I’m stuck on a level that I’ve lost 20 times, I won’t log on for several days and all of a sudden when I come back, I have “welcome back” rewards, and I can beat said level in 6 moves. That is so annoying. The challenge level is actually perfect for me, not too easy but not too hard. No one would play a game with zero challenge. The reward wheel is annoying too. I’ve played for quite a long time now and have hit jackpot one time. Almost every other time I get rainbow blast, but never anything else that could be helpful. Overall, this is a fun game to pass the time but it could definitely use some improvements. It IS very visually appealing, and I love the calming music and sound effects. I also love Austin’s borderline creepy personality and positivity. One last thing that I like is that there are no pop up ads and those type of annoyances. I’m the type of person that will spend a few dollars on a game if it is fair and if I feel that the devs deserve it FOR being fair.

Don’t get me wrong I like the game invite but every time it won’t give me the right moves to play or you know how it is and then the stuff cost way too much on the game way way too much . I like the game to staff and I can , you can do the Guardian and all that kind of stuff but the game itself is really boring it’s like kind of want to those games where you have to do something but it what are you do it until it want you I like the game to staff and I can you can do the Guardian and all that kind of stuff but the game itself is really boring it’s like kind of want to those games where you have to do something but it won’t let you and that gets on my nerves a lot that I’m not trying to put everything down on this game I’m just trying to say that I am only play it when I have to this is my writing I gave it to because it was really that good to me I’ll be with him I did I don’t wanna but you down or then I like all your things that I get that but for me the game is just not what I expected to get one I saw the ad I was like oh this is going to be fine but guess what it’s not how do you like my interview and didn’t feel you know all about Lala blah that about it is I really like game is yes it has some things in it that I wish I could change I just want to tell people who made this thing that I need some changes or some updates.

Bait & Switch: A shameless money grab
Don’t download this game... for so many reasons. Foremost - it is a standard match-3, decorate your garden/house game, but not only do NO ads for it show actual gameplay, they advertise completely different game types! This is not a “How to Loot” game, nor is it based on “Make a Choice to Save Their Lives”. However, that’s what all the ads would have you believe. That’s a deplorable business practice known as Bait and Switch. Deplorable, and in many places, illegal. if Playrix were a brick and mortar business, they’d be in trouble. To top things off, the actual game has level after level which - while technically possible to beat w/out using boosts/buying extra moves - rely on sheer luck to defeat. There are even levels which are constructed in such a manner as to immediately negate any boosts you *might* start with! Like I said in the title: Shameless. Lying. Money grab. Even if they used ads which depicted the same style of gameplay... the number of levels which force you to rely on luck - and luck alone - make this game an exercise in futility, and would be enough to only net the game a second star. Only took me 1400+ lvls to finally give up on this waste of time, money, and peace of mind. Sad thing is, I was looking forward to actually playing a “Make a Choice to Save Their Lives” game when I downloaded this! (For that matter, I’d love to play the imaginary “How to Loot”!)

Harder levels but terrible rewards throughout the game.
This game is/was very well addicting and advertised but the fact that the game gets harder when you get further but you don’t get better rewards is ridiculous and cheap. I’m not giving you my hard earned money for some pay to play bull crap. Give me better rewards the deeper I get into the game. Don’t get me wrong I love the difficulty of the levels but my rewards stayed the same no matter how far and long I played a specific level/levels. You add all types of crap to make the levels harder but you don’t give us better rewards? Kinda stupid if you ask me. For future references keep that same energy for rewards if you’re going to make the levels harder. It’s kinda hard to beat a level if you keep getting the “no more moves” sign in your face. Also why don’t my bombs explode at the end of every game I play, even if I didn’t finish the level in the right amount of moves? Y’all really just made up rules as you went along with this game. Doesn’t make any sense at all. It’s petty and ridiculous. Also I should have access to my extra bombs and electric balls or whatever they’re called at all times. I worked hard to get them or earned them by waiting everyday for the wheel spin. That’s foolish, continuing to stop me from completing a level by not allowing me to use my own rewards in the middle of a match. Fix yourselves!!!!

Buyer Beware
You can play this game without having to pay for lives or boosts, but you will almost certainly experience extremely slow progress and repeated close calls where you almost complete a level, while they dangle the promise of getting through the level as merely a purchase away. There is constant pressure to make the in-game purchases as they auto enroll you in tournament after tournament, where you will only do well as long as you continue to buy additional coins (credits) and lives. And all of that may be fine if you are willing to make those purchases, but be aware that there will be no loyalty to you as their customer. Purchased credits are rapidly depleted as suddenly levels become more difficult to complete, squeezing you to continue making additional purchases. If you happen to encounter a bug with any of the levels, and attempt to wind through the confusing labyrinth of customer service questions and screens (talking to a bot most of the way), you will experience long lag times between responses, and the human on the other side will frustrate you by asking for information you have already provided. They do not stand behind their product, and they have no sympathy for their paying customers who encounter technical issues with their product. Customer service is virtually nonexistent. For me, that was the dealbreaker.

Lacking support
I hate to even admit that I’ve spent money on a game, but on Gardenscapes, I have. Now I have a problem. One day I go on to see that everything is gone. I’ve been pushed back levels that I’ve already beaten. One being a “super hard level” and one of the reasons I spent money on this game. (Although I have also purchased coins on many other occasions, it took me 2 days of failing this level before I gave in to buying some help). Aside from being pushed back, everything is gone. No more toy chests, no more dog levels, tasks I’ve done, and stars that I had accrued. (I like to save them up and do a lump of tasks at once.) I contacted support through the in-app feature. While waiting on their response, I resumed playing to beat the same levels once again. Once support got back to me, I was advised to delete the app, restart my phone and download the app again. Although I had already tried that, I did it again. This time...THE SAME THING HAPPENS! All of the games features are still missing, but once again I am pushed back to the same level as before and the stars I had gained while waiting for support to get back to me are gone. I tell this to support and I am still waiting on a response. I’d be more than happy to send screenshots showing that all features are missing. Had I not spent money on this game, I would not be complaining, but this is unfair. Either my game needs to be fixed or I need to be refunded.
